Spry for Dreamweaver 8

I have Dreamweaver 8 for Mac OS X and I want to download the
Spry extension, but I can only find info on it for CS3 and, on the
Adobe labs page, a way to download it for Dreamweaver 9.
Does any one know where I can get Spry compatible with
Dreamweaver 8?

Log-in to the Adobe Exchange with your Widget Browser and grab "Spry Menu 2.0."

Spry is AJAX, the "hot" topic of the web at the moment, but
in my
opinion, it's not the best way to work with a database. The
problem with
the way that Spry handles dynamic data is everything falls
flat on its
face if someone visits your site with JavaScript disabled.
It's also
useful for search engines. Rather than attempt to work with
XML data
sets, I would suggest that you investigate the Spry widgets,
such as
accordions, tabbed panels, and so on.
The other problem with Spry is that it's still evolving. As a
result,
there is very little documentation. The documentation that
does exist is
pretty mind-numbing, even for somebody like myself with a
reasonable
understanding of JavaScript and other programming languages.
As I
understand it, a new version of Spry is due to be released
very soon (I
did hear a rumour that it was tomorrow). I don't know whether
it will
include updated documentation, but it's definitely on the
Spry
development team's to-do list.

Perhaps this is one that could be duplicated. What I was
concerned about
was different people spending time trying to troubleshoot
your problem.
A good policy is to wait at least 24 hours before posting in
a second
forum. Then begin your post saying that you have tried in xxx
forum, but
got no replies.

What's a good wysiwyg menu widget for Dreamweaver CS6 Mac?

I'm trying to build menus in Dreamweaver CS6 Mac, and started using Spry...then learned that Adobe will no loner be supporting Spry and that it may not be as compatible with browsers in the future.
What's a good alternative wysiwyg menu widget for Dreamweaver that's makes it easy to create horizontal/vertical pop-down menus/sub menus? I'd be willing to pay for it if it's worth it. Would be nice if it worked within Dreamweaver using Design/Spit modes the way Spry does, but not essential. Thanks!

Project Seven are widely regarded for their commercial DW menu extensions.

Patch for Dreamweaver CS5 or 6 from Poodle Vulnerability

GoDaddy ran a security patch for Poodle and now Dreamweaver can't connect. FTP over SSL/TLS explicit encryption is used. Is there a patch from Adobe for Dreamweaver?

The perpetual license of CS6 is essentially Adobe's response to those folks who absolutely refuse to switch to the Creative Cloud Subscription plans. It's been a long time since I've been here. Hope life is treating you well.
Tried a lot of other DW extensions in the mean time
None of them match the robustness of ADDT
Most are buggy, one shot ponies that miss the bigger picture of providing integrated tools for development. All I've tried are a closed shop of functions and variables that you have to navigate by hand if you want any sort of amended functionality - on the whole a pretty poor lot.
And, I've looked at many of the off the shelf offerings that Adobe had told us that are clients wanted rather than bespoke solutions.
And no, most don't want them - they still just want concise tools/interfaces that are easy to learn, use and do what THEY want them to do. Not behemoth collections of options, bells an whistles. Naturally some do and I'm happy to oblige (who wants to write a forum from scratch!). So its not clear cut either way as seemed to be implied a year or so ago.
Yes, it would be nice just to have the toolkit useable from CS5
- but as ever, the end users are out of the picture. Maybe there will be a new version, or completely new tools - that would be most welcome.
We still need good data tools. Integration with databases (none of my clients want to pull data from HTML tables - no matter how clever that is) and
CSS Style frameworks that take the grind out of positioning and styling every little item.
Gadgets and Gizmos - YUI3 looks like the one with the most backing - judging from YUI2 - have to keep and eye on that.
Let's hope Adobe have finally put back some functionality for php mysql developers with CS5
and the the wilderness that DW has been in for the last couple of years grows some strong roots
