SQL driver setup

Hi all,
I am sure you must have sen this a million times before but i am rather new to all of this so any help would be appericiated.
I am trying to set up a connection manager class to link to a MySql database. I am using the resin mysql driver and the code compiles fine. whenever i try to run it though it throws out the following:
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.caucho.jdbc.mysql.Driver
And yes i have set the classpath to point at the jar file containing the driver and the only import i have is java.sql.* the code itself is:
protected Connection con;
protected String driver ="com.caucho.jdbc.mysql.Driver";
protected String url ="jdbc:mysql-caucho://192.168.0.165:3306/store";
/** Laod the driver and make connection to the database */
public Connection logOn() {
try{
Class.forName( driver );
con = DriverManager.getConnection(url,"","");
} catch(Exception ex) {ex.printStackTrace();}
return con;
Whenever i try to use the logOn() method i get the above error

I don't have the driver that you refer to available here but I've seen this problem pop-up before and after lengthy investigation turn out to be a misspelled package / class in the driver class name. I'm implying nothing about your abilities but it might be worth double-checking before you investigate further.

  • Problem with SQL driver

    Hi
    We're on Sap Dataservices version 4.1
    We're trying to control the SQL driver to be used for communicating with external warehouse.
    currently we get this error <[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver] Optional feature not implemented
    We have had a look at note 1624626 - seems like our problem, but we're not able to perform that tasks specified.
    Install Native Client for MS SQL Server 2008 - done
    Modify all data sources associated with the job to use the native client - how??
    Modify db connection of the datastore associated with the job
    Restart Job Service
    Run the job.
    Any help will be appreciated.

    Hi Henrik,
    As per the trailing post, when you had installed/updated the Native Client for MS SQL SERVER 2008, then there are some changes you need to take care about the repository connections as well as data store connections.
    Every job server is associated with at least one repository, In your case if the job server has a repository in MS SQL SERVER 2008 then do refresh the connection by going into
    DS server manager -> Config EDIT -> select the job server -> select the repository-> click on edit and reenter the credentials.
    Then do click on close and restart, only by doing so the services will restart and changes will take effect.
    By doing these steps, you had Restarted the job service as well as modified data connection to the repository associated to the job server.
    Lastly log on to the Designer and refresh all the data stores associated with MS SQL SERVER 2008.
    You can do this by just selecting the data store from the project explorer, right clicking on it and click on edit. Reenter the login credentials and click on apply.

  • Hard Drive Setup for Creative Professional

    Hi. I own a Mac Pro 3Ghz tower, and I only have one 250Gb hard drive along with an Iomega external 250Gb hard drive. I really need to upgrade my hard drives and create proper backups. I'm just not sure about the best options for backing up all my data and what the best options are for setting up my harddrives. Can anyone offer advice to a graphic designer that needs to upgrade his hard drive setup? I'm not sure what Raid is, so I would need to better understand what that does as well. I guess I need a road plan for the best way to go about all this upgrading.
    Thanks.

    Hi There,
    I know you posted this more than a month ago, but i thought i'd see what you found and...what you can offer me in the way of answers. I appreciate any help you can give me!! Thanks in advance. I might have a couple options for you too.
    I have the same set up pretty much. 1 250gb internal, 1 250 gb external, plus a 175gb external that i keep off site. Files are everywhere, yes i have copies, but it's an organizational disaster and not fail safe. If i lost a clients job, i'd loose more than the cost of just setting up a good backup system.
    I found a few things out.
    You can set up a software raid on your macpro using disk utility(although I don't know how to do it yet). (for raid info, look up raid on wikipedia, it's just a variety of ways to create more than one copy of data on any # of drives. 2 drives is a mirror image, 3 can be striped(any one drive can fail), and more...there are speed advantages with these too. )
    Anyway i have 3 bays open for drives in my 2.66ghz quad. So setting up a software raid is option 1 - but from reading forums it seems like this isn't easy and requires maintainance? If you add a drive or remove one it erases all drives(?).
    There is a system my friend turned me on to called Drobo.
    It seems like the easiest solution and one that is lasting, check out the website at drobo.com it's external, has 4 bays and you can add and remove drives on a whim and upgrade up to 4tb. seems the easy solution, but costs 500 and then you need to purchase drives. but you can use any drives and it seems maintanance free.
    Any recommendations - is software raid easier than I imagine?
    Anyone have any offsite storage ideas? (.mac would be ideal, but it costs so much for storage and it's slow).
    Looking forward to hearing your solution, and any advice for me.
    Thanks,
    Josh

  • External Hard Drive Setup

    Hello! I am an amateur filmmaker aged 17, and for the past couple years I have been using my school's excellent computers (iMac 2010 27"), software (FCP 7), and external hard drive setup (500GB LaCie Rugged Firewire 800).
    I'm gonna be a senior this year and am looking to create my own setup. I got myself a 15" MacBook Pro Retina with 16gb memory, 2.3GHz quad core processor, 500GB internal solid state storage, and am using Premiere Pro as my software. The only real thing I'm missing (besides audio setup, which isn't as important to me right now) is external drive for faster editing. I want a lot of storage but at the same time high speeds all for the lowest price. I also want to use my external drive for other stuff like family photos and music.
    MY idea was to get a 500GB 7200rpm hard drive (not sure which one) to store all the footage I want on hand and then get a 4TB desktop hard drive (cheaper) for all the rest of my stuff and to store footage I no longer need quick access to.
    My questions are:
    What hard drives should I get?
    Is this a good solution?
    Is 4TB overboard?
    Should I be spending this much as  a 17 year-old?
    Should I just stick with internal storage for now and not pay for external drive?
    btw, one of the 500gb drives I was looking at was by Touro. Trustworthy?

  • IMac Hard Drive Setup Recommendations/ Thunderbolt

    Hi,
    i am planning to get a new top spec 27" iMac with 256GB internal SSD and will use it mainly with Premiere CC and After Effects CC to edit Red Epic Footage. Mostly 3 to 10 minute web videos. I am now thinking about the best Hard Drive Setup and could use some help.
    My actual plan would be:
    OS/Programms:  Internal 256GB SSD
    Project Files:       external 2TB USB 3 Hard Drive
    Source Footage:  CalDigit T3 Raid 6TB (Raid 0)
    Media Chache:    256GB SSD with the Thunderbolt Go Flex Station
    Outputs:            external 2TB USB 3 Hard Drive
    Should this work well?
    - How well works daisy chaining with thunderbolt: Is it ok to daisy chain a monitor to an thunderbolt connected hard drive or will this slow things down? How about daisy chaining a second hard drive? Should both hard drives then have "read" or "write" tasks or could i daisy chain an drive for my Renderings (write) to one with my Source Footage (read)?
    - If i use a 5-bay Thunderbolt Raid enclosure, is it possible to use 3 drives in a Raid 0 for my source footage and drives 4 & 5 in Raid 1 for my Outputs (Renderings) or Projects? Or would this be a bad idea?
    - How important is the size/speed of my Media Chache/Previews drive? Would an 256 GB SSD in an thunderbolt enclosure be a good choice?
    - What read speeds should my storage for the source footage have so it`s not the bottleneck? Is there a big benefit from a 3-drive Thunderbolt Raid 0 vs. a 3-drive USB3 Raid 0 (both Software Raids)?
    - What write speeds should i have for my Output storage?
    Thanks a lot for the help!

    Hello,
    Looking at your issue I am wondering if your media is corrupt.
    What edition of SQL Server you are trying to install? Did you download that media?
    If you downloaded it, perhaps you should try to download it again.
    Are you able to install that SQL Server 2008 on another machine without any problem?
    Hope this helps.

  • Spectrum digital DSK5416 driver setup gives an error when test wizard is run.

    Please help us with the following problem we are facing:
    1.    Spectrum digital DSK5416 driver setup gives an
    error when test wizard is run. A snap shot of the same has been
    attached.
    2.    The A/D module doesn’t pickup microphone signal or
    an audio sample for loopback but the implementation of the same works
    fine in CCS environment. (We are using Mic In and Speaker Out lines)
    3.    When a real-time application has run successfully
    and if you close the VAB environment the application starts running
    automatically until you reset the board.
    4.    We don’t find the flash program button enabled, so
    that any real-time program can be burned into flash and demonstrate the
    embedded feature.
    Note:
    We are using Windows Xp professional edition.
    Program is developed using DSK5416

    Hello, I have included some information that will help address your questions: (1) I couldn't see the attached image file (contained errors). The RIDE/VAB DSK5416 Driver makes use of a JTAG communication when reading/writing memory on the DSK5416 hardware. You will need to make sure that the JTAG transfer option has been selected in the Driver Setup dialog box. The memory test process may seem to take a long time due to the amount of memory being accessed. (2) The VAB RTDSKAD block component provides a one-channel A/D input that makes use of the line-in channel on the DSK5416 hardware. (3) VAB does not remove the downloaded DSP executable program from DSK5416 memory, and it does remain resident. That being said, I wouldn't expect that the program would begin execution when VAB is closed. I would recommend that you verify that the DSP program stopped properly upon selecting the VAB Stop command. Then, close VAB as normal. (4) The RIDE/VAB driver for the DSK5416 does not support programming of flash memory on the DSK5416 hardware. Regards, Steve

  • Optimal External Drive Setup

    Ok, I have read through all of the posts in this forum related to USB vs. Firewire, and optimal drive setup (regarding recording files, samples, etc.). I have Logic Pro 8/7 installed on my internal drive. I currently have a USB 2.0 drive for my samples, and a FW400 drive for my audio recording. I am upgrading the audio recording drive now (as it is only 250GB), and am wondering if I should upgrade the samples drive while I am at it.
    There are two FW ports on my iMac. Currently, my PreSonus Firepod is plugged into one, and my audio recording drive is plugged into the other. Here's my question in relation to the Samples drive. Would it be faster to continue using the USB 2.0 drive, or to purchase an additional FW400 drive and daisy-chain it to the audio recording drive? I understand that FW400 is generally faster and more reliable than USB 2.0, but is that still the case when daisy-chaining?
    Related question: if it were faster to daisy-chain the extra FW400 drive, should I daisy-chain it to the audio recording drive, or to the Firepod? Or should the Samples drive have its own bus, and the audio recording drive be daisy-chained to the Firepod?
    Thanks so much for your help.

  • SQL Server Setup Failure 0x84B10001 (SQL 2012 SP2 and SQL 2014 Standard)

    I'm having a problem with SQL Server Setup. I had SQL Server 2012 R2 SP1 installed, and the SP2 installer would fail.
    I decided to just get SQL Server 2014. The setup (and system configuration checker) for that fails with the same error.

    I found this and other posts about similar problems that point at MSDE being the cause.

  • Microsoft SQL Drive and Weblogic 10 error

    Hi
    I am getting following setting up JDBC connection between Weblogic 10.3 and Microsoft SQL 2005. I have always worked with Oracle, first time with Microsoft SQL. From what I read only SQL 2005 drive comes with weblogic 10.3. Can you please tell me what are the correct step to get it working? Thank you.

  • Best external drive setup?

    I guess I can't be called 'new' to Macs, I've had the mini since May of 2005, but I would like to know what you would recommend in terms of external drive setup.
    As I began to fill the 80 gb internal, I added a FW 250gb external. It's not full (about 90gb free and 20 gb free internal), but I have virtually all my video and photographs on the external...and it makes me nervous.
    So, I saw a Lacie 320gb for under $100 and decided to get it. Originally I thought, even though it is USB 2 only, that I could set it up as a bootable drive, like I could w/ the FW drive...but I don't think I can do that.
    Now, I wonder if it is best to leave it as MS-DOS, or should I format this as Mac OS extended? what are the benefits?
    Should I move everything from the FW to the USB? and then reformat the FW?
    thanks
    ultimately, my goal is to use one external as the location for my working files, and the other as a backup...is there a better way?

    Thanks Gordon,
    In terms of speed, I still feel the FW drive will be slightly faster than the USB 2 drive, so I plan to use that drive for the work drive and the 320 to backup to.
    My internal is an 80gb...and I have only 19-21 free at any given time. Over 25 gb is in my photos and another 10 in Music. I think now that I have the 2 externals, I can use those for photos only and clear the internal.
    The dilemna is my internal drive is silent...both externals are noticeable when spun up...so I let them sleep after when not in use.
    I have SilverKeeper from LaCie for backup...so I'll use that for now.
    thanks again.

  • Scratch drive setup - Mac

    CS4 AME with a MBP
    Just wanted some advice on getting the fastest encode times for my PP sequence projects.  I threw out a question out a few days ago here about reconfiguring preferences to enable quicker encodes in AME CS4.  Since nobody had any comments, I have to assume that there is not really anything that can be done to configure the software or preferences.
    Maybe I can set up my scratch drive configuration better?
    Currently I have a MBP with esata and FW800.  I have a fast 7200rpm external hd with plenty of headroom which is formatted OS Extended - non journaled.  It is connected via esata.  The raw video files that PP are using in a sequence are read from this drive and the encode is being written to the same drive.
    Would it be better to have the sequence files on a seperate drive?  What is the best encode scratch drive setup (raid0 is not a consideration in my setup)?
    Thanks in advance

    Here's what I consider a starting point for a good system.
    C: System
    D: Projects
    E: Scratch
    F: Media
    G: Exports
    All local, internal drives.
    You can of course make CS6 work just fine with less, but as you descend from that, you start to introduce bottlenecks and slowdowns.  As you add to it, you add speed and performance.  That config is a good middle ground.
