Spry tabbed panles default hide

Hello,
Im with some problems with the spry content tab. What I need is to:
as default hide the content of the spry tabbed panels and also hide on mouse out
please advise if you needto check my codes and site
thanks

I see that time has passed and you have not gotten a response to your question.
What exactly is to be hidden when the mouse is not hovering; what is to be showing when the mouse IS hovering?
It is possible that the solution will not be to use Spry Tabbed Panels, which would require a lot of adapting.
For a simple solution, if you don't mind the "contents" to be lined up next to each other, float divs next to each other. Set a height that encompasses your title but make the overflow: hidden. Add a css style that makes overflow: visible;
Here is some simple code for that:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
<title>Untitled Document</title>
<style type="text/css">
.change {
          float: left;
          height: 2.5em;
          width: 100px;
          overflow: hidden;
.change:hover {
          overflow: visible;
</style>
</head>
<body><div class="change"><h3>Title</h3>
<p>Here is a basic element</p></div>
<div class="change"><h3>Title</h3>
<p>Here is a basic element</p></div>
<div class="change"><h3>Title</h3>
<p>Here is a basic element</p></div>
<div class="change"><h3>Title</h3>
<p>Here is a basic element</p></div></body>
</html>
I fiddled around a bit with the tabbed panels, but couldn't find an easy way to make them appear and disappear on hover.
Your other possibility is to do disjoint rollovers using the Show-Hide behavior, but it seems difficult to have the "content" start out invisible.
I hope you have solved the problem by now, or that these suggestions give you some ideas.

  • Spry Tabbed Panel Defaults to home page with recordset paging

    I have Spry ver. 1.6.1.  A Spry Tabbed Panel titled "Check Ride Activity Report" (Tab 6)  accesses a mysql database and shows the records in a table format.  Instead of having all the records display at once I want to limit the records displayed to a few at a time. e.g. 5 per page.   I added a recordset navigation bar and set the $maxRows_GetChkRideRecs = 5;  It works but each time the navigation bar "Next" or "Last" or "First" or "Previous" is clicked the page reloads with the default Home page Tab displayed.  The user then has to click on Tab 6  to view the new results.  The url where this can be viewed is at http://Training.reliantair.com.  Is there a way to code this tab so that Tab 6 remains the default tab once it is selected until the user selects another tab?
    I want to avoid putting another  button on the page to accomplish this as shown in the spry utils samples where the user clicks to set the default tab.
    Can this be done within the recordset paging code similar to how it is done on a form submit to keep the focus on the current tab?

    I didn't try the cookie method suggested.  The tab method listed in spry utils does work but requires an additional button, so I came up with this solution.
    In the Head of the HTML document I put this code.  It searches for the query string in the HREF when any of the record paging buttons is pressed.
    <script type="text/javascript" src="SpryURLUtils.js"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    var params = Spry.Utils.getLocationParamsAsObject();
    if (location.href.indexOf("GetChkRideRecs") != -1  && location.href.indexOf("tab") == -1)
      location.href +="&tab=5#TabbedPanels1";
    </script>
    Then in the body of the HTML document at the bottom of the page  the tabbed panel widget is changed like this:
    var TabbedPanels1 = new Spry.Widget.TabbedPanels("TabbedPanels1",{defaultTab: (params.tab ? params.tab:0)});
    The first time a recordset paging link is  clicked the HREF attribute of &tab=5#TabbedPanels1 is added to the location HREF.  Subsequent clicks of any of the links do not change the HREF because the code looks for "tab" and does nothing if it is found.

  • Spry Tabbed Panles and forms

    Hi,
    I am having a problem with my code. My goal is to have a unique form across different tabs.
    Basically I want the user to send the entire information clicking only one button that is located outside the tabs.
    My first taught was
    <div>
    <form id="form1">
    <div>
    <input type=""... name=""
    </div>
    <div>
    <input type=""... name=""
    </div>
    </form>
    <input type="button" value="send" onClick="send()"/>
    were send is simply
    function send()
    document.getElementById("form1").submit();
    That code didn’t worked because every time I opened a div in which a part of the form was inserted it performed the form action (specifically it goes to the .php page that collect the information)
    Then I tried
    <div>
    <div>
    <form id="form1">
    <input type=""... name=""
    </form>
    </div>
    <div>
    <form id="form1">
    <input type=""... name=""
    </form>
    </div>
    <input type="button" value="send" onClick="send2()"/>
    Where now the function send2 is
    function send()
    document.getElementById("form1").submit();
    document.getElementById("form2").submit();
    Also this strategy did not worked because was sending only the second (or first i did not remember exactly) form.
    So I ended up switching to a function i found on the net the was collecting all the forms in document to one and post it
    function submitAllDocumentForms() {
    var arrDocForms = document.getElementsByTagName('form');
    var formCollector = document.createElement("form");
    with(formCollector)
    method = "post";
    action = "liveit.php";
    name = "formCollector";
    id = "formCollector";
    for(var ix=0;ix<arrDocForms.length;ix++) {
    appendFormVals2Form(arrDocForms[ix], formCollector);
    document.body.appendChild(formCollector);
    formCollector.submit();
    /* Function: add all elements from ``frmCollectFrom´´ and append them to ``frmCollector´´ before returning ``frmCollector´´*/
    function appendFormVals2Form(frmCollectFrom, frmCollector) {
    var frm = frmCollectFrom.elements;
    for(var ix = 0 ; ix < frm.length ; ix++)
    frmCollector.appendChild(frm[ix]);
    return frmCollector;
    This way worked perfectly but has a visually very bad outcome: when I click send it shows for a fraction of second all the checkboxes (that are present in all the different tabs) at the bottom of the screen.
    At that point I called a second function in the send button that creates a fake div just to push down the horrible checkboxes that were showing. Obviously that creates a scroll bar that resize my page and has an even worse effect.
    Do you have any suggestion?
    Thank you very much, and excuse me for my bad English

    I was able to figure it out by myself.
    I just needed to erase the line
    document.body.appendChild(formCollector);
    in order to not show the the ugly form that was collecting the data from the other forms.

  • I just want to make it go back to spry tabs default like when I started.

    I am new with spry tabs and I was messing around with the css changing things " this is how I learn trial and error" well I clicked something and it messed up my tabs and so I though no prob I will just start over but when I go to put the spry tabs in default it stays with the error it wont revert to default tabs. I just want to make it go back to like when I started.

    I don't understand, DWCC 2014 doesn't have Spry in it.
    Spry was abandoned by Adobe in 2012.
    Are you talking about the jQuery UI Tabs in DWCC 2014?

  • Spry Tabbed Panels - Start with no default tab??

    Hi all,
    Is there any way that I can have a spry tabbed panels widget
    and NOT have any tabs open when the page loads? I want to put
    multiple tabbed panel widgets on one page for an artist's
    discography
    example:
    Singles
    - tab 1 - tab 2 - tab 3 - etc. etc.
    Albums
    - tab 1 - tab 2 - tab 3 - etc. etc.
    Misc
    - tab 1 - tab 2 - tab 3 - etc. etc.
    I just want the page to look clean and compact - I don't want
    any default tab to display. Is this possible? I looked on the Adobe
    customization help for the widget but I can't seem to find an
    answer. I managed to achieve this by deleting the
    (this.defaultTab); part of this line in the .js file:
    if (this.defaultTab)
    this.defaultTab = this.getElement(this.defaultTab);
    But when I did this, if I created multiple widgets, the
    second widget and so on's tabs would not work properly, for some
    odd reason. I'm kind of a newbie so I apologize for not making much
    sense.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Spry tabs

    Hello Group,
    Not sure if I can do this very easily, but I am building an
    intranet application, and I used the Spry tabbed panels in
    Dreamweaver CS4. The tabs contain forms where you can update
    contacts info and after the save button is clicked to apply the
    change it refreshes the screen which sends you back to the first
    tab (default tab).
    Is there a way in DW or maybe javascript that you can refresh
    the page after save, but have it remember what tab the user was on
    and leave that tab visible?
    Thanks in advance for any help

    Was this what you had in mind for your tabs?
    <ul spryregion="dsStories" spryrepeatchildren="dsStories"
    >
    <li spryif="{ds_RowNumber} == 0" class="tabselected"
    onclick="dsStories.setCurrentRow('{ds_RowID}');"
    spryhover="tabhover" spryselect="tabselected" >{name}</li>
    <li spryif="{ds_RowNumber} != 0"
    onclick="dsStories.setCurrentRow('{ds_RowID}');"
    spryhover="tabhover" spryselect="tabselected" >{name}</li>
    </ul>
    You can hide the image like this:
    <div spryif="'{image}' != ''"><img src="{image}"
    alt="" width="100" hspace="5" border="0" align="left" class="img"
    /></div>
    By the way, you know you can put the spryif directly on the
    img. That is, you don't really need the div around it, unless that
    was intentional for styling.
    One other warning. Your XML uses "image" as the name of a
    tag. Safari has a bug in it where it translates "image" tag names
    to "img" automatically, so your page won't work in Safari cause
    Spry won't be able to find "image".

  • PHP Form in Spry Tabbed Content Div

    I have placed some PHP forms inside some Spry Tabbed Content
    divs. When the forms are submitted, the page reloads with the
    default tabbed content displayed instead of the tab where the form
    is. If I click to the tab with the form, I can see the information
    PHP properly returned.
    Does anybody know how to make the Spry Tabbed Content script
    return to the tab that had focus when a PHP form is submitted
    instead of the default tab?
    Thanks in advance for any advice.

    Hi,
    On the main forum page you will have read the following.
    Announcement: New to Spry, or  the Spry forums?
    Hide Details
    Before you post a topic please verify that:
    You are using the latest Spry files
    The latest version of the Adobe Spry Framework is 1.6.1, this is the same version that ships with Dreamweaver CS4. If you use Dreamweaver CS3 (uses Spry 1.4), its wise to upgrade your files to the latest version. This can easily be done using the Spry Updater that can be found here.
    After you have upgraded and not removed the remarks from the Spry files, we will have another look at it.

    If the user does not stop the movie before clicking on another tab the sound will continue and the movie will keep running in the background.
    How do I script the tabbed panel code to unload the swf content before going to another tab? And to reload the content when returning to pages with swf content again?
    Thank you on beforehand.

    Hi Sudarshan
    Please go to:
    http://gggraphic.com/t-mobile/tab_flash_test/
    Tab 1 shows a flv by embedding the code right in the HTML
    Tab 2 just shows text: Content 2
    Tab 3 shows a flv imported from another HTML page in a iFrame
    None of the movies are set to autoplay - you have to click the arrow to start them.
    This is what I found:
    On the Mac:
    In Safari, Chrome and Firefox:
    When playing the movie in Tab 1 (embedded flash object) > start the movie > then click tab 2 = the movie readily stops as desired, and loads the text on tab 2.
    When playing the movie in Tab 3 (iFrame version)  > start the movie > then click tab 2 = the movie keeps playing, and the sound will continue.
    On the PC:
    In IE 8 (which is my main audience) It makes no difference if the flash content is embedded or iFramed in = when clicking tab 2 the movies continues playback no matter which one (tab 1 or tab 3) is playing.
    Chrome: (takes longer to load) Same as on the Mac = the embedded verion provides the desired function.
    Firefox: (takes longer to load) Surprise!  It does not matter is the Flash is embedded or iFramed in = When tab 2 is clicked the playback of either of the Flash versions stop.
    What I would like:
    Ideally I would love a fix for IE 8 that would allow stop playback of the iFrame version, since it offers many advantages over the embedded version.
    Can you help me?
    Thanks on beforehand.

  • Hiding spry tabs until page loads

    Greetings, I am a professional beginner
    in spry and need to know if you can hide the content
    panels in spry tabs while the page loads (like you can hide the XML
    schema while a spry list loads). I have a page with four tabs that
    takes roughly 5-8 seconds to load all of the content panels. While
    it loads, the page shows all the tabs' panels stacked, then redraws
    with only the default tab showing as it should. This looks odd to
    the users and makes the page 4x longer until it finishes loading...
    ...Any ideas?
    Thanks!

    If hiding the tab content isn't a function for the tabbed
    panel, is it possible to retrieve HTML code fragments from within
    the same document as the panels? AdobeLabs has an example using
    updateContent to load the panel content when the tab is clicked,
    but it references an external HTML page...

  • Issue using spry regions in spry tabbed content

    I am having a slight issue with making a slideshow in a spry tabbed panel set. I have tested my XML used for the slideshow in a basic blank page, where I created the spry source and detail regions, and it loads fine. When you click on the thumbnail, the detail region loads the image. But when I place the slideshow in my websites page, it is inside a spry tabbed panel set. Where it just doesn't seem to want to work.
    Has anyone had this issue?
    I posted a copy of the page at the link below. The slideshow is under the portfolio tab
    http://www.fscproductions.net/spry/
    Thanks
    JF

    Hi,
    On the main forum page you will have read the following.

  • Submitting a Form in a Spry Tabbed Region

    I have a spry tabbed region with 6 tabs.
    I have constructed a menu which targets and opens the specific tab using the ?tab=4 type notation.  I have also created links between tabs using the same notation.  All works fine.
    I have a form in one tab which, when I submit it, I want to return to the same tab.  However when I use the notation <form action="index.php?tab=4" > the page just reloads on the first tab, stripping off the ?tab=4 part of the url. I have searched the forums but can't find any reference to how to target a specific tab when submitting a form.
    Any help much appreciated.
    Thanks
    John

    Hi
    Thanks for your patience.
    Because there are 8 tabs on this page there is a lot of code, much of it irrelevant, so I have copied below the chunks which relate to this part of the page.
    When the form is submitted the data being returned from the database is correct and is loaded into the page. It is just that the page loads the first tab and you then have to click on the 'Results' tab to see the data which has been returned.
    Ok, from the top of the page the php code which filters the recordset is as follows;
    <?php
    if (!function_exists("GetSQLValueString")) {
    function GetSQLValueString($theValue, $theType, $theDefinedValue = "", $theNotDefinedValue = "")
      if (PHP_VERSION < 6) {
        $theValue = get_magic_quotes_gpc() ? stripslashes($theValue) : $theValue;
      $theValue = function_exists("mysql_real_escape_string") ? mysql_real_escape_string($theValue) : mysql_escape_string($theValue);
      switch ($theType) {
        case "text":
          $theValue = ($theValue != "") ? "'" . $theValue . "'" : "NULL";
          break;
        case "long":
        case "int":
          $theValue = ($theValue != "") ? intval($theValue) : "NULL";

          break;
        case "defined":
          $theValue = ($theValue != "") ? $theDefinedValue : $theNotDefinedValue;
          break;

                  <p> <img src="../../../Images/Bali Scenes General/panoramic-views.jpg" alt="views" width="183" height="140" align="left" />Over the last few of years, investors have been targeting the northern area,  principally along the coastline ,  with its variety of pristine black sandy beaches, pebble beaches and rugged coastline, offering a variety of activities; scuba diving, snorkelling,  water sports, fishing, sailing. trekking  gives this area the potential to be world-class tourist destination. Research has shown that  property prices are set to rise above the average due to increased infrastructure development, and the planned opening of a new International Airport in the North shows the Bali Government's commitment to the develop this area as a future tourist destination.<br />

                    The Northern part of Bali  is also an excellent base for exploration further afield, close to the main portal for trips to other parts of Indonesia. <br />

                  <p> The main tourist area in the North is arguably <span style="color: #F00">Lovina</span>, with property prices reflecting this especially beach front or with panoramic views so expect to see prices a little bit more expensive in and around this area. However inland prices are still very reasonable.<br />

                    The area of the North of Bali travelling East from <span style="color: #F00">Lovina</span> towards the eastern part of Bali is quieter and more rural, with stunning coastline and secluded traditional village life, here life slows down, people are very friendly and happy to integrate with &quot;Bule (Foreigner), this life style is definitely completely different to the hustle and bustle of the South of Bali, perfect for future development and peaceful retirement, and with the development of the new <span style="color: #F00">International Airport</span> in this area, about 1/2 way between <span style="color: #F00">Singaraja</span> and <span style="color: #F00">Almpura</span> in the East, which makes this area an ideal investment opportunity as property and land prices are set to grow in this part of North Bali faster than other areas.<br />

                    <img src="../../../Images/Bali Scenes General/img_bali_1.jpg" alt="Quiet Lanes" width="189" height="124" hspace="2" align="left" />It has to be said that facilities for schooling, medical services and shopping are not as good as in the South or around Ubud area, which have higher concentrations of  established ex pat communities, and better facilities  also the job opportunities are not anywhere near as plentiful as in the South or Ubud areas, which limits the lifestyle for many people looking to settle in Bali, careful consideration has to be given if your intention is for a place for you to reside, and it is possibly an area for consideration as an investment opportunity, or for a development of hotel or villa resort, or as a second retirement home. </p>
                  <p>There are of course facilities for all the usual services and plenty of job opportunities, and a small but growing ex-pat community, especially in and around <span style="color: #F00">Lovina</span> and <span style="color: #F00">Singaraja</span> just not as many as in the other popular areas for ex pat's. </p>
