Spry works on IE6??

I am having an issue with Spry and IE6. When I search on the
web, I saw lot of questions related to Spry and IE6. 0ne extreme
post would be
http://forums.cnet.com/5208-6616_102-0.html?forumID=37&threadID=251584&messageID=2510029
Unfortunately, our corporation is still using IE6 as standard
so if Spry can not support IE6 out of box, it will be really hard
for us to adopt it. Could you please share your experience with
IE6? If you know any official documents detailing what is supported
and what is not supported in IE6, please let me know also. Thanks.

I have no problem what so ever with Spry, we are using it on
a site where our target group is 70% IE6. One of the largest online
hotel room booking agencies in the Netherlands and we have no
problem in IE6..
Also that post is from 2007, its 2008 now. So it was probably
talking about an older version... Just take a look at the samples,
they all work in IE6.. That is out of box... (

Hopes this answers your questions

  • Spry not working in IE6-Please Help!

I put this site together using Spry framework. The content is filled in using spry. It works well in Firefox, Safari and seems to work well in IE7 and IE8, however don't appear to work in IE6. Could someone please take a look at this and let me know what needs to be changed so that it works in IE6. Here's the URL:

    Thanks.

Well, that's progress. Unfortunately I work on a MAC so it's a bit rough to try to fix the problems in realtime. In any case, I did look at it newly and the last problem is that it makes the whole thing out of whack. Doesn't happen in older versions of IE. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

  • Javascript or applet dropdown menus won't work in IE6, How can I solve this

I've made some dropdownmenu's of javascript and one of java applets. But they don't work in IE6. If IE6 is installed they won't work either. My friend has IE5.5 and he has no problems with the menus. How can you make them work.
And how can you change the z-index of a javascipt/applet? How do you make a dropdownmenu that's put in the topframe slide over the mainframe?

Perhaps someone could help me with the following question:
I have a menu that cascades out of the Applet box. My question is:
How do I close the menu without clicking on the Applet box? - i.e. if the user clicks on the HTML area of the WEB-PAGE, or simply waits a second or 2, the menu should collapse?
I notice that this is actually the default behavior for the AWT classes - but then you can't set background colors etc. I need the same kind of behavior, but using Swing classes.
Would appreciate any assistance or advice...

  • Flash not working in ie6

I am starting to go a bit cross eyed here.
I am currently testing a site I am doing in IE6. There is a flash banner at the top of the site which works perfectly in IE7, FF, Oprah and safari but in IE6 it is just a white box. I have vista so I have to check this on another laptop using Multi ie as IE tester doesn’t register flash. I have changed to file name, made sure the param value has the correct url in it, and updated the latest version of flash. Still nothing is working in ie6. I need it to work in order for me to align it correctly but all I see is a white box which looks to be wider then it show be.
    Here is the embed code:
      <script type="text/javascript">
    AC_FL_RunContent( 'codebase','http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0,28,0','wid th','849','height','260','src','images/slices/flashbannersam','quality','high','pluginspag e','http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash',' movie','images/slices/flashbannersam' ); //end AC code

        <param name="movie" value="images/slices/flashbannersam.swf" />
        <param name="quality" value="high" />
        <embed src="images/slices/flashbannersam.swf" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="849" height="260"></embed>
      </object></noscript>
(sorry can't see how to wrap code on here)

As i said above I have no idea. All i get is:
"Version test for Adobe Flash Player
Ratings:8 of 9 people found this helpful
The SWF movie below displays the specific version of the Adobe Flash Player currently installed and active in your browser. For Flash Player 6 or later, it also tests to see if the debug or shipping version of Flash Player is installed. "
and then it is blank...this is when using the ie6 browser. I have to test ie6 using my bfs laptop because i have vista.

    Hello
I am pretty sure they know about this issue and software companies must not hear what the people say. For me it is logic that they watch what happen on the software market and try to adapt own products as soon as possible.
This issue with IE8 is known and soon or later the updated version will be offered on download page but the question is: when?
I cannot understand why they wait so long time. OK, to fix some issue and testing procedure can take a days but IE8 is not on the market from yesterday.
Lets see how long it will be necessary for AuthenTec to fix this issue.

    Hi Dhiraj,
When you click on the Log off button, do you see any yellow triangle icon (Something like warning) coming at the bottom left of the browser?
If so then you are experiencing a Javascript error with your browser. If you click on that icon a pop up should come up with the exact error.
If you get the error I mentioned I would recommend you to change the security settings of the browser to meduim or low.
Also if you go to internet properties->Security->Trusted Sites->Sites button,
You can try adding the URL of the Portal that you are using like :http://mysapportal
    See if this works.
    Thanks

  • Moodle grading works in IE6 but not Firefox 3?

I am new to Captivate, and I have conducted searches in Adobe's and Moodle's forums and have not found a resolution to this problem.
I have a quiz created in Captivate 4 that I am uploading to Moodle 1.9.1. The quiz displays, but the grades are not reported to Moodle when completed in Firefox or Safari. Interestingly, IE6 reports the quiz scores as expected.
I've seen some discussion of this problem, but no solutions. Surely others have used Captivate to create quizzes in Moodle? Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Hi Rob,
I'm trying out your settings as well as the settings posted on this thread: http://forums.adobe.com/message/892822#892822
My question is, in your instructions there are no checkmarks or visual marker to tell me whether these two settings should be checked or unchecked? (Maybe there is and it's not showing up on my browser)
    LMS Customization Settings:
    Never Send Resume Data
    Escape Vars & Session ID
Please let me know when you get a minute? And after I do the testing I'll report back whether this helps. For background, I'm having two issues with using FF:
    1. The sco data for interactions are not being stored if using FireFox as the browser. Worked on IE8.
    2. The scorm calls for FF/Opera take longer so user actions (like closing the course window) may interrupt these calls and so they are not stored in the LMS.
Thanks for the info in this thread btw!

  • Spry works in IE but not Firefox

    Hello,
I am kind of a novice at web development, but I have inserted the spry tab, and it works on my page in Internet Explorer 8, but it doesn't in Firefox 3.6.8.
The webpage url is www.portaldock.com with www.portaldock.com/index.html (not sure if that matters)

  • Firefox ClassNotFoundException (works in IE6)

    Hi all,
I've recently rebuilt a java application with about ten classes in the default package - rather than buried in a package three layers down.
Now, instead of running in IE6 and Firefox as it did before, it only works in IE.

    Hi mmannello,
I'm not sure if you've modified the page since you posted
this, but I'm not seeing any jumping when I load your current page
in IE6 ... what I do see is that you have 2 vertical menubars with
one menu item in each. Is that on purpose?

  • Exec(iexplore.exe) works in IE6 but not IE7

The following statement invoked from an applet works fine with IE6 but not with IE7:
    Process process = Runtime runtime.exec(iexplore.exe slicprint.html))
With IE6 the browser (iexplore.exe) is launched and the slicprint.html file is rendered (appears on screen).
With IE7 the program just "hangs", i.e.the browser does not get launched (nothing displays on the screen).

Welcome to the Sun forums. But..

Instead, it is better to [copy/paste errors and code snippets,|http://pscode.org/javafaq.html#exact] or better still, post an SSCCE of failing code.
Hmm.. and just so we are all clear. Why exactly are you not calling [AppletContext.showDocument(URL)|http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/api/java/applet/AppletContext.html#showDocument(java.net.URL)] to achieve this functionality that has been available to sandboxed applets since Java 1.1 and works, most of the time, cross-browser and cross-platform?
