Spotify clashes with Chrome on Windows

Hi,
I recently joined Spotify so not sure if this is a new issue.
Often (but not every time) when I open Spotify Chrome browser stops working. All open tabs goes blank and I can't open a new tab (the tab opens but the content doesn't).
When that happens, Spotify content screen also goes blank. I can try to play a song (the play button is still visible and actionable) but it goes bust in about 30 seconds.
When I try to close it, it doesn't fully close, so I can't try to reopen it.
When I try to open Task Manager I receive an error.
Only workaround I found so far is to restart the computer, which is not really a workaround
Are there any solutions to this problem? It is a deal breaker for me.

I just bout a Microsoft Surface Pro 3. One of the first things I downloaded was Google Chrome (default browser now) and Spotify. When playing music through Spotify, it will automatically pause playback in the background if I open Chrome. Basically, this leaves me where I have to choose to browse the internet or listen to music. Spotify will not work & play music in the background if I am on Chrome. I'm confused since I'm only experiencing this with Chrome... Internet explorer seems to work just fine with spotify playing in the background. I'd really like to find a resolution as this is very annoying.

QTVR problem with Chrome

I have noticed a problem with QTVR files (interactive panoramas):
- the navigation with mouse doesn't work
- the navigation with arrows keys works
- the navigation with 2 fingers gestures on trackpad works
Curiously, no problem with Chrome for Windows (so far...)
I have also noticed:
- on Windows the QT extension version is 7.7.2
- on OSX QT extension version is 7.7.1 (and it seems that I can't upgrade)
So, is it possible to fix the problem of the mouse?

Thanks a lot for your response, but unfortunately your suggestion doesn't solve the issue.
First, it seems that it's not possible to switch Chrome in 32 bits mode.
I tried with Firefox, which presented the same problem, but nothing changed...
Just to sum up things:
MacOSX
- Safari and Opera : no problem
- Chrome and Firefox : mouse problem
Windows
- Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Opera and... IE : no problem!
And just to let you know (nothing to do with the problem): I have a HTML5/CSS3/WebGL versions of the panoramas which work great on any browser on MacOSX/IOS and which don't work on Windows except for Safari...

Problem with the Finder window in Chrome

Hello,
I have a problem with my finder window in Chrome.
Since the window isn't a separate window anymore, but stuck to the top of the webpage, my finder window is too big. I can't read the "Cancel" or "Send" (I have no idea what's supposed to be there in English but I assume it's something like "send" and "cancel") buttons. I have provided some images of the problem, even if I make the Chrome window as small as possible, the finder window still is too big for my screen. I can resize the finder window from lest to right, but not up or down, which is extremely irritating for me.
If anyone can help me how I can solve this problem.

I found the solution on another thread...Here it is.
"I was having the same problem. I found a way to make it smaller. First, I opened chrome and clicked the green button on the window to make chrome go into full screen. Then I tried to save a file to make the finder window open in chrome. When it opened in full screen I could see the bottom of the window so I resized it to make it a little smaller. Once I did this it remembered the size so now I can access the bottom buttons when I take it out of full screen mode. Hope this helps."

Can't install Creative Media Lite - Clash with Windows XP Home SP

Can't install Creative ZEN Stone Starter Pack ..08.
When InstalShield runs I get the following message:

Here's 2 messages from Creative Customer Support. Looks like there may be a clash with SP3 so, 'Come on Guys', let's get it fixed.

I was able to talk to our Advanced Support Group (ASG) regarding this issue. And according to them, that it might be possible that SP3 would be the reason why you are unable to install the Creative ZEN Stone Starter Pack. According to our ASG, that the main difference between SP2 and SP3 is network security feature called Network Access Protection, which scans the integrity of a computer before connecting to a corporate network, which is absolutely useless for end users at home. As being one more security feature in Windows XP, this can possibly cause various problems with multimedia applications.

Uploading files to website not working with Safari in Windows 7

I am a website owner, and I have a feature on my site where users can upload large (up to 50MB) music files to my server. The feature works in Firefox on OSX & Windows platforms and it also works in Safari on OSX. The uploading feature is not working with Safari for Windows. Do you have any idea why and how to fix this? It can't be an issue with my server as it works in other browsers fine and works fine in Safari for OS X.
If you have any information on how to solve this or things for me to try to rectify this for use with Windows operating system it would be much appreciated.

I have solved this issue myself with some help from my a user on Microsoft Forums. The issue stems from the mime type of each Browser Chrome, IE, & Safari for Windows defaults as audio/wav. When the mime type is changed to audio/x-wav everything works. Firefox defaults to audio/x-wav and when changed to audio/wav it DOES NOT work.
Once I input some code in my .php upload page to change the mimetype if audio/wav is detected everything works GREAT!!!
So Here is what you need to do: Find your upload page and input this code:
echo "<p>MIME Type: ".$_FILES["file"]["type"]."</p>";
right before your "If/then" statement of file type. For me it was near line 30 in my upload.php page, but I'm sure this is different for everyone.
This will detect and DISPLAY the default mime type of your browser on the error page when your upload doesn't work. Once you know what mime type works for your file type then you can change your "if/then" statement for mime type upload to change your mime type to the correct one.
I don't want to give the code here, because I'm sure it's specific to your file types and your site construction, but this should lead you on the right track.
***This is the solution if you ARE NOT ABLE to upload any certain file in a certain Browser. It has to do with mime type construction***

How can I get Firefox ver. 29 to work with Silverlight in windows 8.1

I noticed that this problem doesn't occur in version 28 of Firefox. For some reason when I try to go to Netflix, I can login but I can't play any videos without getting an 2103 error message with Silverlight. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling both 64bit and 32bit versions of Silverlight 5. It worked last night, but for some reason it won't work at all. So I've went back to version 28 of FIrefox and the problem is gone. I also want to note that this problem isn't happening with Chrome or IE11.

I've been using Firefox Beta, so I've had 29 for a while. Silverlight works fine, and I use Netflix without any errors. I'm using a 64-bit Windows 7, so I can't say why it won't work on Windows 8.1. Hopefully it gets fixed since I'm updating soon.
Just a quick note: make sure you have the latest 32-bit version of Silverlight. The 64-bit version will only work on IE11 if you have a 64-bit system.

PDF document inline view Issue with Chrome

I am facing an issue with the below procedure which should fetch and display PDF document in the browser.
It displays properly on IE 9. But no luck in Chrome. Shows junk.
What am I missing? Meanwhile report BLOB column link inline download is working fine with Chrome. I use this proc to popup a new window and display PDF in it.
Any help is appreciated.

Apex 5 not working with Chrome, works perfectly with firefox.

So after a few days of trying to upgrade my 4.2 PDB to 5.0. Finally, Success.
I have encountered a new issue.
Apex works fine under Firefox, but the same cannotbe said for google chrome. Even though I can log in via chrome, certain things do not work.
For example.
When I click on my username for the account menu in the top right corner, nothing happens with chrome (see image1).
When I do the same exact thing under Firefox, I get the drop down account menu as intended. (see image2)
I am a linux user, so at first I thought maybe it was something related to chrome with Linux.
Then I thought maybe it was some sort of caching issue, so i cleared my cache and all temp files.
Finally, I checked the chrome vs firefox comparison on 3 different PC's. 1 linux, 1 Windows 8.
When I use Apex via Firefox, I have not bumped into a single bug, I was able to test it thoroughly to make sure desiger and all features worked without an issue.
Under chrome, some things work, others do not.
Another example of something that doesnt work under chrome. When I get an authentication error, the countdown timer (please wait 5 seconds) does not count down nor disappear after 5 seconds. Under firefox, works. This can be said for an assortment of buttons, links, drop down menus.
Has anyone bumped into this? Anyone successfully using apex5 via chrome?

Hi John,
based on the error message that almost looks like that our desktop.min.js library didn't load. Can you please try the following.
1) On the page where you see that error, click the Hamburger icon in the top right corner and select 'More tools' -> View Source.
2) In the HTML source displayed, search for desktop.min.js (use Ctrl+F) and click on that link of the file. desktop.min.js should be right before wwv_flow.js_messages.
Does it show the source of the file?
If that works, can you do the same for jquery-2.1.3.min.js right before desktop.min.js.

I have troubles viewing videos. With Chrome i can see them well.

With Firefox 7.0 the videos freeze, and take too long to replay. That does not happen with Chrome, for example. I use a notebook Acer Aspire 4315 with 1.5 Gb RAM, Windows XP updated. I use also Speedbit Video Accelerator, the program is good.

Connect the iPhone to your Mac with its USB cable and launch iPhoto. In iPhoto you can select which files to upload into the library. Once in the library export them out of iPhoto to a folder on the Desktop via File ➙ Export ➙ File Export with Kind=Original. That will give you copies of the videos in the folder for use outside of iPhoto.
If you want to bypass importing into iPhoto try launching Image Capture and manually upload the selected video files to the folder of your choice.

Please first take a check with the other Players and see if they could play the MP4 file normally. If it can't be played, which means it might be corrupted. You may ask at the Bandicam side, or save the files again.
If issue insists, take a try with the Troubleshooter (For Windows 7, 8 and 8.1):
Open the Windows Media Player Settings troubleshooter
Fix Windows Media Player video, and other media or library issues
Or you may try to turn Windows Features on or off to reset Windows Media Player:
Turn Windows features on or off (Before turn it on again, please remember to reboot first)

Adobe Reader compatibility with Chrome on MAC OS

Are Adobe Reader 9, 10 & 11 versions compatible with Chrome on a MAC OS?
I found below Adobe Reader tech specs where Chrome is not explicitly listed under Mac OS but again Chrome isn’t explicitly listed for Adobe Reader 9 and 10 specs for windows either but this works fine –

Chrome uses its own PDF viewer, not the Adobe Reader plugin.

Adobe Reader clashing with web browser, problem. Help

Hello,
I've been using Foxit Reader before using Adobe Reader. Now when i'm trying to view pdf files in firefox there is this error showing "The Adobe Reader cannot be used to view pdf files in a web browser". I've tried reinstalling adobe reader but this problem persists. Below is a screenshot of the problem. This might be a bug in the program as i have done the needful and set adobe as the deafult pdf file manager or the web browser might be clashing with this version of adobe reader. I'm not sure why this is happening and would like someone to educate me on this.
Please let me know of any solution to this problem. I'm on Windows XP.

The Accessibility Object for AS2 is returning a false positive for AS2 with IE10 on Windows 8 Pro.

There is an issue with the our legacy content player, which is written in Flash Actionscript 1 & 2. This
player behaves fine in most browsers on most platforms, but in IE10 on Windows 8 it doesn't work
properly.

This seems to because of the Flash engine's Accessibility object using the Microsoft Active
Accessibility (MSAA) API to detect the presence of Screen Readers. This detection is creating a false
positive on Windows 8 machines and that may be due to the touch screen support on that platform. This
doesn't appear to be occuring with Chrome or Firefox on the same platform; however. So I suspect that
IE or IE's Flash compenent is doing something different than these other browsers.

This is legacy code and is too close to its end-of-life to justify porting to AS3. As far as a work-around I am already looking into it. I was hoping that someone had already encountered this issue and created a work-around. This would have saved time.
Any other takers?
