Spotlight Searches in Lion no longer have "title/content" option in Finder?

Hi:
I upgraded to Lion and notice that when I use spotlight to search I no longer have the option on the top bar for choosing either "contents" or "title" in finder. The option for current directory or "this Mac" still is there, but not the other. Can I restore that option? Or is it gone forever? Thank you in advance !

I noticed the same thing. Please help! Searching by "title" is extremely useful. There should at least be a shortcut for searching by title (a la wildcard searches in Google using the asterisk).

how do i help my MBP finish indexing the spotlight search now that i've upgraded to Lion?

After Lion upgrade my TM took a long time and subsequent TM back ups should have been trivial but also took a long time. I searched google and found this:

which suggests to turn TM off, then delete the .Spotlight-V100 file at the root level of the partition that contains the TM directory. My TM location is a network drive on a Mac Mini, so I had to mount the network drive on the MacMini, then double click the sparse bundle to mount the TM directory, cd into the TM partition, then
sudo rm -r .Spotlight-V100
Now my TM backups are very fast.

No longer have my pin, can i find it anywhere else...

as the title says, can i find my comes with music pin anywhere? i no longer have the box/pin/manuals etc the phone came in.
ive been trying to get nokia to let me register my pc on their music service, but since my last pc crashed (hard drive failure) i have to wait 90 days, i contacted support and they require my comes with music pin before they will release the 90 day lock and allow me to register a new pc.
so again is there any way to find this pin, or am i just going to have to wait?

I no longer have a "Sign" option in version 10.1.6

Up until last week I was able to sign documents with Adobe Reader X v 10.1.6. I attempted to click the "Sign" button one time and it just disappeared. This seems to be an office-wide issue, but our other location has the same version and is not having these problems. The company I get the forms from only has certain ones designated as "fillable" but even the other ones were able to be filled in using the Sign and then Add Text option. I'm getting really really frustrated as it seems I've tried everything to fix this issue. Any advice?

Photoshop CC needs at least OSX 10.7-10.9
You may be able to install and run it on 10.6.8, but as I understand it the rules for generating thumbnails has changed with Apple and CC writes them to suit the required OSX.
Photoshop CS6 will always give you image thumbnails but CC and CC 2014 have had thumbnails generated differently for the required OSX.
You will have to upgrade to 10.7,10.8, or 10.9

When importing a cd on to itunes where is the original file kept because my itunes folder doesn't have it, the song does come up when i spotlight search it but i can't locate it

i cannot seem to find where the original file for tracks that have been imported from a cd are kept because they are not in the itunes folder, however the song is somewhere as it does show up on spotlight search and plays when i click it. where would i find it?!

It will be in the iTunes media folder location shown in iTunes prefs > Advanced.
Select the song, right click > Show file in Finder.

I no longer have the firefox Included search engines preloaded, where can I go to download those add-ons?

Had some computer difficulties. After some fixes I couldn't connect to the internet through Firefox. Found problem and fixed it, but not before reseting my firefox as a possible fix. Now I'm missing the preloaded Included search engines. In the window "Manage Search Engines", I no longer have any preloaded search engines. I can download one as an add-on, but I dont want to fish through all the different ones out there. I just want the searches that Firefox had pre-loaded. Is there a way to redownload and install those search engines for the toolbar without removing and reinstalling Firefox? Can I be directed to the links for those specific "what should be pre-loaded" add-ons to add them manually?

Do you still have the xml files of the default search engines in the searchplugins folder in the Firefox program folder?

Spotlight Search/Contact Search

Appears that Apple is misleading what the spotlight and contact search function can do on the 3.0 software update. First, spotlight will not search the content of emails.... just the header/title. Secondly, neither spotlight nor contact search will search all the fields in a contact. Just raised this issue through a one-on-one session at a local apple store, and all the employees in the store were surprised as they too thought the 3.0 update would do this. It's abt setting expectations and delivering. At the 12:10 mark on the Apple online video, there is discussion abt the search function, and it leads one to believe that all the fields in contacts are searched. Very disappointed as I've 3,000+ contacts and will not remember all the names/company names. Are there any applications that will search all fields in a contact... including the note field? This is my first iPhone. Thanks.

I have sent messages to Apple Feedback requesting true Spotlight search in Contacts. I have been very frustrated that the iPhone still cannot perform a search that equals what my first Palm PDA could provide. MobileMe does not provide a workaround because the search feature in MobileMe does not look in the Notes field.
Today I discovered an iPhone App that searches the "Notes" and other fields in Contacts! Contact Tool from Alessandro Levi Montalcini. While not perfect, because it is a little slow, but it does work. A well spent $1.99 for a feature that Apple should be providing.

Does Spotlight Search HTML Files?

I have a folder full of HTML files I just imported to my MacBook about a week ago. They have been backed up by my Time Capsule. But when I search for keywords in the contents of them, they do not show up. The file names will show up, but none of the contents (which are mainly text). I have tried to force Spotlight to search only the folder that contains the files, but it does not seem to be searching the HTML files.
Are HTML file contents excluded from Spotlight searches? I seem to have a number of webpages that come in Spotlight for keyword searches that appear to be the result of searching the file contents. So is there a trick to this? Is there some way I can force Spotlight to index this folder? Just not sure why it seems to search the contents of some HTML files and not others.

No, HTML files are not excluded.
Open System Preferences > Spotlight, under Search Results tab is Webpages checked?
If yes, download a new html file and see if Spotlight finds it. If yes, then it could be a permissions issue with the files you imported. Do a Get Info and compare permissions between the new and old files.
You can reset your permissions on all your files similar to Disk Utility using the Recovery Drive. See instructions here:

I am still have issues with the indexing in spotlight and mountain lion. I have tried all sollutions ( I gues not all as it is still not fixed) but i tried to trash the V100 file and reindex again. Now it basically indexes when ever it does not give a time sometimes it indexes for 5 min then again for an hour and it seriously slows down the system

Iphone 6 shows SEARCH IPHONE instead of SPOTLIGHT SEARCH when swipe down the middle of screen. really worried...i'm on ios 8.1 ???please help

According to my device, if you have Spotlight Suggestions and Bing Web Results turned on in Settings>General>Spotlight Search, it will show "Spotlight Search". If you have them turned off, it will show "Search iPhone".
If you have those two options turned on, try toggling them off and then back on again and see if that clears it up. If it doesn't, try resetting your device (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears. Once the Slide to Unlock screen displays, go to your Home screen and try the Spotlight search again.
