Spotty access to Verdana

I'm officially clueless as to why this would be happening, but for some reason a few apps (most notably Firefox and Word) have been unable to recognize/load Verdana for a few days now. The problem started about the same time I started evaluating Linotype's FontExplorer X, but switching back to my old font manager hasn't fixed the issue. And what's weirder is that Verdana's up and running just fine, as near as I can tell: other applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) load it just fine.
I managed to fix this on my Powerbook (permanently, I hope) by deleting a bunch of other Verdanas that weren't located in /Library/Fonts/, and then restarting. However, taking the same approach on my PowerMac didn't yield any results.
I'm obviously pretty clueless when it comes to font management on a Mac. Anyone have any suggestions/pointers? Thanks for your help, all.

How do I identify the ports to open on my cisco router from Rogers to allow access through my apple tv - I am not using wireless!

I only have spotty access at best through m Apple TV to itunes, netflix and utube. I am Rogers subscriber (feel my pain) and am now using their CISCO DCP3825 router. Apple TV purchased this past Christmas. I am not using wireless. No issues prior to replacing my old router and Rogers modem to go to DCP3825.
Apple TV is up to date - updated by connecting to my Macbook Pro.
Rogers tech support was of no help - suggested I open some ports - where do I go for the list(s)?
Any help would be much approeciated.

Can't load web pages?

in the past few days I have been unable to load certain webpages (google, hotmail), and have had spotty access to others (gmail, certain yahoo pages). Also, many images are not displaying. I downloaded Firefox and experienced the same problems, so it seems as if Safari may not be the problem. I've tried rebooting my computer multiple times only to experience the same results. My hard drive only has about 250 megs of space left, but it's been like this for months and I haven't had these website problems before. Any advice?

Permanently download itunes onto iphone and get rid of the clouds. ;)

I'm confused about the whole cloud thing. I want my music to be on my iphone and not have to download it when I want to play a playlist. I find it very frustrating when I'm driving and can't just play my music. I live in a rural area and have spotty access.
Not sure what I did that I just can't play my music with ease. One day suddenly my music was invaded by clouds and it was all out of reach.
I'm beyond tech challenged, obviously.

Just sync the iphone to the itunes computer you usually connect to. In the music tab, you can choose which songs you want to sync from computer to device. Don't need icloud at all.

We have eighteen Cisco Aironet wireless access points (most of them are AIR-AP1231G-A-K9 with 12.3(2)JA2 IOS loaded) across our campus which people have weird issues with connecting.
Everywhere, people can associate and get an IP address without any issues. However, they cannot maintain a reliable connection to systems either on our network or off. They will get a web page to load and then it drops them out. In addition, they cannot connect back again for random intervals of time. To make this even more bizarre is that for random intervals they maintain a solid connection until it kicks people out again.
The vlan itself (60 in the configuration file below) works without issue as we have devices plugged in directly to the vlan via a hardwired port and they are stable.
Below is the configuration file. Any reason why we would have this issue?

Couple of suggestions before moving forward:
1. I would first secure these WLANs with a least a pre-shared key if possible(WPA/WPA2). Let me know if you need information on how to do this.
2. Next, I would remove the 'short-slot-time' on the radio:

If your users continue to have issues, I would want more information on the types of clients in the environment as well as wireless adapter make/model/driver version.

MS Access, ODBC and SPs returning ref cursor

I have some functions and procedures in a package returning ref cursors that work fine in my C++ batch applications. I would like for the GUI to be able to call these as well.
Unfortunately, we are using Access as the front end (for now), and we have not been able to get the ref cursors to work. Is this supported? We are using Oracle 8.0.5 on Solaris, and our clients is Access 97 on NT using Intersolv's ODBC driver.
My procedure looks something like:

We tried the {call...} syntax originally, but when we use it, we get an Oracle syntax error for the statement
SELECT * FROM {call ...}
Apparently Access prepends "SELECT..." before passing the SQL text to Oracle.
This is also the case for procedures with normal scalars, such as numbers, returned as OUT values. When we use anon PL/SQL syntax and "?" placeholders with such procedures, they work. When we use {call ...} syntax or omit OUT placeholders, they do not.

Not able to access a file referenced from a HTML file

Using UCM i am checking two files aboutus.html and aboutusBanner.png in About Us FOLDER.Checkin is happening perfectly well.
Now In JDEVELOPER I am creating a webcenter application (named MyPortalApplication) and accessing those file using a connection to the UCM server.I am able to fetch the files under
Application Resouces->Connection ->Content Repository ->UCM ->Contribution Folder ->About Us
UCM I am using a connection name.
My aboutus.html file in accessing the aboutusBanner.png to display some image.

If you want to create a reference to a file in UCM (document repository), you need to do it differently. The easiest way (if your file is in Public security group) is to use html link to the file: e.g. http://{serverURL}/{instance name}/groups/public/documents/graphic/oly_088631.jpg (search for the file in UCM and copy the link from the search result dialog).
A better way is to use SSXA - see this manual http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/doc.1111/e13650/toc.htm - when your html will be constructed from a template and the image will be defined through a placeholder (you will learn to use placeholders in Chapter 3 of the manual). Since PS3, SSXA should be usable for Webcenter pages.

How to access an EJB from a web application deployed in the same server

I deployed an EJB named EventServerBean to Sun Application Server 9.0, and put the client side jar file (named eventserver.jar which is generated by Sun Application Server) to C:\Sun\AppServer\lib. Now, I have a web application which is a simple jave file -- lookup EventServer EJB and invoke a remote method in this EJB. However, the web application always throws an exception "java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: eventserver/EventServerRemoteHome"

Itunes will not open after uninstall and re-download, I only get a message itunes match accessing itunes store which goes on for a long time

I could not open I-tunes. I had used it a week before but it was spotty and then eventually it would not open at all. I uninstalled it then downloaded it. I restarted the computer. When I tried to open itunes, I got a message "ITunes match. Accessing iTunes store" and it does not go beyond that. I've tried this process twice. I had my Norton support service do a tuneup and they downloaded iTunes but it will still not work. help!

SP 2010 - Getting "An unexpected error has occurred. " message when accessing Sharepoint site after windows update - Windows 7 Home Premium

I am new to SP 2010. I have installed Share point 2010 server (trial version) on my Windows 7 Home Premium Laptop by following the below link.

Everything went fine and was able to see the new sharepoint site after completing configuration wizard. SP2010 Central Admin also worked fine.
However, after windows update, sharepoint site is not working. I was able to see the site working for more than a day before windows update. SP2010 Central Admin is still working. Executed "PSCONFIG" after
update but still no good.
I saw a warning "The Security Token Service is not available" in Central Admin and did some research to fix the issue but nothing worked.

How to find out which Tables have been accessed without looking at the SQL query ?

I would like to know is there a way to find out what queries have been executed and on which tables without looking at the SQL query.
I have an old C++ code which calls some library functions to access the Oracle database. The source code for the library is not available to me yet. The functions selects/updates/deletes and inserts based on some input parameters I give. I do not know which tables it affects. How do I find out the actual SQL query and/or the tables it accesses ? I was told about V$SQL table that
has the most recently executed queries, but
I did'nt see any queries connected to my process.
Could anybody help me on this ?

PRECISE/SQL can help you if you have access to it
2nd option can be that turn on SQL_TRACE
Run executable of ur c++ program
it will create a trace file in user_dump_dest
and then using TKPROF u can see all quesries and their plan also.

I'm running an AEBS (b/g) to share my DSL network. I'm also running 2 Airport Expresses to extend the network, along with 4 Sonos Zoneplayers, an NAS drive (for the Sonos), and a Slingbox. I use a Dual 2.0 G5 tower in my office and a G4 iBook for internet access, both wireless. All components are assigned their IP addresses from the AEBS via DHCP.
All works perfectly except for the iBook, which more often than not has verrry slow internet access. The iBook is within about 12 feet of one of the Airport Expresses, and always shows 3 or 4 bars of strength, although the quality of the web access is spotty.
Short of getting another Airport Express, is there a way of troubleshooting the Airport Express that I'm using for that iBook? Or could there be another issue that I'm not thinking of?

1. when i plug my ipod mini in to the computer using usb cable my actual computer reconises it but my itunes doesnt so like nothing hapeens so i cant up date my ipod !
2. if i update to itunes 7 the new est one will i lose my music coz i have 7k songs on (i share itunes with family you see)

Not able to access the Oracle9i wireless edition home page

We are getting the following error when trying to access the personalization portal(By typing http://<hostname:port>/portal/Login.jsp) on Oracle9i wireless edition.
Error:
The requested URL /servlets/oracle.jsp.JspServlet was not found on this server.
Can anyone please help me with the solution

Make sure the panama.zip, panama_core.zip , panama_pasm.zip are in the wrapper.classpath in the jserv.properties file. Also cross with the installation guide and verify all the mentioned paths are in wrapper.classpath
