Sql query is hung, doesn't comes back

Hello Every one,
Two node Rac on Linux 5 64-bit, 11.2.0.1.0
In our data ware housing environment, i have a sql query which doesn't comes back at all, when i run, it is just hung for a long time with no output. I did following basic testing
1. All the indexes are valid and stats are up to date(count(*) matches num rows)
2. There is a union clause in the query, i divided the query in two parts - the first part prior to union and second part after union, then i ran those two parts separately - the first part comes back quickly with no rows selected but the second part has a main problem(its just hung).
Please note that one table in the query has a partitioned table. following is the query and the tables involved in it.
Please let me know if you need any further information, it will be of great help if i get through this. Thanks in advance.

  • Screen doesn't come back after sleeping

    Occassionally I find that after closing my MPB to put it to sleep the screen doesn't come back up after re-opening the laptop. The pulsing white light which tells you the machine is sleeping goes off, so it seems as if the machine has woken up.... but there's nothing on the screen. I'm forced to use the power button to shut the machine down and start up again.
    Something to worry about?
    (p.s. I just tested it again and noticed that when I close the lid the white light isn't pulsing, but rather stays lit)

    I just recently (within the last two days) started having this problem myself. I've only owned the Macbook for a few months (purchased it from Apple online store right before the new ones came out). I am thinking it might be due to a recent update or something.
    When I close the lid, laptop sleeps but when you open it you can hear the CD tray spin up like it's trying to wake but doesn't. I've tried adjusting screen brightness via f-keys, changing the volume, etc. but seems like system is just locked up. I've been having to hold down the power button and force a reboot.

  • Screen doesn't come back after lid closing and open

    Hi all,
    I just replaced LCD screen from my old cracked one on my T61 7658-CTO.
    There was no backlight, no indicator lights except WAN.
    I tried another inverter, but same symptoms.
    So, I tried another video cable, but same symptoms.
    Then, I put the cracked one back in, but still same symptoms.
    I can't figure out what's gone wrong.
    I tried several other things and found out that
    if I connect the video cable to the inverter in a half way from the left, then the screen works!
    However, if I close the lid and open again, the screen doesn't come back.
    And while screen works, if I power the laptop off and turn on again, the screen works fine.
    So, I'm thinking there's something wrong with lid switch.
    Correct me if I'm wrong.
    I've seen a few people having same problem on this forum,
    but nobody has an answer to this yet.
    Please help me!

    Nobody?
    Could it be a damaged mobo or lid sensor? Or even some kind of fuse on mobo that people talk about?
    It's really weird that lcd works perfectly with the inverter board only halfway connected to the vga cable.
    If I push it fully for full connection, the screen goes dark; no backlight.
    If I pull it out halfway from the right, then the screen come back and works very fine until I close the lid and open again.
    Indicator LEDs never work except the WIFI one.

  • How do I get it so that when I delete a song from my phone it doesn't come back when I sync with iTunes?

    Hi,
    I was wondering if there was a way to deselect a song from my iTunes account automatically when I delete the song from my phone so that I don't have to go through my iTunes account and deselect everything I had deleted before I sync? I'm really big on putting everything I have from several different artists onto my phone and just deleting the songs I don't like as I hear them (very rairly do I actually remember what the song was called let along who the artist was) and often don't have the time/inclnation to go through each song on both my phone and iTunes account to find which ones sould not be checked (seriously who has the time to do this, and even if you do wouldn't you rather spend it doing something else).
    Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!
    Thank you from the girl who just inadvertently synced back over 2,000 songs to her phone.

    BC
    My understanding is that music syncing is a one way process from computer iTunes to your iPhone.  I think what you are asking is to have IOS synching back to an OSX or PC system.  The software doesn't work that way.
    You either have to uncheck the songs to be synced or create a separate playlist for "BC Canada iPhone" and only sync that playlist.
    As well any purchases you made on your iPhone need to be transferred to your iTunes so they can come back to your phone when you re-sync.
    Hope this helps, even though it's not the answer you might have wanted.
    Cheers

  • I send a cookie to the server, but it doesn't come back.

    Hey all:
    I'm attemping send a cookie via an application to the servlet, and then pull that cookie back out from the servlet's response. I want to do this whole process repeatedly while retaining the same cookie.
    Pulling the cookie out on the first request to the servlet works fine because I do not send a cookie to the servlet, and the servlet instantiates a new session. Next, the cookie is sent back to the servlet successfully because it is printed out on the server-side exactly as it appeared on the client side. However, after the servlet responds to that second request and on subsequent requests, I can not pull the cookie out again. On the method call, connection.getHeaderField("Set-Cookie"), the result is null. I've even inspected the connection object, and it seems empty of any cookies whatsoever. Why doesn't the cookie come back on requests after the initial request? Is there anything I can do to make it come back?
    Thanks a ton in advance. Have great day!!!

    you must check that cookie's path set by Tomcat is the one expected by your browser. Otherwise the former won't send it back to the server. I had the same problem because Tomcat sets the cookie path to "/webAppName" and the browser expected it to be "/".

  • My screen dims during phone calls but doesn't come back on after

    It seems for the past several weeks my phone seems to dim when I put it up to my ear to take a call but then the screen does not come back on when I take the phone away from my face like it is supposed to.  The screen seems to dim if anything comes within 3 or 4 inches of the sensor but the screen never comes back on and I have to hit a button.
    sorry if this is re-hashing and I am sure there are others with this issue but frankly I can't seem to get this forum to search and come up with anything so I decided to start a new topic.

    Did you try pressing the power button briefly?

  • OpenAuth2 access code doesn't come back from IE

    Hi all,
    I'm trying to get an OpenAuth2 access token in order to ultimately extract data from Google Analytics.
    I can create a code url and pass that to the chrome browser and the request is serviced displaying the access code in the URL bar. I cannot however seem to grab this code using powershell as there is no ComObject for Chrome (as far as i can tell).
    I've tried this using IE (which i can grab the URL using the ComObject) however the request doesn't seem to be serviced in IE and instead i get "This page can't be displayed" (the access code is not displayed in the URL string as it is with Chrome)
    Is there some setting i am missing in IE?

    Hi Anna,
    Thanks for the reply, appreciate it.
    I've managed to get around the issue by turning IIS on and changing the Redirect URL to localhost:80 instead on localhost:8080. Once IE has a page to display for the response the access token flows through fine.
    Not sure why IE would require this step to work but for know this is working.

  • IPhone 5 hangs after being on silent mode and doesn't come back normal until I switch it off and switch it back on.

    My phone's just a month old and I've encountered this issue for three times in row. I put my phone on silent at night. Following morning, when I get calls while the phone is on silent mode:
    1. I put it back on normal mode but phone remains silent.
    2. I swipe across the screen to receive the call, I'm able to swipe but call doesn't start.
    3. Touchscreen becomes slow in response.
    The only thing works is switching off the phone and switshing it back on to get it back to normal. This has happened three times in row and it's surprising becuse the phone's new and has not been damaged at all. Experiencing this after using for just about a month is a nightmare. What's wrong with my phone?

    I have an iphone 3 and the same problem. Some of the 2008 posts on a similar title suggest a restore. I need to save all of my 700+ photos somewhere before I attempt that process.

  • My Macbook Pro (15-in early 2008) in need of display replacement doesn't come back from repair for 1 month now...

    I left my Macbook Pro (15-inch early 2008 vers) w/ OSX 10.5.8 had a serious display problem - it was very touch sensitive and won't show full view immediately without touching more than several times on the right side of the screen. Sometimes it gives ridiculous amount of lines or repetitions, however, the harddrive was working just fine. (Upon getting the view back, all applications were working just fine.)
    So I dropped it off at Apple 5th Ave (24hrs) store on March 19th. The MBP was received by an Apple repair hub (so not in-store repair) on the 23rd. Ever since it has been 'on-hold' status mentioning 'part on order'. So, today is April 19th. Exactly 1 month since I dropped it off.
    I called Apple 5th Ave, which gave me a number to Apple repair dept. Upon having talked with a rep there, the particular part (because they were initially suspecting its logic board too) they have been waiting for is the very display. As it has been manufactured in Japan, it seems to be really back-ordered, obviously due to the current crisis in the northern Japan.
    I heard that iPad2's displays have been seriously back-ordered too... but now I started worrying about my old MBP's display may be the lowest priority before such hot product like 'iPad2'??!! Being Japanese myself, I totally understand the situation... but if it'd take extremely long time even from now, it definitely causes me more than temporary problems as it is the only laptop that I use for everything I do. (Luckily, a friend of mine has been loaning her laptop until she will need it when she goes on trip. But it's been already a month instead of 5-7 business days turn-around that the genius bar rep initially told me. I have been using her laptop with my external disk but of course, it's been quite inconvenient.)
    I'm wondering if Apple can help this situation by replacing the whole machine w/ a refurbished one from the same model??? or temporarily loaning me one?!? I'm just becoming desperate & worried now. Is there anyone who has a similar situation?!?

    Call Apple and asked to be transferred to "Customer Relations." Explain everything to them and the will take care of you. Make sure you have all your documents and case numbers when you call.

  • The last two times I have updated my iphone 4 it has stopped during the process and has to be completely restored.  This wipes out the memory that was used previously and it doesn't come back.  Now with update to ver 6 it did the same thing.  Why?

    Ver 6 wipes out the iphone 4 and it won't restore.
    What is wrong with apple?
    It did the same thing with ver 5

    Hi there,
    According to the article below, the error may be related to a hardware issue. Take a look below for troubleshooting steps.
    Resolve iOS update and restore errors
    Check for hardware issues
    Related errors: 1, 3, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 20, 21, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, 34, 35, 36, 37, 40, 1000, 1002, 1004, 1011, 1012, 1014, 1667, or 1669.
    These errors mean that your device or computer may have a hardware issue that's preventing the update or restore from completing.
    Check that your security software and settings aren't preventing your device from communicating with the Apple update server.
    Then try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good.
    Confirm that your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers.
    If you still see the error message when you update or restore, contact Apple support.

  • # of tab canvases dependant on the # of groups that come back from a query

    Hi,
         I'm trying to create a dynamic creation of blocks, and tab canvases dependant on the number of groups that come back from a query. If 4 groups come back then I desire 4 tabs with the appropriate data in each tab.

    Basically Forms is not intended to build screens programmatically but it is possible to kluj it. Here's what you could do.
    Create a form with (say) four tabbed canvases, enough to fill the display. Each canvas has its own block. Then you have video style buttons - Fwd, Bk, FFwd FBk - and just scroll the blocks across when the user clicks the button.
    Did you enjoy the use of the word "just"? Sounds easy, doesn't it? In practice, what you need is an array that ties the filter criteria to the canvas number. Then you shuffle the canvases by applying the appropriate WHERE clause using SET_BLOCK_PROPERTY and then executing a query.
    The problems with this are obvious and the same as any dynamically generated UI. It will perform badly (each navigation to a canvas will trigger a fresh query, plus there's the overhead of managing the stack). Also it is fragile: there's lots that can go wrong.
    So you need to ask yourself what it is you are hoping to achieve. Can you deliver the same business function some other way? As another poster has pointed out, this is just a glorified master-detail form - the filter criterion being the master. Building this as a classic two block master-detail Form is more straightforward and more robust.

  • Console does not comes back to life after screen blanking

    edited post on 2014-07-13:
    This problem has nothing to do with suspend-to-RAM and/or suspend-to-disk (hibernate).
    It is a screen blanking on the console triggered by a timeout in the kernel.
    It can be modified (or disabled) with the setterm command for the current session.
    The issue is still unresolved since the console doesn't comes back to life after hitting a key.
    See post#6 on 2014-07-13 for further details.
    Changed title accordingly.
    original post on 2014-07-09 titled "blank screen on resume after suspend but screen OK after hibernation" follows:
    Dell Inspiron 9400 (aka E1705) with Radeon X1400 (RV515) (confirmed by dmesg: loading R500 microcode)
    - arch x86_64 fully updated up to 07-JULY-2014
    - xf86-video-ati open source driver installed
    - no (additional; ie: explicitly) installed power management packages such as pm-utils
    - no X installed
    The problem:
    • hibernation works fine; ie: by closing (and waiting a few seconds) and re-opening the lid
    • however resume after suspend isn't working; ie: by pressing any key to resume ... it seems the screen never comes back to life
    After suspend activates (and after I hit a key to activate resume) I see no activity at all (blank screen) but ... if I type some commands (eg: timedatectl etc) and then I close the lid to activate the hibernation sequence re-opening the lid (say, a minute later) the machine comes back from hibernation as expected and I can see the commands (and output) I typed when the screen was blank so ... it seems to me either:
    • the backlight state is not restored on the resume sequence (first thought)
    • the machine shuts down the screen after (a 10 minute) timeout but never activates the suspend sequence (and will never activate resume then) (second thought while reading dmesg output)
    This problem was present on this laptop since my first (and subsequent) arch installations so it seems is not kernel/driver specific since I did many pacman --sysupgrades in between while learning arch.
    The testing sequence (with related entries on included dmesg output):
    - typed timedatectl ... showing 23.29.04
    - now allowing idle time for the machine to suspend
    - suspend starts at 23.39 (ie: after 10 minutes) ... tag it as event1#1
    - after 30 seconds resuming with the space key and after a few seconds typing (blindly) timedatectl ... tag it as event1#2
    - after 60 seconds closing the lid allowing time for hibernation ... tag it as event2#1
    - after 30 seconds opening the lid ... tag it as event2#2
    - now I can see the output for timedatectl (typed blindly on event1#2) and it shows 23.40.11
    As you can see in attached dmesg output (at the bottom of this post) there are (to me) no evident entries for event1#2 (resuming after suspend):
    ... event#1-1 ... suspend starts here:
    [Mon Jul 7 23:40:12 2014] perf interrupt took too long (2504 > 2495), lowering kernel.perf_event_max_sample_rate to 50100
    ... event#1-2 ... resume from suspend should show some entries here:
    no entries at all
    And the next entry after entering the suspend sequence is the starting of the hibernation sequence (when closing the lid):
    ... event#2-1 ... hibernation starts here:
    [Mon Jul 7 23:41:30 2014] PM: Syncing filesystems ... done.
    [Mon Jul 7 23:41:30 2014] smpboot: CPU 1 is now offline
    ... event#2-2 ... coming back from hibernation (I think) starts here:
    [Mon Jul 7 23:41:30 2014] ACPI: Low-level resume complete
    [Mon Jul 7 23:41:31 2014] Restarting tasks ... done.
    [Mon Jul 7 23:41:31 2014] video LNXVIDEO:00: Restoring backlight state
    So the machine shuts off the screen (and/or backlight) but never enters suspend mode because "restoring backlight state" appears once and should appear twice in my testing.
    Why isn't working then ?
    Because the signal to enter suspend mode is never sent/received by the OS ?
    Which brings me to a key question: is the acpi package (which it is not installed) (or something like that) required for such signaling ?
    In the following post a user claims a similar problem but he can see some activity (after resuming from suspend) by directing a bright light to the screen so the problem there seems to be the backlight not powered up again: it is not my case, when I did the same I saw no activity at all.

    I think that it is something wrong with kernel and graphic drivers but i'm not able to solve it from the beginning of using of Arch by me.
    I'm not so sure this issue is software-related only because in my case it seems the laptop screen enters power-saving mode (10-min timeout) on its own without any events logged (as shown by dmesg) so my next thought was OK, I'm going to get rid of this issue disabling the screen power-saving timeout in the BIOS and set it to never power down or something like that and from then on managing power mode manually; ie: when I want to power down I will just use systemctl suspend/hibernate which work fine ... problem is: there are no related options in my BIOS for such timeout.
    The only timeouts I have are in /etc/systemd/logind.conf set to 30min (#IdleActionSec) (commented) by default so these are not in effect because the screens goes blank after 10m which is less than the (default) 30m in logind. Maybe setting loggind to 9m (un-commented) to catch the event before the machine-default one ?
    IdleActionSec=9min
    IdleAction=suspend
    Will check it and report back.

  • XSU  and CURSOR expression in the sql query

    Platform: oracle 8.X on ibm aix and java client code from
    windows NT.
    JDBC DRIVER: JDBC Oracle thin driver version 1.2.
    when i execute a Sql satement with Cursor expression from the
    java client code with XSU it returns an XML DOM But if the
    CURSOR EXPRESSION IN THE SQL QUERY RETURNS EMPTY ROWS i get
    back an error node with "ORA-01001 Invalid Cursor" error
    message.i had aslo set the setNullAttributes(true) property
    on oraclexmlquery.
    Interestingly, if i exceute the same query in the SQL plus
    it returns the column names with no rows.
    is there any way where i can get xml document with table
    structure, when there are no rows instead of ORA error message.

    Ok.
    I assume that you have for one activity several asset PNR and for one asset several activity.
    The factPNR is on this way a real bridge table. It's a way to be able to design a many-to-many relationship.
    Have a look here for more detail on how to build a many-to-many relationship :
    http://gerardnico.com/wiki/dw/data_quality/relationships#many-to-many
    Therefore I assume that you want this design :
    DimActivity -< FactActivity >- < FactPNR >- DimPNR  and you will have :
    DimActivity -< FactActivity >- < BridgeTable >- DimPNR  How to build your bridge table ?
    In the physical layer, :
    * create a new table BridgeActivityPNR, open it and select "statement"
    * enter your sql statement
    SELECT DISTINCT A.ROW_WID ACTIVIDAD_WID, B.ROW_WID ASSET_WID
    FROM W_ACTIVITY_F A,
    W_ASSET_D B,
    W_SRVREQ_D C,
    X_S_CMPT_MTRC_F D,
    X_S_ASSET_FEA_D E
    WHERE A.X_SRA_SR_ID=C.INTEGRATION_ID AND
    C.X_VLG_FLIGHT_ID=D.X_ROW_ID AND
    D.X_ROW_ID=E.X_CM_ID AND
    E.X_ASSET_ID=B.X_ROW_ID* add two columns in the column tab : ACTIVIDAD_WID and ASSET_WID
    * create the physical join with the table FactActivity and DimPNR
    * drag and drop in the business model your table BridgeActivityPNR
    * in the BMM, create the complex join like this :
    DimActivity -< FactActivity >- < BridgeTable >- DimPNR  * open your logical bridge table and check the bridge table option.
    And you are done if I didn't forget anything.
    A complete example here :
    http://gerardnico.com/wiki/dat/obiee/obiee_bridge_table

  • Problem with SQL query pulling info out of a collection

    Here's my issue, I use a PL/SQL query to pull info from an XML file and put it in a collection. I then query the collection with a SQL statement to pull the info from the collection and put it into a table. I can see that the collection is being created properly, but then my SQL query is failing to pull the info out of the collection. Here's my PL/SQL query:
    declare
    l_clob clob;
    l_buffer varchar2(32767);
    l_url varchar2(4000);
    l_http_req utl_http.req;
    l_http_resp utl_http.resp;
    begin
    utl_http.set_proxy(apex_application.g_proxy_server, NULL);
    l_url := 'http://www.jobster.com/partnerfeeds/Servinity/Servinity.xml';
    l_http_req := utl_http.begin_request(l_url);
    l_http_resp := utl_http.get_response(l_http_req);
    dbms_lob.createtemporary( l_clob, FALSE );
    dbms_lob.open( l_clob, dbms_lob.lob_readwrite );
    begin
    loop
    utl_http.read_text(l_http_resp, l_buffer);
    dbms_lob.writeappend( l_clob, length(l_buffer), l_buffer );
    end loop;
    exception
    when others then
    if sqlcode <> -29266 then
    raise;
    end if;
    end;
    utl_http.end_response(l_http_resp);
    apex_collection.create_or_truncate_collection('JOB_RESPONSE');
    apex_collection.add_member(
    p_collection_name => 'JOB_RESPONSE',
    p_clob001 => l_clob );
    end;
    This part works fine because I can check the collection and see the info was put there properly. Here's the XML file (part of it at least):
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    <job-list xmlns="http://jobster.com/feed/1.3">
    <site>
    <name>Jobster</name>
    <url>http://www.jobster.com</url>
    </site>
    <job>
    <id>58117925</id>
    <key>51253677</key>
    <featurelevel>1</featurelevel>
    <title>
    And here's the SQL query which isn't pulling anything back:
    select extractValue(value(t),'/*/name') "Name",
    extractValue(value(t),'/*/url') "URL"
    from apex_collections c,
    table(xmlsequence(extract(xmltype.createxml(c.clob001),'/job-list/site'))) t
    where c.collection_name = 'JOB_RESPONSE'
    What am I missing? Thanks in advance!

  • SQL query with JSP and WML-parameters

    Hey,
    Could you help me?
    I'm trying to do the following. WML deck card 1 send parameter to same WML deck's card help. I try to read the parameter with JSP in card help by putting the parameter to SQL query, but it doesn't work. I can read the parameter with WML in card help. I can also print the value of the parameter with JSP if I generate WML with JSP.
    /*parameter sending from card 1 to card help*/
    out.println("<go href='#helpcard'>");
    out.println("<setvar name='valittukurssi' value='$(valittukurssi)'/>");
    /*parameter read with WML in card help */
    <p>Valitse kurssi.
    $valittukurssi</p>
    /'parameter read with JSP by generating WML with JSP*/
    out.println("<p>$valittukurssi</p>");
    /* SQL query with JSP */
    ResultSet uudettulokset = uusilause.executeQuery("select * from kurssi where lyhenne='$valittukurssi'");
    Thanks,
    Rampe

    You're problem is easy to fix. You're confusing WML variables with JSP variables. See below:
    >
    /*parameter sending from card 1 to card help*/
    out.println("<go href='#helpcard'>");
    out.println("<setvar name='valittukurssi'
    value='$(valittukurssi)'/>");
    Above you set a var that will work on the phone, not in JSP.
    /*parameter read with WML in card help */
    <p>Valitse kurssi.
    $valittukurssi</p>
    Yes the above does display the parameter, because it is a client side WML var, but you cannot use this variable in the JSP code (that's why your SWL fails).
    /'parameter read with JSP by generating WML with
    JSP*/
    out.println("<p>$valittukurssi</p>");Here's you're problem, the above line is EXACTLY the same as the one before it. When the container parses through this JSP code it translates the above line to:
    <p>$valittukurssi</p> on the WML page and the CLIENT uses it's local variable to display it.
    What you need and want is to have a variable that can be used in JSP code and output to your WML page. Here's how it's done:
    out.println("<go href='#helpcard'>");
    String some_name = "valittukurssi";
    out.println("<setvar name='"+some_name+"'
    value='$("+some_name+")'/>");
    //note that you may have to escape the ( and ) with a \
    //so we displayed the variable above into the WML page, now we can use it in the SQL query:
    /* SQL query with JSP */
    ResultSet uudettulokset =
    uusilause.executeQuery("select * from kurssi where
    lyhenne='"+some_name+"'");//the end of the command is: " ' " ) ;
