Spotlight results don't include Contacts

For some reason, I'm not getting any Contacts in my Spotlight results. I went into System Preferences / Spotlight, and Contacts is the first checked choice.
Do I need to re-index? Is there some other way to point Spotlight to Contacts?

So I get a lot of cellular calls from friends on my land line house phone. All my Caller-ID says is 'Cellular Call'. I recently upgrade to Leopard (currently running 10.5.7).
I used to be able (running Tiger) to type in the last four digits of the phone number in Spotlight and before the third ring, Spotlight would have found the contact in Address Book and display the name of the contact. In Address Book I can type the four digits and it'll find the contact fine. Type the same four digits in Spotlight and it won't find the contact.
I have:
1) rebuilt Spotlight's database numerous times via Spotlight's Preferences (adding the volume to Privacy, restart the Macintosh, removing the volume from Privacy)
2) uncehecked and rechecked Contacts in Search Results
Any ideas?

If you have performed a sync with the device since you restored this old backup, then don't bother looking for another backup. iTunes writes over the last backup each time you sync. If you were handling contacts in iCloud, you would find them by logging into iCloud. Or you can check settings and iCloud and see if the button it on for Contacts. Otherwise it might have been on the computer, if you had a program that syncs with iTunes and handles contacts, depending on the computer system you use. If Windows, it would be Windows Contacts or Outlook. If a Mac, there is a Mac Address book as well.

"other" category in spotlight results

Hello!
Starting with Mavericks I get some unwanted spotlight results.
I use spotlight only to search for applications, so that is the only category I have selected.
Now, when I search for something spotlight will show me a category named "Other" containing all sorts of files.
How can i get rid of this?
I have seen someone else having this problem and what he did is, he blocked all folders that would contain those results.
But that cant be the answer. I can't go and block a million folders all over my harddisk. (at least I don't want too )
Maybe someone has an answer to that!

Spotlight results locations

Hello, I was looking for a mail message that I was sure was still in my inbox by typing in a word from it in Spotlight. The message appeared in the results, but I don't know where it is located within. I saw a topic in here about Control- or Command- clicking on the result and then selecting Open Enclosing Folder but the only thing that happens when I do that is the message shows in my Desktop and there is no option to select anything. Can someone help me find where this message is? Thanks!

Ok, I clicked on the message in the Spotlight results then when I clicked on Show in Mailbox, though, it just brought the Mail window to the front. Hmm, maybe it isn't in the Mail library, I thought. But when I followed sig's instructions the message I was looking for happened to be the fifth one down (sorry, I just migrated over from a PC and just now figured out what 'home' is). I previewed each of the messages using Quick Look, but would rather something tell me that this message was 3893.emlx right off. I then wanted to put the message back in my Inbox so I dragged it over to POP-username/INBOX.mbox/Messages, but it doesn't show up in the Mail window Inbox. Hmm... Should I not be able to 'restore' the message to my Inbox? Am I doing something wrong?
Also, I looked for Show Paths in both Mail and Finder helps but no luck. Where is that?
Well, the message definitely exists on my drive, but it doesn't want to behave like a mail message anymore. : ( Any suggestions? Thanks for the help!

Spotlight does not search by contact in Messages

Can anyone please help me or at least explain to me why this is happening to my Messages app
1. This image shows my Messages Inbox. Note that I have messages from Mike De Castro, Sandy Layug and Chris Santos.
2. Problem is when I search using Spotlight within Messages. In most cases, Spotlight does not behave correctly. I am able to type in the word i want to search but it doesn't seem to search the Contacts -- only the content.
(a) tried searching for "Sandy", it didn't give any search results;
(b) tried searching "Mike", it gave me a message from Mike De Castro (contact search) and a message from Khai (content search);
(c) tried searching "Chris", it only gave me messages that contains the word "chris" in the message but no contact named "Chris".
This has been a pain in the *** since I search messages by Contact and not by content. This works fine before.
I hope you could help me find a solution to this. Tried the search on my wife's 4s (5.0.1) and it works properly.
I am using a 4s on IOS 6.0.1.
On Spotlight Search under General Settings, Contacts has a check mark.
This happens in Messages only. Searching by contact in Mail works fine.

I had this same problem. Called apple and no fix. I completely reset my phone (erased everything) and set it up as a new phone again. Works perfect now. Go to Settings- General - Reset - Erase all content and settings.

In address book on BB i don't view contacts in a group of contacts

I've this problem:
In my address book on the BB, i don't view contacts in a group of contacts.
I've added a group of contact in Outlook 2007 with two contacts inside. On the BB i've seen the group of contact but no the contacts inside. I have a BES server 5.0.3 with Exchange 2007.
Any solutions?

The issue has nothing to do with your MacBook Pro. You are using a different version of OS X.
If you are using Apple's Mail application, it will search both previous contacts and the address book as you type the send address.

Dictionary no longer appears in the Spotlight results.

The Mac dictionary no longer appears in the Spotlight results. I have reindexed the hard drive, but that did not help. The stand alone Dictionary application launches fine. Suggestions?

The dictionary works just fine to me.

You may also have to create an allow exception to keep this cookie.
In case you are using "Clear history when Firefox closes":

when you have default linkage, flash player first checks if the framework libraries are in flash player cache if not it dowloads them .. i tried to upload to the ftp all project files incudling framework libraries and it still doesn't work . how can i fix that ? or there is no way but to merge framework libraries to my swf file

Including Contact person detials in MDG 6.1 - Customer

Hello All,
While Creating MDG - Customer, I need to include Contact person information. I can see Contact Person tab in Customer FPM screen(Organisation type) but not able to relate to Business Partner ID.
My specific questions are
1. How to create BP/Customer with Contact Person?
2. Do we need to create Contact Person first and then relate to BP/Customer? If so, how i can i co-relate that ealier created Contact person with my current CR, which is being created for Customer.
3. I need to create Customer that includes Contact person details under same CR.
Please suggest me how to go forward?

Looks like the Contact Person needs to be created in role BUP001 as a Business Partner first.
Then after activating the Contacts functionality you will have the following subscreen in the UI:
Clicking on the New button will allow you to select the Contact Person from the Busines Partners table and also to specify data you need like address, function, etc. See below:
Hope that helps you get the idea on how it works...
Perhaps someone who played more with it would be able to contribute here , it's an interesting topic.

This is only an option on iOS, because IPA structure keeps icons in the "root" of the application. Even then, I shouldn't have to manually overwrite the filenames when the ADT command already knows their correct names and location within the package.
But on Adroid, this is impossible, because the icons in the APK structure are outside of the "root" of the application. And ADT command does not let me add files outside of the application root.

You can transfer your purchases before you start, to make sure all apps and purchased media is part of your iTunes library on your computer.

If you have corrupt data inside the backup, this is the only way to find out. If the behavior does not change, you can use the backup again to get all your settings back.
