Hello,
Try to use port 465, port 2587 or port 587 instead of using port 25, as explained on the following articles.
http://docs.aws.amazon.com/ses/latest/DeveloperGuide/smtp-issues.html
http://docs.aws.amazon.com/ses/latest/DeveloperGuide/smtp-connect.html
The first of above URLs is intended for troubleshooting SMTP issues in general.
Verify you the mail account has not reached any limit. Limit of emails per day, per second, etc.
Hope this helps.

  • Can Reporting Services 2005 report on SQL Server 2012 database?

We would like to upgrade our SQL Server from Standard 2005 to Enterprise/Standard 2012. Unfortunately, we also have a lot of reports based on Reporting Services 2005. If possible we would like avoid upgrading them at this time.
Is it possible to run Reporting Services 2005 of SQL Server 2012? If yes then is there pre-requiste  like drivers  or dll or any other to connect SSRS 2005 to SQL server 2012?
If we run Reporting Services 2005 of SQL Server 2012  then do we will face performance lag issue due to version difference of SSRS 2005 and SQL server 2012?

    Moderators,
    Can anyone merge this -

  • Missing access for databases on MS SQL server 2012 database engine

Hi, i have trouble with my MS SQL server 2012 database engine.
I can't access to all databases on server by error:
"Cannot resolve the collation conflict between "SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS" and "Cyrillic_General_CI_AS" in the equal to operation"
If i will change collation to Cyrillic_General_CI_AS, then all db would delete from server.

AFAIK, this error message thrown on the query level and can be easily resolved..

  • SQL Server 2012 Express Instance is Not Discovered

I have a single SQL Server 2012 Express instance that is the backend database for a small door security application.  I just noticed after having deployed the OpsMgr agent months ago that it never discovered the SQL instance.  The SQL instance
is, as stated, Express, and it's the only Express instance I have.  Is that why it is not discovered?  All the documentation I found seems to indicate the opposite -- that Express is discovered and there are steps you can take to exclude Express
instances.  I have no overrides set to exclude any instance or any database.
    - System Center Operations Manager 2012 RTM (no SP1, no R2)
    - SQL Server 2012 MP version 6.3.173.1
    - SQL Server is Windows Server 2012
    - SQL Server 2012 Express running on a Hyper-V VM.  Instance is named DOORSERVER\Eclipse
    - Agent is installed and other discoveries seem to be working fine
    - No discovery errors in the event log related to SQL, although there is one about the Windows Server 2008 discovery not being able to start, but I'm on Windows Server 2012, so I am guessing that's okay?
    - No overrides are set on the discovery
    - Discovery has found every other SQL Server 2012 instance (standard and enterprise editions)

Well, just realized I didn't have the latest MP.  Upgrading to 6.4.1.0 version of the SQL MP fixed the discovery issue.

  • Maintenance plan for SQL Server 2012 Database in AlwaysOn Availability Group

    Hi all,
I need assistance creating a maintenance plan that will backup a databases logs in order to prevent them from filling up the drive they are located on. I have looked at some blogs but they do not specifically show how this is done.
My database is in an AlwaysOn Availability Group.
Thank you very much for your help!

Regular maintenance plan would work. Only thing to remember is that when you create log backup plan, there is a checkbox which says whether it should honor backup preference or not.

  • Get error when connecting SQL 2012 Management studio to SQL Server 2012 database

I got this error message when I tried to connect to SQL Server 2012 using Management studio 2012.
    Service 'Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.IRegistrationService' not found (Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.SDK.SqlStudio)

    Did this get this resolved?
My SSMS 2012 was running without issue for several months until I installed VS2012. After the VS2012 I started getting "Service 'Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.IRegistrationService' not found" when connecting to database in SSMS 2012. I uninstalled VS2012
and SSMS 2012 started working again. Installed VS2012 and SSMS 2012 is broken again.
I tried the above suggestions without success. Here are the error details. Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • SQL Server 2012 DB Engine does not start (clean install with server 2012 and 2008 R2)

I'm trying to do clean installation of SQL server 2012 on Server 2012 (which is runnning as a VM on ESX server) and getting this "wait on the DB engine recovery failed" message. Initially, I though this issue was related to some permission issues
but changing the permission or service accounts didn't help. I'm not seeing any "denied" messages in the log files either. Even with Server 2008 R2 (clean built VM), the installation gives the exactly the same error messages.
My setup is purely for test purpose; so, the security is not a concern. Can someone help or give me a clue where to look?

    Hi Nababoya:
As you are telling this is a test installation process...
In the logs i m seeing the error message "An error occurred while processing the log for database 'model'.  If possible, restore from backup. If a backup is not available, it might be necessary to rebuild the log.".
    1) If the SQL Services was installed successfully and SQL Service was not able to start because of model database issue...
1.1) If you have model database SQL back file, start the SQL Server in single user mode with minimum configuration and try to restore MODEL database
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/sqlserverfaq/archive/2011/05/11/inf-hey-my-sql-server-service-is-not-starting-what-do-i-do.aspx
1.2) If you don't have backups., try to rebuild the system databases but make sure that you are not losing any data critical data on master and SQL Jobs on MSDB
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd207003%28v=sql.110%29.aspx#RebuildProcedure
    2) As if this is a new installation try to repair the instance with the help of setup media file
    3) If the repair option fails., the last option wipe out the complete SQL Server components from Services.msc and Registries and start new installation.
    4) Make sure when you are doing un-installation all the required SQL Server components on services.msc should be in stop state.
Hope this helps and let me know any questions...

  • SQL Server 2012 Express SP1 will not install on Windows Server 2012 Essentials R2

I have been attempting to install SQL Server 2012 with SP1 Express Edition for about a two weeks and have been unsuccessful.  My organization recently purchased a new Dell PowerEdge T320 Server (64 Bit) with Intel Xeon Proc.-E5-2420; 2.2Ghz, 32 Gb RAM,
1 Tb RAID 5 H/D, and Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials (preinstalled).  The server will be configured as an on premises server.  We are running a small church management application that requires SQL Server 2012 SP1 Express.  Per the direction
of our application vendor, we downloaded the SQL Server 2012 SP1 Express file (SQLEXPRADV_x64_ENU.exe) from the Microsoft SQL Server Website.  We ran the file "As Administrator" and the SQL Server 2012 Setup program began.
We selected New SQL Server Stand-Alone Installation, successfully installed the needed Product Updates, and accepted the MS SQL Server 2013 Express License terms.
When the Feature Selection Page appeared we checked only the "Data Base Eng Services".  The
Instance Configuration Page was displayed and we inserted a "Named Instance= Shelby",then pressed next.  On the
Server Configuration Page the only change was setting the "sql server browser = automatic".  The Database Engine Configuration Page appeared
and we inserted the following settings:1] Server Configuration Tab; a) mixed mode, b)inserted SQL Server Admin pswd, c) added current user as administrator: 2] Data Directories Tab; default/no changes: 3] User Instanced Tab; default/no
changes: and 4] Filestream Tab; default/no changes.  Next the
Reporting Services Configuration Page came up and the reporting services native mode was set to
"install and configure".  The Error Reporting Page appeared and was left as the
"default".  The SQL Server 2012 Setup program proceeded to Installation Progress Page and started to install. Just before the install program ended it displayed a message saying that there
were errors and the Database Eng Services did not succeed. I uninstalled SQL Server 2012 SP1 Express three (3) times, ran Windows Update after every uninstall, attempted to install the Database Engine and got the same results.  Are there any patches or
special procedures for correctly installing SQL Server 2012 SP1 Express on my hardware configuration or Windows Server 2012 Essentials R2?  Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Can you post the setup Summary and detail logs, which will help to figure out the problem? The details about the location can be found at https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143702(v=sql.110).aspx

  • Copy diagram to clipboard for sql server 2012 the row did not appear when paste in paint

    hello,
i've been trying to create database diagram on my database on sql server 2012 platform. i can create the diagram, but when copy it to clipboard and try to paste it on paint, only the tables name appear without all the columns name. any idea how can i paste
it to have information for both tables name and columns name as well.i've no issue creating diagram and paste on paint for my sql server 2008.
    Thanks in advance.
    kneeah

    Hi kneeah,
According to your description, SQL 2012 database diagram is not printed correctly and several of column names are missed. There are some suggestions for troubleshooting this issue, you can refer to the following steps.
    1. We recommend you can copy database diagram to Word and check if it will print correctly.
    2. When printing database diagrams, several of the tables contain large grey squares instead of the column names. We recommend switch Windows XP computer from Classic theme to Windows XP theme, and check if it can print correctly.
There is more similar issue about printing database diagram, you can review the following posts.

  • SQL server 2012 - Database Availability Group

We have 2 new Servers ready to be deployed as Database Servers for Sharepoint 2013.
both server have 1TB RAID 5 Hard Disk Space.
We don't have any kind of Shared Storage/SAN etc & we cannot afford to buy this.
I have Configured Windows Server Fail-over Cluster with File Share Quorum.
May i Configure the SQL Database 2012 on Each Server on local disk and then make High Availability Groups?

As well as the youtube video that Edwin has posted for you have a read of my article on SimpleTalk.com.

  • SQL Server 2012 Database with FileStream enabled tables

    Hi,
I have some questions concerning the SQL Server 2012 FileStream feature.
In a database combining both Filestream connected tables and none filestream connected tables. It is obviously possible to tell the root path to a filestream FILEGROUP. It's also possible to create database primary data file (.mdf) and several
optional secondary data files (.ndf), and multiple log files.
If I have two filestream connected tables, which each in turn have a couple of other referenced tables (none filestream connected). Is it possible to put the filestream filegroup1 (eg. the filestream connected table1) and its referenced none filestream connected
tables, their data, indexes etc., on the same physical data file? And the other filestream connected table and its referenced tables to another physical file (.ndf)? If this is possible and recommended, how do I declare such an create database statement?
For ex. when having tables for both none archived state, archived state, in the same database. Or is the best solution to split the two (and its referenced tables) in separate databases?
    SWEDEV

    Hello,
File groups a just contains for the objects, you e.g. can split one table over several file Groups/secondarie files using partitioning. And a filestream is also just a table. You can reference all table Independent of file Groups / file stream.

  • SQL SERVER 2012 Database Engine login issues

I've installed MS SQL SERVER 2012 Standard Edition. WHat i'm facing now is the SQL SERVER will auto change my "sa" login password to soemthing else. I had put a password to "xxx", but when login to "sa" account using SQL Authentication
mode, it will prompt login failed for user "sa".
So, i change to WIndow Authentication mode and login , then from there i change the "sa" password to the original value. Now i login again with the password using SQL authentication and it works.
But my question is - Why the password will auto change after sometime? does it relate to sticter security policy in SQL SERVER 2012?
    Please advice.

No, it can't change that on its own.
Please recall whether during troubleshooting, you have changed the password and tried.
Also, please check if due to any reason was there any job doing this for you unknowingly, may be some password changed sometime and its getting changed now and then and its getting reset.
We too do something sometime which we forget.
Please check in your team internally on it.

  • Sharepoint 2007 using sql server 2012 database server

We still have an old SharePoint 2007 farm that runs on SQL Server 2008 and Reporting Services 2008. I would like to migrate this app over to SQL Server 2012. From what I gather SharePoint 2007 supports SQL 2012 if you are running WSS service pack 3 and
SharePoint server service pack 3 I am already on SP3.  So my question is who all here is running SharePoint 2007 on SQL 2012 and have you had any problems?

Yes I have an environment that is SPS 2007 wSP3 and SQL Server 2012, and have been doing this for 2 months. So far, no problems. There have been issies with User Profile services, but those turned out to be unrelated.
