Spotlight Using Wrong Date .... And Changing It

Apologies in advance, as I know someone else must have already written about this and my cursory search didn't locate it.
Searching for email messages containing specific text, and Spotlight does this well. Shift to the Show All window, allowing me to zero in on dates of specific interest.
When any message is selected it opens in Mail, as expected. Unexpected, however, was the date then changing over to current date & time.
It seems Spotlight is using something like 'Date last opened' or something like that? Not created or modified? That must be it, but I can't for the life of me understand why they would choose that date, nor find any way to change it over to something more useful.
TIA for any inputs, advice, assistance.

Oh well .... another mystery of the sea.

    All mails in my inbox are displaying date at 1429 a.c. Although through my web gmail interface, dates are correct the mac client is fault. I also tried with Thunderbird e-mail client and i also get wrong date and time. I checked the date and time preferences and everything is correct.  Any suggestions?

    Hi,
    In the Initial screen, please remove the tick for Display Header. It will not give any header details after execution. If you want to remove only date, you just check with your ABAPer, he can help by changing in program.

    Unfortunatly the only way that you can get it off is to get the old user to input the password.  You may need to contact that old user and see if he can put the old password in.  hope this helps.

    When formatting your column to date/time, pick Date & time, and then pick the letter i in the circle to the right. Then scroll down and pick "No time"

    A guest at our house was using his ipad and changed the apple netwrok name to another and put a password on it.  How do I eliminate this netwrok and get back to the Apple Network?

    Please check out the following AirPort User Tip for details on resetting the password. Once that is done, you can access the base station to change its Wireless Name (or SSID) back to what you prefer. To discourage other "guests" from changing the AirPort settings, you should also change the default base station Administrator password.

  • Date selection will not print properly when using Microsoft Date and Time Picker Control 6.0 in Excel 2010

    I have created a field input worksheet in which the user identifies start and end dates for training sessions, using the Date and Time Picker Active X Control.  It works fine on-screen, but when the worksheets are printed, the dates that were selected
    using the date picker calendar print out in an unreadable, huge font.  The large font also appears in the print preview mode.  I've tried modifying various properties in design mode, but nothing that I have tried will correct the problem.
    Any ideas?

    The DTPicker seems to have some bugs in it when used on a worksheet. I have overcome the above by setting the size properties to the same size as a cell and the Linked cell property to the
    cell under the DTPicker. (Even setting the Linked cell had problems with an error message referring to the Check box property to be set to true so I just set it to true and inserted the linked cell and set the checkbox property back to
    false.)
    Then the VBA code below that Hides the DTPicker after a date is selected and unhides the DTPicker when the linked cell with the date is selected. The code is for 2 DTPickers so you will need to edit to suit your requirements.
    Caveat: If the DTPicker is visible then you can't hide it by selecting the same date again. If this occurs then it is a multi step operation. First select another date and the DTPicker will hide, then click on another cell then back on the cell with
    the date to unhide the DTPicker and then select the correct date.
    Hope it helps and feel free to get back to me with any questions etc.

    when i print the new Date() it prints the same
    It does because of backward compatability. This constructor exists in version 1.3.1 but not in newer versions.Really ? Please point me to where you read that.

  • Samsung Galaxy S 5 - using automatic date and time

    Using automatic date and time sets the date to November 27, 2014 instead of the correct date of September 25, 2014. What's going on? I haven't ever had a problem with this setting before.

    Clear phone system cache & place phone in Airplane mode then do a power down (not a restart) of the phone. Next remove both SIM card and battery & wait for 1 minute or so. Then reinstall the SIM & battery and power phone on. If your signal is strong this should reset your data channel to the correct time.

  • Grub uses wrong UUID and cannot create config file

    I've tried performing an installation to a USB drive as per the wiki. Everything works up until I try to boot and grub tries to load the wrong UUID for my / filesystem.
    My next step was to chroot back into the USB install and manually change the UUID to the correct one. Odd, as others have pointed out in this thread
    the grub-mkconfig command should detect the correct UUID if run from within arch-chroot.
    Anyway, after changing the UUID in /boot/grub/grub.cfg and trying to regenerate the config file with `grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg` I noticed the file had not changed. This is because the command is exiting successfully, but isn't actually writing any file. I deleted the file and tried the command again to be sure. No new file.
    Next I booted into grub, using the config generated with the wrong UUID, and dropped to the shell using `c` -- I was able to load my install just fine using
    set root=(hd0,gpt2)
    linux /vmlinuz-linux root=/dev/sdb3 ro
    initrd /initramfs-linux.img
    boot
    From there I tried removing the bad config file and recreating it using the `grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg` command... no dice. Does anyone know what is going on? At the least the command should tell me that it is failing, no?

    Attached is the output of `grub-mkconfig` running from the chroot.

  • BC4J Query by example for dates uses wrong date format

    When querying by example on date fields, I get the following nested exceptions:
    oracle.jbo.SQLStmtException: JBO-27121: SQL error during statement execution.
    JBO-26044: Error while getting estimated row count for view object
    and
    java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01830: date format picture ends before converting entire input string.
    It would seem to be caused by the following clause added to the end of the entity object's query:
    "QRSLT WHERE ( ( (DATE_FIELD = TO_DATE('23/12/2003', 'yyyy-mm-dd')) ) )"
    which causes problems as our entity objects use a 'dd/MM/yyyy' date format.
    Is there a way we can make the query by example use the same date format as the rest of our app?

    I‘m not an expert on this but I see nobody is replying so this might help you. I've been having problems with dates as well and I‘m pretty sure that the attached formatter isn't used in find mode. That is because the java date class (can't remember which one) used by the BC4J has the format yyyy-mm-dd. I don't now if it is possible to change it but I got around the problem by writing my own domain. You can take a look at Toystore demo, by Steve Muench, that uses a custom date domain, ExpirationDate (see the code below). It is mapped to a VARCHAR column in the database but it is possible to map it to a DATE column.
    I have been watching the postings with questions about dates and I have noticed that a lot of people have problems with this but I haven’t seen an answer yet.
    package toystore.model.datatypes.common;
    import java.io.Serializable;
    import java.text.SimpleDateFormat;
    import java.util.Calendar;
    import java.util.Date;
    import oracle.jbo.Transaction;
    import oracle.jbo.domain.DataCreationException;
    import oracle.jbo.domain.DomainInterface;
    import oracle.jbo.domain.DomainOwnerInterface;
    // --- File generated by Oracle Business Components for Java.
    * This custom datatype implements an immutable domain class that
    * maps to a VARCHAR column containing values like '10/2004' representing
    * expiration dates of credit cards. We could have chosen to implement
    * this as a domain that stores itself in a DATE column instead of a
    * VARCHAR column, but since the Java Pet Store demo schema stored the
    * information in a VARCHAR column, we decided to illustrate how to
    * accommodate that case using domains.
    public class ExpirationDate implements DomainInterface, Serializable {
    private Date mDate;
    private String mDateAsString;
    protected ExpirationDate() {
    mDate = new Date();
    convertDateToStringFormat();
    * Return the value of the expiration date as a java.util.Date
    public Date getDateValue() {
    return mDate;
    * Allow expiration date to be constructed from two
    * strings representing month and year
    public ExpirationDate(String monthVal, String yearVal) {
    this(monthVal+'/'+yearVal);
    public ExpirationDate(String val) {
    validate(val);
    convertDateToStringFormat();
    * The getData() method must return the type of object that JDBC will
    * see for storage in the database. Since we want this ExpirationDate
    * datatype to map to a VARCHAR column in the database, we return the
    * string format of the date
    public Object getData() {
    return mDateAsString;
    * <b>Internal:</b> <em>Applications should not use this method.</em>
    public void setContext(DomainOwnerInterface owner, Transaction trans, Object obj) {

    * in the format of MM/YYYY. Note that in the process of testing whether

  • Bridge CS6 overwrites EXIF data and changes image orientation.

    Hi,
    I seem to be having issue with Bridge CS6 overwriting or corrupting my image EXIF data.
    The situation is this, while in Bridge CS6, I open a folder with some images in it. There I select one image. Right-click on it and select File Info. In the XMP dialogue box I fill in the fields I need and save this file as a template. Then, I select the rest of the images, go to Tools and choose Replace Metadata. In the fly-out, select and click the template I've just created and this is where I have the issue. All the updated images now have the the same date and time. I NEVER had this happen in Bridge CS5. In Bridge CS5, while all the IPTC data was overwritten, the EXIF data was left alone. This does not seem to be the case in Bridge CS6 where both the IPTC and EXIF data now seem to be overwritten. If this is the case, need to ask why?
    Hope someone here can confirm and comment on this. Cheers.

    Then, I select the rest of the images, go to Tools and choose Replace Metadata.
    You have to choose 'Append Metadata'  this adds the template to the already existing data instead of overwriting the already existing data.
    And without knowing your needs or workflow, why don't you create a template (or some extra if you have specific difference you often use) with the most common and always used info (copyright etc) and add this to al your files.
    Then when in Bridge choose the metadata panel with IPTC core section in view.
    Select the files you want to alter and in the Metadata click on a field with the pencil icon (means you can add info to it) and fill in the fields you need the info in. If keywords needed switch to the keyword panel to add the wanted keywords to the selected files.
    Just another approach that might be more suitable and faster.

    however the time of photos shown is 15 hours faster than it was capture.
    Do anyone can tell me how to solve it? i want to add back all my old photos from my iphone 4 to my new iphone

    Hey Tom -
    Apologize for the delayed reply here. Below is what was emailed to me from the P.M. (yes, Product Manager) for FCPX:
    "We do try to go into the DV packets during capture and pull out the original date of the capture that’s found in the bitstream.
    However—The DV format spec does not require the original date be in the bitstream, and if it’s not there—we have no choice but to use the current date.
    So, I can see how what you are describing could happen. Some of the footage has the date, and some doesn’t.   If it’s there—it will be used, but we’re sometimes seeing it go missing."
