Hi,
The "Missing class: oracle.dbtools.raptor.export.ExportObjects" is used in 3.0 (found in oracle.sqldeveloper.jar) but not 3.1. Did you not remember to install 3.1 into an empty directory? That would also be the most likely reason for the issues you encountered in these other posts:

DRM Batch Client error during export
Hello,
I am experiencing an error when using the DRM Batch Client to execute export books. The same export process fails sometimes and runs to completion successfully at other times. When it fails, it does not always fail in the same place within the export process, and the error is as follows:
2/2/2011 8:31:40 PM - ERemotableException with message: "Server was unable to process request. ---> Error during Export. Export was unable to run. Error: Timeout expired" while running Export Book
2/2/2011 8:31:40 PM - => ERROR: Data Relationship Management Server returned error: "Server was unable to process request. ---> Error during Export. Export was unable to run. Error: Timeout expired."
2/2/2011 8:31:40 PM - *** MDMConnect stopping ***
Because this issue is sporadic, it seems like there could be a few possible causes:
1. Network issues
2. SQL connection/time-out issues -- These particular exports are writing to SQL tables versus flat files
3. Am wondering if there are any known issues with the MDMConnect? Or are there time-out settings we can adjust?
We currently have our in-house IT chasing down any possible network or SQL issues. Does anyone know of any issues with the batch client, or have ideas on any other possible causes? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
EJThere is a timeout setting in DRM system preferences and there are mulitlple session timeout settings in IIS that you may need to configure. Try the system preference first. For very large jobs, ie. hundreds of thousands of nodes with hundreds of properties per node, you'll need to update settings in IIS as well.

ERPI Error during Export data to GL for period 2012
Hi, experts
When I write back data from Planning to EBS, I encounter the following error during Export data to GL for period 2012. I have confirmed that Planning data has been upload to ERPI.
Do you have any hints on this error for me? Thanks a lot.

SQL Developer 2.1.0.63.73 exports DATE as TIMESTAMP
I believe this is a bug. When I export a table to an XLS file, the values contained in DATE columns are saved as if they were TIMESTAMP:
eg. 31-DEC-09 12:00:00 AM would export as 31-DEC-09 12.00.00.000000000 AM
Not really a huge deal until you try to import it back in, in which case you can't import a TIMESTAMP into a DATE column. First, you'll get an error about the AM/A.M. or PM/P.M. missing. You can't explicitly specify the date format during the import either as Oracle rejects it since it's not supported. The proper way is to cast it back to a date, but you can't do that through the import function.
Regardless, I think the export function should export DATEs according to the Date Format NLS settings but it is not.
If it makes any difference, I'm using the 64-bit Windows version of SQL Developer on Windows 7 64-bit with the Oracle 64-bit client.Hi,
Not sure if this is something related to my previous problem.
My SQL Dev gives the correct date format on exporting to Excel, but fails on export INSERT statement
Vasan, one of the sql dev's team member, gave this workaround which solved my problem
>
You can add the following in the sqldeveloper.conf to ensure that the driver doesn't report the column type of a DATE column as TIMESTAMP.
AddVMOption -Doracle.jdbc.mapDateToTimestamp=false

as suggested in this thread

Error during export & import of rules in RAR 5.2
Hi all,
We followed the steps mentioned in exporting & importing the rules as per the Config guide. But we
are receiving the below error during the import of rules. Can anybody please throw a limelight on why this error message is appearing?
"Error in Table Data ==> VIRSA_CC_CRPROF
SQL==>Insert into VIRSA_CC_CRPROF(VSYSKEY,PROFILE,RULESETID,RISKLEVEL,STATUS)Values(??????)
Record==>D VIRSA_CC_CRPROF null"
We also ensured that the downloaded file is not truncated and saved it in a separate folder. Does the file needs to saved in ANSI or Unicode text? We saved in ANSI
Also the background ground job is not getting scheduled automatically during the import of ruels. Is that due to the above error?
Thanks and Best Regards,
Srihari.KHello Sri,
background job for generating the rules won`t be scheduled before you upload the file successfully.
The most obvious reason for this error message is that you have line in your file - in table VIRSA_CC_CRPROF that is corrupted. Make sure all lines from table VIRSA_CC_CRPROF have all predefined fields - (VSYSKEY,PROFILE,RULESETID,RISKLEVEL,STATUS).
If you keep hiting this problem just delete this table, after the upload you`ll add the critical profiles manually - I bet you don`t have many of them.
Also from my experience I always choose to save the downloaded file in UNICODE UTF-8 format.
Once the file is saved in other format, there`s no use of it, download it again and save directly in Unicode.
Make sure you don`t have empty fields, even in the fields where you don`t have values, you must leave space, otherwise you`ll keep hitting the same issue.

Oracle SQL Developer installation and Java
I finished installing Oracle Client without problems. Opened up SQL Developer for the first time and he asks me for the full Java.exe pathname.
That's fine, but when I input the java.exe I just get asked again, no errors. Repeat until infinity.
I installed the newest Java SDK and tried both 32-bit and 64-bit versions (jdk 7u4). I even tried installing Oracle Client version 11.1.0 AND 11.2.0 to see if that make any difference, but it's all the same.
I have uploaded a screenshot if that helps: http://i50.tinypic.com/mjtqte.jpg
Any ideas?
Regards,
Gunnar ÓskarssonHi Gunnar.
Documentation:
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E25259_01/doc.31/e26419/install.htm#sthref8
Ideas:
-Do not use java7
-Use JDK not JRE
-On widows there is a version of SQLDeveloper including java 6 jdk
-Instant client is not required - but if you want to use it use at least 11.2.0.2
-Updated SetJavaHome in sqldeveloper\sqldeveloper\bin\sqldeveloper.conf to point to the JDK
-There is some confusion over 32bit and 64bit Operating System, java and SQLDeveloper, you can search the forum for details, eg: thread title: "Unable to start Oracle SQL Developer"

SQL Developer 3.2.20.09 - Database Export generating an unusable file
I am using the Database Export option in the tools menu to create a script to create schema objects. Unfortunately, the output of the script is not very usable. There seem to be extra '/' throughout the script. Here is a sample:
-- DDL for Sequence ADDL_INFO_GROUP_SEQ
CREATE SEQUENCE "ADDL_INFO_GROUP_SEQ" MINVALUE 1 MAXVALUE 2147483647 INCREMENT BY 1 START WITH 1 CACHE 1000 NOORDER CYCLE ;
-- DDL for Sequence ADDL_INFO_NAME_LANG_SEQ
CREATE SEQUENCE "ADDL_INFO_NAME_LANG_SEQ" MINVALUE 1 MAXVALUE 2147483647 INCREMENT BY 1 START WITH 1 CACHE 1000 NOORDER CYCLE ;
-- DDL for Sequence ADDL_INFO_VALUE_SEQ
CREATE SEQUENCE "ADDL_INFO_VALUE_SEQ" MINVALUE 1 MAXVALUE 2147483647 INCREMENT BY 1 START WITH 1 CACHE 1000 NOORDER CYCLE ;
-- DDL for Sequence ATTACHMENT_GROUP_SEQ
CREATE SEQUENCE "ATTACHMENT_GROUP_SEQ" MINVALUE 1 MAXVALUE 2147483647 INCREMENT BY 1 START WITH 1 CACHE 1000 NOORDER CYCLE ;
Obviously, having both the ';' at the end of the statement and the '/' on the following line will cause an error when the script is executed.
Has anyone else seen this kind of behavior?In SQLPlus, this script will attempt to create everything twice, resulting in
ORA-00955: name is already used by an existing objectfor each line.
If SQL Developer doesn't do this then its SQLPlus compatability is broken.
This is messy and undesirable for DDL statements, but will definitely result in the wrong behaviour if there are insert statements. -
SQL Developer not launching / W error Screenshots
Okay I'm a student in belgium. and i'm studying ICT.
We are learning pl SQL with Oracle. Last week we had to use SQL Devloper,
Now here comes my problem. I am pretty new at all this. But SQL developer doesn't launch at all!. I tried versions with and without JDK
That didn't help either. I recently completely formatted my computer and it still doesn't launch.
Now i found out that when you open the program in the "sqldeveloper\sqldeveloper\bin\sqldeveloper.exe" location you get to see a console or something.
Now when i open sqldeveloper.exe from that location a command line window pops up for like 1-2 seconds and then dissapears.
With a lot of trying to capture what came inside the cmd window i managed to take a screenshot of it.
The screenshot gave an error that has something to do with xml, but i have no idea how to fix it.
Screenshot URL: http://users.telenet.be/bl0empot/Capture2.PNG
Sorry for my bad english,
I'll be checking this thread hourly to answer additional questions!
Thanks in advance!I solved the problem myself.
It seems that my user account "wh0emPah!" Bugged the java thingy.
Removing the exclamation in it solved all my problems lol.

Version:
SQL Developer: 1.5.3 (build main-5783)
Oracle DB connected: Oracle9i Enterprise Edition Release 9.2.0.6.0
Stored procedure code like this:
procedure search(V_STATUS_IN IN CHAR(1)) is
begin
declare
V_STATUS CHAR(1) := NULL;
begin
V_STATUS := NVL(V_STATUS_IN, '%'); -- error line
end;
end;
The stored procedure runs well (I mean no oracle exception) when called through Java code (and in TOAD). But when debug/run in SQL Developer, following error at the error line:
$Oracle.EXCEPTION_ORA_6502:
ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small
--------------------------------------------------*/What parameter are you passing in? It is possible you are trying to cram a multibyte character into a singlebyte container. What are the nls settings for the database and for sqldeveloper?

ODM within Oracle SQL Developer 3.0 , no progress during Workflow creation
Hi,
I am trying to follow the instructions mentioned at http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/tutorials/obe/db/11g/r2/prod/bidw/datamining/ODM11gR2.htm
In the "Create a Workflow and Add a Data Source" section when i try to create a new New Workflow from the menu, the Oracle SQL Developer 3.0 just shows a progress bar pop up with message "Validating and Updating Workflow". The workflow does not gets created even after 6 hours while the progress bar keeps moving. I tried it several times but no luck and hence not able to move further.
Thanks in advance for the help.Hi,
Are you using the SQL Developer 3.0 Production Release?
Can you try again, but this time launch SQL Developer using the following file:
C:\<SQLDEVELOPER INSTALL DIRECTORY>\sqldeveloper\sqldeveloper\bin\sqldeveloper.exe
This will display a console window prior to SQL Developer UI being displayed.
There may be some unexpected exception that is being thrown.
It should display in this console window and give us more information to go on.
It sounds like you were able to create a Project ok.
Did you have any issues during the install of the repository?
Did you happen to save the log?
If so, can you paste it in this thread?
THanks, Mark -
SQL Developer Extensions in Java
Hallo,
I am trying to find some tutorial/sample/example about extending the SQL Developer in Java. The documentation about the XML-Extension seems pretty good, but the only usefull [site |http://wiki.oracle.com/page/SQL+Dev+SDK+How+To+Create+a+Java+Defined+Extension] I've for java extensions contains a [broken link to the example file|ftp://ftp.oracle.com/svrtech/outgoing/sqldev_sdk/java_simple_tablespace.zip]. Does anyone know, where to find something like a getting-started in the java extensions for sql-developer? Or where to find some example file?
Many thanks!!

Re: User Defined XML Extension - Java Defined
And if you search the forums for "xml user extension" you'll find a few more threads on the subject.
Also, look in my web site:
http://www.smdi.com/employee/JohnF/
There is a link to my ODTUG paper on extending SQL Developer, and you can download my extension to browse the Oracle Designer Repository as an example of how to write a Java extension that is mostly XML with only a little Java. -
SQL Developer asks for java.exe with the version that has java built in.
I have a user with the following platform:
Windows XP2
SQL Developer Version 1.5.4
The version they are trying to get running is the one that has the JDK built in. However, when they try and startup SQL Developer it asks for the location of java.exe.
However, when I run the same exact version on my workstation, I do not receive the prompt for a java.exe.
I checked the documentation, and I couldn't find anything related to this particular issue, however I may have missed it.
Can anyone provide me with any guidance please? Thanks.Resolved. There was a difference of permissions on the user's machine.
