SQL Query to find Discoverer version installed
Hi ,
As a developer, Is there a back-end DB sql query (or script) that can be run on DB to find the version of Oracle Discoverer installed?
Will the query be different if Discoverer is used with Oracle Applications (R12.1.3) as compared to a Discoverer running on a plain stand alone Oracle Database (no Oracle apps)?
thanks,
gg.
Hello gg
The VER_NAME and VER_DESCRIPTION are typically never filled in and can be ignnored.
The VER_RELEASE is the EUL version as you rightly summised. This version is 100% compatible with Discoverer 11g and if you already have it you can upgrade from 10g to 11g without changing anything in the EUL
VER_MIN_CODE_VER is the minimum version of Oracle Discoverer that can be used with this EUL. In this case 10.1.2.45.20 is 10g Release 2
VER_EUL_TIMESTAMP is the date and time this version of the EUL was released by Oracle - again you can ignore it
The important fields therefore are the VER_RELEASE and VER_MIN_CODE_VER
Hope this helps
Best wishes
Michael

Can anybody provide the SQL query to find the files uploaded in a particular folder?
Hi All,
Can anybody provide the SQL query to find the documents (document name) uploaded in a particular folder? While clicking on folder in
GUI I'm hitting the Timeout error. I would like to find the files uploaded into this folder from SQLPLUS.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
With best regards,
NevinNevin,
Be great if we could know the version of Portal. For Rel. 1, here's the query
select id,masterthingid from wwv_things
where siteid = &site
and cornerid = &corner
&site - Content Area id
&corner - Folder id
if you don't know the folder id, use
select id from wwv_corners where siteid = &site
and name = &folder
Hope this helps. I have run into this situation before. Usually, the culprits were
one of the following:
1. Junk Characters in description of item (caused due to Copy-Paste)
2. Special Characters in the File name

SQL query to find sqlnet.ora parameters
Hi All,
I am working 11g RAC /solaris 9
I want have sql query to find values of sqlnet.ora parameters
May be values of SQLNET.INBOUND_CONNECT_TIMEOUT
SQLNET.SEND_TIMEOUT, SQLNET.RECV_TIMEOUT
Thanks
rajThe sqlnet.ora file is the profile configuration file. It resides on the client machines and the database server.
Profiles are stored and implemented using this file. The database server can be configured with access control parameters in the sqlnet.ora file.
These parameters specify whether clients are allowed or denied access based on the protocol.
The sqlnet.ora file enables you to do the following:
Specify the client domain to append to unqualified names
Prioritize naming methods
Enable logging and tracing features
Route connections through specific processes
Configure parameters for external naming
Configure Oracle Advanced Security
Use protocol-specific parameters to restrict access to the database
By default, the sqlnet.ora file is located in the ORACLE_HOME/network/admin directory. The sqlnet.ora file can also be stored in the directory specified by the TNS_ADMIN environment variable.
You can not query on this file sqlnet.ora as tnsnames.ora file.

Need sql query to find out Joins attached with folders in Discoverer
Hi,
Can anyone let me know the sql query which can be used to identify the joins which are attached to the folders.
Actually we have to identify all the joins conditions from folders those are migrated from one instance to others.
Thanks
abhishekI recommend that you implement the admin EUL supplied by oracle, you can get there a lot of repository information (metalink note: 556932.1).
Try to use this (maybe you will need some pkg's):

1,
'Always exist in master folder',
'Might not exist in master folder') "Detail Item values",
EUL10G_US.EUL5_GET_JOIN(EXP.EXP_ID, 'N') "Join Master --> Detail",

KEYS.KEY_DEVELOPER_KEY JOIN_IDENTIFIER,

SCOM SQL Query to find Mail Latency (Send/ Receive) Data.
Hi,
I unable to find Mail Latency (Send/ Receive) Data in SCOM 2012 SQL Query.
need your help to find SQL query that fetches below details
1. Average Time for Accessing Mailbox.
2. Average Time to Send and Receive Mail.
Regards,
Vinoth Kumar.Hi Vinoth
There are no specific tables storing the mailbox related data.
To find information about Exchange in SCOM you need the Exchange management pack for the version of Exchange you are running, as well as monitoring the Exchange servers.
When that has been done you can find reports and performance views for Exchange.
I am unsure if you can find this specific information for Exchange in SCOM, i would look into the management pack. If you cannot find the information, i suggest you consult your Exchange administrator to get this information.

Nakul VenkatramanI am using ORACLE 11gR2 If you're licensed for Diangnostics pack then you might want to look at the AWR tables, e.g. DBA_HIST_SQLSTAT and cross-reference with DBA_HIST_SNAPSHOT.
By this will i get the top 5 consumed queries of DEV user in the whole session or its just the top 5 queries at that particular time. The "executions" columns in this query, does it mean that the no. of. times the query has executed... This will get you a random 5 queries that were first parsed by DEV. Depending on your application code/structure, it may well be that all code (except for system-recursive sql) executed by DEV is parsed by DEV, and all code parsed by DEV is executed by DEV but this isn't true for all.
In terms of top N queries, you need to ORDER BY and then restrict by ROWNUM at an outer level to the ROWNUM otherwise the ROWNUM filter is applied before the ORDER BY.
i.e.
SELECT *
FROM
(SELECT ...
FROM ...
WHERE
ORDER BY...)
WHERE ROWNUM <= ....
The "executions" columns in this query, does it mean that the no. of. times the query has executedYes.

Dynamic SQL Query to Find Special Characters in Table columns
Hi,
I am new to OTN FORUMS.
I am trying to find the columnsi of a table which have special characters in them.
I am planning on using this query
select ' select INSTR('||column_name||', chr(0))
from '||table_name||'where INSTR('||column_name||', chr(0)) >0' from user_tab_columns
where table_name='Account'
and spool the output to run as a script.
Is this the right way or do u suggest any modifications to the query?
Thanks in advance.Hi,
I think your basic approach is right. Since you can't hard-code the table- or column names into the query, you'll need dynamic SQL.
Instead SQL-from-SQL (that is, writing a pure SQL query, whose output is SQL code), you could do the whole job in PL/SQL, but I don't see any huge advantage either way.
When you say "Special character<b>s</b>", do you really mean "one given special character" (in this case, CHR(0))?
Will you ever want to search for multiple special characters at once?
What if table foo has a column bar, and in 1000 rows of foo, bar contains CHR (0). Do you want 1000 rows of output, each showing the exact position of the first CHR(0)? If the purpose is to look at theese rows later, shouldn't you include the primary key in the output? What if CHR(0) occurs 2 or more times in the same string?
If you'd rather have one row of output, that simply says that the column foo.bar sometimes contains a CHR(0), then you could do something like this:
SELECT 'foo', 'bar'
FROM dual
WHERE EXISTS (
SELECT NULL
FROM foo
WHERE INSTR ( bar
, CHR (0)
) > 0
);
