Spry Accordion on Safari 3.1.2

I was checking my project on a few browsers.
On Safari (ran on a PC >) the Spry accordion opens all
panels by default.
Is there a way to get rid of this annoying bug .. ?
thx

You are using version 1.4 and you need to use version 1.6.1

  • Spry Accordion Hover/Active Issue

    I have designed a spry accordion widget for a FAQ page and within Dreamweaver CS6 it is fully functional.  The color I've selected doesn't occur with a hover or an active tab once EVERYTHING is uploaded.  Below is a live link to the problem page, my Spry CSS and layout CSS as well as a screenshot of the proper functionality occuring in Dreamweaver.  Thoughts?
    The problem page:

    /* This is the selector for the main Accordion container. For our default style,
    * we draw borders on the left, right, and bottom. The top border of the Accordion
    * will be rendered by the first AccordionPanelTab which never moves.
    * If you want to constrain the width of the Accordion widget, set a width on
    * the Accordion container. By default, our accordion expands horizontally to fill

    * NOTE:
    * This rule uses -moz-user-select and -khtml-user-select properties to prevent the
    * user from selecting the text in the AccordionPanelTab. These are proprietary browser
    * properties that only work in Mozilla based browsers (like FireFox) and KHTML based
    * browsers (like Safari), so they will not pass W3C validation. If you want your documents to
    * validate, and don't care if the user can select the text within an AccordionPanelTab,
    * you can safely remove those properties without affecting the functionality of the widget.

  • A simple Spry Accordion Question (I think)

    Hi all:
    I've searched but can't find, but I think this is a simple one.
    I've created a basic Spry accordion menu with DW/CS3 - Insert/Spry/Spry Accordion. How do I get the first "Content 1" to be hidden/not visible upon page load. Right now, the "Lable 2" must be clicked to hide the "Content 1" which of course shows the "Content 2"? Guessing it's in the JS, but I'm not sure. TIA for any help. HTML and JS Code below.

    On the bottom of yourpage you have this:

    Change it to this:
    var Accordion1 = new Spry.Widget.Accordion("Accordion1", { useFixedPanelHeights: false, defaultPanel: -1 });

  • Spry Accordion not working in IE7 and IE6

    My spry accordion is working great in Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and IE8, but not in IE7 or 6. The panels are expanded and not hiding.
    The site is www.christendom.edu/n. It is there on the left.  I am using Spry 1.6 and have googled this question to the ends of the internet and can't figure out why.
    Please help!

    Remove the offending comma (marked in red)
    var Accordion1 = new Spry.Widget.Accordion("LeftMenu", {useFixedPanelHeights: false, defaultPanel: -1, duration: 250, fps: 90, });
    FYI, you do have other problems with your code which is made evident by the yellow triangle in the left bottom corner of IE.
    I hope this helps.

  • Spry accordion widget not playing nicely with IE7

    Good day.
    The answer to this issue may be on this forum somewhere already, but I cannot take the time to scour the several hundreds of posts.
    I've build and customized my first spry accordion, which can be viewed at http://www.brianfisherart.com/Bio/Contact/
    In Firefox and Safari, it works perfectly! IE7 however has some issues. the panels get too large on mouseovers, and jumpy and even larger when opening lower level panels.
    Just hoping to find a quick fix.
    Thanx in advance.

    I'm certainly not going to do your search for you, but you might want to see if using the current version 1.6.1 works better.
    http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/
    If that doesn't work, you might want to go to the Spry forum.
    Of course, now that you've posted, I wonder if any of the links in that "More Like This" box apply?

  • Spry Accordion just stays open in IE8

    I'm using Spy 1.6.1 and Dreamweaver CS5.  The Spry Accordion menu on the left side of my page looks funky in IE and it's absolutely kiiiiiilling me.
    ~o~ On a PC using IE8 the panels all begin in the open position at first load and won't close no matter what.  This is WRONG!
    ~o~ On a Mac using Safari, FireFox and Opera the accordion is working fine with one panel opening at once.  This is CORRECT!
    Ahhh I'm pulling out my hair.  Previous threads have mentioned a similar problem but their solution has been to upgrade to Spry 1.6.1 and that's how I started off so presumably no issue for me.
    So what the heck am I doing wrong?  Thousand thanks for a moment of your time!

    to
    <script src="http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/widgets/accordion/SpryAccordion.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    Either the online version of the JS is corrupt or there is a problem with version 0.17, Adobe uses version 0.15

  • Spry Accordion Display Issue

    Hi guys
    I have tried to implement a Spry Accordion function using DW CS3 to allow me to display current and previous news on a website, however I am having issues with getting it to display properly. You can view the page here: http://www.amiante.co.uk/news.html
    When testing the site in various browsers I noticed a glaring issue, underneath the According there is a massive white space, which to me appears to be the space that would be taken up if each panel of the according were to be opened at the same time....
    This issue occurs in Firefox 3.5.3, Safari 4.0.3, Opera 10.0 and Google Chrome 3.0.195. It seems to work faultlessly in IE 8, IE 7 and IE 6.
    The confusing aspect is that if you zoom in (ctrl +) and zoom out (ctrl -) it seems to remove the white spacing.
    If anyone has any idea of what is causing this I would be delighted to hear from you!
    Thanks in advance.
    Mackenzie

    Thank you so very much, I appreciate the quick response. However, I still have one small issue. For some unknown reason the bluestar tab does not show the star. It shows the tab, but no star. I've got it labeled correctly and it's pointing to the correct files, but I get the blue by itself. I know it must be a very simple solution and I must be doing something incorrect.
    the files are under:
    images/accordion/accordion_tabs_bluestar.jpg, and accordion_tabs_redwhite.jpg. The redwhite shows up. This is driving me nuts! I even went back and re-did the image file and saved it again, but all I get is the blue without the star. Can it be that the image is too big and cutting off the star that is to the right of it?
    Thank you so much, I do greatly appreciate your kind help.
    the other one is
    The code was copied and pasted exactly as was suggested. There is no other blue tab file on the server, so I am confused just a bit.
    Thanks again for helping an newbie, I appreciate it.

    Thanks Gramps, that information was really helpful.
    I just removed all instances of 'rgba' in the .css rules that specify color, changing it to 'rgb' and also removing the 4th parameter indicating the transparency value.
    Now that I understand what the problem was it actually makes complete sense, since IE does not support transparency.
    Thanks again.

    Apologies in advance if I'm asking a daft question!!

    Hi,
    using your source code, I couldn't find a really inserted "Spry Accordion". If I do that (translated from german DW) > Insert > Spry > Spry Accordion, I'll find in my DW source code something like that:
      <div id="Accordion1" class="Accordion" tabindex="0">
        <div class="AccordionPanel">
          <div class="AccordionPanelTab">Bezeichnung 1</div>
          <div class="AccordionPanelContent">Inhalt 1</div>
        </div>
        <div class="AccordionPanel">
          <div class="AccordionPanelTab">Bezeichnung 2</div>
          <div class="AccordionPanelContent">Inhalt 2</div>
        </div>
      </div>
    and in design view:
    Please control your DW-entries.

    Welcome to the Forum!
    If you can upload your page to a server and give us a link, we will be able to look at your page in action. Just seeing the code is not enough.
    Is this the first time you have used an Accordion? It is probable that the bright neon blue you are seeing is the default style, which you can change in the CSS file. I believe it was designed that color to highlight the feature you want to change .
    Take a look in the Accordion's CSS file (it will show as an associated file at the top of your document window) for color rules, and adjust them to suit your palette (and your palate!). Check out the CSS Styles Panel (use Current mode) for a handy way to know what you are looking at. Click on the Accordion in Design View and the rules will be highlighted in the CSS Styles Panel. (Click the right-hand stair-step icon to see the style cascade.)

  • Spry Accordion Widget hiccups and more

    Hi, I am using the Spry Accordion Widget on my website and have the following problems:
    1. Is there a way for the accordion movement not to affect the images that are placed below it. For example, I have the accordion placed on top of 3 different logos. Whenever, the accordion panels move up and down (in use) all the contents (below the accordion) moves with it. I don't want the logos to move up and down whenever someone clicks on the panels. How do I make the logos stationary so its placements won't change?
    I don't want to use an ap div tag because that would force my website to be in a fix position on a page. All I have been using to position my graphics are div tags and floats; no ap div tags. If you resize the browser window you will see that my website is somewhat elastic. Meaning, the graphics are always in the center of the page regardless of the size of the browser window—this is something I want to keep.
    Please go here for better understanding: http://meinaco.net/tblLists.html
    2. When one of the accordion tab is clicked there seems to be some kind of hiccup/jump/jerky (up and down movement) before it settles/stops. Is there a way to fix that? I noticed the accordion moves up and down smoothly prior to my inserting the images into the tab panels. To be clear, the images I am referring to are the brown horizontal lines with white words on a green background. Do these images have anything to do with this problem?
    3. When the 1st tab (the restaurant panel) is open and another tab is selected, the restaurant panel displays large incorrectly styled text for a brief second as it closes to allow the other panel to open. I know it has something to do with my style sheet but I can't figure out what is causing it. I checked my css files and it seems they all have the correct size. To see this problem reoccur please do the following:
    Make sure the restaurant panel is open then click on another panel (one of the 3 panels). As you click on the second panel pay attention to the text that sits inside the restaurant panel. You will see that large minus leading text will appear for a split second.
    4. When I run my webpage (url mentioned above) on Safari 4.0.3 there seems to be a blue line outlining the whole accordion widget. This outline doesn't exist on Firefox nor on Opera. Please see attached image for clarity.
    Any suggestions or help on any of these problems is greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance.

    I hope someone can help me resolve or give me suggestions for the 1st and 2nd problems at the very least.

  • Spry Accordion Widget appears incorrectly

    Hello all,
    I used the Spry accordion widget in my online portfolio (http://www.halyna.htsolutionsonline.com). I tested it in IE6, IE7, Mozilla and Safari browsers before uploading. It appeared and worked correctly. I also had friends test the site with their own PCs and Macs. Everything was reported to work correctly.
    At work, I found that when I open the first panel of the accordion, the names of the rest of the panels move to the right and only the first open panel appears on the screen with the names of the bottom three panels to the right of the panel which makes all of it look very unprofessional. This doesn't happen when I open the following three panels. Everything appears as it should.
    Can anybody shed light on what is causing this? As I mentioned, the site appears and works correctly everywhere else.
    All help appreciated!!

  • SPRY accordion and tabs not displaying in IE6

    Hi everyone:
    Even after clearing up some validation errors in my HTML, I
    am experiencing issues with a SPRY accordion and another page with
    a Tabbed SPRY widget not appearing in IE6. The pages all work fine
    in IE7, Firefox and Safari. I would greatly appreciate anyone
    taking a look (link below) and letting me know if you see any
    errors or know of a bug I have not found the fix for. My CSS
    validates 100% so I don't think I have made any style sheet errors.
    Thanks very much.

    K.

    Hi all:
    After some more tinkering, I have discovered the real issue
    is that my containing element is not containing the entire page and
    therefore cutting off my SPRY elements on the pages which have
    them. This is causing the SPRY widgets to fall apart and, of
    course, for the page to only scroll partially down.
    Does anyone have a suggestion as to why the SPRY tabbed
    element and accordion element on my pages is not nesting within
    document flow and remaining with the containing div? I appreciate
    your help.

  • Spry Accordion from theme 6 template Adobe, not viewing in browsers?

    Hi
    I have just be viewing the spry accordion within a Adobe template Theme 6 link below, I would really like to use this but am a little scared as it doesn't seem to work properly in Safari and Firefox?
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/dreamweaver/articles/dreamweaver_custom_templates_pt2.html
    Many thanks

    Actually I figured it out, it turns out that the browsers don't call for the new .css file, so even if you update it in dreamweaver and it looks fine, the browser didn't get the new file.  So if you want the browser to update you have to hold down shift and click the refresh button on the browser and ta-da, it looks the same in dreamweaver.  Thanks though!
