SPM -LOG AUTO ARCHIVE

Hi everyone,
I had a problem trying to execute the Automatic Archiving Log Report. I log on with a user that has a SPM Administrator Role, when I execute the /VIRSA/FFARCHIVE transaction and press F8 (execute) the following error message appears: "The file couldn´t be open" (No se ha podido abrir el fichero). I have already assigned to the role the "S_DATASET" authorization object with the following fields and values:
- ACTVT: *
- FILE_NAME:*
- PROGRAM: /VIRSA/FF_LOG_AUTO_ARCHIVE
Also I had assigned de S_TCODE "/VIRSA/FFARCHIVE and configured the Auto Archive Location and created it at the server.
We scheduled the background job with the characteristics defined in Configuration Guide but at the first execution the job finalized with status "Cancel" with message number: /VIRSA/VFAT675.
I apreciate your comments, Is necessary  more Authorization Objects? Is something special about the Auto Archive Location?
Thanks a lot!

Hi,
Yes, we configured "Auto Archive Location" parameter with the folder location. Also we modified the folder privileges for 777.
Thanks for your response.

  • "AUTO ARCHIVE LOCATION" of the configuration of the SPM module

    Hello,
I want to know the option of the "AUTO ARCHIVE LOCATION" of the configuration of the SPM module of the SAP GRC AC 5.3 SP9.
This option saves the log directly in a server directory? Where does it save the log? And what does it save?
    Thank you in advance.
    Best Regards.
    Pablo Mortera.

    Hi Pablo,
      Please find my response below:
But when we use it, does it desactivate the log file os the SPM in the Database? No, it won't. There is a setting where you can configure that while archiving delete the logs from SPM. If you turn this on then you won't see the logs until you upload the archived logs into SPM. If you keep this option off, it will keep all the logs in SPM as well.
Can I choose a shared domain directory instead of a server directory? Yes, you can as long as it is accessible by the server.

As per the links you provided, these links are for archive deletion policy for primary and physical standby which we configure using RMAN..

    Hi,
Isn't the Office bundled on Dell machines already activated?
If it's the OEM version that has been installed on the machines and you want to use retail product keys to activate the Office, it's not possible. You will need to uninstall the OEM version and install the retail version.
You can check the OEM licensing system here:

  • Bug: Auto-archive does not work in Outlook 2010

The Auto-Archive feature does not seem to work. In my case, I'm creating a mail folder in my inbox and setting the auto archival to "2 weeks, then delete". I run Auto Archival manually. It seems to progress without any error, but I know better.
It should take the process more than a few minutes to process the mail I have stored up for almost a year. No error and my mail has been untouched.
I noticed this thread in the Outlook 2010 beta forums
I'm having the same issue. I'd like this bug fixed if possible? I keep archival folders to manage my mail.

    Hi Canovac,
Auto Archive works as expected in my environment.   I noticed you said that you created a new mail folder in your inbox.  Did you just create the folder and move the mail to that folder?  Auto archive looks at modified date and if you
move the mail to that folder that changed the modified date so the mail will not archive.
To determine the modified date, do the following:
While on the folder in question:
Click View > View Settings > Columns
In the Select available columns from dropdown choose
All Mail Fields locate Modifed in the Available colums: and click
    Add
If the mail has not been modified within the last two week span, please test the following for me.
Start Outlook with the /safe switch and then run Auto-Archive.
Does auto-archive work when starting with the /safe switch?

If so, you may configure the group policy and help you to achieve this target. For more details, please refer to the following similar thread.

  • Don't auto archive old topics, because I might return, some day

Here is a suggestion: Don't auto archive old topics, because I might return, some day. It is really annoying, that after couple of months or so I come back, and my threads have been locked. Also the message of locking is very small, hard to notice. I just try and try to post, but nothing helps. Then I find out, oh, the thread is convieniently locked. At the very least, the message should be more clear, and different icon for locked messages.
Thread about this at user forums http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2392195&tstart=0

    Hi Barbara,
For some people it is a useful thing.
The Example I linked to is in iSight's forum and if you go there you will see it not that far down the Topic List.
Mostly I have seen nice comments or very late thanks as in the Example.
Currently at the top of the second page in iChat 3 forum is one I used a similar technique on myself. It is the one with the red Title. (iChat 3 is currently getting more posts than iSight is so it has progressed further down).
It is an archived thread so even further Helpfuls and Solved stars cannot be awarded ...
I will leave you to work out what I did and how it could be abused.

  • All online logs needed archiving

    "All online logs needed archiving"
I have the database in "archivelog" mode
alert file ..All online logs needed archiving
When adding a new schema should the archivelog be NO?
What am I to do here?

Check to make sure that you aren't running out of space in the archive log destination. Make sure that you have not sopped archiving because this will backup on you unless you take the database out of archive log mode.
What happens when you do archive log start?
archive log stop should only be used for a temporary stop.

We apas the error that you can not save the archive logs for lack of space on disk. That happens when any process that generates too many ransacciones need to be written in the logs. For that reason much archive log is generated and fills the space.
Removes archivelog older, and those who already have a backup and there will be no problem so I recommend you have a disk space minimum of 50%

  • GRC10: Mandatory Comments on SPM Log Review

Gurus, is there a way to make comments mandatory when approving the SPM Log Report that the controller reviews? I have set the Task Setting to Comments Mandatory -> Approval (activated the workflow). Yet this has no impact. The controller is not forced to enter in any comments prior to approving. What am I missing??

    Hi Sudip,
No report is reaching in the controler's  e-mail box.In the spool(/VIRSA/VFAT) it's giving me only overview(no logs like old value and new value).
Earlier it was allright. I noticed one thing in R/3 under T.code SCOT  >INIT>SMTP,there are 100 of messages jammed in the queue.Do you think it could be a possible reason for this? If so, i need to report the issue to the BASIS team.

  • Auto Archiving Files in BEA repository

I need to find out if the following is possible in BEA content repository:
For files within a node that you create in the BEA repository, is there anyway to 'auto archive' these files?
For example, there are 10 files in 'Latest News' node. Out of these 10 files, there are 5 expired files that I do not want anymore.
Is there a way to 'auto' move these 5 files to another node e.g., 'Expired News', instead of manage these file from the portal admin console?

  • When occurs crash recovery, why use active online redo log not archived log?

If current redo log had archived, but it's still 'ACTIVE'. As we all know, archived log is just an archived copy of the current redo log which is still 'ACTIVE', they have the same data. But why use active online redo log not archived log for crash recovery?(I think, if crash recovery can use archived log, then whether the online redo log is 'ACTIVE' or not, it can be overwritten)
    Quote:
Re: v$log : How redo log file can have a status ACTIVE and be already archived?
    Hemant K Chitale
If your instance crashes, Oracle attempts Instance Recovery -- reading from the Online Redo Logs. It doesn't need ArchiveLogs for Instance Recovery.
    TanelPoder
Whether the log is already archived or not doesn't matter here, when the instance crashes, Oracle needs some blocks from that redolog. Archivelog is just an archived copy of the redolog, so you could use either the online or achive log for the recovery, it's the same data in there (Oracle reads the log/archivelog file header when it tries to use it for recovery and validates whether it contains the changes (RBA range) in it what it needs).

    Aman.... wrote:
    John,
Are you sure that the instance recovery (not the media recovery) would be using the archived redo logs? Since the only thing that would be lost is the isntance, there wouldn't be any archived redo log generated from the Current redo log and the previous archived redo logs, would be already checkpointed to the data file, IMHO archived redo logs won't participate in the instance recovery process. Yep, shall watch the video but tomorrow .
    Regards
    Aman....
That's what I said. Or meant to say. If Oracle used archivelogs for instance recovery, it would not be possible to recover in noarchive log mode. So recovery relies exclusively on the online log.
Sorry I wasted your time, I'll try to be less ambiguous in future

  • AD: Auto Archive Outlook 2010 GPO

    Hello,
I am currently testing Auto Archiving in Outlook 2010 via GPO but am having a little trouble with it. I copied the ADMX files to the DC and the workstation I am testing it from. I was able to get the policy applied and everything seems to be working. However,
here is where I am confused. I have it set to auto archive anything older than a month (to test) and the only thing I see archived are Sent emails. Does anyone know why it did not archive the Inbox and anything that was older than  a month in it?

    Hi,
Please use Group Policy Management Console to generate a Group Policy result to check policy apply status.
After you applied Outlook 2010 Auto Archive policy, its data are stored at:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\office\14.0\outlook\preferences
Check such registry hive in your client; make sure your user applied the policy successfully.

MED1 - Can not allocate log, archival requiredIt seems that all the online redo logs are full and you need to empty them. This can happeen due to two reasons
    1) archivelog destination is full
2)archiving is disabled although the database is in archive log mode
    increased log_archive_max_process=10
increased redlogs form 300Mb to 500Mb with additional groups..
Please advise if this is the correct solution ?These solution will not help you. See if the sufficient empty space is there at log_archive_destination. If it is there it may happen that archive log files were removed by OS commands and database has no knowledge about the removal. In this case connect to RMAN and crosscheck archivelogs, delete the expired. This will let the database archive all redo logs once you execute the command 'ALTER SYSTEM SWITCH LOGFILE' . If enough space is not there backup the old archivelog and delete them as described above. If archiving is disabled the enable them executing the command 'ALTER SYSTEM set log_archive_dest_state_1=enable'
