Spry submeny FF vs IE7

Anybody who can help me with this one? I se a lot of posts on it but I can not figure it out. It seems to work in FF, IE8 and Safari, but not in IE7. Since almost 50% of IE users are still on version 7 I think it would be wise to solve it. Please help me!!!!

Hej Frode,
it remains in my previous answer, in my IE 8, I can't see a difference to my FF. And so I would imagine that your guess is right about IE7, with which I can't control your link (don't have IE7).

  • Spry Menu issue in IE7

    I am using a Spry horizontal menu, which looks fine in
    firefox and opera, but in IE7 & IE8 there is a small (maybe
    3px) unwanted gap between the top of the menu and the bottom of the
    header element above it. I've been looking all over, and it sounds
    like the "white space" bug, but none of the listed fixes I try seem
    to have any effect.
    Does anyone know what I'm missing? Is this a normal problem?
    Am I just too dense to notice the obvious?

    any ideas? anyone?

  • Dreamweaver Vertical Spry Menu Problem in IE7

    I just finished setting up a vertical, 3-level spry menu in

    been added in between the buttons, which spreads the menu out and
    looks terrible. The problem disappears after I clear the ActiveX

  • Spry Accordion Problem in IE7

    Hi,
    I have created a Spry Accordion containing 7 sections, using CS4. It works perfectly in Firefox, however there is a strange bug in IE7. The top section requires the scrollbar and this is working ok. However, the other 6 sections all have the same problem (btw, none of these other 6 are needing the scrollbar as the text does not fill the content area) - the bottom line of text in each of the 6 other accordion sections is not displayed. All the other text in the 6 sections is ok (other than the fact that the top margin is non-existent - I assume that can be fixed fairly easily)
    Has anyone else had this problem, and are there any know fixes?
    many thanks for any help offered

    Since the answer to your question requires some knowledge of Spry, you might want to post it in the Spry forum. Be prepared to post a URL to the problem page, if asked.

  • Spry submenu problem in IE7

    Hi everyone,
    I am having a problem with Dreamweaver CS3 where the spry
    horizontal menu's submenus shift over to the right and level with

    happens in IE7 however, not in Firefox or any other browser I have

    I tried the spry 1.5 js file "fix" but had no luck. Any help

  • Spry sliding panels crashes IE7 in a table

    I have a sliding panel within a table - it works in
    everything except ie7 - if i take it out of the table it works fine
    in ie7
    any ideas on how to fix it.
    it was being triggered from an image map - i changed that to
    a simple text link and it still wont work.

    I have the same issue - IE7 Freezing with a sliding panel.
    Works ok in other browsers including IE6.
    Anyone have a solution for this or know if it is a Spry or
    IE7 problem?

  • Vertical Spry menu works in IE7 but not Safari

    My vertical SPRY menu works well in various versions of IE
    but when I preview in Safari it has an odd way of creating the
    sub-menu. Here is the visual:

    Any suggestions? Dawn

    First thing is first. Your spry code is out of date. You are
    running version 1.4 and the latest is 1.6.1. Go to the page below
    and run the Spry Updater package:

  • Spry Data Sets and IE7 and IE8

    Whiile in IE 7 or IE 8, my spry data set is not displaying
    the data. However, using the Firefox browser, you can see the data
    within the spry data set. For some reason unbeknownst to me, IE 7
    and IE 8 in not allowing the spry data set to display the necessary
    data. Is there a fix to this issue? Can changing or modifying the
    HTML code help make the connection between the spry data set and
    its data in IE 7 and IE 8? Any assistance would be helpful. Thank
    you.
    To view my site where the problem is at, go to
    http://www.hrconsortium.net/hrworkshops.htm

    It gags in IE because you are saying that the Course_Date
    column is a date, but you have an "Open" word in the date column
    instead of a date. You can work around the problem by creating a
    custom column that replaces the "Open" keyword with a date in the
    past or the future, depending on where you want it to land when
    sorting (top or bottom). Then, leave your Course_Date column as a
    "string" column type, and set the new custom column to the date
    column type. Try something like this:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    <!--
    function CustomDateFilter(ds,row,rowIndex)
    if (row.Course_Date.search("Open") != -1)
    row.Course_Date2 = "01/01/2000";
    else
    row.Course_Date2 = row.Course_Date;
    return row;
    var dshrworkshops = new
    Spry.Data.HTMLDataSet("hrworkshop_table.htm", "hrworkshoptable",
    {sortOnLoad: "Course_Date", sortOrderOnLoad: "ascending",
    filterDataFunc: CustomDateFilter});
    dshrworkshops.setColumnType("Course_Date2", "date");
    //-->
    </script>

  • IE7 Padding Bug with Spry Effects

    I'm having a recurring issue with using the Spry Blind effect
    in IE7 where, when upon trigerring the Blind, the width of the
    element being expanded/contracted is expanding out to the right
    over it's edges.
    For example.
    A div with a width of 800px and a padding of 20px;
    When a Blind is triggerred on this element, the width of the
    element would expand to 840px, the padding on the left side remains
    fine, but the text now goes all the way to the right edge of the
    newly widened element.
    This has been extremely frustrating and doesn't occur in
    Firefox.
    I'm hoping this is a common problem. My implementation of the
    script is fairly straightforward so I don't know if there is
    anything else but a bug with the effect.

    Here is a somewhat messy version of the page I am working
    with.
    http://derekprospero.com/michael/example.html
    If you click the green down arrow at the bottom of the top
    right pane you will see the error.
    The table expands out past the borders of the div. The
    padding-left and padding-right on this div is 20px each, and it
    expands out to 40px past the border of the div, so I am assuming
    there is some correlation.
    It also happens on the bottom one, though it is not as
    evidence, since the text goes behind the background, isntead of
    over it.

  • Gallery Demo and IE7 Z-Index Bug

    What is the workaround that corrects the problem in IE7
    whereby Spry's Grow function shows enlarged images behind (not on
    top) of their adjacent micro thumbs. Thanks in advance.

    I'm confused. The example for Spry gallery DOESN'T use an
    anchor tag around the thumbnails... In your article and in some
    posts, you say that the structure is:
    <div id="thumbnails">
    <div class="thumbnail">
    <a href="image.jpg"><img src="image.jpg"
    /></a>
    </div>
    </div>
    However, I downloaded Spry_1_6_1_022408 and copied the
    example thumbnails element & content verbatim:
    <div id="thumbnails" spry:region="dsPhotos dsGalleries
    dsGallery">
    <div spry:repeat="dsPhotos"
    onclick="HandleThumbnailClick('{ds_RowID}');"
    onmouseover="GrowThumbnail(this.getElementsByTagName('img')[0],
    '{@thumbwidth}', '{@thumbheight}');"
    onmouseout="ShrinkThumbnail(this.getElementsByTagName('img')[0]);">
    <img id="tn{ds_RowID}" alt="thumbnail for {@thumbpath}"
    src="galleries/{dsGalleries::@base}{dsGallery::thumbnail/@base}{@thumbpath}"
    width="24" height="24" style="left: 0px; right: 0px;" />
    </div>
    <p class="ClearAll"></p>
    </div>
    NO ANCHOR TAG. Even if you look in the generated source,
    there's no link surrounding the thumbnail image.
    So I guess I am unclear as to how to apply your fix? Using
    the 1.6.1 version, the sample function code you show doesn't match,
    nor does it seem to reflect your modifications...

  • .swf audio echo/HTMLPanel (Experts needed)

    I have a bizzare issue (aren't they all?)
    I apologize in advance for not being able to post an example. It's proprietary content built on a custom platform using Spry Framework. I can't post it or I'd be fired. That being said, I have been able to duplicate the issue using a bare-bones example with just a simple HTMLPanel widget and a single panel content file.
    This issue is only occuring in IE7 (my company's default browser.) and I suspect it's some kind of network/server issue at the root of the problem, but I can't prove that... yet.
    The issue is pretty simple. I have a swf that contains an embedded sound (issue seems immune to Stream or Event sound types) which is contained in the content fragment to be loaded into the HTMLPanel. The swf should just auto-play once the fragment is loaded in the panel.
    When loading the above referenced fragment of the panel content file (which I'll refer to as a "page") into the HTMLPanel, there are TWO ?instances? of the sound that play... resulting in an echo.
    Observations/Facts
    Using Spry v1.6.1
    IE7 specific. No issue in Firefox or Chrome (unfortunatly, those are non-standard browsers in my world.)
    Have tried using both swfObject and a bare-bones object/embed tag on the content page with the same result.
    When viewing the same swf in an html page (the aboved referenced panel content file) in a single browser window (not the HTMLPanel), there is no echo.
    Co-workers in another remote location (where the server is co-located) do not experience this issue -or- there really are two sound instances but they are perfectly sync'd, thus no (perceptible) echo.
    Moving the mouse around the screen and triggering some other event (like a rollover) shuts off one of the sound instances, leaving one playing.
    Clearing the IE7 browser cache *sometimes* eliminates the problem... until returning to the "page". So, it'll play once correctly.
    The two instances of the audio track are staggered (thus the echo). By a second or two... consistantly.
    Have confirmed only one instance of the swf is being instantiated.
    Unable to "find" a second instance of the sound object when using remote Flash debugger.
    Moving the sound away from frame 1 to any other frame does not eliminate the issue.
    Forcing the swf to stop (not letting it play on it's own... require user to press a play button) eliminates the issue.
    I've tried debugging with Firebug-lite but can't find anything that would give me a clue. I'm stumped. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I'll be happy to provide any additional info I can.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hey there,
    Apologies for the delayed reply. I opted to NOT look at the computer this weekend.
    Let's see...
    Observers: I do happen to have an onPostUpdate observer assigned to the panel object that does some other page validation type stuff each time a new page is loaded into the panel. But, are you referring to adding the observer to the panel object or somewhere in the fragement that get's loaded into the page?
    I do have evalScripts set to true... which brings up sorta a good question.
    Assume for a moment that I use swfObject to embed my swf into the fragment and that the swfObject script executes as it should. Wouldn't that essentially be doing the same thing as an observer?
    For example...
    Load new content fragment into the HTMLPanel object
    evalScripts (true) allows swfObject to execute
    Object tag written
    swf plays
    What am I missing? Perhaps I have my DOM events out of order.
    You get as many guesses as you'd like!

    Thanks a lot for that tip. It does improve it by a whole lot.. i c what my mistake was.. however, something is still off
    .. The Drop down menu is not behaving well...
    As you may c by the picture, the drop down menu now moves to the right. and is not because of the object to its left, i've modified that. Zinger Products Drop Down Menu also does the same.

  • Spry Menu Appears different in IE8 and IE7

    All,
    As most of the people who post on this site I am new to Dreamweaver CS4.  I think I've done a pretty good job and programming my site and my skills will only get better with time.  However I am having one issue that I have wrestled with all day.  The site I am creating is located at http://www.greenehazel.com/beta.   The spry menu looks fine if I access it with IE8, but when I access it in IE7 some of the rows appear on top of other rows etc.   I have fiddled with the CSS on this for most of the day and can't figure out why this is occuring.  I have attached the CSS below.   What am I doing wrong?  Any help is greatly appreciated in advance.
