Spotify cancels every Song after 1-3 Seconds

Hi,the problem first occured like 2 Weeks ago.
When i click on a song...it starts playing, but after 1-3 Seconds spotify stops the play. After that, i got 2 possibilitys:
1. i trie to play the same song again -> spotify tries to play the song, the progression-bar in the bottom is running und looks like something is really happening, but i got absolutely no sound. Even tho ijust heard the first seconds of the song like 5 Seconds ago, when i first clicked on it. 2. I trie to play another song -> spotify gives me, again, the first few seconds and then goes into cancelling again.  1 Week ago i deleted and re-installed spotify....all was fine for a few days, but now i got the same problem again. Some info that might or might not help:-I am using Spotify-Premium- When i use spotify both on my mobile and pc, i can use that "play sound on mobile" and it works. But the other way around it doenst ( When i tell spotify on my mobile what song to play on my computer.

I found to have this problem on my computer. I changed the place where the cachefiles is stored (Changed to the second hard drive just to be safe, but don't know if that would be required), restarted spotify and it works perfectly again after that.

  • Has Apple acknowledged the problem yet with itunes aborting preview of songs after about 10 seconds on windows 7 and if so is there an answer other than ipconfig?

Has Apple acknowledged the problem yet with itunes aborting preview of songs after about 10 seconds on windows 7 and if so is there an answer other than ipconfig?  IPConfig /flushdns doesn't help at all.  Until they fix it I will be previewing and buying my songs thru Amazon.

Doublechecking ... do you still get that if you update to iTunes 10.6.3.25 (just released today)?

  • My ipod click skips to random songs after playing 10 seconds of a song

my ipod click skips to random songs after playing 10 seconds of a song and it won't reset either, can anyone help?

There are three possible causes of skipping music after playing a bit of the song:
    1) the music on your computer is munged
    2) the music was munged as it transferred to your iPod
    3) the iPod is 'confused'
Listen to a couple songs on your computer - the same ones that are skipping on your iPod. Are they okay? Scratch problem 1 - otherwise you have some reripping to do, assuming you haven't backed them up.
Next, reset your iPod. If the music is still skipping then the fastest fix is to use your restore/upgrade software to restore the iPod. This will erase the music and re-install the iPod's operating system which will take care of possible problems 2 and 3.
If the iPod isn't resetting - first make sure you are following the reset instructions for your iPod. There are different methods for different generations. Also, sometimes it is best to reset with the iPod plugged in. Finally, make sure you don't have the hold button set.

  • With headphones plugged in, ipod changes songs after 2-3 seconds

ipod has been working fine until lately. when I plug the headphones in, it will change songs after about 2-3 seconds. Also, sometimes when you power down it will come back on all by itself. Any help would be great !!!!!!

OK, so here is my problem.  I did originally download the Beta 10.10...  Apparently I kept on getting betas and was running 10.10.2 (which today is still in beta).
I did downgrade to 10.10.1 (by clicking "Download" in the App Store).
Right after the downgrade everything with syncing works perfectly.
    Cheers, hope this helps someone.

  • Ipod skipping songs after a few seconds

I have been having problems with playing certain songs on my new 80GB ipod classic (all ripped from CDs, not purchased or downloaded).
The songs will skip to the next song after anything from right at the beginning of the song to 30 seconds in. If I go back, I can fast forward past the point it skips, and it will play to the end.
I have already tried deleting the songs from my library and re-importing, restoring my ipod with the latest software and checking that the stop time on the song is correct. Does anyone have any other suggestions for me?
    Thanks

I have a similar issue, the only difference being that when I fast forward it will not continue to play, only again, skip to the next song.
After some research I have found that the only thing that seems to work for me is to convert my files to MP3 using the "convert to MP3" function found in iTunes. All my songs are already in MP3, but the reason this works is due to the encoding. If the encoding is unknown, it seems more often than not my iPod will skip those tracks. When you convert it to mp3 using iTunes it changes the encoding to some kind of iTunes encoding.
This makes me VERY angry. There is no way I have found to sort the items by their encoding as to convert only the problematic ones. Also, when you convert it changes the bit rate to read what ever your rip settigs are. This ***** because I plan on reripping some of my CDs that I ripped years ago at a low bit rate. If I convert to MP3 I cannot search my library to see which ones were ripped at the lower rate.
It also creates a duplicate of the audio file, which means I will not have enough space on my hard drive to compensate for over 12000 duplicated at a higher or equivilant bit rate.

  • Skipping the song after a few seconds on certain tracks

hi, I have spent hours trying to find something about this and there's nothing anywhere, this is getting really annoying.
I bought a 2g ipod nano in February and here's my problem. When i play certain songs, the Ipod will stop after a few seconds and jump to the next one. It happens always on the same song, however I can make it work if I manually skip some of the song by holding the forward button, but it still might jump to the next one after a few seconds. Anyway, I missed a good part of the song in the process and I have to do it all the time. This is annoying because on some albums, I miss up to 4 or 5 songs. I don't think that's what you expect after spending $150 on a new toy.
I noticed it does that on songs that are irregular, with breaks in them. I have restored, reset, erased the songs and replaced them, looked into all the options possible, through the forums and the internet and cant find a good answer. please help me!

    thanks for all the help.
now, went to play with those options and it doesn't change anything. I even try to set it up so it would skip the first 3 seconds of the song since it's where it stops. To no avail. just stopped at 7 seconds...
So, it's not the track, it's not the gapless option (on or off doesn't make any difference), it's not the Ipod program (reinstalled it several times). What is it then???

  • IPod Nano (2nd generation) stops playing some songs after 30-60 seconds

I purchased a 2nd generation 2 GB iPod Nano last week (03/13/07) and experienced problem with some songs stopping after 30-60 seconds and then skipping to the next song.
The songs in question were downloaded in Mp3 format from a CD and they play fine and in their entirity from the iTunes library.
I tried the 5Rs but with no success. Thinking the iPod Nano was defective, I exchanged it today (03/16/07) however, the same problem persists and with the same songs.
I tried compressing the songs but that made matters worse, i.e., the play duration shortened and/or the songs didn't play at all.
Is this an iPod Nano issue or a problem with certain songs? Given that the identical problem exists with two brand new units, I suspect the latter but I don't know what to do.
The songs are not "read only" or "origin-protected".
    Appreciate any assist.
    Thanks.

I've experienced the same problem with some songs that will start playing for few seconds but then skip to the next song. This is with songs I've ripped from CDs and transferred from an old computer. I've tried the 5 R's, repeatedly. It does not help. Is there anyway to fix this other than deleting the songs from my computer and re-downloading from CD's? I've got over 1,800 songs on my iPod and really don't want to go through each one to figure out which I need to reload.

  • Why do some songs I've imported from cd's skip to the next song after a few seconds of play?

This causes the songs to do the same once i've put them on my ipod. Songs purchased through iTunes play properly...

Are you in a country, where you can download past purchases again?
Then delete the three bad songs from your iTunes Library and download them again from the store:
See: Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
With iTunes '11Go to the iTunes Store
Make sure that you have "Show iTunes in the Cloud Purchases" enabled in your iTunes preferences by going to iTunes > Preferences under the Store tab. Then, click OK.
If you're not already signed in, choose Store > Sign In, and enter your Apple ID and password.
After you've signed in, click the Library button located in the upper-right of the iTunes Store.
Navigate to your iTunes library for the respective content type you wish to download using the content selector in the upper-left. Choose Music to download songs, Movies to download movies, and so on.

  • After a few seconds iTunes jumps to previous song.

Since a couple of days I have a severe problem with iTunes. When playing music in the music library iTunes jumps back to the previous song after a few seconds of playing the current song. Sometimes this happens half way the song but most of the times it happens after max. 10 seconds. I updated iTunes, started it in save-modus, but nothing helps. It doesn't help to make playlists, it does the same thing...
    Please help!

If you Archived and Installed then check iChat launches from the Applications Folder.
If it does that Drag the current (iChat 3) icon off the DOCK and drag iChat 4 to the DOCK.

  • Songs stop after a few seconds

My problem on is that every songs just stops after a few seconds, I already searched for this on google and the only thing that I found was to disable high quality streaming and it's already disabled. This problem also only occurs on the downloaded software on my pc, the webplayer and spotify on my phone still work. I am using Windows 7 and I have Spotify Premium if this information helps. I hope you can help me with my problem :)

I have that same problem! (It occured yesterday, after last update) What does NOT help in my case:- reinstall Spotify- close in Manager SpotifyWebHelper.exe- clean the cash and temporary files- update Java- turn off VPN If anyone finds the solution, please let me know :) I have Windows 7 as well (and I have disable Flash in web browsers - I don't know it's important)

  • CPU 100% 20 seconds into every song

It may or may not be iTunes's fault, but I'm just making sure if anyone else is having similar problems.
About 20 seconds into every song, CPU usage skyrockets to 100%, and all I can do is wait until the CPU usage drops back down a few seconds later. Then the song continues just fine until 20 seconds into the next song.
I'm using iTunes 5 on Windows XP Pro, Service Pack 2, (256 MB RAM), and I have SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio (which I believe is onboard sound for my Intel Desktop Board D845PESV.)
    Any ideas?

I'm having the same problem. I've isolated it in a number of ways trying to resolve it.
It always happens 13 seconds into playing a track. This applies whether it plays from the beginning, 1 min into the track or if I make is jump to different places. Each time, once it has played 13 seconds (ie first 13 secs or if I jump to 1 min immediately it will be at 1:13 or if I play 6 secs then jump to 1:30 it will happen at 1:37). The CPU spikes to 100%, pausing everything and leaving a 3 or 4 sec silence.
This happens regardless of track length. So a 1 hour dj set will have the CPU spike at 13 secs and then be fine for the next hour.
It seems to me to be related to some sort of buffering or something similar in Itunes. I have worked out that once it has caused the CPU spike I can restart the same track and it will play through without a hiccup. If I play the next track and then come back to the first track, though, it will glitch at 13 secs again. I can also make it glitch on a replay of the first track without playing any others by changing the tracks that are to come after it in the playlist. This seems to suggest it is related to buffering the coming track(s).
I can make the silent gaps go away by reducing the size of my music library considerably. It is over 45 gig now. If I reduce it to below 20 gig the CPU spiking occurs but not at 100% and so not causing the silences. The problems is still there, though, and itunes has played my 40 gig library fine for months without any such problems.
Recent changes have included a few software installs. I have removed those that I could (eg Nero) but I do still have one photo editing programme that I need for a current job. I had removed quicktime from my startup but seeing a suggestion that this caused such a problem I have put it back. This has not fixed the problem for me.
I have also bought a shuffle and would have probably run the software related to that. If you had a problem when you added a mini perhaps it's due to some sort of error arising from the software coming with new ipods when used with existing itunes installations? Just a guess.
    I'm running Itunes 4.7.1.30
If anyone can help with this I would be most grateful as it is making Itunes unusable on my computer. I'm going to have to go back to playing cds!!!

  • My iPod touch crashes to the home screen after every song.

I recently updated my iTunes and the first time I connected my iPod to iTunes it worked fine.
I connected my iPod for a second time last night and now it says it doesn't recognize the usb device and that another iPod with iOS was connected to this computer or something like that. Now it asks me if I want to restore it.
I didn't restore it, but since I've then, my iPod crashes to the home screen after each and every song.
It plays one song, starts another, and crashes.
    Please Help!!

  • Offline Songs Skipping/Jumping After Around 10 Seconds

So I'm habing a proplem where some albums that I download do not work properly. I try play songs and after about 10 seconds it will automatically go to the next song and this sometimes happens with multiple songs in a row. It only happens on some of my albums though. Even after i reboot my phone it continues to happen. The only way I can figure out how to fix it is if I undownload the album and then remove it from my library. Then I add to my library again and redownload it. Does anyone know why this keeps happening?

    Hello there!
Have you tried a clean reinstallation?
This helps to fix almost all issues found on the Android client.
Just follow these steps to clean reinstall Spotify:
From the home screen, tap Settings > Apps.
Find Spotify in your list of apps.
If you're able to, tap Clear Data and Clear Cache.
Tap Uninstall to remove the app.
Turn your device off and then back on.
Open Google Play then search for and install the Spotify Music app.
Keep in mind that a clean reinstall will delete all data stored by Spotify, so you will need to sync your offline tracks again.
    Hope this helps! ♫
