can anyone help me to get free materials for it.
exam: 1Z0-047 Oracle Database SQL Expert Exam

OR
Oracle Database 10g: Introduction to SQL
I checked for this in all kinds of ebook sites , but no use. so please help me out.

Hello,
You can't find better than this for free, this is all for 10g and you can find similar books (oracle documentation) for 11g.
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/appdev.102/b31695/toc.htm
http://asktom.oracle.com (search for your specific questions)
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14195/toc.htm (Sql Quick Reference)
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14356/toc.htm
http://forums.oracle.com/forums (always free)
You can get hold of this from some public library http://www.amazon.com/Oracle-Database-Expert-Guide-1Z0-047/dp/0071614214/ref=pd_bbs_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1231991713&sr=8-1
You might be already doing this and if not, download relevant oracle software version and sql developer and start playing.

  • Will Oracle pl/sql certification help me get  IT job

    Hello guys,
I have completed my B.tech in Computer Science, I am confused a bit , Can i get a job after getting certified in Oracle Associate Pl/sql developerYou may get a job after achieving Pl/sql developer OCA
You may get a job after without achieving Pl/sql developer OCA
You may fail to get a job after achieving Pl/sql developer OCA
You may fail to get a job after without achieving Pl/sql developer OCA
There are several factors involved in getting a job. And there are several ways a job may be obtained. But usually there are there stages:
    - Stage Zero: A company but has a job to offer.
    - And you need to be aware of it. - A friend may tell you, or an agency may tell you. And it must suit you for location and remuneration etc.
    - Stage one: An interview is obtained with the company.
    - Stage two: The job is offered to you rather than anyone else and you find it acceptable.
    So ... to your question:
"Can i get a job after getting certified in Oracle Associate Pl/sql developer?"
Well .... there is only three possible answers ... yes, no, and maybe; and maybe is probably the only correct answer, and most people will have worked this out, which means the question may have not been the best question to have asked.
(( That said I now read the title of the thread and it says: Re: Will Oracle pl/sql certification help me get IT job)
I have been known on occasion to have been given a question by a boss.
    And I have answered him:
"You have given me the wrong question
The question you should have answer me is this.
And the answer I will give you is this."
And the boss goes away happy
So you you a better question would have been:
How much will an OCA PL/SQL certification increase my chances of getting a job?
Mind you even that question won't help you get a much better answer.
For a proportion of jobs where PL/SQL is relevant that will help (for those where it is not it might be occasionally be a problem), for people with identical CV's it sometimes might help get to interview stage. But there are other factors as well. For instance if I was thinking of giving you a job on the basis of your post I might for example:
    - Not be impressed with an "Hello Guys" greeting ( though this is a forum so that isn't relevant here).
    - Not be impressed with you being confused.
    - etc.
You probably need to get a good appreciation of the job market in your locality; and the numbers of applicants for each job. Which jobs you can apply for, what is your skillset and knowing youself as well.
Sometimes an ITIL certification may be a better differentiator for some positions in business. But it will depend on the job you can think you can get.

  • Wht's the best n basic material to prepare for Oracle SQL certification

Can anyone suggest me the best material to prepare for the Oracle SQL certification.

I have no problem with that Sarma. It is that 3rd little voice in the OP's head that makes me quite nervous.

  • What book to use for SQL certification?

I'd like to know what do you recommend me to study best:
Course ID: D47359, Oracle Database 10g: SQL Fundamentals Self-Study CD Course Self-Study CD-ROM
    or
    Course ID: D20964 Introduction to Oracle9i: SQL Self-Study CD Course Self-Study CD-ROM
for SQL certification. I have many years of experiences in Oracle SQL (SQLplus, PLSQL, forms, reports), but I think I'm weak on tricks and tips and on the last new syntaks.
    Thanks!
    m.

    IMHO
Course ID: D47359, Oracle Database 10g: SQL Fundamentals Self-Study CD Course Self-Study CD-ROM is better as 10g is latest version.

  • How will sql certification be helpful for a datamining career

    Hi,
I have recently started to learn oracle and i am planning to go fro Sql certification in Oracle 9i. I also have a plan of venturing into datamining utilities in oracel 9i. Few advised that sql cert can be a good starting point. Can any one share some word of wisdom on my option or might suggest some other alternatives that might prove to be useful.
    Thanks in advance

How can we know how many processors are enough to buy?
I know that each SQL Server edition and version has it's different limitation of the number of processors it can support, for example SQL Server 2012 Standard Edition can support up to 4 sockets or 16 cores per SQL Server Instance, but this does not mean
that I have to buy 4 physical CPUs. two could be enough. how can I know?
This is off topic question how can we answer it. We even dont have any knowledge about your application.
Please speak to licensing specialist about servers and cores below link will give you more information.

  • SQL certification for a java developer?

    Hello,
Can somone please let me know which dba or sql certification I should get as a java developer? My heart is at application development but I though having a solid knowledge in sql queries or database management would help me in writting a better softwares.
    Please let me know.
    Thank you.

....I have been thinking slightly on our debate .... ( and have these rushed thoughts before heading for bed).
    * I am sure we both agree on the certification study journey and knowledge gained being more important than the end certificate (except perhaps the certificate is needed for job interview or OPN partner points)
    * wrt 1z0-051 .... Taking a test that doesn't provide a certification is even more pointless.
... IMHO it may a have little value to some
[1] ... they can still say exam passed on CV .... maybe that helps get a job.
[2] it is chance to gain experience of certification exams ... 1z0-047 is a tough introduction to certification exams.
[3] It is a chance to get a quicker certification exam 'win'
[3] It is a cheaper exam (as it it online available and not 'high stakes' ... ie does not give a certifcation by itself).
    .... 1z0-051 is about 2/3 the cost of 1z0-047
But I am willing to accept this is a perhaps a small set of positives; and thier may be no point for many.
I really don't like the fact that anyone wanting an Oracle (Enterprise Edition) SQL certification (without PL/SQL) has to go for SQL OCE. An earlier certification would be better.
I generally like the CIW Database Design Specialist: (Exam 1D0-541) content .....
I would certainly modify my earlier idea of 1z0-047 having as a pre-requisite an earlier SQL exam / certification as a pre-req ....
And would certainly have 1z0-051 or CIW Database Design Specialist: (Exam 1D0-541) on the pre-req list ...
( There are precedents for non-oracle exams/certs being acceptable in lieu of an oracle exam .... eg LPIC-1 for 1z0-402 )
( There is however IMHO no precedent for an OCE exam having another exam as a precedent ).
.... Apologies to original poster .... I may have sidetracked your orginal question with a slight debate.

  • Studying for PL/SQL Certification, which ver of DB to install

Just a quick question, I am about to embark on studying for Oracle PL/SQL Developer certification and wonder what version of the database people recommend installing on a home machine.
Would people recommend Express Edition, Standard Edition, Standard Edition One or Enterprise Edition?
    Thanks

Given that the differences in PL/SQL between them are effectively non-existent, I'd recommend installing XE since there would then be no question of the legality of your install. Nothing that you'll need to know for the exam will require anything that you can't get from using XE.

  • IZ0-144 PL/SQL certification Study material

    Hi,
Can somebody guide me as to where I could find the pdf format study material for IZ0-144 exam?
    Thanks in advance.
    regards,
    KNR
PS: What I meant is legitimate version.
Edited by: KNR on Mar 19, 2010 9:02 AM

While I don't think there is a hard copy version of this material, the 'Oracle PL/SQL Language Reference for 11gR2' is downloadable in PDF form and is a good place to learn from or use as a reference. It can be downloaded at :
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/appdev.112/e17126.pdf
However, it is not specifically written for the certification, nor is the certification based off of this PDF document. Therefore, it may or may not cover all the exam objectives and those that are covered may be discussed in insufficient, or possibly excessive, detail. It's best to double check the exam objectives and use this PDF only as a learning tool and not an authoritative study guide.
As I am also studying for this exam, I keep a copy of this on my laptop for when I have a little free time but I don't have a book or wireless internet connection available. Hope that helps.

P.S. Quick note about a statement made by the prior poster (or****) before it causes any confusion. He said...
"That being said to gain Oracle Certification you have to have taken the Oracle Certified course."
That is not quite true. While the Oracle course materials may be the best study guides available, there is no Oracle Certified course required for the OCA or OCP level PL/SQL (Advanced) Developer certifications.

danialI haven't seen anything like Java+SQLServer2000 certification. I know that you can get MCSE certification from Microsoft that has a branch that includes SQLServer2000, and you can get Java and J2SE certification from SUN. You can also get Oracle certification, which is a much better fit if you are thinking of combining a DBMS and Java.
Microsoft and Sun don't get along, and nethier do their respective softwares (Sun is one of the only companies that took Microsoft to court and won.). Microsoft did release a beta JDBC driver awhile ago. I'm not sure if it has made it to production status yet. Doesn't really matter though, because Microsoft will guarantee that Java and SQLServer2000 will be hard to make work, the JDBC driver will be buggy, and performance of SQLServer2000/JDBC will be guaranteed to be significantly slower than any SQLServer2000/.net implementation.
Microsoft has always made sure that a competing integrated technology looks bad when compared to Microsoft's. A perfect example is when Microsoft wrote an Oracle ODBC/OLEDB driver that supported Oracle under Microsoft's Visual InterDev. After they had gotten 1000's of Oracle customers up and running on Visual InterDev, they pulled support for the driver, made sure it didn't work in the next release, then provided the Oracle customer with a smooth and easy transition to SQL Server, that the customer had to take, or there applications were not going to work for 8 months. This particular move by Microsoft made my architectural decision look completely stupid (VID * Oracle), so I'm still angry about it. (BTW, subsequently Oracle is providing a working OLEDB driver that works well with VID, but there really was an 8-12 months swing when they did not work together).
Yikes, I really got off the subject here, sorry... Must be all the caffeine and sugar I've had over the last 48 hours...
