Spyware message blocking my OS X Safari browser. Asks me to call for help.

How do I clear a Spywear message from my Safari browser and make sure my MacBook Pro is safe.

Press cmd-opt-esc. That will bring up the Force Quit window. Select Safari and click Force Quit.
Open Safari while holding down the  shift key. That will prevent Safari from reopening the same websites.
This is normally a Javascript running that causes what you see. If you return to the same websites, you may see it again.

Sorry for the second same words reply but I want people to see this is a scam thank you
this conversation has help me, today I had the same pop up scam announcement, I was searching in you tube yahoo and google about this no one apparently had this issue before, first I was going to call the original apple phone number because to me this pop seem awkward but the announcement had the apple name I gave it a try but using the call app phone booth just to see if it was the official apple phone number and if it was not who ever was asking me to call wont get my actual phone number, to my surprise it wasn't apple official phone number because I have called the apple official # and is nothing a like, I hung up all worried and sad with only one option in my mind called the apple support number, then I stop and thought for a minute and one clever thought came to my head that is brain lol, the clever thought was this "let me put this phone number in the web to see if it takes me to the official apple website" so I did it and the first pop up search was this article this conversation of you guys read it and follow the instructions they were very successful fix my issue, thank you so much guys, keep up the great work.

  • Error message installing Itunes and new Safari browser

Hi! I can't seem to download the newest version of ITunes. I've had it forever with no problems. I get error message 2738. I got the same error when I tried to download the new Safari Browser for Windows. I also got it when trying to uninstall Quicktime. I think that Vista is not cooperating with Apple. Anyone else having this issue? Any ideas?
    Dell Dimension 8400   Windows Vista

even though the following document refers to XP rather than Vista, it's worth a crack on a Vista box:
iTunes and QuickTime for Windows cannot be installed without Visual Basic Script (VBScript)

  • My problems with Safari may be just too unique for Help, but  . . .

Alright, let me try to describe confusion as best I can.
I've had a late `06 iMac since early 2007. Upgraded to Leopard when it was new, but since then really couldn't afford the rampant newness every few months.
While I applaud the digital evolution, I've also had enough of relearning every blessed thing over n' over instead of learning & using what I already have,
but let's cut that rant off and get to the current bug-a-boos.
For a few months recently my 27" desktop suffered escalating freeze-ups and hard restarts while it became clearer it was prob'ly the graphics card.
3 weeks ago we reached the point where it wouldn't get past a blue-screen unless I booted in safe-mode . . and with all those limitations, and the green-grids over everything of a darker color, that's no replacement for a functioning Mac !
Since then I've been running off an external clone of the HD.
A 3 TB Seagate, which oddly had no Firewire, but was the only model that I could find fitting my needs at the time.
USB has certainly been sufficient in the past, but now ? . .  it's most likely not the core cause of my aneurism inducing situations anyway.
What I've got running off the external is a refurbished laptop I bought at an Apple store in late 2006 when the super-drive was gonna' have the Mac sitting with the geniuses for a week or more ( I had some money then . .  sigh ).
    Refurbished in `06 would prob'ly make it, what ? . .  a 2003 maybe ?
I'm not gonna' reboot to it just to confirm that.
Anywhy . . .  times in the past I ran the laptop from a clone did not produce what I'm dealing with now : Netflix thinks I've migrated settings to a new computer and there's a DRM problem, and other such stuff . . .
But Safari going into beachball constantly is what's tearing out my hair !
I often have to open and force-quit it 5 or 6 times till it works . . briefly !!
And kernel_task / root user is usually at the top of Activity Monitor's CPU usage nowadays as well.
I doubt emptying Safari's cache when it finally opens helps much, but it seemed to for awhile.
What can I try, or where should I look in my rather unique configuration, just so I can function for more then a few minutes, till I fix or replace the iMac ?

2 hours later, and the joy with Console continues :
native on the MacBook -- crashes in seconds everytime
from the booted-to external -- dare to touch it and it's beachball time on & off forever.
At least Activity Monitor could take a sample.
Now how to fix the tool I needed when the tool is broken ??
Sampling process 3817 for 3 seconds with 1 millisecond of run time between samples
    Sampling completed, processing symbols...

  • Safari crashes on launch -- but Request for Help fails to post...

For a week, I've tried to post a message,to the "Safari for Mac" forum. But it fails to post.
Instead, I get a message, advising "We'll be right back".
Other people have been posting messages during this week -- so what's wrong with mine?
My message is a request for a solution to my problem of Safari crashing immediately on launch.
The message includes a Safari Crash Report, which is quite detailed (as a textEdit file, compressed Archive, it runs to 29KB).
Hoping that this brief plea gets through. TIA.

The problems are caused by third party input managers/enhancers that have not yet been updated by their developers to comply with the standards used by Safari 4.1.and/or Safari 5.
    In your case these are:
    007af000 /Library/InputManagers/SIMBL/SIMBL.bundle/Contents/MacOS/SIMBL
007f4000 /Library/InputManagers/Ecamm/Ecamm Plugin Loader.bundle/Contents/MacOS/Ecamm Plugin Loader
    00e0a000 /Library/InputManagers/Ecamm/Plugins/iGlasses.plugin/Contents/MacOS/iGlasses
00e45000 /Users/john/Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/VideoboxSafariPlugin.bundle/Contents/MacOS/VideoboxSafari Plugin
    02cd6000 /Users/john/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/iGetterBundle.plugin/Contents/MacOS/iGetterBundle
02e02000 /Users/john/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/iGetterBundle.plugin/Contents/Resources/iGetterSafariBundle.bundle/Con tents/MacOS/iGetterSafariBundle
You fill find them in one or either of these folders:
    Home/Library/Input Managers
    Hard Disk/library/Input Managers
    Hard Disk/Library/Application Support
although the exact location is indicated in your crash report as quoted above - look under 'Binary Images'.
Close Safari and delete them, then restart Safari and it should be working normally. Alternatively drag them to the desktop and restart Safari. then add them back one at a time, restarting Safari every time, until you find the one (or more) causing the crash.
Check with the developers of the plug-in/s in question for updates that are Safari 5 compliant.

  • Safari browser stopped working

    Hello.
I hope someone could kindly help me explain whats wrong if my safari suddenly can't open some pages. Yesterday it stopped opening facebook. it did open home page but as i tried to login it would give me some unknown error. today i couldn't also open my gmail.com as well as google. it would give me a message like this.
Safari can't open the page "https://www.google.com/". The error was: "unknown error" (NSURLErrorDomain:-1) Please choose Report
Bugs to Apple from the Safari menu, note the error number, and describe what you did before you saw this message.
Other sites open without any problem. Also I didn't do anything before it started to happen. didn't download anything. wouldn't go to strange sites. I suspect its a problem with my Safari and i had to do something horrible and go and download firefox. through firefox everything works just fine. but i want to find out what to fix to use my safari browser.
thank you in advance for any advice.
    Kristina

    Hello kristina:
    Welcome to Apple discussions.
In addition to resetting Safari (make sure you look at the list of things that will be reset - for example, you may want to keep your cookies), trash the preference file (com.apple.safari.plist) and restart.

  • Scrolling Favorites in Safari Browser

    Hi there.
    Please forgive my poor english-knowlege.
I do not know since when I got aware of the fact that when I opened a website I saved in the "Favorite List" of the Safari-Browser and then return to the Favorite List, i have to scroll down the whole List again. I think that`s annoying because I am used to go back to the Favorites and being able to go on scrolling through the List where I last left it.
On my old 2G Iphone it was functioning (I think it started with Firmware 2.0.0) , but now with the newer firmware updates and the new Iphone 3GS it seems the Safari Browser got no remembering function for the "Favorites List".
Anybody out there who came across this problem too ? or Why is this so?
    Is ther any solution?
Any answers according my Problem would be appreciated.
    Greetings
    OLL

There's not a setting that I'm aware of. You can use your "Space" key to go one page down at a time though

  • I confront the message "blocked plug-in" on most included windows of safari browser internet sites on my old Macbook running snow leopard 10.6.8. Adobe flash updates are disconnected by Safari before they can be downloaded. Any cure for this?

I don't know if this question has already posted but if not here is my problem: I repeatedly get a blank screen except for the error message "blocked plug in" when browsing in safari and trying to view web page included videos. Is this an Adobe flash player rejection? I keep getting Adobe flash player update messages but when I click download this is blocked by Safari or OS security. Any user-fix out there?

Which Safari? Which Flash? I'm running Safari  5.1.10 (6534.59.10) w/Flash Player 13.0.0.214 and am not getting any of those messages. To get the latest Flash Player, go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer, download the latest version, and install it.

    Backing up QuickTime's advice --
Unless your bank's website is insecure, you're fine.  Go up to the Safari "Search" bar and type in Rapport.  You'll be amazed.  It may  "work" on PCs, but definitely not Macs.  And it's not needed for Macs.

  • How to permanently disable this message: "Press Esc to exit full screen." (by Adobe Flash Player) in Mac's Safari Browser?

    Hello everyone,
I have been searching for sometime (without any success) for a solution to permanently remove this annoying message: "Press Esc to exit full screen."
Whenever I go to full screen mode, watching any video on YouTube, BBC, CNN (or many other websites which use Adobe Flash Player for streaming video) I have to bare seeing this message for several seconds until it fades away. Seeing this message once or twice would have been okay, but as we all watch many videos on a daily basis on internet, after weeks, months and now years seeing this message over and over again many times every day, it becomes very annoying, and I find myself rewinding many videos to their beginning after this message fades away to be able to watch it from the beginning without anything obstructing it!
Does anyone know how to "permanently" disable this message from appearing?
I am using the latest version of Safari 6.0 on the latest version of OS X (Mountain Lion 10.8.1), and have the latest version of Adobe Flash Player (Plug-in version 11.4.402.265) installed on my new MacBook Pro 15" with Retina Display.
    Thanks,
    Ally

    Thanks Carolyn,
I am attaching a screenshot here for you to see that this setting was already set to what you suggested. I didn't need to change it as it was like this even before I post this message.
So the problem still presists and unfortunately your suggestion is not a solution to this probelm.
Last night I did more reseach and found a discussion in Adobe website, it seems a lot of other people have the same issue, and even started a discussion in Adobe website about it. But unfortunately Adobe refuses to address it and enable the end user at least to have an option to turn this message off from displaying permanently on his/her computer.
I am writing down the url links for the two posts regarding this issue on Adobe's website:
    Link #1: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/921270
    Link #2: https://bugbase.adobe.com/index.cfm?event=bug&id=3058752
Hopefully more people will get involved and ultimately we will either get Adobe's attention, or someone will find a "hack" and post it here for all of us. I have found some suggested "hacks" for Windows environment (you can simply google it, I am sure you will find them too). But so far I haven't seen anything for Mac's Safari browser.
    Cheers,
    Ally

    Might be a Safari extension...
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab.
If there are any extensions installed, turn that OFF, then quit and relaunch Safari to test.
