SQL Server compilation and Debugging

Hello,
I am trying to compile a SQL Server procedure but looks like the SQL Developer 3.2.20.09, I am using which is the latest treats the SQL Server code as read only, there is no option for compiling the code as is available for Oracle PLSQL. Am I missing something or doing something incorrectly ?
Also I would like to debug an Oracle Procedure using SQL Developer which is called from a Java apllication , can someone please let me know how this can be done or forward me links to some useful documentation on this.
Thanks
fm

There's no error message there, it's working!
You just didn't give the debugger an opportunity to stop.
'DEBUGGER – START DEBUGGING OPTION
Set this to ‘Step Over.’ This allows you to start and run a debug session sans breakpoints. If you leave it at the default, starting a debug session will appear to ‘not work.’ This is because SQL Developer will enter debug mode and run until it finds a breakpoint, breaking condition, or exception. If you have none, it will execute to the end of your program. The ‘Step Over’ option will tell SQL Developer to stop execution at line 1 auto-magically.'

    Hello everyone.

And I am unable to install SQL server 2000 and 2005.
I also Unable to Install Windows XP SP2.
    Problem is SATA driver.
    Plz Help me ...!
    Response me

    Hi
The Windows XP needs a SATA driver if you want to install it on the notebook with SATA HDD controller.
The SATA driver can be found in the Intel Storage Manager.
I would recommend using the nLite program to include a SATA driver into the new Windows XP CD and then to boot from the new created XP CD.
Here you will find all details regarding the nLite:
    http://www.nliteos.com/
    Regarding SQL server issue;
Maybe you will be able to install in on Windows XP. Possibly there is a compatibility issue between the Vista and the SQL server software

    Hi All,
I'm planning to prepare a SharePoint 2013 development environment. The current idea is to install Domain controller, SQL Server 2012 and SharePoint 2013 all on a single server. Even though this is for development purposes,
would there be any limitations specially when it comes to SP 2013 functionalities according to your experience?

  • SQL Server Express and Visual Studio 2013

In February I installed Visual Studio 2013 Professional. Looking in the Control Panel at all my installed programs, I see that I have a bunch of SQL server-related programs loaded, from the 2013 install and also from installs of previous Visual Studio versions.
I've never done a thing with SQL server express, and am completely clueless about using it. I've already wanted to take a crack at it but it always seemed too daunting, so I backed off. It seems, however, that over the years the integration of SQL Server Express
with Visual Studio is getting more and more seamless. Here is a list of all the SQL Server-related programs on my computer, with the ones installed automatically from the Visual Studio 2013 install bolded so they'll stand out. What I'm wondering is if I have

  • SQL Server Agent and Jobs and executing @EventData

I have a SQL Server Agent Job and within it a Job Step which states "Execute Report Subscriptions" and a command which has...
    exec msdb.dbo.sp_start_job '6FF53AED-855F-43AB-9FB7-064062B8012E' --9:07 subscription
    GO
    WAITFOR DELAY '00:08';
Now, I find within SQL Server Agent the Job  '6FF53AED-855F-43AB-9FB7-064062B8012E' and its step command which is...
    exec [ReportServer].dbo.AddEvent @EventType='TimedSubscription', @EventData='ca4e5410-2758-4a1a-9b06-513821e0d962'
How can I drill-down further into the @EventData 'ca4e5410-2758-4a1a-9b06-513821e0d962' to see what it does? I do not see 'ca4e5410-2758-4a1a-9b06-513821e0d962' within SQL Server Agent and Jobs or am I way off base here as to what exactly the @EventData
    parameter seems to be?
Thanks for your review and am hopeful for a reply.

    Hi ITBobbyP,
According to your description, you need to know the what does SQL Server Reporting Services do when fire a subscription, right?
When you create a subscription several things are added to the RS server
A row is placed in the Subscriptions table identifying the name of the report, along with parameter settings, data driven query info and so on to process the subscription
A row is placed in the Schedule and ReportSchedule tables with the timing of the subscription
A SQL Server Agent job is created to control the scheduled execution of the report, and this is stored in the sysjobs and sysjobsteps of the MSDB database.
When the subscription runs several things happen
The SQL Server Agent job fires and puts a row in the Event table in the RS catalog with the settings necessary to process the subscription
The RS server service has a limited number of threads (2 per CPU) that poll the Event table every few seconds looking for subscriptions to process
When it finds an event, it puts a row in the Notifications table and starts processing the subscription
Please refer to the links below to see the details.

That is, i should be able to have two databases, one on oracle and the other on sql server 2000. the two databases should contain the same data, which includes BLOB data. I guess, sql server 2000 does not have a BLOB data type. What is the equivalent data type i can use to save the Oracle's BLOB data in SQL server?? Should it be image type?
After i migrate the data to the sql server 2000 database, i should be able to connect to the two databases, oracle and sql server 2000, using the same JDBC code to retrieve, insert, update and delete the data. What are the drivers that i should use. I guess, the MS JDBC driver does not support BLOB and CLOB. Is there a driver that can support BLOB for sql server 2000 and is also free???!
    Kindly help... Thanks.
    Arthi.

    Hi,
I am new to jdbc... so, pls forgive my ignorance...
I shall try to map a BLOB data column in oracle to an IMAGE data column in sql server 2000. I am using oracle jdbc driver and microsoft's jdbc driver for connecting to the databases.
My question is, can i use setBlob() method in the preparedstatement in jdbc code for setting data to the sql server 2000 image column?
rs.getBlob() and preparedstatement.setBlob()code works fine for oralce's BLOB column using oracle's jdbc driver.... Will the same jdbc code work for sql server 2000's image column using microsoft's jdbc driver??
    Kindly help.
    Arthi.

  • How to integrate from MS SQL SERVER 2005 and Flatfile to Oracle 10g.

    Hi
I am new to ODI. I am trying to load sample data from MS SQL Server 2005 and Flatfile to Oracle 10g.
    1. I have created three models.
    1-1. SQL2005 (SRC_CUSTOMER table)
    1-2. Flatfile (SRC_AGE_GROUP.txt & SRC_SALES_PERSON.txt)
    1-3. Oracle 10g (TRG_CUSTOMER table)
You may know I got those environments from the ODI DEMO environment.
    2. I could able to reverse the tables also.
    3. I have created an interface which contains source table (from MSSQL 2005), Flatfile and target table from ORACLE model.
    4. I have imported the knowledge modules. But I am confusing in selecting the knowledge modules to source and target tables.
I've selected LKM File to SQL for flatfile model.
I've also selected LKM SQL to SQL for MSSQL 2005 model and IKM Oracle Incremental Update for the target table (ORACLE).
I've also implemented the interface that I created. It worked without errors. But there is no data in target table which is TRG_CUSTOMER.
I really would like to know what happened and what the problems are.
You can email me [email protected]
    Thanks in advance
    Jason Lee

what did give for SRC_AGE_GROUP SRC_CUSTOMER join condition
    if it is
    (SRC_CUSTOMER.AGE=SRC_AGE_GROUP.AGE_MIN) AND SRC_CUSTOMER.AGE=SRC_AGE_GROUP.AGE_MAX
    give it as
    (SRC_CUSTOMER.AGE>SRC_AGE_GROUP.AGE_MIN) AND SRC_CUSTOMER.AGE<SRC_AGE_GROUP.AGE_MAX

  • SQL Server Import and Export Wizard Issue

i am trying to export SQL data into excel to send out weekly reports.  I have created a view and a SQL account has access to this view; however, I am unable to successfully export the data.  In preview I see all of the data yet it fails on the
Pre-execute with the below.  It creates the excel file with just the header.  I am using SQL 2014 and loaded the 64 bit AccessDatabaseengine.  I am selecting excel 2007.  Any ideas welcome.

    Hi astro,
Please ensure that you haven’t renamed or moved the destination excel file during the exporting process. Also make sure that “Create destination table” option is checked as below screenshot and the SQL statement is correct.
For more details about using SQL Server Import/Export Wizard to export data from a SQL Server database to an Excel spreadsheet, please review the below blog.

  • SQL Server 2000 and problems conecting to DBase

    Hello, I get this code:
    String url = "jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://localhost:1433";
        //jdbc:microsoft://server:port/database
        String user = "wilson";
String password = "";But I get this stackTrace:
java.sql.SQLException: [Microsoft][SQLServer 2000 Driver for JDBC][SQLServer]Login failed for user 'wilson'. Reason: Not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection.
But i did create this user.
Besides, when I run the Query Analiser tool, if I try to log in to the DBase using this user, the same problem happens. When i choos Windows Autentication it works, what can I do?
    Thanks a lot

  • SQL Server 2000 and JDBC,Registering cursor as OUT param

    hi
I am using JDK1.4,SQL Server 2000 and Microsoft's JDBC driver.
I am stuck in accessing cursors.
    The SP i wrote is
    USE pubs
IF EXISTS (SELECT name FROM sysobjects
WHERE name = 'spSelectEmployees' and type = 'P')
    DROP PROCEDURE spSelectEmployees
    GO
CREATE PROCEDURE spSelectEmployees @emp_cursor CURSOR VARYING OUTPUT
    AS
    SET @emp_cursor = CURSOR
    FORWARD_ONLY STATIC FOR
    SELECT *
    FROM employee
    OPEN @emp_cursor
    GO
The problem I face is that when i register the output param in java code, what datatype do I specify..code is written below.
    calStmt = conn.prepareCall("{CALL pubs.dbo.spSelectEmployees(?)}", ResultSet.TYPE_SCROLL_INSENSITIVE, ResultSet.CONCUR_READ_ONLY);
    calStmt.registerOutParameter(1,Types.?????);-->What goes here???
java.sql.Types does not give any datatype for cursor or object.Any one knows if there is an extended type given by Microsoft Driver??

I am using JDK1.4,SQL Server 2000 and Microsoft's JDBC driver. Premably for 2000. Numerous posts here suggests that driver has problems. The jTDS driver would be a better choice.
java.sql.Types does not give any datatype for cursor or object.Any one knows if there is an extended type given by Microsoft Driver??You are correct that it would require a driver specific type. I have no idea what it is.
Why don't you modify the proc to return a result set.

  • SQL Server 2000 and 2008 Standard Edition

    Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knows if there are any auditing limitations in the standard editions of SQL server 2000 and 2008 R2.
I'm interested to know if there are audit functions for user auditing like creation, deletion and logons
Can't seem to find any information about this.

  • SQL Server 2005 and ColdFusion 7

    Hi all,
I am using SQL Server 2005 and ColdFusion 7 (standalone) on
XP 64 Bit. I was using the exact setup a couple of weeks ago, but
had to reinstall my O/S due to hardware problems so am back to the
beginning. I remember having a nightmare setting datasources up in
the past, but did manage to find a solution.
    I have tried the following:
    SQL has TCP/IP Enabled
SQL is set to Mixed Authentication
SQL has a login set to the same as my Windows Username and
    password
My database has a user (dbo) by the same name as the login
    set in SQL
When I add a datasource in the administrator I enter the
windows username and password (I have tried without either as
well), the server name as localhost and the port as the default
    1433.
I always get the following error:
Connection verification failed for data source: DATABASENAME
    java.sql.SQLException: [Macromedia][SQLServer JDBC
Driver]Error establishing socket. Connection refused: connect
The root cause was that: java.sql.SQLException:
    [Macromedia][SQLServer JDBC Driver]Error establishing socket.
    Connection refused: connect
Can someone offer any advice? This is driving me proper nuts.
    TIA,
    Paul

when i did it, i had to update my jdbc driver
