Sprint upgrade question - can I keep SERO plan?

I currently have a smartphone and what used to be called the SERO plan.  I pay $30/month including data, unlimited text, and 500 anytime minutes.  If I upgrade the phone once my contract expires, can I keep the same plan?  I have the protection plan on my phone, which will essentially guarantee me similar equipment forever, but I am interested in some of the new phones out there now.  Thanks.

unsure which part of the reply you are calling untrue, so i'll respond thinking you mean both...
As far as the first part..I'm going by experience.  Before moving to where I am now, I had a Sprint SERO account in charlotte, nc.  When I went to a Best Buy Store to try to upgrade my phone, as well as add a line, the associate asked me for my phone number, and upon entering it, they told me they could not access my account because it was SERO....Just experience...
As for the second part regarding Smartphones... For WebOS, Blackberry,  and Android smartphones Sprint requires an Everything data rate plan(for SERO users they would have to get the Everything Plus Referral data plans) this requirement does not apply to the Windows Mobile OS......

  • Can't keep old data plan?

My daughters droid "smart" phone died so we put her number on an older "dumb" phone we had from previous upgrades until she can afford to buy a new smartphone. While talking to customer service I was told that she can't keep her old unlimited data plan when she gets her new phone that she has to switch to 2G plan. I don't understand why this is since had her phone not died she would still have the unlimited plan. Why?

Good afternoon and thank you for all of your replies.  This is a really good question, and I will gladly clarify the answer, as there seems to be a lot of different responses.
You are able to change back the unlimited data plan from a non-Smartphone within 14 days of removing it.  Once the 14 days have passed, there is no way to go back to the unlimited data and you will have to choose from our current pricing.  Therefore, if your daughter will be replacing her Smartphone within 14 days, she will be able to have the unlimited data plan.
I trust this information is helpful.
    Thank you,

  • How long can I keep my Alltel unlimited data plan and my 12 my circle numbers?

I started with Alltel back in the day and got a couple smart phones with them on their plan that let you have the unlimited data and 500 minutes but we accumulated 12 of the free "my circle" numbers before Verizon took over. Somehow over the years I have done numerous upgrades (last one being in November I think with my iPhone 5) and the other phone on my account has gone through several upgrades as well, and we have always managed to keep the Alltel plan including unlimited data and our free 12 my circles. I was thinking of upgrading again since  my other line is coming up for renewal soon, but when I asked if I would have to change my plan, the rep said that I would and that it was a fluke that I was able to upgrade to the iPhone 5 without changing. I live where there is no internet access other than Verizon so I use my hotspot every day for regular internet use on my CPU and use over 11GB a month and sometimes 15GB but I need to get a new phone for the other line. There is nothing Verizon offers that is as cheap as my plan (about $140 after taxes for both phones, and unlimited data) so before I go and buy a new phone at $600+ I am trying to figure out how I have managed to upgrade all these years and keep my plan, but will not be able to now? and if I can't keep my Alltel plan (Which again is strange considering I just got an iPhone 5 and it is going fine with the Alltel plan) if they will force me one day to change even if I buy my own phone? It is VERY confusing talking to verizon reps as I have tried in the store and via telephone and nobody really has a straight answer.
If I buy an expensive phone out of pocket now without upgrading and renewing my contract and put it on my number, will I always be able to keep Alltel's plan as I have in the past, or will they change it? Has anyone else kept Alltel and have you had any problems upgrading or adding your own phone? Thank you.

You will be able to keep the plan, however you will lose your unlimited data if you get a subsidized phone.
Now if are talking to a rep at a 3rd party reseller, they may be forced to change your plan.

  • On a single app subscription on muse cc you gotta keep your plan updated so your website can stay up

God bless. I got a Single plan on Muse i'm planing to creat my own website. My question can i still keep my website up if i still pay my monthly payment on creative cloud? or is there another way to do this/ thx .. or what plan you'll recommend? i like using other apps too. i like using Photoshop, After effect and muse.

    Hi
With Muse subscription , you can create site and publish on Adobe servers.
The subscription includes one site free count , so you can use that and upload your site , the published site would be in web hosting site plan.
Unless you are changing your site plan, you wont have to pay anything extra.
Please contact support directly for more details as they can provide you more details on your account.

  • Can I keep old apps if I upgrade OSX to Mavericks?

    Hello all,
I have been very satisfied with my MBA mid 2013 build, and all the apps. I really use Pages '09 & Numbers '09 (most of the features), so much that I've switched everything from MS Word and Excel. But, I do NOT want to upgrade to Pages 5.1 or Numbers 3.1. It seems they are dumbed down versions, good for iPhone use, and many users are  very unhappy. I learned that the features I use the most are gone.
Question: Can I upgrade the OS X to Mavericks, but keep the old Pages & Numbers apps? IOW, not upgrade them, only the OSX?
    Thank you, Cinilla

Since the new desktop Macs force Mavericks on you, have you considered an Apple-refurbished iMac old enough to have come with Mountain Lion? That'd come with a new warranty to which you could add AppleCare.
I'd suggested questioning a Mavericks upgrade because I just went through that decision myself, coming from Lion and experimenting with both ML and Mavericks, and there were some quirks in Mavericks that just didn't seem worth dealing with. Went with ML and while that meant dealing with the Disk Utility formatting bug in both ML and Mavericks, at least Lion and ML still have a family resemblance.

  • I plan to loan my iPod Touch to a friend for one month to use in Europe.  How can I keep my iTunes account private, but enable him to create his own iTunes account to use on my iPod Touch?

I plan to loan my iPod Touch to a friend here in the USA for one month to use on his trip to Europe.  How can I keep my iTunes content and my account private, but enable him to create his own iTunes account to use on my iPod Touch?  Also, do I need to de-register my iPod Touch for all of this to happen--and have him register my iPod Touch in his name for that month he is using it in Europe?

The suggested advice in this support article http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1478 wasn't a help at all, because the option "enable disc use" in the summary window of itunes doesn't appear.
    *From the article*:
    Products Affected
iTunes 7 for Mac, iTunes 7 for Windows, iPod nano, iPod shuffle, iPod mini, iPod, iTunes 8 for >Windows, iTunes 8 for Mac
No mention of the Touch, it works differently from other iPods and has no "disk mode" as such.
I think it can be used as a storage device by using a 3rd party App, search the the App Store for such items.
Photos transferred to your Touch via iTunes will be of severely compromised quality i.e 640x480 pixel resolution and file size around 600-700 kb. These can be retrieved, again using a 3rd party application on your computer, such as [Touch Copy|http://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy> but you will not get back original quality images.
    Good luck,

  • How can I keep my old plan (unlimited Data)

I am eligible for an upgrade, but it looks to me that doing that means losing my old data plan which is unlimited, with 1400 shared minutes to the new share everything plan and tiered data plans. I am trying to find a way to keep my current plan, but without resorting to purchasing the smartphone outright. Would adding a new line be an option?
    Thanks in advance

Adding a new line (if you have a line available) would be an option - you could then place a"dumb" phone on that line for the 24 months of contract and pay the extra $10 + taxes per month  - ~$250.00 over the 2 year contract.  The new phone would then be activated on your line, maintaining unlimited data (for now).  That too, could change at any time, since the data is an added "feature" and not part of the contract.
    Other options:
Purchase the phone through a private party (used, perhaps) and activate on your line - you may find a sweet deal - just be sure the phone is "clean" and Verizon branded.  Ebay, Swappa, friends....
Using the upgrade from another line on the plan that may or may not currently have a data plan - not everyone needs or uses unlimited, and a 2 GB limit may work for another line, allowing you to keep the unlimited on your line.
I was hesitant to let go of my unlimited plan when moving away from my BlackBerry, but it's been fine.  I find with wifi available nearly everywhere, I'm using less than 1 GB of my allowance each month, and I don't feel "limited".  Two daughters on the plan with me have iPhones, and occasionally they will flirt with the limit, but have not gone over.
    Good luck.

  • How can I keep my MacBook safe is Apple is no longer supporting Snow Leopard? My MacBook was purchased in 2006 and cannot be upgraded to the newer operating systems.

I have a MacBook which I purchased in 2006. It cannot upgrade to newer operating systems.Since Apple has stopped support to Snow Leopard, how can I keep my MacBook safe? Buying another computer is not an option. Any ideas or suggestions? Many thanks.

Apple still sell, and therefore support, Snow Leopard.
For what it's worth, from my reading of the Snow Leopard EULA (and I would  assume that there is similar language in the EULAs for all other operating systems, as well), I'm not seeing any obligation on the part of Apple to provide Security Updates of any kind, period/full stop. The wording appears to be completely "use at your own risk." I have no idea whether this "use at your own risk" would survive a legal challenge, or if such a legal challenge would depend on whether or not Apple is still selling (or even giving away for free) an OS, or whether local law would, according to this, override the EULA. Perhaps this is why Apple never formally announces EOL or discontinuance of support for an OS. They can always claim that they are still supporting an OS, whether or not in any practical sense, they are. There was even a very late Flashback detection and removal script which Apple issued for 10.5 well after it was clear that they had stopped supporting Leopard. This hardly constituted ongoing support, but perhaps it was to deter the threat of legal action, or maybe it was simply out of benevolence. I don't know.
Besides that, even when Apple was still actively "supporting" Snow Leopard, which I don't think it is any longer, "use at your own risk" would still have applied to a case where Apple may have been late with a patch, or a response, or an adequate response, to a zero-day threat, such as Flashback was, which was constantly evolving. Many thousands were affected by that, and, to my knowledge, at least, there was no legal action directed at Apple throughout or after that episode. If there was any, I don't think it succeeded.

  • I have a mac os 10.5.8, i want to upgrade to mac os snow leopard, can i keep all my files (documents, music on itunes) without backing up all the files first on a external device prior to the upgrade?

I have a mac os 10.5.8, i want to upgrade to mac os snow leopard, can i keep all my files (documents, music on itunes) without backing up all the files first on a external device prior to the upgrade?

I strongly advise against upgrading the OS without first making a backup. Were something to go wrong you would lose all your files without the backup. See:
How to Install OS X Updates Successfully
    A. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions:
Boot from your current OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. Then select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (4.0 for Tiger) and/or TechTool Pro (4.5.2 for Tiger) to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
    B. Make a Bootable Backup Using Restore Option of Disk Utility:
Open Disk Utility from the Utilities folder.
Select the destination volume from the left side list.
Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
Check the box labeled Erase destination.
Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to the Source entry field.
Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
Destination means the external backup drive. Source means the internal startup drive.
    C. Important: Please read before installing:
If you have a FireWire hard drive connected, disconnect it before installing the update unless you will boot from this drive and install the update on it. Reconnect it and turn it back on after installation is complete and you've restarted.
You may experience unexpected results if you have installed third-party system software modifications, or if you have modified the operating system through other means. (This does not apply to normal application software installation.)
The installation process should not be interrupted. If a power outage or other interruption occurs during installation, use the standalone installer (see below) from Apple Downloads to update.  While the installation is in progress do not use the computer.
    D. To upgrade:
Purchase the Snow Leopard Retail DVD.
Boot From The OS X Installer Disc:
Insert OS X Installer Disc into the optical drive.
    Restart the computer.
Immediately after the chime press and hold down the "C" key.
Release the key when the spinning gear below the dark gray Apple logo appears.
Wait for installer to finish loading.
    E. If updating:
    Download and install update(s)
    Use Software Update, or
    Download standalone updater(s).

  • Can I keep my ring tones when upgrading to iPhone 6?

Can I keep the ring tones I have purchased when upgrading to iPhone 6? If so how do I do that?

I see.  Apple's documentation on what is included in the iCloud backup doesn't explicitly say that it contains voicemails, but that doesn't mean it does not.  You would just have to try restoring the backup to find out.
To restore to your iCoud backup you have to start by erasing the phone.  Go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Erase All Content and Settings.  Then go through the setup screens on the phone and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud backup.  You will then sign into your iCloud account, accept the terms and conditions, then choose the backup you wish to restore from.  To see an older backup, you may need to tap "Show older backups" (see image below).  Be sure your phone is connected to wifi and your charger as this may take some time to finish.
If this does not recover your voicemails, you can check to see if you have an older iTunes backup that may contain them.  Available backups are shown in iTunes Preferences>Devices on the Backups list.
If all else fails, you could try contacting your carrier.  Voicemail is a carrier feature and they may have an archive you could access.

  • What is the process to upgrade at full retail, switch SIM cards, and keep old plan with unlimited data feature

I'm on a really old plan...America's Choice Family Share 500, Free N&W, with 2 lines, and each line has the unlimited data feature on the line.
Neither line has a texting package.
I currently have a Droid Bionic (large SIM card) & want to get a Droid Turbo (small SIM card).  It is literally cheaper for me to pay full retail for a phone (actually 2 phones) than switch to a "More Everything" plan because my plan is so old.  Across the two lines, we probably only use 3-5 GB/mo, so we aren't 'heavy' data users, but we aren't using 1-2GB/mo either.
I went into a VZW Corporate store, and they said I should be able to keep my plan with unlimited data if I pay full retail, but the sales person said their system has been knocking off unlimited data for other customers, even for something as small as a SIM card change.
I tried upgrading on verizonwireless.com, and the system tried to kick me out of my America's Choice Family Share 500 plan.
What is the process to get a new phone, pay ~$600 for it, get the new SIM card assigned to the account, and keep my calling plan with unlimited data?
(I also have the option to turn on & off Mobile Hot-Spot for $30/mo at will...but probably only have it active for 1 week a year, if that)
    Thanks!

Just log into your my verizon and order a phone at the full retail price. When you add the phone to the cart you choose 2 yr price, edge or full and then hit add. You will have to choose a plan but that plan does not go into effect since you are buying a phone out of contract, it is just part of the process. You then will not lose the data
