Spry overlapping issue
I am using a few different spry menus on my webpage along
with using a css flyout called p7express. When the flyout is active
the spry overlaps it. Is there a way to set the spry to be
transparent or move behind?
This is what it looks like
http://momentumadvertising.com/images/spryissue.jpg
I am assuming that you have built your page with css, and so
from my limited understanding of divs and css layouts, you should
be able to control level at which each layer appears with the z
index attribute of css. Or, I have found that the order in which I
place divs on the page has a dramitic effect on overlaps. The first
div in the code goes to the bottom of the pile, and the last goes
to the top.
Anybody, please correct me if I am wrong.

Spry Menu issues in Internet Explorer
I have created a Spry menu for my website and although the menu appears to look fine in Firefox and Safari, the formatting changes in Internet Explorer(IE).
1.sub menu bar is not dropping down below the main menu bar it is appearing at the top of the screen.
2.When you hover over the sub menu bar items the font should be white however in IE it is appearing as an aqua color.
3.The menu bar is not straight across the page, at the beginning and end there are chunks of the menu bar that appear white.
Are there any fixes for these issues that would help to make the menu look consistent across all browsers. The website page is
www.applmgt.net/LMNtestpage/html, below is the code. Any help would be appreciated as soon as possible.

I am new to Dreamweaver and therefore would appreciate a bit more help with the issues you identified.
I did replace the doctype. As for removing the menu from a table and putting it into a div, would you be able to identify in the code below how I would do that? Thanks

Overlapping issues in Acrobat Pro 8
One of my users is using Acrobat Pro 8. He has been converting webages to .pdf without issue for a week or so. No changes were done to the PC, do changes were done to defaults. He's using the same webpage and the same procedure he has been using but now when he does it? The information on the page overlaps and becomes difficult to read.
I checked for updates and installed them this morning to see if that would assist with this issue and it did not.
Any thoughts or suggestions on how to rectify this issue would be greatly appreciate. This is a website that he utilizes on a frequent basis daily and converts to .pdf often.
Thank you!Probably Acrobat and/or the scanning software is running out of resouces. It could be RAM. It could be hard disk space. Doing it in two steps seems like the way to go even if you were to prefer it to be one step.

Spry validation issue with submit button
Hi,
I'm new to Spry but am having an issue getting it to work at all. I created a very simply form (i.e. table with Spry text field and submit button). I've read many articles and been to several forums, but I can't seem to find the issue I'm having. Basically, when I go to preview the page in a browser, the table with the Spy text field and submit button comes up fine, but when I hit the submit button, I see the page refresh and any values I had in the text field disappear, but nothing ever comes up saying "A value is required," which is what I'm looking for. This happens even if I don't have any values in the text field. Below are images of what I'm describing and also the code. I verified that the "Required" check box is checked in the SpryTextField and the submit button action is selected to "Submit Form." My setup is Win 7, DW6, & XAMPP. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Before Submit Button pressed:
Browser after button pressed: (same as above but no message saying "A value is required.")

If you must placate older browsers, use jQuery validate script. It's lightweight and works when HTML5 support is missing. You can see an example below. If you hit submit with empty form fields, the required fields pop-up with messages. View source in browser to see the code.

Smartform Main window and Footer Overlap Issue
Hi,
I have a problem in printing my invoice smartform.
I have to print the footer at the bottom of the main window. If the line items flow to the next page the footer should be printed only on the last page.
I have overlapped the main window and footer windows in first and next page so that the footer window space in the main window is not left empty when there are more than one pages
The problem is sometimes the main window is overlapping into the footer window space.
Can someone suggest a solution for this.
Thanks,
ViswasHi,
Solution: The issue faced after overlapping the main window with footer window can be achieved by creating a folder within the main window and using the events to check whether there is enough space to print the footer.
Following are the steps.
Step 1: Create a Secondary window say “Footer” which would be the footer window. Overlap the main window on the footer window as shown below.
The footer window will be behind the main window
Step 2: Create a folder within the main window say “Check_Footer”.
Go to Tab “Events”, select the checkbox “Footer with Height” and give the required height of the footer. Select the checkbox “at End of Table”. Specify the “Minimum height” as required.
Now, go to “Conditions” tab and select the checkbox “Only before end of main window”.
This is basically done to check whether there is enough space to print the footer on that page. The Footer window would then print the output.
Step 3: Go to the created “Footer” window .Under the Conditions tab, select the checkbox “Only after end of main window”. Create a text/tamplate/window whatever you want to display at bottom or footer data.
Step 4: Save & Activate the Smartform and check the output.

Spry Widget Issues - Deactivating after a while
Hi there,
I'm using Spry Widgets in DW CS3 and have been experiencing
the following strange issue.
When I insert a widget everything functions fine, the widget
is outline in blue, the little blue title appears when I roll over
it and the eye appears (for the Collapsible or the Accordion for
example) and allows me to close or open it with DW.
All in all, everything works sweet... I can edit it fine in
the Properties box etc.
And then after a while the widget just stops working. What I
mean is that there is no blue outline when rolling over it, there
is no Properties panel, there is no "eye", but the object is still
there, just not functioning.
I have obviously gone over the code as best I can. I've
created a new page within the same site and inserteda widget and
compared the code from one page to another and cannot find anything
off kilter.
Note that the CSS still woks fine, it just seems to lose its
Javascript capabilites (...)
This has happened with several different widgets in different
sites on different machines...
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advanceHere is a screenshot of a site I'm building atm. Please bear
in mind that I am not a coder and am building exclusively using
Design Mode.

-When I first inserted the Tabbed Panels widget, it
functioned fine...
-Now, something has happened and the widget is not editable
(other than going into the code) and the Panels are just displayed
one below the other.
-The widget functions normally when the page is previewed in
a browser, but I have lost my Design Mode editing capabilites.
-Now if I were to enter a new widget, it would start off
straight away in "non-editable" mode
-This has happened every time I have tried to use widgets.
Starts off fine and then loses editibility and/or functionality.
It's obviously something that I'm doing that is "breaking"
the widget, but any help would greatly appreciated.

Spry Accordion issue in IE6/IE7
I'm having a problem with the Spry Accordion widget that I
placed on this page:
WireCare Customer
Support
It works flawlessly in Firefox, but the tab expansion is
erratic in IE 6 and IE7.
If anyone has a solution, I'd love to hear it.
Thanks in advance.
Ken
Edit to add:
I'm using CS3 with the version of Spry that installed with
the original software. I don't know if that's the latest version,
or if the new version has a fix for this problem. I'll upgrade to
the latest Spry version and hope that helps.
K
Edit 2:
I am using the latest version of Spry, so it may not be a
version issue.
KFound the problem.
The solution was in a previous post on a similar subject.
I added a DOCTYPE declaration to the page, and it works much
smoother now. Not as nice as in Firefox, but acceptable.

Spry Menu Issues - Not functioning correctly in Microsoft IE
Hi there,
I am fairly new to web design and dreamweaver.
I have constructed a simple page that I am happy with complete with Spry Menu which again I am happy with. However this spry menu works perfectly in firefox but for some reason on IE my spry menu does not function correctly and goes all over my page!

JamieTHE CONFLICT IS BETWEEN YOUR DOCUMENT CSS AND THE SPRY CSS.
It is because the <li> and <a> TAGS have been styled and therefore OVERRIDDEN THE SPRY CSS.
Use CLASS TAGS e.g. <li class="anyclass"> and <a class="anyclass">
and STOP USING THE <a> TAGS.
N.b. you may need to unstyle any <a> or other TAGS that conflict with the SPRY CSS. (However it's best to start over knowing that styling basic tags may affect the SPRY CSS). -
Sorry if missed this post...
I have a CSS layout with a repeating background for my faux
columns.
I have two Spry collapseable panels in the left column with
alot of text.
If you open up both panels at the same time, it is probably
2500px high.
But, at some point my repeating background quits in IE7.
Firefox seems to
be ok. I hand coded my CSS to have height: auto on the
columns and content
but it still does not help.

IE7 + DWCS3 + Spry Accordion = Issues
I'm using the Spry accordion feature in DW. The page is
displaying fine in FF2 on PC. In IE7 each section is expanded
fully. When I select any of the sections they contract rather than
expand. It's weird. I thought that maybe it was something that I
had done with my CSS. So, I replaced my CSS with the default CSS
and inserted a temporary accordion to test with. It had the same
effect. Does anyone know how to fix this? The link to the page to
view what's going on is
http://www.pappasdg.com/jose/NEWSITEPROJECTS/teamforceinc.com/teamforceinc.com/services.ht mlI've figured out the problem for my issue. I had to insert
.AccordionPanelClosed {
overflow:hidden;
height:20px;
into my css. I would think that when DW creates the css file
it would automatically insert all the required css coding. -
PLEASE HELP!
I am building a website for my company using Dreamweaver for the very first time. I have a spry accordian menu on my page (that probably has nothing to do with my issue).
Next I added an iframe in the page to hold a vertical spry menu (since it will appear in other pages and I only want to edit it once. The menu was working fine until I did this.
Now that I embedded it in the iframe it is opening behind other things on the page. What can I do? Code is below:

Yet another Spry IE issue...
Hello all,
This is my first post and I did a pretty extensive search to see if anyone else has experienced the same issue.
I have created a Spry 1.6.1 Horizontal Menu Bar using Dreamweaver CS4. It looks perfect in Firefox and Safari (mac and pc) but in IE 7 and 8 on Windows (haven't tried an earlier version) the sub menus do not display correctly. It appears to "step" according to the length of the text. It seems IE is not displaying the background of the sub menu correctly. I modified the CSS file only to change the style, but I don't know if I messed it up in the process.
I'm probably not describing it very well so here is a link:
http://nickpinkham.com/spry/spry-test.html
Has anyone seen this issue before?
thanks
-NickWell after some playing around with it I found the issue in the CSS file.
This is the correct code:
/* Menu item containers are same fixed width as parent */
ul.MenuBarHorizontal ul li
width: 13em;
float: none;
background-color: transparent;
This is the original code:
/* Menu item containers are same fixed width as parent */
ul.MenuBarHorizontal ul li
float: none;
background-color: #0068ac;
I deleted the width when I should not have, and I should have used a transparent background instead of using the color already defined in a different style.
For reference, I have left the page up so others can see my issue, as well as fixed the issue in this link below:

CS6 Spry Menu issue with iPads
I created a website using Dreamweaver CS6 and everything is working fine except that iPads are having an issue with the Spry menu. When they make a selection they can't select another menu option where it is another menu from the main tree or a submenu item.
Spry uses a hover event, something that touch screens do not understand. You could go into the JS and change the hover into a click event, but then you are still stuck with old and discarded technology. Have a look here http://blogs.adobe.com/dreamweaver/2012/08/update-on-adobe-spry-framework-availability.htm l.
There are a number of alternatives to choose from. Just Google the subject.

After EHP6 Upgarde Picking list print out is resulting format & overlapping issues
Hi All,
We have recently upgraded our system from ECC 6.0 to EHP6 .Now when user trying to print a Picking list document then Print out is overlapping with content .
But when we check the spool the Print Priview looks good but when trying to print the content is overlapping & observed the font size is chaned i.e. the content is displayed in Bold format .
But for those spools which were created before upgarde & when we give a print then Print out is fine. So some thing happend after upgrade that causing us the Print out problem .
we are using device type HPLJ4 & try to print Picking list output and it is causing problem.
Kindly provide your suggestions.
Thanks and regards,
DilipHello Peng Wen,
Thanks for your reply and yes the issue got resolved . Actually we are using a custom device type ZHPLJ4 which is a copy of HPLJ4 . But as part of Upgrade ZHPLJ4 HELVE with scalablity is no longer supported. So we have removed the entry from SE73 as it even doesnt exist in HPLJ4 . Now it is working as expected.
Thanks a lot for your replay.
Thanks and regards,
Dilip
