Spry dynamic Table Navigation

Hi,
I have created a Spry dynamic table from a dataset but wanted
to know how I could add record navigation. Ideally, I would like
only 15 records to appear and have the user be able to move to the
next batch of 15 or back when they want. Also, I would like to put
the information of how many records there are in total at the top.
I know I can put navigation on tables made from a recordset,
but can I not do the same with a table made from a Spry dataset?
Thanks so much,

Yes, it requires hand coding. Dreamweaver provides user
interfaces for
only a limited set of Spry features. No plans have been
announced for an
updater.

the dataset?
I haven't tested table navigation myself, but any valid XML
source
should work.

    Thanks for you reply David,
    since I posted I've found the the Spry documentation for
    Dreamweaver 9, and
    the info at
    http://livedocs.adobe.com/en_US/Dreamweaver/9.0/help.html?content=WS48C07A61-5107-48d0-AC6 2-D96B7A008F01.html,
    seems to suggest that inserting a spry DynamicTable is a
    multi step process,
    so the Live Object may still be useful in other servermodels,
    but I'll focus
    my efforts on duplicating the existing Spry integration for
    the PHAkt
    servermodel.

  • Typo/error in dynamic table example

    I'm talking about the on-line copy of the Spry dynamic table
    example:
    http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/articles/dynamic_table/
    In the last two code blocks, in the TR element that uses
    spry:repeat, the value of spry:repeat is set to "spry:repeat"
    instead of "dsEmployees". If someone copies one of those code
    blocks and tweaks it to use it for their own datasets, they'll get
    a tokenizeData error.

    Thanks for catching that!
    The fixed version is now live on Labs.
    Thanks,

  • Spry Dataset (dynamic table) not displaying images

    Hi - new to Spry but loving it! I just did the tutorial for
    creating
    dynamic
    tables and had no problems outside of trying to get images to
    display in one tableset. in the XML I have
    <thumb><image href="imx/china.jpg"
    /></thumb>
    with thumb being the node name (naturally). the table cell
    displays nothing but all others have text displayed properly. is
    there no way of calling in images?
    Thanks for the help and advice!

    If you really want to embed HTML in XML, then read this
    sample:
    http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/samples/data_region/HTMLFragsInXMLSample.html
    You can also just embed the path in the XML like this:
    <thumb>img/china.jpg</thumb>
    and then reference it in your region markup like this:
    <div spry:region="ds1">
    <img src="{thumb}" alt="{thumb}" />
    </div>

  • A dynamic table based on run-time created view object -- please help!

    Hello!
    I'm trying to create a dynamic table based on an run-time created view object. All go ok, but table binding component take the first view/iterator state and don't reflect changes they have. Please, take a look:
    1. At run-time the view is being replaced by new red-only one based on query in application module:
    getQueryView().remove();
    createViewObjectFromQueryStmt("QueryView", statement);
    2. Page definition file contains an iterator (using iterator or methodIterator - doesn't matter) binding and table, which binds to the iterator, like:
    <methodIterator id="distributeQuery1Iter" Binds="distributeQuery1.result"
    DataControl="QueryServiceDataControl" RangeSize="10"/>
    <table id="distributeQuery11" IterBinding="distributeQuery1Iter"/>
    3. The page code uses <af:table>. But, if I use table binding (it's right) like this:
    <af:table var="row" value="#{bindings.distributeQuery11.collectionModel}">
    <af:forEach items="#{bindings.distributeQuery11.attributeDefs}" var="def">
    the table will never changed (i.e. still show the first view instance).
    When I tried to use iterator binding directly (it's bad and cannot provide all needed features unlike CollectionModel from table binding) I saw that table works!
    (Code is somehing like:
    <af:table var="row" value="#{bindings.myIterator.allRowsInRange}">
    <af:forEach items="#{bindings.myIterator.attributeDefs}" var="def">
    Why the table binding do not reflect changes in iterator? Or should I use different approach?
    Thanks in advance!
    Ilya.

    I got it to work! I used a hybrid approach comprised of some of your code and some of Steve Muench's AcceessAppModuleInBackingBean example.
    In the setBindings method, I execute an app module method that redefines the query, then I used your code to delete and recreate bindings and iterator:
    public void setBindingContainer(DCBindingContainer bc) {
    this.bindingContainer = bc;
    rebuildVO();
    The rebuildVO() method looks like the code you provided in your example:
    private void rebuildVO() {
    DCDataControl dc;
    DispatchAppModule dApp;
    DCBindingContainer bc;
    DCIteratorBinding it;
    OperationBinding operationBinding;
    ViewObject vo;
    DCControlBinding cb;
    try {
    bc = getBindingContainer();
    dc = bc.findDataControl(DATACONTROL);
    dApp = (DispatchAppModule)dc.getDataProvider();
    // Execute App Module Method to rebuild VO based upon new SQL Statement.
    dApp.setDispatchViewSQL();
    vo = dApp.findViewObject(DYNAMIC_VIEW_NAME);
    it = bc.findIteratorBinding(DYNAMIC_VO_ITER_NAME);
    it.bindRowSetIterator(vo, true);
    // logger.info("Remove value binding...");
    cb = bc.findCtrlBinding(DYNAMIC_VIEW_NAME);
    cb.getDCIteratorBinding().removeValueBinding(cb);
    bc.removeControlBinding(cb);
    // logger.info("Creating new value binding...");
    FacesCtrlRangeBinding dynamicRangeBinding =
    new FacesCtrlRangeBinding(null,
    bc.findIteratorBinding(DYNAMIC_VO_ITER_NAME), null);
    // logger.info("Add control binding...");
    bc.addControlBinding(DYNAMIC_VIEW_NAME, dynamicRangeBinding);
    } catch (Exception e) {
    e.printStackTrace();
    And my App Module method that redefines the view object looks like this:
    public void setDispatchViewSQL() {
    String SQL =
    "begin ? := PK_BUsiNESS.F_GETDISPATCHVIEWSQL();end;";
    CallableStatement st = null;
    String ViewSQL = null;
    try {
    st = getDBTransaction().createCallableStatement(SQL,
    DBTransaction.DEFAULT);
    * Register the first bind parameter as our return value of type LONGVARCHAR
    st.registerOutParameter(1, OracleTypes.LONGVARCHAR);
    st.execute();
    ViewSQL = ((OracleCallableStatement) st).getString(1);
    findViewObject(DYNAMIC_VO_NAME).remove();
    ViewObject vo = createViewObjectFromQueryStmt(DYNAMIC_VO_NAME, ViewSQL);
    vo.executeQuery();
    } catch (SQLException s) {
    throw new JboException(s);
    } finally {
    try {
    st.close();
    } catch (SQLException s) {
    s.printStackTrace();
    When I run it I get my desired results. One thing I don't quite understand is why when the page is first rendered it shows the last set of records rather than the first. Now I have to figure out how to put navigation URLS in each of the table cells.
    Thanks for your help; I would not have gotten this far without it,
    Jeff

  • Linking to file in site folder using recordset in dynamic table

    I have a dynamic, repeating table that lists recordsets from a database.  I would like to add a column to the table that contains a link to a file in a folder contained on the site.  The name of the file used will be the same as one of the recordset value, 'cas_num' (all within the same row of the dynamic table).
    My code so far is:
    <tr>
              <td nowrap="nowrap"><?php echo $row_Recordset1['id']; ?></td>
              <td width="160" nowrap="NOWRAP"><?php echo $row_Recordset1['cas_num']; ?></td>
              <td nowrap="NOWRAP"><?php echo $row_Recordset1['chem_name']; ?></td>
              <td nowrap="nowrap"><?php echo $row_Recordset1['m_formula']; ?></td>
              <td nowrap="NOWRAP"><?php echo $row_Recordset1['room']; ?></td>
              <td nowrap="NOWRAP"><?php echo $row_Recordset1['location']; ?></td>
              <td nowrap="nowrap"><?php echo $row_Recordset1['inst']; ?></td>
              <td nowrap="nowrap"><?php echo $row_Recordset1['amount']; ?></td>
              <td nowrap="nowrap"><?php echo $row_Recordset1['a_type']; ?></td>
              <td nowrap="nowrap"><?php echo $row_Recordset1['supplier']; ?></td>
              <td nowrap="nowrap"><?php echo $row_Recordset1['pt_num']; ?></td>
              <td nowrap="nowrap"><?php echo '<a href="/docs/MSDS/'$row_Recordset1['cas_num']; ?>'MSDS</a>;</td>
              </tr>
    Any help with this how to link to the file would greatly be appreciated!
    thanks,
    chemsafety.

    If you can mount the server on your desktop and have access via the Finder to the file, then you can select the text you'll use for the link and in the link section of the Inspector window select the option for A file. Then in the navigation window, go to the server on the desktop and from there to the file on the server. That's one way to do it.
    The other is to figure out the URL for a file on the server. I know how to do it for the iDisk. It would be something like this for another server:
    http://server name/your account's folder/the folder containing the file.
    You'll have to determine the path to the file. As I said earlier if you can mount the server on the desktop that would let you determine the path or use the first method.
    Do you Twango?

  • Spry Data Table - XML file refresh

    I just started using dynamic spry data tables in Dreamweaver

  • How to add dynamic table in DW CC?

    I am relatively new to DW.  I am trying to set up a searchable database where I can input an area code, and return a table with associated data (say diseases in that area).  I need a dynamic table for this, but DW CC does not have a dynamic object link in the "insert" menu.  Any help?  I am running on a Mac

    Hi Ben,
    Thank you for telling us how to create a dynamic table in Dw CC (It was a breeze in CS6 with the wizard, but why would Adobe keep a tool that makes life easy for developers when they can make life harder instead? - and don't even get me started on the missing spry form evaluation widgets!).
    However, two things are missing from your solution.
    Firstly, if I create a table connected to a database, with each cell in the top row displaying a caption for each column, followed by a second row where I drag the field names from the bindings tab into the appropriate cell beneath each column name, and then set repeat region in the recordset, the table displayed in my browser shows a repeated column caption above each individual record that is displayed, which is far from ideal. There does not seem to be a way to isolate the column records from the column names.
    Secondly, each cell width of each row is displayed according to the width of the cell data, meaning that there is no uniformity to the table (see screenshot below). Ideally, I would like each column to be uniform in width.
    If you or anyone can give me the solution to these knotty problems I would be very grateful.
    Thanks in anticipation.

  • Sort dynamic table

    I have a table that I want users to be able to sort by
    clicking on the table headers. It's a basic hockey stats sheet, ie
    goals, assists, points, etc. I have figured out how to do it with
    spry using an xml file, however I'd like to be able to do it with a
    dynamic table, so that if the database is updated, I don't have to
    go in and create a new xml file.
    Any suggestions?

    ORA-06512: at line 7The problem is that your variable subject_obj is not in scope inside the dynamic SQL you are building. The SQL engine does not know your PL/SQL variable, so it tries to find a column named SUBJECT_OBJ in your SAM1 table.
    If you need to use dynamic SQL for this, then you must bind the variable. Something like this:
    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE 'insert into op_sample (select id,name,:bind_subject_obj from sam1) ' USING subject_obj;Alternatively you might figure out to use static SQL rather than dynamic SQL (if possible for your project.) In static SQL the PL/SQL engine binds the variables for you automatically.

        WRITE: / p0002-pernr,
                 sy-vline,
                 p0001-ename,
                 sy-vline,
                 p0002-sprsl,
                 sy-vline,
                 p0002-gbdat.
      ENDPROVIDE.
    endform.
    Now what I want to do is replace the write stuff by appending the entries into a dynamic table which I will display as an ALV Grid.
    so I add my structure in the data declarations
    types:  begin of s_elements,
       pernr  type  p0002-pernr,
       ename  type p0001-ename,
       sprsl  type p0002-sprsl,
       gbdat   type p0002-gbdat.
      drop_down_handle  type int4.
    types: end of    s_elements.
    include zz_jimbo_incl.
    build the dynamic table
    create data dref type s_elements.
      assign dref->* to <fs>.
      i_routine = 'POPULATE_DYNAMIC_ITAB'.*
    i_names   = 'NAME_COLUMNS'.
      i_gridtitle = 'HR  TEST'.
    invoker = sy-repid.
    i_zebra = 'X '.
    i_edit = '  '.
    call function 'ZZ_CALL_SCREEN'
         exporting
              invoker     = invoker
              my_line     = <fs>
              i_gridtitle = i_gridtitle
              i_edit      = i_edit
              i_zebra     = i_zebra
              i_names     = i_names
              i_routine   = i_routine
         importing
              z_object    = z_object
              dy_table    = dy_table.
    Now to populate the dynamic Itab the routine below is entered.
    form populate_dynamic_itab changing dy_table.
      assign dy_table->* to <dyn_table>.
      create data dy_line like line of <dyn_table>.
      assign dy_line->* to <dyn_wa>.
    However I can't use GET / PROVIDE / ENDPROVIDE in a Form.
    Anyway round this ---seems HR has an aversion to OO.
    Cheers
    jimbo

    Hi,
    well, GET_PERNR is a so called event_statement. It has nothing to do with ABAP 00.
    Normally it will be like this:
    START-OF-SELECTION.
    GET_PERNR.
    PROVIDE ....
    END-OF-SELECTION.
    -> and here the CALL SCREEN NNNN for ALV-Display.
    Provide-statements you can use in forms of course, and as many times you want during GET and END-OF-SELECTION.
    But as I understood : you just want to save the write-statements?
    I always develop a DDIC-Structure, declarate the data objects in the programm, read the data via Provide into the infotypes, and then make a move-corresponding to my structure. and display it.
    Normally no problem.
    kind regards
    maik

  • Regarding dynamic tables in interactive forms

    Hi All,
            I have designed a webdynpro view which contains a table,i have to generate a pdf format file which also contains
    a table as there in the webdynpro view.
            I  have designed a dynamic table in interactive form and binded the interactive form ui element with the datasource and pdfSource.
    In the interactive form i am getting only one row data of webdynpro view table.In the Object palette, I selected Repeat Row For Each Data Item.
           share with me if u have any idea or send any document regarding table binding(dynamic) in interactive form.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Use the value of a field as column-name of a dynamic table

    Hi All
    I have the following situation:
    a) Internal table TB_ORDER_CONDITION ==>  data: tb_order_condition type standard table of bapicond.
         sample of the internal table TB_ORDER_CONDITION:
    CONT_TYPE # CONDVALUE# CONDBASEVAL
        ZR00         #    38.800000#  1.000000
        ZR30         #    2.800000  #  0.000000
        SKTO        #    0.000000  #  57.8500000
    b) dynamic-table  <L_TABLE_II> has the following columns:
    ZR00#ZR30#ICM3#IPS2  SKTO
    c) I would like to move as below:
    ZR00#ZR30# ICM3#IPS2# SKTO
    38.800000#2.800000#57.8500000
    Observation:
    I used this symbol just to show the separationfrom one column from another.
    Items a) and b) are OK. The problem is that I don't know how to make this move as showed in item c).
    Could you please advise?
    Thanks in advance.
    Gaia

    Hello,
    Check the code snippet below:
    FIELD-SYMBOLS: <wa_order_creation>  TYPE bapicond,
                   <l_table_ii>         TYPE STANDARD TABLE,
                   <l_wa_ii>            TYPE ANY,
                   <l_fieldval>         TYPE ANY.
    SORT tb_order_condition BY itm_number. "Sort by Item Number
    LOOP AT tb_order_condition ASSIGNING <wa_order_creation>.
    * Add a record to the dynamic table for each item
      AT NEW itm_number.
        APPEND INITIAL LINE TO <l_table_ii> ASSIGNING <l_wa_ii>.
      ENDAT.
      ASSIGN COMPONENT <wa_order_creation>-cond_type
      OF STRUCTURE <l_wa_ii> TO <l_fieldval>.
      IF sy-subrc = 0.
        <l_fieldval> = <wa_order_creation>-cond_value.
      ENDIF.

  • Sum of Values from previous rows in a dynamic table

    Hello,
    I have a dynamic table has multiple rows (added dynamically via a button).  One column in the table is a Quantity column.  Another is a Total column.  We do not want to keep a running total, but only wish to display a total when the rest of the cells in that row are emty and the previous row(s) has/have values in the Quantity column.  The Total is the sum on the Quatnities up to a blank row.  Below is a sample.  How do I get teh value of the Quantities in the previous rows?
    Quantity
    Total
    5
    8
    12
    25
    7
    27
    34
    22
    22
    Another option might be to put the Total in the last row with data as opposed to the row below the data.
    Any ideas?
    Regards,
    Karl
