SPM: Setting a dialog user as a service user to be used as FF

Hi all,
We are having a dialog basis administration user in production and we are wondering if we could set is as a service user and use it as a FF in order to control a monitor his activities.
Such user is executing background jobs periodically.
Is there any effect for changing this user to service and use it as FF?

it's not compulsion to use service user as FF id.
you can use Dialog user also as FF id.
both options are ok. service of dialog.
i don't think there will be any issue, just don't logout and login too frequently, as you may get FF id busy message.

Firefox doesn't have the same type of interface for the Profile Manager that Netscape did. You might want to look at SeaMonkey ''(which uses the same Mozilla Gecko code as Firefox has)''.

Start ABAP Debug in Web Services Application - won't take non-Dialog user

Hello all. We are trying to Replicate Employees from SuccessFactors to SAP ECP/ERP with a delivered integration from SAP, but we''re having trouble interpreting some of the errors we're getting in the Application Log
As shown in the Web Services Utilities Message Monitor - our message is successfully Delivered - we would like to set a break-point in Class CL_PAOCF_EC_EE_MDR_IMPL and run our test. Unfortunately we have to use a Technical User in our middleware connector to consume the Service (to connect to the Java Application Server?) and setting External Breakpoints or enabling Debugging in SICF will only permit Dialog users. Does anyone know how we can run our Web Service and invoke an External Breakpoint in our application posting Class?

What is the "user type" for this user? In our system we have the user for the middleware defined as "Service type" and external debugging is possible with that user.

From dialog user to service user & BAPI BAPI_ACTIVITYCRM_CREATEMULTI

Hello all,
I have a question. When being a dialog user, running the fm BAPI BAPI_ACTIVITYCRM_CREATEMULTI creates no problems. E.g., the number of partners added to the activity is correctly stored in the internal table. However, since I want to prevent that I have to update the password every x days, I want to use a system or service type of user.
The problem now is that the function modules returns with an error. Because a certain partner now is NOT added/available anymore.
To sum, running the fm with dialog user gives a good, desired result. Chaning the user the system gives an erroneous result.
What changes do I have to make so that it correctly adds the desired partner type to my activity?

The problem is solved, it seems that i was passing fields that i didn´t have to pass, so instead of passing all the fields of the partner, now i just pass:

wa_partner_bapi-ref_partner_handle
wa_partner_bapi-no_type

Programmatically setting UserPrefs for User Messaging Service

I solved this... when u r saving from Em it is not saving ur configuration. so go to driverconfig.xml file at below location
Manully enter all the configuration values and restart the server.

ITS access with users not defined as dialog users

Hello ,
We have a requirement so that the users accessing HR Machine are restricted and only few of them are defined as dialog users . For the users defined as comunication users in the R3 core , we are now installing ESS - MSS services .
The ITS is needed for reporting , and also is needed for PCR´s functionality . But the ITS is asking for dialog users .
Does anyone know how can we use system or communicatio users ¿? . Or where can we fix the problem .

I have been running my Own test on this.
Any Screen Name on my G4 will show a Red Away Blob. In the Header ang where I have Some Accounts as Buddies in Other Buddy Lists.
This is also true if I log in with yet more Screen Names on my second computer.
I posted an Red Away message asking people to IM me if they could see it as Away.
In two days I had one reply form someone who saw it as Green.
If I set it to the Basic Away Setting the Message became Away but I showed as On Line and Available (Green).
I am currently testing having deleted com.apple.ichat.AIM.plist

How to set IPC JCO user connect to CRM system via 'group'?

Dear expert,
When we do XCM setting for IPC JCO connect, we input the server address directly in 'ashost', such as ashost = dga107.ndpaper.com. However, for CRM server, we have two instance, 107 and 108. Does that mean JCO user will only logon instance 107? Does that mean order will only creat in 107, no order in 108? can we have do some some settings to enable a group logon for the JCO user?
i noticed for base config, there is 'group connect' in dropdown list,how can i config XCM in the group way? is there any instruction?

I'm pretty sure there is a way but I can't check it right now.
We have such systems where this is set the way you would like it to be, but those are connected to a CUA (central user administration) so the possibility
does exist for regular Dialog users.
Unless it is valid for all users in the systems (which is very likely) that way only admin's in the CUA have authorization to change the password and synchronize it.
Service users is indeed what you are looking and most likely the best solution.

Broadcasting fails when dialog user has initial password

Hi,
Has anyone found that if a user created as a dialog user has an initial password, broadcasting fails?
I found the workaround to this is to set the user type to "service" but this is not ideal in our situation.
What are other people out there doing?
We're using SSO currently with parameters set to allow single sign-on if the user has an initial password without needing to reset it.

if u want to change default client u can do below steps
1. In the left frame choose Server → Services → Configuration Adapter
2. In the tab Display Configuration (right frame) choose Switch between view and edit mode to activate the edit mode.
3. Choose cluster_data → server → cfg → services → Propertysheet com.sap.security.core.ume.service
4. Choose Show the detail of the selected node
5. The parameter ume.r3.connection.master.client must be set to your SAP Exchange Infrastructure client. Adapt the value if necessary.

Error trying to run SSIS Package via SQL Server Agent: DTExec: Could not set \Package.Variables[User::VarObjectDataSet].Properties[Value] value to System.Object

Situation:
SSIS Package designed in SQL Server 2012 - SQL Server Data Tools
Windows 7 - 64 bit.
The package (32 bit) extracts data from a SQL Server db to an Excel Output file, via an OLE DB connection.
It uses 3 package variables:
*) SQLCommand (String) to specify the SQL Statement to be executed by the package
Property path: \Package.Variables[User::ExcelOutputFile].Properties[Value]
Value: f:\Output Data.xls
*) EXCELOutputFIle (String) to specify path and filename of the Excel output file
Property path: \Package.Variables[User::SQLCommand].Properties[Value]
Value: select * from CartOrder
*) VarObjectDataSet (Object) to hold the data returned by SQL Server)
Property path: \Package.Variables[User::VarObjectDataSet].Properties[Value]
Value: System.Object
It consists out of 2 components:
*) Execute SQL Task: executes the SQL Statement passed on via a package variable. The resultng rows are stored in the package variable VarObjectDataSet
*) Script Task: creates the physical output file and iterates VarObjectDataSet to populate the Excel file.
Outcome and issue:The package runs perfectly fine both in SQL Server Data Tools itself and in DTEXECUI.
However, whenever I run it via SQL Server Agent (with 32 bit runtime option set), it returns the errror message below.
This package contains 3 package variables but the error stating that a package variable can not be set, pops up for the VarObjectDataSet only. This makes me wonder if it is uberhaupt possible to set the value of a package variable
of type Object.
Can anybody help me on this please ?

thank you for your reply.
So, judging by your reply, not all package variables used inside a package need to be set a value for when run in DTEXEC ?
I already tried that but my package ended up in error (something to do with "... invocation ...." and that error is anything but clearly documented. Judging by the error message itself, it looks like it could be just about anything. that is why I asked my
first question about the object type package variable.
Now, I will remove it from the 'set values' list and try another go cracking the unclear error-message " ... invocation ...". Does an error message about " ... invocation ..." ring any bells, now that we are talking about it here ?

Yes exactly
You need to set values only forthem which needs to be controlled from outside the package
Any variable which gets its value through expression set inside package or through a query inside execute sql task/script task can be ignored from DTExec
Ok I've seen the invocation error mostly inside script task. This may be because some error inside script written in script task. If it appeared after you removed the variable then it may because some reference of variable existing within script task.

Permanently set registry EnableRbacReporting=0 in reporting services ?

I would like to permanently disable the "EnableRbacReporting" setting i SCCM 2012 R2 - Reporting Services.
How is this possible and is this in fact possible?

I don't know how to explain this in an easy way, so instead let me put out the scenarios i have tried:
Local System with EnableRbacReporting=1 Without any SPN's registered other than the ones the system makes for us:
When this is the case we cannot remotely access the reportserver and pass variables to the reports (using the
HTTP://Servername/ReportServer.aspx?blabla), but we can access the report and manually give the report the parameters.
Execution time: ~8-10 minutes.
Local System with EnableRbacReporting=0 Without any SPN's registered other than the ones the system makes for us:
Everything works as it should. We can access the report, and pass the username and device variables used in our URL.
Execution time: ~20-30 seconds.
Service Account EnableRbacReporting=1 with SPN registered on the username both with a port given and without a port given (in total 4 SPN registrations):
We can access the report server and pass the variables given to the URL which we need and everything in regards to Reports work as they should.
BUT, the Web Services which we also have on this server does not work, and no SPN registrations changes that (it run's under other user accounts).
Execution time: ~8-10 minutes.
So, as you can see it's not a matter of the execution time when we run on a service account, it's a matter of the remote usage.
In regards of your 1% overhead, this is NOT the numbers we see in this environment.
I can't see how changing the queries do much, when i can conclude that when simply changing the registry changes the execution time. (also, it's a builtin report).
So if we should look into something in that regard, it might be better to look at the stored procedure running the RBA? (or am i off here?)
The installation is as follows:
Server A: SCCM 2012 R2 CU2
Server B: SQL 2008 R2 SP2 CU13 / Reporting Services
Server C: WSUS
Server D: MP
Server E: MP
DP's in total is about 80
And this is not a subject to change.
TBH.
I would very much like it if we used the RBA, but to this customer, it gives him NO value, and i cannot possibly see how i can keep using the RBA other than if i get the other web services off this machine.
And this is not in scope atm.
Therefore i would like it if we could get back to the original question.
Is it possible to change this setting for good?

The user id is not dialog user so can not set external debugger.

adding users who are a part of the Domain. In your case you are trying to add users who are not a part of the domain, meaning, you are trying to create users only specific to Reporting Services, am I right?
But Reporting Services either relies on AD to authenticate the users, or you can create a custom-authentication extension to authenticate the users.
In your case, you might need use a custom security extension, and use that to create/delete/modify users. Check the Forms authentication Sample here:
