What's stopping you going [url http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/sql-developer/downloads/index.html]here and downloading the x86_64 version?

You might also want to stay away from installing Toad under "Program files (x86)".
Consider taking a look at Oracle SQL Developer - a very good alternative to the toad.

32 bit server of SQL install proceeds barring warning about 8GB rec, for SQL Server. Then fails on PKI certificate issue. Installation (chose HTTP for MP). I beleive the PKI failure as install starts is
due to the fact that SCCM 2012 needs its database server to b 64 bit ?
Thus i then tried to install SCCM 2012 RC2 when logged in to SCCM Server as AD user account SCCMAdmin,  and
when using the SCCM2012 SQL instance on
64 bit server of SQL install proceeds but fails at checking stage and says:

Why does the install of SCCM 2012 with 32 bit SQL proceed further than the install with 64 bit SQL, with the latter process failing as above error meesages show and yet both servers are set identically (apart from temporary turning off Firewall on the 64
bit server) and during the install the Databse Server specified is accepted ?

    Thanks for the reply.
I can connect via ODBC to the the 32 bit SQL Server and the 64 bit SQL Server from the SCCM Server
The SQL Server Unit called SQL3 unit is a 64 bit SQL.
The SQL Server Unit called SQL is only 32 bit, but at least gets past the final checking stage and the error messages about sysadmin rights and Site System to SQL Server communication problem, and then fails with PKI certificate error message.
When trying to install SCCM specifying the 64 bit SQL Server as the Database Server it gives the 2 error messages at the final checking stage of the installation as listed.
So as I said what is confusing is the fact that if the SCCM install uses the remote 32 bit SQL Server it passes the final checking (although fails with PKI certificate message) but the 64 bit SQL Server set up exactly the same apart from the Firewall being
left off for the time being, fails at the final check stage with the 2 listed errors.
If I use a local 64 bit SQL Server the installation is fine.
Still would like to find out what cause the 2 issues for the remote 64 bit SQL Server, when ODBC seems fine, sysadmin rights have been given for the installer account and the SCCM computer account and SPNs have been set for the user account running the SQL
    Services.

  • SQL Developer for 64 bit

Using Win7 64 bit OS in an environment that doesn't allow me to install anything on my machine.
Trying to use SQL Dev 3.2.2
Downloaded Windows 32-bit - zip file includes the JDK1.6.0_35 but getting the following error: Can't load AMD 64-bit .dll on a IA 32-bit platform+
which understandably it's not for 64 bit systems.
So downloaded the zip for Windows 64-bit. When I run sqldeveloper.exe it asks for "Enter the full pathname for java.exe". For some reason it doesn't like C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin. It gave me the following error when I enter that path: "+*Cannot find a J2SE SDK installed at path C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin*+."
Edit: I copied the JDK folder from 32 bit to 64bit and I'm getting the following error now:
Unable to launch the Java Virtual Machine Located at path: ..\..\jdk\jre\bin\client\jvm.dll*
Is it now the matter of finding the right JVM.DLL like in Oracle FORMS?
Or, Is there a way I can download the jdk from somewhere and put in the 64 bit folder and point my java there, like the 32bit zipped version?
    Any suggestions?

Then you will not be able to use sql developer. It requires specific versions of the JDK. See the Installation Guide

SQL Developer requires that the Java JDK 1.6.0_11 or later (but not 1.7.n) be installed on the system, or that you install a SQL Developer for Windows kit that includes a JDK. If you need to install a JDK, go to http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/.

    Hi BIRam,
Based on the current information, the issue may be caused by the factor that the SQL Server Agent Service Account doesn’t have access to the MySQL server. Try to create a SQL Server Agent Proxy account that has sufficient permission on the MySQL server.
In addition, also pay attention to the package protection level setting.

  • Oracle 11g install for WinXP 64-bit - is 32-bit client needed?

I just saw that the WinXP 64-bit version of 11g is now available.
Does anyone know if it is necessary to install both the 64-bit Database and 32-bit Client on the same machine for a development server. This was the procedure for 10gR2 as the 64-bit ODBC drivers would not work with 32-bit ODBC apps.
    Thanks!

    Yes... you need both.

obfuscated the site key, as it is idiotic to put your company's paid for key on a public forum for everyone else to use.

Contact your organisation for the site key.

  • 64 bit client support for Essbase 7.1.X

    Hi,
I'm trying to work out the Essbase 64 bit story. It looks like Essbase 7.1.4 you could install the server on a 64bit platform. How about the client pieces? For example, if I have a client application that I'm writing consuming the Essbase C API can I have this running on a 64 bit platform? If so which ones? What's the story for Essbase 7.1.5 and 9?
    Thanks
    Reuben

Essbase 7.1.4 was a 64-bit only release that did have a corresponding 64-bit Java API (contained in the Essbase Deployment Services package). I didn't install 7.1.4 so I don't know if there was a 64-bit client API package.

  • 64 Bit Client for Windows 7

We were running fine on a 64-bit Windows 7 laptop using the 5.0.07.029-k9 64-bit client, and a few days ago it stopped working.  It would just hang while starting/connecting.
I tried re-installing, which of course didn't work, but I was able to find a restore point around the 1st week of December that, when rolled back, worked.
It looks like Windows update did some updates at that point, specifically
    KB2761465 - IE
    KB915597 - Windows Defender
    KB2760416 - Office 2007
    KB2726929 - Office 2003

    KB2779562 - Windows 7 64-Bit
    KB890830 - Malicious Software Tool
    KB2754295 - Security Essentials
The PC is using Office 2003, not 2007.
I have downloaded 5.0.07.0440-k9.  It appears that this is the latest 64-bit client.
    Questions:
1.) Which, if any of these updates is the culprit?
2.) Is the 0440 version the solution?  The user wants to do the Windows Update again, but I am reluctant to break it again without a solution.

    Hi,
I know that my answer doesnt really help to solve your question but thought I'd still metion it.
The Cisco IPsec VPN client is something that is nearing its end (or reached it already) regarding any updates or support from Cisco. I would start looking into possiblity to move into Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client (Newer versions are called AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client)
Heres a link to more specific information regarding the old VPN Client and its end of support
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/vpndevc/ps5743/ps5699/ps2308/end_of_life_c51-680819.html
I'm not totally sure (as I have barely tested the client software) but you might be able to test using another non Cisco VPN Client for your VPN Client connections if you are not going to move to AnyConnect
I think it was called Shrew VPN Client
Sadly the www.shrew.net site is down now so I cant even confirm this.
