ofcourse you can do that. create a generic datasource using infoset and give your query name in and activate the data source. Post if you have any problems.

select the query and go to QUERY in the menubar then goto more functions where you have an option display report name it will give you the report name.
Menubar ---> Quer ---> MoreFunctions ----> Display Reportname.
Now GOTO SE93 to create the transaction code and give the transaction name what you want and give the report name and try to give the screen number as 1000. As 1000 is the default screen for the SAP generated programs.
give the GUI support as SAP GUI for Windows if the operating system is Windows.
or
GOTO SE80 and select the program and give the program name you will find the screen number there right click on the report name and got to the context menu
Create ---> Transaction
Fill the required fields.
this will definitely work

Creation of Query - SQ01

Can anybody expalin in brief regarding how to write a quiery using SQ01?

Santosh - I am also new to SQ01, however I have some suggestions that hopefully will be helpful to you. I recommend starting with the QuickViewer. You can access this from SQ01 or via SQVi directly.
From here you can create your own queries (similar to local objects) which can then be converted into InfoSets/Queries in which users can access.
1. Enter a name + Create
2. Give a description, decide if Data Source is a table (single) or a join (many)
3. I assume you are creating a join. When you select join it will take you into the tool to generate the query. The first step is selecting (and joining) your tables. Insert table (Shift +F1) will get you started here. Once all your data is selected you green arrow back to select/map out your selection criteria and the data in which you wish to list in the results.
4. You can execute from here as well to confirm your results
5. Once you are good to go, you can easily convert this query by going back to SQ01 (select SAP Query). Enter your QuickView query name and then in the menu path select Query --> ConvertQuickView. This will then prompt you through the steps to convert your QuickView Query into an SAP infoset/Query.
6. Once you have created the SAP Query you can then assign usergroups via menu path environment --> usergroups for authorization. This allows others to execute your query, however not create one themselves.

I am generating a report in foreground using SQ01 is SAP Query and I am getting proper data in ALV format.But whenever I am running it in background , after completion of the program ,I am getting an error message " No List Available " Although it is taking the same time to run as that of it takes in forefround.

Hi,
It seems you are doing SUBMIT JOB instead of JOB_SUBMIT. The control is coming back to the calling program before the spool is executed.
Include the following logic, which won't come back to the calling program unless the background job is COMPLETED or CANCELLED.

The whole process comprises of three steps.
1) Creation of user group - Transaction associated with creation of usergroup is SQ03.
2) Creation of infoset - Transaction associated with creation of infoset is SQ02.
3) Creation of queries - Transaction associated with creation of query is SQ01.

Obtaining QM Historical Data for SPC Analysis

Can someone please advise me if ECC 700 has a standard BAPI/RFC to return historical QM data. I have searched through BAPI Explorer and didn't not see anything which would fill this requirement.

Here is the link. This is considered old tech, but I have not gotten anyone's specific input on why it should not be used. There may be reasons. I have used it twice, once just playing around and with only one caveat, it was pretty easy to implement.

The document covers 5 or so RFC calls. You will need to check the field names since they are defined internally and do not use the table column names (of course). Probably the only thing left out of Sam's document. One of the RFC calls will give you the internal field names.
You will also need to create your own query in SQ01 in SAP prior to doing the other stuff. I think there is a way to do it via the BAPI calls, but I could never get it to work the one time I spent half a day trying. It might have been a permissions issue, so if you want, go ahead and play around.

SAP Query (SQ01) - create and save queryies

Hi Expert;
We wanted to implement SAP query reporting (SQ01) tool, and already developed custom HR infoset and user groups and transported to QAS. We experienced the problem that we can not directly "save" any queries in SQ01. We pretty much have the client opened up and set at "Changes without automatic recording". But keep getting a "transport object create" dialog upon "save" query. But in Adhoc (PQAH), we don't encounter same problem. We wanted our users be able to create and save any queries directly without creating any local objects. Is there another setting that needs to be set?

Hello Helen,
in SQ01 you can save queries like in HR Ad Hoc Query (or Infoset query as it is called outside HR).
However this is only possible in the "Standard Area" not in the "Global Area". However as Ad Hoc Query is based on the SQ0x basics it only hides this effect.
If you are doing HR specifics you should consider the documetnation on the special HR switches:

How to Hide Empty Column In SAP Query (SQ01)

I was crated a report in sq01 based on business requirements , but there are some fields without any content , in sq01 if you select one of output fields in the right side of the screen in the left side you can see "List Fields" T in the list fields there is a check box , the name is "Only display field if <> 0 " , but when i check it, it doesn't work , guys is there any one to help me to eliminate column without content , in the result of sap query (sq01) ??

I want to create new sap query in sq01 , the requirement is like this eg:- customer a/b/c , I want to generate the list of last created sales order for the customers a/b/c here I have given 3 customers but I have to execute for 1500 customers
If customer A creates 3 sales order in that 3 sales orders I want to pick last sales order on 12.09.2010 / 15.09.2010 /17.09.2010 in that I wnat to pick the last sales order 17.09.2010
So in query report sq01 how to create, plz provide step by step procedure with this logic

SAP Query SQ01 column limitation issue

At SQ01, I have created a number of custom reports via SAP Query.
Its a great tool and all, but I am running into a problem where there is a 255 character limitation when I create a Statistics view (where it summarizes values by characters I choose).
In the SQ01 Query screen, this is controlled by the columns field under the heading list format and if I list too many objects, I get a message stating report has exceeded 255 character limitation.
Is there any way I can modify this value, so I can exceed it (say 500?)?
For us, we use many query reports in our daily reporting so it would be worth modifying.
If anyone has any info on this, please advise (or feel free to PM me!)

I knew the TCode of the query which I had created using tcode SQ01. user is using this query to see the report
Like I created query named 'order_line_details'. This query is basically to see the order & other details. To use this by user one TCode'zncv_ord_item' has been created.
So in the system lots of query are available. So i want to know the Tcode for those query that are using by user.

SAP query in Grand Totalling in SQ01 wrongly calculation

Dear All,
I have created a SAP query for getting few ledger accounts data in the clients specified format.
But I am having a problem, that debit and credit amounts are getting added in the 'Total' field.
The credit amounts are not getting substracted from the debit amount.
For eg :
CoCd     G/L          Year     DocumentNo      Amount in LC     Crcy     D/C
1000     4071101020          2007     9600000002     3,300.00          H
1000     4071101021          2007     9600001413     40,000.00          S
1000     4071101022          2007     8000000000     2,020,012.80     H
Grand Total                                                                2,063,312.80
Where as total should be -1,983,312.80, where 'H' is credit and 'S' is debit.

You may need to:
1. Either group by the Debit/Credit Indicator (SHKZG), create two subtotals for each and then subtract one from the other, or,
2. Multiply the Credits by -1 (again use the Debit / Credit Indicator to sort this for you) and then get a total field.
This is an inbuilt problem with queries (SQ01, SQVI, etc.).
