Spotlight/Gaming Sweetie Bianca made her MSI Brand Ambassador debut

(MSI eSport News Report)2014 MSI continuedto popularizing the global professional Electronic Sport (eSport) and made every effort to supporting the worldwide selected eSport gamers and eSport teams. Last year MSI sponsored a popular female eSport player Jane Bianca N. Yao, also known as Mski. Biancake, as our first ever homegrown brand ambassador in Philippines. Bianca is now only 16 years old, a student from the university in Manila. Now let’s find out more about her in our exclusive interview!
Hello Bianca! Congratulations to you on becoming the MSI Philippines brand ambassador! Kindly introduce yourself to our global users.
Greetings, everyone! I'm Bianca. I am currently a college student taking up Mass Communication. I am a scholar and an incoming sophomore. I used to be a competitive DotA player but decided to quit after MineskiTV recruited me as a shoutcaster for the coverage of Mineski’s events and an anchor in MineskiEsports News Weekly.

How does it feel to be MSI Philippinesbrand ambassador?
I am really grateful that MSI Philippines picked me as their brand ambassador because at the end of the day, I just see myself as a regular player like everybody else. I feel so blessed to be given this kind of opportunity because to be honest, I never expected this. That is why I always do my best to prove MSI and to MSI followers that they picked the right person to represent their brand and remind myself that I have to stay as the same Bianca Yao that they liked when they picked me. A gamer, a responsible student, a girl who loves eSport and loves MSI. I will forever be thankful to MSI for the trust that they have given me especially during the time that I was just starting as a shoutcaster.
MSI has a full range of gaming products, what is your favoriteproduct and functionso far and why? What elsedo you want to try in thefuture and why?
I have unboxed and tried many MSI products but for me, the one that stands out the most is my MSI GT60 gaming notebook! Back then I had doubts in using a laptop for gaming because here in the Philippines, we usually use desktop computers to play. However, after my first MSI GT60 experience, all those doubts vanished because it was the best gaming experience that I had as a gamer. The fact that I can carry MSI GT60 around in school and photo shoots while being able to play during break time is really something else. Before, I usually go to cyber café to play but now that I have MSI GT60, I can still play at home whenever I’m too busy to go to café and truth to tell, MSI GT60 actually performs better than any other computers I tried in any café. It’s hard for me to pick one feature because I love almost every feature in MSI GT60,but I guess if I were to choose one, my personal favorite is the Turbo Boost feature because when I activate it on my MSI GT60, I get over 80 FPS (Frame per Second) in DotA2 at max settings and this way I am able to play The Queen of Pain which is my favorite hero very smoothly, and myMSI GT60remains cool even while I’m playing it for a long period of time.In terms of the new products surprise me. I just unboxed the MSI GS70 Stealth and it was awesome, it is the thinnest and lightest 17" gaming notebook that I have ever seen so far. I’m sure MSI has more surprises in store for us in the future. I can’t wait!
eSport team Mineski-DOTA shoutcasterMski. Biancake.
“Support me so I can carry you!”
As a female DotAplayer, what is your favoriteeSport role and why?
Originally, I played the support role because that’s where everyone starts as it’s a role that requires less mechanics but I wanted a bigger role and eventually, I played carry for HappyFeet-Chix. I was a tri-lane carry back then and used heroes like Slardar that help initiates fights. What I love about playing this role is that it requires a lot of guts and timing because you know that your initiation will decide whether your team will lose or win in a team fight. As the saying goes, “Support me so I can carry you!”
What is your favorite eSport team and why?
I’m pretty biased but of course, I love Mineski-DOTA and MSI-EvoGT. These are two of the most popular teams in the Philippines. I love Mineski-DOTA because they are the ones that started it all. If it wasn’t for them, the eSport scene here in the Philippines wouldn’t be like this.I love MSI-EvoGT because I personally know the players and meet and talk to them a lot during photo shoots and meetings and I love how passionate they are towards gaming. Whenever I’m around MSI-EvoGT, I feel so lucky that I’m surrounded by so many players who gamers look up to in their respective communities and share the same passion as I do towards eSport. We can talk nonstop about games and tournaments. In terms of International teams, I like The Alliance. Because they’re doing it! I love how they won against Na’Vi last TI3 (3rd The International DotA 2 Championships). I watched their last game against them via Livestream and I can’t believe what and how it happened but they won.
As a shoutcaster forMineski-DOTA, what do you do to get ready for anupcoming big event?
I play DotA and watch a lot of DotA vods(video-on-demand) so that I can be updated with the META and new terms of course. My Mineski family has always been supportive of me, they always guide and help me in shoutcasting especially Tryke and Lon because they are the first professional shoutcasters in Philippines.

“I keep in my mind that there is a real world outside the gaming scene that I should prepare for.”
As we know, you are a gamer, a shoutcaster, a model and a singer, and you are now still a student! Tell us how do you deal with all thesedifferent characters?
If you really love what you are doing, you have to be disciplined and you have to know your priorities. I tell myself that I should set my priorities. I make sure that I don't have school work left behind before playing DotA. I keep in my mind that there is a real world outside the gaming scene that I should prepare for.MSI has always been there for me and that helped me a lot, especially with my MSI GT60 which helped me in my studies and playing. Gaming is my way out of stress.
What is your expectationfor 2014?
I hope I can go somewhere out of the country because that’s something that I’ve never done in my life and of course to pass all my subjects. I hope that one of our top Pinoy teams get to the international because that would be awesome to watch.
All your fans are looking forward to see you again soon in the upcoming public activities! Tell us your plan for 2014?
Fans can always catch me in MineskiEsportsWeekly; it’s a show that features news and current events about eSport which is aired every Friday. You can also see me in MPGL DotA 2 that happens every 4th weekend of the month in MI Shaw. Lastly, in the upcoming MSI events for gaming that I can’t tell yet.
:o
Finally, is there anything you want to say?
First and foremost, I would like to thank MSI Philippines for giving me this opportunity. To Ms. Marian, I love you so much! Thank you for all the advice and support and for always being patient with me. To my family,my friends and my Mineski familyout there! Too many to mention! Thank you for the patience in teaching me how to be a good shoutcaster and also to be a better person. Thank you for guiding me with what I'm doing and being good to me, always giving me pieces of advice, guiding me not just in gaming but in life in general. Thanks to all my fans, I wouldn’t call fans because I see you all as my fellow gamers. To all gamers and players out there, choose MSI!To my number 1 fanmy mother, thank you so much for your support, effort and guide! Thank you for waking me up whenever I have an event. It feels so great that you’re always more excited than me whenever I get projects. Thank you for being so supportive. I know that you’re the one who viewed my videos the most. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH! Thanks everyone!

  • MOVED: Z97 Gaming 5 - Updated drivers with MSI live update, crashed - nothing works

This topic has been moved to GAMING Motherboards.
    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=255291.0

sounds like along with drivers, you also flashed your BIOS and this failed and caused this issue
    Quote
I tried to put the MSI Z97 BIOS on a flash drive and reboot with that, but nothing happens. There are no beeps, just the harddrives booting up and then nothing more..
place your old BIOS version on the USB key not renamed and place the USB key in rear USB ports
then see if BIOS can be recovered
else you have to RMA it as there is no dual BIOS solution on it

  • MSI GTX980 Gaming sometimes not recognized by MSI Z97 Gaming 9 AC

I have been experiencing a very odd problem with my new hardware.
    Hardware
Motherboard: MSI Z97 Gaming 9 AC
    CPU: Intel Core i7-4790
    CPU-cooler: Scythe Mugen 4
    RAM: G.Skill RipjawsZ F3-17000CL9Q-16GBZH
Videocard: MSI GeForce GTX 980 4GB GAMING 4G
    PSU: Seasonic X-660 80+ Gold
    SSD: Crucial M550 2,5" 1TB
    Monitor#1: LG 34UM95-P
    Monitor #2: Eizo Foris FG2421
    OS: Windows 7 Professional
    Issue description
The thing is that with 2 monitors connected the videocard is not recognized on a cold boot, but boots perfectly most of the time after a restart. In some cases a restart doesn't do the trick. I have even seen a couple of times that the monitor shows that windows starts and then the monitor loses the signal from the videocard before I can see the desktop (rare). With just 1 monitor attached the videocard is recognized. Als the IGP works fine, it's just the videocard that doesn't seem to be recognized when 2 monitors are connected (all combinations of DP, HDMI and DVI). When the computer has booted after one or more restarts and the videocard is recognized the computer works flawlessly, no problems whatever I do with it (desktop work, stressing hardware, playing games, etc.). Not a single sign of instability.
It's just the cold boot and sometimes the soft boot or restart that causes the videocard to not being recognized with 2 monitors connected.
What makes it really weird to me is that when the computer goes into sleep mode I can wake it up normally within say 10 minutes. But if I wait for let's say an hour the videocard is not transmitting a signal through the videocard.
When IGP is enabled the computer boots and windows loads normally (I hear the sound of the Windows login), although the monitors stay black when connected to the videocard. Then switching the connectors from the videocard to the motherboard shows me a normal Windows login screen, but the videocard is not visible in the device list. When the IGP is disabled to bootup sequence just hangs until a restart works and the computer boots normally with the videocard getting recognized and working properly.
    Click sounds
I noticed the motherboard makes 4 click sounds when booting, like relays flipping. I think it has to to with distributing power to al the components, since it looks like components respond to the click by turning led lights on. But I have to say I've never come across a motherboard before that makes click sounds. Is this normal?
    Tried fixes
    - Replaced the RAM with 100% working RAM from my other computer (Corsair Vengeance LP CML8GX3M2A1600C9) -> problem persists
    - Disabed XMP -> problem persists
    - Replaced the PSU with another one (Cooler Master V550 Semi-Modular) -> problem persists
    - Reinstalled the videocard physically -> problem persists
    - Tried several combinations of connecting the 2 monitors to the videocard (all DP ports, HDMI and DVI) -> problem persists
    - Replaced the videocard with a MSI GTX970 Gaming (connected with 1xDP and 1xHDMI) -> problem persists
    Conclusions so far
The cause can be found in the videocard or motherboard (probably BIOS issue).
Who can shed some light on this issue?

Try all PCIE slots no luck? Does the black screen always happen on one certain monitor or both?
I tried both the first and the second PCIe slot. No difference except for the fact that in the second slot the card only works at x8 bandwidth.

BTW - Did anybody try to remove the wifi module from the board and then test?
I didn't install the wifi module in the first place.
    UPDATE
I returned the motherboard to the webshop I bought it from and sent my cpu, ram, psu and videocard (GTX980) with it so they could test it. They found out that the videocard is the problem. So now I have to send the videocard to the webshop it bought that from. However, I am suspecting that it's just a VBIOS problem and not some fault in the hardware itself. On the other hand, it would be very strange that MSI would release a videocard that cannot work with one of their own top motherboards, wouldn't it?

  • ATI Theater 550 Pro(MSI Branded)

So, I went through and read some relevant posts, but here's my config for starters:
    MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum
    AMD Athlon64 3200+
    Geforce 6600
    1GB Kingston RAM
    1x80GB
    2x120GB
    MSI Theater 550Pro
    Silverstone LC14M
So, I hear there's a problem with the Motherboard, 6600 series, and the ATI Theater 550's running together.  I don't have the specific BSOD errors. I can get Windows MCE to boot, and to runs just like a normaly XP install.  I can even get the included(from Silverstone)  IMON/Multimedian media center software to use the tuner card.  Windows MCE is a different story, it tells me that the cad has failed or is not installed.  Well, I know it's installed, cause I did the installing, and IMON can seem to use it just fine, but I'd like to try to get Windows MCE to use it.
So, am I SOL, or is there a fix?

Quote from: Dr Stu on 25-July-05, 00:58:18
download and install MCE drivers for your Geforce and 550PRO card
Yeah, I probably should have mentioned that, I'm using the 72.14 Drivers for MCE of nVidias website, and the 6.14.10.86 drivers for MCE for the Theater500 from ATI, and ATI explicitly states MSI as a partner bboard, so I thought I was all kosher.  I did a search for MCE specific platform drivers, but Nvidia doesn't seem to differentiate them.  I'm running the latest nForce4 platform drivers as well.

  • Spotlight NOT working - THE CURE HERE...

ok this is very interesting news from The Apple Store here in the UK.
Apparently (this according to an Apple Genius), Spotlight is a hardware + software command... not just a software search app...
IF SPOTLIGHT IS NOT WORKING ON YOUR INTEL MACBOOK (PRO)... YOU MORE THAN LIKELY HAVE A LOGIC BOARD PROBLEM, AND YOUR MAC MIGHT NEED TO BE REPLACED.
Return to the Apple Store, and get them to look at it.
They just swapped out TWO MACBOOK PRO's FOR US HERE. and now the new ones are perfect.
(Oh yeah, and they upgraded them from 2.0Ghz to 2.16Ghz for FREE!)
    Hope this helps a bit...

    Hi, realitydreamship
You wrote: "Apparently (this according to an Apple Genius), Spotlight is a hardware + software command... not just a software search app..."I'm afraid that you were misinformed. Spotlight is strictly implemented in software. There are no hardware dependencies other than one have a Mac that is Tiger-compatible.
As proof, you can read the Spotlight developer documentation. For example, in this document you will note that no hardware dependencies are cited.
In your case, the problem may have been hardware-related, but those having problems with Spotlight should not begin troubleshooting by looking for a logic board replacement. Based on reports in various fora, there appear to be a good number of new Intel-based Macs that have had logic board replacements. But there are many reasons why Spotlight will not work whose etiology are wholly unrelated to hardware problems.
    Good luck!

  • MSI Branded backpack!!!

Does anyone know where I could purchase a MSI Backpack that will fit the GS70 Stealth Pro?   I've looked all over the web, and no one sells them. The only bag I could find is a bundle offered at http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Description=msi%20backpack&Submit=ENE.
It will fit the 15.6 GS60, but not the MS70, not to mention it's a $200 USD bundle.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
And by the way, I haven't noticed the backpacks by themselves on the MSI website either!!!

This is the one offered on newegg for the GS60, but again it will only fit a 15.6 laptop.
Here's 2 of the MSI backpacks I'd like to try and get ahold of, but I can find them!!!!

  • R9 270X Gaming 2G (V303) – AMD and MSI GPU Application and Control suites

    R9 270X Gaming 2G S/N 602-V303-13SB1312109829-398.
Now I got the following applications running all at the same time and I think it may be unnecessary to run all of them. I think some of them does the same thing really.
    - MSI Afterburner
    - RivaTuner
    - VGA Boost
    - AMD Catalyst Control Center
And sometimes I run AMD Game Evolved and MSI GamingApp as well.
What is your opinion on the different applications that runs to control and modify your GPU settings, what is really needed and what should be avoided is any.
In my case I like MSI Afterburner as it is easy to set the exact overclocking setting I find most stable and RivaTuner is great for in-game monitoring and game video recording. I am not sure what VGA Boost does, but it sound cool so I am running it too. AMD Catalyst Control Center seems unnecessary to me, but I am running it, because perhaps it should. Very confused, I am.

    @Nick
    Thank you for your reply
You said ” I use EVGA's tool (pretty much the same as MSI afterburner), nvidia's control panel and GPU-Z. Nothing else to be fair.”, but do they not do the same sort of thing, EVGA’s tool and NVidia Control Panel. In my case Afterburner and AMD CCC.
That is what I do not get, why should both run at the same time, what does that help.
Sorry for my ignorance if the answer is obvious. I just do not get it. To me, it seems like having two different email programs running and checked the same email account at the same time.
I know a lot of people are doing the same as you mentioned, but why please tell me why

  • My mom and I share an itunes account, and when somebody iMessaged me, she received the message. I made her another account, signed iCloud into that account but her phone keeps on getting my notifications. How do i turn it off without making a new account?

    please help

    1) You asked "Does she need to reconnect to that itunes/computer and if so what do we need to do to remove this folder of pics from her ipod?" Yes, you have to connect the iPod to that computer and go to the Photos pane for the iPod in iTunes and uncheck sync photos and the click on synce/apply. In the future do not check sync photos.
iOS and iPod: Syncing photos using iTunes
    2)
Create a NEW account for using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before.
Creating an iTunes Store, App Store, iBookstore, and Mac App Store account without a credit card
Then on the iPod go to
    - Settings>Messages>Send and receive and sign out your ID and sign into hers. Make sure that only her ID email address is listed.
    - Settings>FaceTime sign out of your ID and sign into hers. Make sure that under You can be reached at only her ID email address is listed
    - Settings>iCloud and sign out and sign in with hers
Contnue to use the commpn ID/account for Settings>iTunes and App stores.

  • Gaming is Anytime, Anywhere - nXa Gaming

nXa Gaming, one of MSI's official sponsored professional e-sports team, featured 1 vs 1 and 2 vs 2 CS:GO & Crysis tournaments in the most prestigious DOTA 2 events. Dedicated to support local e-sport community, MSI recruited the Ladies team as one of the gamer-based Dragon Army years ago.
With the increasing media exposure via performances and exhibitions, nXa Gaming have become the number one female gamers and a widely-loved female game team in Indonesia. Much of the credit for the victory goes to Monica or better known as Nix1a, the leader and founder of the team, and one of the professional and iconic female gamers in Indonesia. The team focuses on FPS games, such as Call of Duty, their competitive game: Counter Strike: Global Offensive, and now even expands their activities to a new DOTA2 ladies team.
Here is an interview with 'Nix1a' Monica Carolina, a leader and founder of nXa-Gaming, talking about the team's success and their next step in the gaming world!
    1. As a core leader of nXa-Gaming team and a reviewer on your website, how do you handle multitasking?
I have my own priority list, and managed to keep it on the schedule. When a game competition is near, I will prioritize the time for practicing the game with my team. Vice versa, if there's no plan for joining a competition, I will focusing on my website but not entirely leave the scheduled practice time.
    2. How do experiences with MSI motivate you or change your life since nXa-Gaming as a MSI brand ambassador?
We knew that MSI are also sponsoring big names on world's best gaming team such as Fnatic, etc. It's really motivates us to be a champion, and to have much more achievement on gaming tournaments like them.
    3. Tell us the most interesting things during the corporation with MSI, which impressed you most??
It's when MSI invited me to visit Taipei, Taiwan for Computex 2013. There is MSI's main event : MSI Gaming Night, I was casually joining the CS:GO competition for fun, but ended up with my team's won the competition and got the MSI Notebooks as a prize that we didn't expect.
    4. How does MSI gaming notebooks facilitate your gaming tournaments regarding your tagline - Gaming is anytime, anywhere?
Thanks to MSI that equipped each of NXA-Gaming ladies team with MSI gaming notebooks, it help us to practice and discussing about the game tactics anytime and anywhere we wanted to get together, either in a café or on the backstage of the tournaments. We have no longer hard times to practices the game only in our room or in a game cafe.
    5. Which event was the most challenging in 2013's tournaments? How did you manage to fight back and beat the rivals in the end?
It was the MSI Beat It 2013 SEA ACG qualifier in Jakarta, Indonesia. We managed to have a stronger and better tactics to beat the rivals in the half of game, then we can win some last rounds, even though we ended up lost the match.
    6. Tell us about Indonesia's gaming environment for female gamers. Would a female gamer bring more media attention than that of a male gamer?
Actually there's a lot of female gamers in Indonesia, but they're only playing casual online games.
I don’t think so.. if those female gamers doesn't have some e-sports achievements then they wouldn't get that media attention. But when they do, like winning tournaments or beat out the male gamers, female gamers can get more media attention rather than male gamers.
    7. As a pro gamer, what is the definition of GAMING to you?
Gaming for me is a kind of hobby that needs some skill in playing games in order to join the competitive gaming scene. As a bonus, gaming can get us prizes if we can win tournaments.
    8. In CS: GO game, is there any team or individual that you would most like to meet in person and to battle with, just like you did with Fatal1ty in 2011? And Why?
Sure, I'm looking forward to meet the whole Fnatic's CS:GO team in the future and have some CS:GO battle or coaching by Fnatic. Because I was a big fan of Fnatic's team, they have the best player on CS and oftenly winning in so many international tournaments. Now, I'm so thankful because of MSI invitation to Taiwan back in 2013, I finally met Patrik "cArn" who's now a CGO at Fnatic. Even though I didn't have chance to have a game battles with him but I did have many pictures together with him. :D
    9. In addition to FPS games, nXa-Gaming team also expands their activities to new DOTA2 games. Tell us more about the new DOTA2 team, and how skills or tactics are significantly different compared with CS:GO?
Yes, I just made a new DOTA2 division who's led by Nadya "KagomeChan", she is the best DOTA2 female player here in Indonesia.
Well, you know CS:GO gameplay are very different from DOTA2 except the needs of a good teamwork in a match. I need to have those players with good skills in DOTA 2's heroes knowledge, along with which skills are the best from each heroes, and how to have a good strategy in-game. While in FPS games division, we're only focusing on the fast reaction aiming skills and good tactical commands.
    10. How do you see the future of eSports?
I think there will be a lot of improvements and bright future in terms of game title to compete, countries scope, total prizes, and the gamers itself. I hope to see the future of eSports to be recognized in global regular sports event like Olympic Games etc.
    11. As a professional gamer, any suggestions for gamers that intend to go pro?
My suggestions.. Practice the game is still #1 but you don't have to leave your real life, and only practicing in from of the computer for a full day. The point is to play the game for fun and reach your goal to be the winner.

Nice post. Gaming is anytime anywhere indeed. What amazing ladies you are to be great on gaming! And your answers were great too.

  • Advancing Gaming Giants-MSI! Me @ 2015 MSI Gaming Computex Press Conference~

Working in an exhibition design company, I had the chance to witness the MSI 2015 Gaming Computex Press Conference. Though I play on-line game occasionally, I kinda like the Gaming products of MSI. One of my classmates gave me a MSI Gaming mouse with LED indicators, it’s gorgeous and handy!
By curiosity, I Googled MSI before the conference. Found out that MSI focused on Gaming Notebooks and high level mobo and graphics for decades, now it is sort of an international gaming leading brand. Its gaming products are definitely dream gears for professional eSport gamers. Seems this company is really something.
After I got the job done, boss allowed me to watch this conference. Stepped into the hall, I saw the giant size dragon mascot. And there was a photo sticker machine and a claw vending machine; everyone couldn’t refuse to stop steps to the entertainments.
In the conference hall, there were demo sections of MSI gaming series products. Variety of high level notebook, mobo, graphics, AIO, desktop, and etc. are all here for the participants to try out. More and more participants came and got to know the latest products of MSI.
The seats were taken very soon by the presses, vendors, and employees. I located myself at an inconspicuous corner to observe the event. In a while, the lights dimmed, and the conference started officially.
The main stage was designed in red, black and white colors, the 3 elements of MSI Gaming, and decorated with the MSI Gaming Dragon shield. Several pretty models went up to the stage one after the other to show the latest products to the crowd.
One more highlight of the conference was MSI senior managers and professional speakers to present the new products and new technologies. After that, several important IT companies introduced their cooperation with MSI. By this way, MSI products look really taking comprehensive advantages.
Everyone was focus on listening to the introductions. I was also very touched, and admired MSI branding much more.
At the end of the conference, MSI announced hot news. The MSI BeatIT gaming tournament which MSI held for 5 continuously years is renamed to MSI MGA (Masters Gaming Arena) global gaming tournament. In cooperation with world leading gaming company, ESL. The regional qualifiers start in June, and the global final will be held in August in Seattle, USA. Holly…! This is really a big enterprise; hold the global event out of the ordinary.
The whole conference showed the determination and effort of MSI on Gaming products and the industry. Really impressive.
