Sprint Connection Manager with Palm 700p

I'm having a problem with the Sprint Connection Manager.  Recently I had to replace my HD as the old one was degrading and about to fail.  On the old HD I had no problem using my phone as a modem and connecting to the internet.  After installing the new HD I went threw and ran all the updates for XP and have it upto SP2.  I installed the latest Palm Desktop software from Palm (V4.2) and installed the latest Connection Manager from Sprint (V3.07.045).  I have no problem hot syncing my Palm 700p to the desktop software.   However, when I run the Sprint Connection Manager, it wont recognize that the phone is connected.  The message to connect your phone remains in the window.  I can go into device manager and even Query the modem with no problem.   I've uninstalled the connection manager program and the palm software and then reinstalled them several times.  I even installed it on another desktop computer with the same results.  If I put the old drive back in place it works find and I have no problem connection to the internet.  I spent over an hour on the phone with Sprint and they referred me back to Palm.
Does anyone have any idea what might be causing the problem?  I've tuned off the firewall with no change.

Post relates to: Treo 700p (Sprint)

I am experiencing the same problem, however it appears to be related to a recent download of the 700p updater rather than to changing out a hard drive.  Otherwise the same--Connection Manager does not recognize that the phone is connected.  Hot synch works, so it's not the USB port or the cable.  I'm out of ideas (I, too, have uninstalled/reinstalled everything I can think of).  Sprint is less than helpful.  David, have you solved your problem and if so, how?  Any ideas, anyone?
Thanks a bunch

    Hans,
    There are two issues here:
    1. Connecting to the db from JDeveloper (the correct driver?)
    2. Connecting to the db from an Applet
    In order to narrow down the problem domain, try connecting from
    the InfoBus Wizard using the correct dirver (for driver info see
    posting on March 22 titled "JDeveloper can't connect to Oracle")
    Hope this helps.

  • Using SIT connection manager with large simulink models is extremely slow

    Hello,
    I'm trying to use a large simulink model in LabVIEW but once the DLL is correctly generated and the SIT connection manager is invoked to explore the model sinks, sources and parameters, it takes hours to generate the model connections tree. Afterwards, when the connections tree is completed, it is impossible to handle it because every operation performed takes a lot of time and memory (i.e. to expand a block to see which parameters are inside).
    The version of SIT I'm using is 2.0.3 with LabVIEW 7.1.
    Is there anybody experienced with large simulink models and SIT?
    Thanks and regards.

    The VI in the Driver VI called SIT Initialize Model.vi has an input called time step (sec) (-1: use model time step) which does what you want it to. It doesn't actually affect the time step of the solver used in the built model DLL, just the rate at which the main base rate loop actually runs in real time. In fact, base rate loop period would be a better name for this control. If you set it, you won't alter your model, but you will be able to adjust the rate of the base rate loop.
    Simply create a control from this input terminal on your driver VI and fill in an appropriate period in seconds. Make sure to set this value as default in the control so that the Driver VI remembers it.
    You will have to take into account that your model will still think it's running at the time step it was compiled at. So your model simulation time and the actual wall clock time won't match up.

  • HotSync connection issue with Palm Treo 800w Sprint work around Solved !!!

    I just switched from my Treo Palm Treo 755p to the The Palm Treo  800w. For the life of me I couldn't figure out why though everything was connected via USB. The Microsoft ActiveSync would work once or twice then nothing . Though I knew it was connected the charge wouldn't work either.
    Here is my work around and it never fails.
    If you see the Red light or Green light on your phone while connected Via the USB that means you are connected you can sync and charge.
    If you don't see the red/green light on or see the phone in My computer > Mobile devices.
    Plug your phone in via the USB. While it's plugged in take the battery out . Then put the battery back in. You know you are good when you see the red light or green light  turn on. Red light means charging Green light means its fully charged.
    I have connected every time using the take out the battery method and my Treo 800w charges / Microsoft syncs the works!!
    Hope this helps I tried everything before I figured this out.

  • Connection problems with PALM TX and WRT160N router

    I purchased a WRT160N wireless router. My computers connected with no problems, but when I attempted to connect my Palm TX I ran into a bunch of problems. At first the Palm would not even find the network. I eventually was able to configure the router so that the Palm can now find the network, but it still will not connect. I have removed the security from the network and rebooted both with no luck. I read that I am supposed to set the type to b/g mixed, frequency to 40 mghz, the wide channel to 6 and the other channel to 8. I was able to set the b/g mixed, the frequency to 20, the wide channel defaults to 3 (I cannot change this) and the other channel to 8. Any ideas?

    Changing Router to b/g Mixed fixed the problem.
    I had the same trouble. I've been trying to connect my Palm TX to my brand new Linksys WRT160N for a day and a half. Tried EVERYTHING....SSID Broadcast on/off, WEP, WPA, Security all off, nothing helped. I just switched the router settings to B/G Mixed. The TX connected immediately.
    B/G will be fine, even though the router's optimum performance is N. My broadband operates at 25Mbs. 802.11g has a transfer rate of up to 54Mbs where N is well over 100. "G" will easily keep up with my internet's best speed. And I can still Wi-Fi with my TX at 802.11b (11Mbs).
    I can temporarily switch to "N" if I ever want to transfer huge amounts of data between my "N" Laptop and my Desktop PC.

  • Custom Connection Manager only works in 32bit- 0xC0011008: Error loading from XML

    I have a very basic / stripped connection manager with only one property (SSIS 2012). It works fine in design time (you can open the connection manager editor and change the value), but in runtime it only works in 32bit mode. The runtime-validate-method
    does work, but if everything validates OK then in 64bit it throws an error when you run the package:

  • Running package programmactically from console causes error if package uses connection in Connection Manager.

    Hello my friends:
    I attempted to run a few packages programmatically using the code and solution on this page:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms136090.aspx
    I observed that the script and process failed when I use the connection in SSIS/SSDT connection Manager in Visual Studio 2013. Meaning if I create a Connection for the Project in the Connection Manager and use it on tasks.
    However, the project and packages will run just fine if I simply add individual connection to each task where needed and do not use the Connection manager.
    If I use the Connection Manager, I get this error: This only happens when I run the package programmatically,
    if I run the package directly from Visual Studio, I get no errors.
    Error Message:

    Connection Manager Screenshot:
    I am using that connection in an SQL Server Destination Task:
    And here is the code:
    class Program
    class MyEventListener : DefaultEvents
    public override bool OnError(DtsObject source, int errorCode, string subComponent,
    string description, string helpFile, int helpContext, string idofInterfaceWithError)
    Console.WriteLine("Error in {0}/{1} : {2}", source, subComponent, description);
    return false;
    static void Main(string[] args)
    string pkgLocation;
    Package pkg;
    Application app;
    DTSExecResult pkgResults;
    MyEventListener eventListener = new MyEventListener();
    pkgLocation =
    @"C:\Users\Administrator\Desktop\ExampleConnectionMgr\DataExtractionB.dtsx";
    app = new Application();
    pkg = app.LoadPackage(pkgLocation, eventListener);
    pkgResults = pkg.Execute(null, null, eventListener, null, null);
    Console.WriteLine(pkgResults.ToString());
    Console.ReadKey();
    Thank you everyone!

    I have confirmed that this problem, at least on the surface is caused by the lack of reference to the Connection in the Connection Manager as indicated by the error message.
    The solution here will require that the Connection is set directly within each task.
    If I simply set the connection in each task then the page runs just fine programmatically:
    I am also able to convert the Connection in the Connection Manager to Package Connection as shown in the screen shot below. This will override all references to the Connection Manager and make the connection local within each package or package
    task.
    Is there any other solution out there?
    Thanks again!
    Synth.
    This is exactly what I asked for in my previous post. Sorry if it wasnt clear.
    I guess the problem is in your case you're creating connection manager from VS which is not adding any reference of it to packages which is why its complaining of the missing connection reference

    Hi,
    I have copied a number of SSID packages from a live server to my test server and am trying to get them up and running but I have a problem with the connection. The only thing that is different is the server name. I decided to keep the same connection in the connection manager as it is referenced in a dtsConfig file. I changed the dtsConfig file to reference the new servername [Data Source= new test server name]. I also check my paths and they are pointing to the correct config locations etc.
    I found this post which was similar to my problem but I still get problems with the connection
    http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=1319961&SiteID=1
    I updated the connection by changing the server name in the actual connection. I did this from the data flow tab in the Connection Managers sections (MS Visual Studio). Right clicked - Edit - changed the name of the server name to my test server and selected the database. Test connection was fine, and saved this.
    Once I saved this, the connection string changed to my current test server in the properties of the connection. However when I run the package I get the following error:
    Error: 0xC0202009 at ReportsImport, Connection manager "myconnectionstring": SSIS Error Code DTS_E_OLEDBERROR.  An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80004005.

    Error: 0xC0024107 at Myprocess import from file: There were errors during task validation.
    So even if I change the existing connection properties and save and Build my package again, my connection properties (connectionstring, servername etc) all revert back to its original data source when I re-open the package. Simply it does not seem to be saving the connection properties i put in.
    What am I doing wrong or how can I change the existing connection manager to look at the new server. The database is  the same and I have full admin privilege on the server.
    I don't want to recreate my packages as there are alot and they are not simple.
    After changing the connection properties, saving and reloading I get a connection error. But this is because it is not retaining the new connection manger setting i entered.
    Incidentally - I created a new SSID to perform a simple connection and write to the the server and it was OK so there is no problem with actually seeing the my test server.
    Thanks in advance

    Yes, the package is in visual studio and I have executed it. There are no errors but in the output i have the error message about my connection. My dtsConfig file is added to the project in the 'Package Configuration Organizer' and path and files are correct. This is the output error:
    Error: 0xC020801C at xx import from file, xxReportsImport [79]: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_CANNOTACQUIRECONNECTIONFROMCONNECTIONMANAGER.  The AcquireConnection method call to the connection manager "myconnectionname" failed with error code 0xC0202009.  There may be error messages posted before this with more information on why the AcquireConnection method call failed.
    I will try and run it using dtexec.exe. if I have two config files do i use
    dtsexec.exe /f <packagename> /conf <configfile> /conf <secondconfigfile>

    Greetings,
    javax.naming.NameNotFoundException. Root exception is
    org.omg.CosNaming.NamingContextPackage.NotFound
    =================
    Below is the line of my LoginServlet class which is
    referred to in the stack trace - Object object =
    context.lookup
                        ( "java:comp/env/ejb/WarehouseClerk" );The root of the naming context is 'java:comp/env' and this is where lookup automatically begins for EJBs and resources. IOW, by specifying "java:comp/env/ejb/WarehouseClerk" as the EJB lookup name the server is actually treating this as "java:comp/env/java:comp/env/ejb/WarehouseClerk". Specify only the ejb context ("ejb/WarehouseClerk") in your lookup and you should be fine.
    Any help would be most appreciated.

  • SSIS 2012: SSIS Error Code "Excel Connection Manager" failed with error code 0xC0202009.

    Hi,
    This is kind of weird issue that I am experiencing with excel connection manager in SSIS 2012. This issue occurs sometimes but when I close and re-open SSDT (SQL Server Data Tools - newer BIDS) then this issues goes off temporarily.
    Just FYI, through SSDT environment I executed the package successfully with both settings Run64bit runtime setting to Yes and No when error does not occur.
    So far I have installed
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=13255 (Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable).
    I still remember for older versions of SQL Server (2005 & 2008) that I have executed Excel connection SSIS packages with Run64bit runtime = false i.e. in 32-bit mode. As far as I know I think Excel 64-bit issue has been resolved with SQL Server
    2012 release.
    Here is the detail of error message:
    TITLE: Package Validation Error
    Package Validation Error
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    Error at Data Flow Task [Excel Source [2]]: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_CANNOTACQUIRECONNECTIONFROMCONNECTIONMANAGER.  The AcquireConnection method call to the connection manager "Excel Connection
    Manager" failed with error code 0xC0202009.  There may be error messages posted before this with more information on why the AcquireConnection method call failed.
    Error at Data Flow Task [SSIS.Pipeline]: Excel Source failed validation and returned error code 0xC020801C.
    Error at Data Flow Task [SSIS.Pipeline]: One or more component failed validation.
    Error at Data Flow Task: There were errors during task validation.
    Error at Package [Connection manager "Excel Connection Manager"]: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_OLEDBERROR.  An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80004005.
    An OLE DB record is available.  Source: "Microsoft Access Database Engine"  Hresult: 0x80004005  Description: "Unspecified error".
     (Microsoft.DataTransformationServices.VsIntegration)
    Here are my environment details:
    SQL Server 2012 {Microsoft SQL Server 2012 (SP1) - 11.0.3368.0 (X64) } , Excel 2010 (32-bit). I am developing SSIS code on Virtual desktops with Windows 7 32-bit OS.
    Also it occurred to me that since Virtual Desktops are on Shared Infrastructure, the source files and SSIS packages (code) can be on Shared drives for e.g. \\<Corpnet>\userdata\<Corp_Users_Grp>\<Username>\Visual Studio 2010\Projects\Integration
    Services Project2\Integration Services Project2\Package.dtsx.
    Does this kind of Shared drives have any impact to give this issue?
    Thanks in advance!
    Ketan
    P.S.: I had look at this forum question -->
    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/sqlserver/en-US/903bbe1d-e070-4c43-9d3b-0a5193550029/64bit-error-in-excel-connection-manager-in-ssis

    Hi Arthur,
    Thanks for your response.
    Yes, it looks like SSIS still has bunch of issues with Excel files like as follows:
    1) Some times excel source files cannot be parsed by excel source connection manager.
    2) For derive column conversion, we can't replace the existing column. rather, we have to add the derived column as " add as new column" which is tough to manage  while destination mapping.
    3) If an column in excel contains a data which is not of the data type assigned for the column in excel, the excel source reads that data as "null". For the same, we can't validate the data and redirect the erroneous data in reject file.  <-- For
    this we tried IMEX setting also
    4) In multi-tab/sheet excel file, excel source is unable to detect a tab and identify the metadata of the excel.
    I am also checking Microsoft connect for Excel issues with SSIS 2012(https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/SearchResults.aspx?SearchQuery=excel#&&PageIndex=22
    As worst case scenario, I am thinking of converting Excel to CSV file or Flat text file. (http://www.mssqltips.com/sqlservertip/2772/importing-data-from-excel-using-ssis--part-2/).
    Do you think it is advisable to convert Excel into CSV or Flat file.
    Thanks,
    Ketan

  • CAn you use excel connection manager to connect to a folder that is protected with a username and password?

    I have folder on my server that my ssis package needs to get into. I have an excel file that I am connecting to using Excel Connection Manager. My ssis package is unable to connect to the folder. How do I get this to work. Thank you

    Hi RythmMusic,
    I am not sure how the folder is protected with username and password, Are you talking about folder is at restricted access and rest it ask you to punch window credential. In that case you need to run the ssis package with account which have access to that
    folder or use a proxy account to run under.
    If it protected from third party software then it need to decrypted by that third party software only. SSIS won;t be able to help here.

    You can try an OLEDB provider in that case

    you might need to download and install ms access redistributable
