ICal server and external invitations via 3rd party mail server

Push Notification
We are currently testing iCal server and have configured it to send out invites via our mail server (which is running on a different server) by creating the com.apple.calendarserver user on our mail server.
Email notifications are then configured under the Enable Email Invitations tab in the iCal service of Server Admin as follows:
IMAP
Email address: [email protected]
Incoming server: mail.mytest.com
Port: 143 (not using SSL)
Username: com.apple.calendarserver
Password: secret
SMTP: mail.mytest.com
Port: 25 (not using SSL)
Server requires authentication
Username: com.apple.calendarserver
Password: secret
My test OD users are able to send out invites both internally to other iCal users and externally via email.
So for example, I invite someone to a meeting and enter their gmail address ([email protected]), the invitation goes out correctly - when I log into gmail I see the invitation.
When responding to the invitation (clicking Yes), the mail server receives the response from gmail and the iCal server collects the message via IMAP.
However, the iCal server doesn't seem to parse the received email correctly as I get the following error in the iCal error logs:

I have set a rule on our mail server to bypass any spam filtering for all messages sent to the [email protected] address, but this doesn't seem to make any difference.
Does anyone else have this working ? Any ideas ?

The issue is not "user authorization". The issue is that the 3rd-party service does not accept all incoming relay requests unless there is authentication with a registered account (which we have). This protects the 3rd-party service from becoming the relaying host for the universe's spoofed and anonymous spam. My deduction is that there is no mechanism in UTL_MAIL to designate not only the 3rd-party ip-address:port (by-passing the local sendmail server) but also providing the username:password for the account there for authentication.
Plan A: I have attempted to follow directions for client-side SMTP Authentication for Relaying on the sendmail.org site.
I have not been successful in completing a simple mailx interactive test, much less completing a UTL_MAIL configuration.
I am scouring the user universe for someone who has put all the pieces together successfully and can advise. . . .

3rd Party SCTP stack

Hi all,
We did develop a protocol on Solaris 9 that uses SCTP as transport protocol (and on that time the SCTP was not available). So we bought a sctp stack from a third party company, now we did a upgrade to Solaris 10 and since we have our application working with the 3rd party SCTP we don't wanna to give up of it (even because some customization would be necessary for use solaris sctp stack).
My question is, is there any problem on using both stack at the same time? I am asking that because now we will develop another application and use the sun stack seems to be the best choice (it is easier to use). However I am afraid if those stacks can get in conflict?
The 3rd party stack we do have, uses RAW_SOCKET in order to implemente the SCTP... I don´t know how those things work behind the scenes on solaris, so I am not sure of how realiable is having two appilcations the same transport layer socket.

Well, my main concern is not about support. I would like to make sure that both SCTP stacks will not get in conflict.
I did a test bed and create a sample time server using SUN SCTP and it worked fine with the 3rd party SCTP M3UA application.
I have the solaris 10 internals book, and there I could see that SUN implements the stack like drivers, however they only comment about UDP and TCP.
On my guess there is also one for SCTP and other one for RAW socket. If my guess is right, adding to the fact the our 3rd party sctp stack uses raw socket, the
sun sctp stack would be used together with no problem - what my tests have confirmed.
However, I am still not 100% sure that everything will gonna be right. As I told before, our 3rd party stack uses RAW SOCKET (so the SCTP was implemented on top of it) and SUN SCTP STACK seems to use a specific SCTP driver for that. What should prevent problems.
My main concer is that IP packages define an ID that map the packet to a upper layer (and both SUN SCTP stack and our 3rd party SCTP stack) use the same
value when openning the socket, so how the IP layer would know which one (SCTP or 3rd party) shall receive the packet?

I am using a 3rd party ssh application. I did add this to the startup through SMF and I got this error in my console.
I copied the ssh.xml and revised some lines from manifest(ssh.xml) and revised particularly the below entries

Hi~ I'd like to know what the difference is between Outlook features using exchage server and using 3rd party mail server.
If I use 3rd party mail server with Outlook, Outlook features are the same as Exchange Server ?
I want to use all Outlook features..

The basic features (and many advanced features) are identical in all accounts. With pop3, your mail, calendar, contacts, tasks, notes are stored in a pst and are only on the computer. IMAP accounts only sync email back to the server, not calendar,
contacts, and tasks. Outlook.com EAS accounts (aka Hotmail) syncs calendar and contacts back to the server. Exchange mailboxes stores everything on the server - mail, calendar, contacts, custom views, rules - and if you open the mailbox in outlook on
any other computer, the mailbox is identical. Because everything is on the server, you'll have much better syncing with smartphones and tablets with Exchange mailboxes.
Calendar sharing, open other users folder, and retention policies are Exchange-only. Mail Tips and apps (linked under the reading pane header in Outlook 2013) are Exchange-only.

Memory leak issue with link server between SQL Server 2012 and Oracle

We are trying to use the linked server feature with SQL Server 2012 to connect SQL server and Oracle database. We are concerned about the existing memory leak issue. For more context please refer to the link.

The above link talks about the issues with SQL Server versions 2005 and 2008, not sure if this is still the case in 2012. I could not find any article that talks about if this issue was fixed by Microsoft in later version.
We know that SQL Server process crashes because of the third-party linked server provider which is loaded inside SQL Server process. If the third-party linked server provider is enabled together with the
Allow inprocess option, the SQL Server process crashes when this third-party linked server experiences internal problems.
We wanted to know if this fixed in SQL Server 2012 ?

So your question is more of a information type or are you really facing OOM issue.
There can be two things for OOM
1. There is bug in SQL Server which is causing the issue which might be fixed in 2012
2. The Linked server provider used to connect to Oracle is not upto date and some patch is missing or more recent version is to be used. Did you made sure that you are using latest version.
What is Oracle version you are trying to connect(9i,10g, R2...)

Using barcodes with Oracle / no 3rd party

Is anyone aware of or doing barcodes with Oracle... be it sql/plus, reports, etc. without using 3rd party packages? I have been asked to research how we can produce documents that contain barcodes in pdf format. I have found 3rd party packages that do it but am tasked with finding if there is a way without those add-ons.

If this is on a mac, my guess is that you are choosing the obvious file as your external editor rather than the correct one. You want this one:

Raising a notification from 3rd party software

We have a client looking at raising notifications within the asset management system of SAP via a sql/.net software application. The 3rd party software has a defect register which could be used to open the SAP notification. We would like to populate the fields automatically when the notification is opened.
Is there a current feature within SAP to raise single or multiple notifications via a 3rd party application?

Things are where they were.
Any Function Module(BAPI here) is the ABAP part. So the solution involves 3 parties. The BAPI suggested helps in creating a Notification by receiving parameters as Inputs. Where these parameters come from? These come from 3rd party software (you called so) through interface (XI here)
Flow is like this.
Interface (XI) - Receives parameters from your Browser (assumed you called it 3rd party) and translates into SAP field names and values.
ABAP - Receives these inputs, feeds to the BAPI the output of which is a Notification.
Note:
BAPI_ALM_NOTIF_CREATE is a Notification creation tool (Function module) in ABAP. This receives SAP field values as inputs and generates a Notification. It has got a wide range of applications in regular SAP developments.

I have a Personal Video Recorder (Humax HDR-1010S), which supports DLNA, connected to my home network via Wi-Fi.
I want to play music from iTunes and view photos from iPhoto from my MacBook (which is also connected to the home network) via the PVR / TV / Home Cinema sound system. I understand that my MacBook (running OS X Mavericks) doesn't support DLNA server.
Is there any 3rd party software that I can install on my MacBook to provide DLNA server?

My recollection is that the iPhoto library has some fairly robust protections to prevent inadvertent or even deliberate changes being made that might have unwanted consequences. I'll take alook at my setup and let you know if I can see anything that might help you. Even if you get Serviio to "see" the iPhoto library, it almost ceratinly won't show the album structure and names. What I did is to export each iPhoto album to a standard folder with the appropriate folder name. These I keep on an external backup disc and Serviio can see these without trouble.

SQL Server setup - you have to choose one of two options for the truncation point and the transaction log:
If the Extract process is running against a SQL Server 2005 source, use the TRANLOGOPTIONS
parameter to control whether Extract or SQL Server maintains the secondary truncation
point. This is a required parameter and must contain one of the following options:
SQL Server replication maintains the truncation point
Use TRANLOGOPTIONS with the NOMANAGESECONDARYTRUNCATIONPOINT option if Extract and
SQL Server 2005 replication or a third-party replication program will be running at the
same time for the same database.
Oracle GoldenGate maintains the truncation point

How to read .mdmp files generated by sql server ?

Hello Everyone!!
As we all know that the SQL Server creates STACK DUMP (.mdmp) files on SQL Server crashes. In an attempt to postmortem the issue, how to open these .mdmp files. Tried to open with Notepad/wordpad, no luck. They are not supporting the formats.
Do we have any Microsoft's or Microsoft recommended tools to debug this file for elevating the root problem.
In my case, I got mini dump files which of size some 40 MB.

You need to install windows debugger tools inorder to analyze dump files. Its not an easy task and different types of dumps have different way of debugging.
Depending on your interest and skill in dump analysis (with the help of public symbols), you might be able to get to some conclusions but for a wide variety of cases you might have to go to microsoft support for help.

3rd party email will not work

I have a 3rd party software that emails users on request. When we were using Office 2003 we did not have a problem. I am not sure that the issue is with the version of office, but I do know that there are many more security items in the newer versions. I
need to find out if there is something within outlook 2007/2010 that would prevent a 3rd party software from sending an unsecure email. This is all internal, the emails are not being sent out. We do have the correct information (mail server/port 25) in the
3rd party software setup. The error is:
The e-mail was not sent to the individual for the following reason:
A communication error occurred with the mail server.
Service not available, closing transmission channel. Ther server response was: 4.3.2 Service not available, closing transmission channel.
Any ideas?

Hi,
Please check your antivirus software settings and your firewall settings. Try to temporarily disable them and then test the issue again.
The error message would indicate that the mail server itself is rejecting the connection. If you are using an Exchange server, please try adding your server IP Address to the field "Receive mail from remote server that have this IP Address". You
can find the setting by going to: Server Configuration > Hub Transport > "Default SERVERNAME" > Network tab > "Receive mail from remote servers that have this IP Address".
In addition, you can contact the third-party software support to confirm that if you need to change any setting in newer version of Outlook.
