Hi,
usually when you upgrade, it should not delete your files, but if it happens, than you should have a backup.
Unfortunately it is very common, that people don't know, what exactly is in the backup.
The question is, what files exactly you are missing? Own pictures, or taken with the device? Purchased music form the iTunes Store, or own? ....
Documents and files are mostly up to the developer of the app, if they are part of the backup, usually not and you need to transfer them before.
In the backup you will find just pictures from the Camera Rolle folder, everything else you should have on the PC, if you had it on the device.
Same then for music, you can transfer purchased music from the device, but your own works just one direction, from PC to device, from device to PC it doesn't work.
In future I recomand you to be sure how the backup works or use a 3rd party app (iExplorer) where you have a little bit more "freedome" than with iTunes.
Or you maybe just restored from the worng backup

How will sql certification be helpful for a datamining career

Hi,
I have recently started to learn oracle and i am planning to go fro Sql certification in Oracle 9i. I also have a plan of venturing into datamining utilities in oracel 9i. Few advised that sql cert can be a good starting point. Can any one share some word of wisdom on my option or might suggest some other alternatives that might prove to be useful.

How can we know how many processors are enough to buy?
I know that each SQL Server edition and version has it's different limitation of the number of processors it can support, for example SQL Server 2012 Standard Edition can support up to 4 sockets or 16 cores per SQL Server Instance, but this does not mean
that I have to buy 4 physical CPUs. two could be enough. how can I know?

SQL Gurus : Need Help in building SQL query

SQL Gurus,
Need your expertise to solve my below problem:
- I have a column that had comma separated data, basically there are the levels in a hierarchy. eg The same column could have the following data:
Row 1: R1L1, R1L2, R1L3
Row 2: R2L1, R2L2
Row 3: R3L1, R3L2, R3L3, R3L4
For assumption purpose lets assume that there are maximum 5 Levels
I want to put this data from this column into another table which holds the levels. I am expecting the output in another table as follows:
Col1____Col2 ____Col3____Col4____Col5
Row 1: R1L1___R1L2____R1L3____null_____null
Row 2: R2L1___R2L2____null_____null_____null
Row 3: R3L1___R3L2____R3L3____R3L4___null
How do i achieve this ? ie coverting the comma separated values in a column to separate columns. The # of values in each columns could be different as I have showb above

My computer freezes and stops working I NEED HELP FAST I bought it 3 days ago from BestBuy brand new

my computer i bought 3 days ago from BestBuy brand new in the box freezes and stops working or not responding and lags all the time and i always have to push the power button on the computer for me to restart it because i cant do anything on my computer i cant use ctrl + alt + del or click on anything and i spent $965 on my HP Pavilion HPE Series h8-1224 computer with 10GB ram and 2TB HDD and 1024MB Video memory with windows 7 home premium 64bit...I need help on how to stop my computer from freezing up or lagging or not responding all the time because i dont know what program i installed last before it happened or what i did wrong i dont know i just want my pc running perfect forever

When I open up photo booth, it just freezes and then lags. Need Help!!

Ever since I upgraded to Lion, my photobooth freezes upon opening. It's begining to really annoying. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

(1) First, restart your Mac and test again. If the problem remains:
• Use the  > Software Update... menu command to be sure
    your Apple software is up to date. Then test PB again.
    If your Mac still does not work correctly, continue.
• Use Disk Utility to repair permissions and then
   download and apply the 10.7.2 Combo Update:
     http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1459
• Repair permissions again immediately following the system restart
   that completes the Combo update.
Properly applying the Combo version of updates sometimes
corrects strange problems. If not, try (2) below.
(2) This takes longer, but it may be necessary to correct the problem.

• First try using Lion Recovery to repair your disk. Then test again.
• If repair does not correct the trouble, your initial Lion install may have
been faulty. You will need to reinstall Lion to correct a faulty installation.

does not show version 10.7.2, Mac apply the Combo update again as above.
After you have reinstalled and updated Lion, do NOT reinstall any third party
software, at least until you have tested PB and have it working properly.

My iPhone 5 keeps saying sim failure and invalid sim I need help please!?!?!

I really need help I just got my iPhone 5 yesterday and its telling me "sim failure" and then "invalid sim" shows up on the top left corner. I had an android before so I didn't need a SIM card so I went to apple and they gave me one and them went to sprint to activate my iPhone to my number but it still shows those annoying messages!!!

this is my second nano sim and i made an appointment at apple and they swapped my iphone for a new one and still the same should i call customer service? its getting me so ****** cause i have to pop the sim slot everytime it tells me sim failure so it can go back to normal then in 5 mins it shows up again

Have Tesco unlocked the iPhone ?
If the iPhone was on a Tesco contract it is more than likely locked to them and will not work with another network

You need the previous owners password to unlock the phone. If you can't get that, then your phone is useless.
Nobody, not even Apple, can unlock it for you.

Oracle SQL Newbie need help with OE Demo Schema Installation

Hello everybody !
I'm hoping some kind soul can help out this SQL newbie.
First of all i've installed 10g R2 database on a PC running XP SP2.
Oracle is installed on the root C: drive
I'm using the SQL Fundamentals I Exam Guide and DBA Handbook (Both Oracle Press)
as my reference.
My problem is this.
I installed the DB and created the demo HR schema without too much problem
but it's the demo OE schema i'm having problems getting running and cannot
find anywhere on the net that outlines a step by step SQL process.
I am using SQL Plus to execute these commands.
My questions are these:
-For the default tablespace i specify "users" ?
-What do i specify for the temporary tablespace ? "temp" ?
-what directory path do i put for the data files as parameter 6 ?
I put down "C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\demo\schema\order_entry" but i suspect it's
the wrong thing ?
-What do i specify for the writable directory path for the log files ?
Is it C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\RDBMS\log
-And what is "Specify version as parameter 8:" line ?
I assumed it was the db version but i believe it's wrong.
Could somebody please help me ? I've already done my CCNA and i wanted to add oracle under my belt.
I know if i had these few things cleared up for me it would pave the way to actually enjoying learning Oracle :)

I installed the DB products from the companion disk and there was no specific mention of the demo schemas. Regardless... They're all there within the demo subfolder and have already created the hr schema.. I just need somebody (I'll pay if necessary) to PLEASE just answer (what would be easy to you guys my questions so i can move on.

Like i can figure out that the "version in parameter 8" has something to do with the coe, poe & loe files
but i don't know what.

PL/SQL error, need help!

I have a piece of Java code that errors out with an "ORA-01850: hour must be between 0 and 23" error. The get_alerts stored procedure returns no results (blank). Once it calls getObject(1), the error is thrown. There doesn't seem to be any issues with the PL/SQL code and I can't identify a data issue, either.

Hi Neethu,
It gives you an overwiew of blocking Oracle sessions.
1. In general, the SQL checks Oracle sessions (SID's) that were requirering a DML lock ('TM') and now holding row locks (TX) to prevent destructive interference of simultaneous conflicting DML or DDL operations. DML statements automatically acquire both table-level locks and row-level locks ('TX') => holders
It joins these with the sessions that are waiting of releasing the lock by the holders => waiters.
2. it retrieves the detail information wich Oracle process , the object (table) , it's row , block and file
are affected by the locks.
3. Normally, the locks are only hold for a short period of time. If you have blocking sessions it may be of a log running task (i.e. mass data update of a table) ; but it could also be a application bug due to improper handling of concurrent updates of the same object.
4. Tuning
V$tables are expensive to query: Why?
v$ tables are generally Oracle memory structures.
v$ tables are not read consistent.
v$ tables require latches to access -- cannot modify and read memory at the same
time.
heavy access to v$ tables like this may cause some serious heavy duty contention.
Especially if you self join V$lock several times.
So the best would be to save the contents of V$LOCK in some table:
Create table mylocks as select * from v$lock;
Use that table for self-joining and joins to the other tables.
You can also CTAS the other v$ tables to bypass the performance bottleneck while retrieving
v$ directly.
You can empty or drop the created tables any time for new data.
Because you want to investigate only lock hold for a longert time to copy the v$ memory structures into
physical tables is not a disadvantage. You certainly will wait longer on finishing your query
instead of copy them into the tables.
