SQL Query generation

I need to build a query like that:
SELECT IS_ID
          FROM AP_TABLE
          WHERE ap_type_key LIKE ?
          AND (Here is the problem, I have a array in which I have have one or more values that i need to join with the one or more values in table column. What should be the query here? )

Ok, Sorry for creating confusion here.
I have 6 columns in a table that I need to fetch. But with each column, I have say 8 values to match to, a join. I cannot use IN because those 8 values I am comparing with each of 6 column can be (0-8, means 1,2,3 or 0 etc)

    Assuming that siblings (despite its name) contains only parent-child relationships, and that the parent_id could be either the mother or the father:

    To get their spouses and children (if any) you will have to join this result set to all the other tables. At that point, you can eliminate poeple who do not have ancestors themselves, but are married to people who have more than one generation of ancestors.
    The details of how to do that depend on the details of your tables. If you'd like help, then post a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements for all tables) and the results you want from that data.

  • Executing SQL query in portal database

    Hi ,
       I wish to do a simple POC . I need to create a table from NWDS , populate it with some data and then access the table data using an sql query . I am aware how to create a table but I am not sure where exactly to write the query .
    What I would like to understand is
    1) If I create a table where would that table get created (The database) ?
    2) Where would I write that query in NWDS ?
    3) How would I execute that query in that database ?
    Please help for the same .

    I have imported all the driver jar files and sapj2eeclient.jar in the classpath .
    Also the drivers found in the path
    172.16.161.11\usr\sap\EP1\DVEBMGS00\j2ee\cluster\server0\bin\ext\com.sap.portal.jdbcdrivers
    have all been added to the classpath .(Not sure if this is required)

  • Different LOV behavior between SQL query data model and data template

    I have noticed different behavior when using parameters linked to list of values (LOV) of type menu with the multiple selection option enabled and a SQL query data model vs a data template. Here's the example because that first sentence was probably really confusing.

    This is for 10.1.3.4 - because in 11g every SQL query is automatially part of a data model.
    In 10g SQL query is for simple unrelated SQL queries.
    If you need to use advance features such as:
    a) multiple SQL queries that are joined in master-detail relation ships
    b) before/after report triggers
    Then you will need to use the data template, which is an XML description
    of the queries, links, and PL/SQL calls.

    I am a newbie to BI Publisher. We are using Oracle BI Publisher 11.1.1.5.0 for reports generation.
    I am trying to get the actual SQL query executed when a report is generated.
    It would be great if any one can share some tips to enable SQL query logging and how to verify it.

    It seems the NQQuery.log is for OBIEE not for BI Publisher. I could see the admin guide refers to Oracle Fusion Middleware System Administrator's Guide for Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition.
    I raised an SR at myoraclesupport (MOS), I got a response saying enable SQL query log option is not available in BIP.

    Hi there. Just something really quick. I am currently in the process of implementing automatic query generation. Oracle Spatial provides the Spatial Index Advisor as a relatively simple mechanism for viewing spatial data. When you make a spatial query you can view the structure of the query you just made in an SQL syntax. Is the sample code for generating these different queries in SQL made available anywhere on the Oracle site. Thanks Joe

    Tcodes:
    quick query creation:  sqvi
    sq01--user group creation
    sq02--info set
    sq03--query creation
    Then after creating the query now create an generic data source, while creating
    give the option as SAPquery and now your data source is ready

  • SQL query to retrieve totals from "supporting Details"

    We've had a strange issue where the totals from the supporting details aren't adding up to the value submitted in essbase.
    In effect our RDMS is out of sync with Planning.

  • How to modify a SQL query?

    I am using Crystal Reports version 10. I have a number of reports that have been written by a software vendor wherby the name of the database they were connected to when the report was written is coded into the FROM command of the reports SQL query, eg "GCUK_2" in the of the SQL snippet below.

    I have tried setting the Datasource Location, but it doesn't change the query at all. I have read on another forum that you can generate another SQL query using the Database Expert, Current Connections, then right click the Add Command for the database you want to create a SQL command. Is this the only way to update the database names in the query?

    Thanks for that. All the reports were created by the vendor using tables as opposed to the command object. I would have thought that changing the datasource would automatically cause Crystal to rewrite the SQL query syntax, but this doesn't appear to be the case.
    Yes, I've noticed that modifying the record selection will change the sql query. The only way I can see to change the database name in the query is to change to the desired databsource and then remove and re-insert the tables, which will then update the query with the correct name. However, this seems to be a convoluted way of changing the db name in the query.

  • Discoverer Report showing Null VS Show SQL query showing results !!!

    I created a simple Cross Tab Discoverer report from a custom SQL which has a calculation for balances. The output is giving all null values even though there are balances. The output doesn't seem right. So I copied the query from Tools-->Show SQL and ran the query in the TOAD where I'm showing balances for the report. I don't understand why it is not showing in the discoverer. Please help.

  • Error while executing a sql query for select

    ORA-01652: unable to extend temp segment by 128 in tablespace PSTEMP i'm getting this error while i'm executing the sql query for selecting the data.

    I am having 44GB of temp space, while executing the below query my temp space is getting full, Expert please let us know how the issue can be resolved..

  • Issue in creation of group in oim database through sql query.

    hi guys,
    i am trying to create a group in oim database through sql query:
    insert into ugp(ugp_key,ugp_name,ugp_create,ugp_update,ugp_createby,ugp_updateby,)values(786,'dbrole','09-jul-12','09-jul-12',1,1);
    it is inserting the group in ugp table but it is not showing in admin console.
    After that i also tried with this query:
    insert into gpp(ugp_key,gpp_ugp_key,gpp_write,gpp_delete,gpp_create,gpp_createby,gpp_update,gpp_updateby)values(786,1,1,1,'09-jul-12',1,'09-jul-12',1);
    After that i tried with this query.but still no use.
    and i also tried to assign a user to the group through query:
    insert into usg(ugp_key,usr_key,usg_priority,usg_create,usg_update,usg_createby,usg_updateby)values(4,81,1,'09-jul-12','09-jul-12',1,1);
    But still the same problem.it is inserting in db.but not listing in admin console.

  • Using a SQL Query in an Alert and Matching a String

    I've created an alert in 12.0.4 using a SQL Query and the field that I'm trying to match is a string.  Originally the query returned multiple rows but when the alert still didn't fire, I modified the query WHERE clause to return only one row:
    NAME                                RESPONSE
    Are area lights working?            No
    My expression in the metric is RESPONSE.  In the Monitor I'm matching a string equal to No.  (Do I need double quotes around the matchvalue?  Single quotes?  No quotes?)  The metric is in the 15min scan group, the role is xMII Developers and I'm in that role. The monitor alert string is ' =  '.  Both metric and monitor are active and I've subscribed to the monitor.  Other alerts in the 15min scan group (all based on tag queries) are firing off properly.
    Why is nothing showing up in the Alert Log?

    You can use a CASE statement which does support relational operators, or if you must use DECODE, then you can use something like:
    SELECT DECODE(SIGN(2 - 3),-1,sysdate,sysdate - 1)
    FROM dual;The SIGN function returns -1 if the expression is < 0, 1 if the expression is > 0 and 0 if the expression is 0. This works for numeric comparisions. You can use the GREATEST or LEAST functions in a similar fashion for character comparisions.
