Spontaneous cracking of iphone 4 screen?

I had my iphone 4 charging overnight last night. The phone was fine and intact when I plugged it in. We had a bad storm last night and I heard a pop, woke up and found the screen on the phone cracked. Nothing fell on it, it had not moved. Apple Genius was no help. No warrenty left. Anyone hear of this? any recourse I can take? Any chance of fixing it?

Your warranty has expired, so it is irrelevant whether the phone cracked due to a manufacturing error or whether it was due to a current surge from the storm. Out of warranty is out of warranty.
You can purchase an out of warranty exchange for $149, or you can purchase a new phone. You can find a 3rd party repair shop and see what they say. Your choice. But there's no "recourse". Apple fulfilled it's end of the bargain for the year the phone was warrantied.

So I dropped my iphone 4s and cracked it and then I picked it up and now it won't turn on. I've tried plugging it into my wall, computer, etc. I don't know what to do, so what should I do? also will i be able to access my photos again because my photos aren't backed up or anything? also i would like to access my notes again? I'm so confused and don'please help!

Sounds to me like your phone is broken as well. Without a backup you've likely lost your data. You could try taking it into an Apple store or contact them and see if they have any way recovering your data. Likely not but worth a try.

It's in your best interest to locate an apple store and take it in...explain what happened. Trust me on this. But if you can download the apple store app (on your phone or another device), it will be worth it. With it, you can find a local apple store and set up an appointment. Yes, you need to make an appt. If you don't, they will make one for you when you walk in, but you may have to wait. Don't forget to check in when you get there. I know it sounds like too much work, but it might be worth it. It is more expensive than replacing the earlier iPhones, because they attached all kinds of junk to the screen. They aren't just replacing the screen.

I have cracked my iphone 6 screen. thankfully i have insurance with 02 and they will be charging me £60.00 to replace. If i go into an apple store they have in the past replaced my phone or ipod for a small price.
Does anyone know how much the store charges to replace iphone 6's ? Or shall i just stick with insurance as it'll be more costly??

Iphone 6 screen spontaneously cracked all over on its own

I was sitting next to my iPhone 6 and the screen spontaneously cracked... it literally looks like someone took a hammer to my phone. Nothing dropped on it...i was literally sitting beside it and looked at it and the screen was shattered.
Has this happened to anyone? What should i do?

A micro fracture can cause the entire screen to shatter? It looks like someone took a hammer to the surrounding area of the home button...and it ran cracks all through the lower bottom with a crack running up all the way to the top...its crazy

No in order to backup to iTunes, you would need to unlock your phone.
In order to import pics to your computer you would need to unlock your phone.

The LCD Display connector has partially come loose from the logic board connector, and simply needs to be pressed back down into place. Or the front screen assembly is now faulty, and needs to be replaced again.
