SQL Server Report integrate with SharePoint slow
Dear Team,
I have SQL Server report servie integrate with SharePoint mode, create several reports and deployed to SharePoint, use SharePoint sql server report viewer web part to view the report.
the report contain about 8 parametes, it takes half a minute to load the report parameters, which is not accepted.
What can I do to improve the performance.
Thanks,
Hi, qq_w
First of all I suggest catching the result
query and running it with the "View execution plan" option so you can understand what is slowing you down. Perhaps you miss some indexes or something.
Secondly, it will be good to run it with tuning advisor.

Use parameters in SQL Server reporting services with sharepoint lists
I want to make report from sharepoint 2010 list and forms library in sql server reporting services.
but also want to apply parameters.
I tried but parameters but it is not working.
How I can apply sharepoint lists parameters in sql server reporting services ?
How to run or view report of sharepoint lists or form library in sqlserver reporting services with required parameters?Hi John,
When we use SharePoint list as datasource in SSRS it has two method to add parameter. Suppose we have a dataset (DataSet1) get data from SharePoint list. Please refer to the methods below.
Method 1: We can add parameter in the Query Designer dialog box to add parameter.
Click “Add Filter” icon in the “Applied filters” dialog box in Query Designer.
Select the corresponding field (Title), fill with specific conditions, and select Parameter option in the end of the row.
Create a dataset (DataSet2) fill with Title field.
Double click the parameter we create above, set the available values from DataSet2 field Title.
(Note: In the situation, we are get the single-value parameter.)
Method 2: It is a general method to add parameter in SSRS report.
Create another dataset (DataSet2) in the report fill with Title field.
Add a parameter (Title) get available values from DataSet2 Title field.
Add filter in the DataSet1.
(Note: This method, we can configure multi-values parameter.)

Implementing SQL Server Reporting Services with a Java EE Application
Hi All,
I need to find some tutorial on
"Implementing SQL Server Reporting Services with a Java EE Application"
for my j2EE application.
Until now i have searched a lot of sites but have not any thing related to this topic.
I am using apache axis along with SQL Server Report Manager for creating the sql server reports.

Now i want to connect it through my j2EE application and want to retrieve some data from that web service.
I have got stuck on the following BOLD lines in my code .
code:

ReportingService2005Soap port = null;
ReportingService2005Locator loc = new ReportingService2005Locator();

stub.setUsername("localhost\\Administrator");
stub.setPassword("servWIN@2007");

SearchCondition condition = new SearchCondition();
condition.setCondition(ConditionEnum.Contains);
condition.setName("Name");
if (searchStr != null)
condition.setValue(searchStr);
else
condition.setValue("");
// Create an array of SearchConditions which will contain our single search condition

conditions = new SearchCondition[1];
conditions[0] = condition;
// Call the Web service with the appropriate CatalogItem[] returnedItems;
CatalogItem[] returnedItems = null;
port.findItems("foldername",BooleanOperatorEnum.Or, conditions);
return returnedItems;
}i.e. while executing the findItems() method i got the following exception :

SQL Server Standard Edition with Sharepoint 2013 Enterprise
Hi there,
I need some help figuring out what will be the ideal SQL Server Standard Edition that can run all features for SharePoint 2013 Enterprise Edition. I ordered CAL licenses for a Sharepoint 2013 Enterprise Server (Supports 500 users). Now I need to find out
if it is worth upgrading SQL server to the following:
Upgrade to SQL Server Standard R2 2012 or upgrade to SQL Server Standard 2014? Basically, I am looking for the pros and cons?
-Esteban
Microsoft manager to programmer: You start coding. I'll go find out what they want ...Hello,
PowerPivot for SharePoint is a feature available only if SQL Server Enterprise Edition and Business Intelligence Edition is used. Reporting Services of SQL Server Standard has also some limitations that will impact SharePoint 2013.
Additionally, SQL Server Standard Edition do not offer AlwaysON, database snapshots and online index rebuild.
To me, the biggest difference between SQL Server 2012 Standard Edition and SQL Server 2014 Standard Edition is that SQL 2014 Standard now supports 128 GB of RAM. SQL Server 2012 Standard is limited to 64 GB.

SQL Server reporting (SSRS) with SCCM. Language issue - how to change it?
My SCCM 2012 R2 server is setup on a Windows 2012 R2 server (English) but has non-English language pack installed.
I have the server working great with SCCM 2012 R2 working in English.
The reporting has turned out to be a bit of an issue as it is displaying the paths in the other language.
For example if I browse to http://servername/ReportServer and click to view the available reports the links are all non-English.
Also, if I go to the ConfigMgr console -> Monitoring -> Reports the names appear in English but if I click on any of them to view their properties and go to the security tab I can see the path is not English.
I want to, for the sake of some of the people that will be viewing/using the reports, change it into English.
Is there any relatively painless way to do this?
Changing the language preferences in Internet Explorer does not affect it as these appear to be hard coded.
Appreciate any advice. Thank you.Thank you. I had previously seen that page but unfortunately it did not resolve my issue.
It is quite frustrating as I can see the actual folders on my server in English (C:\Program Files\SMS_SRSRP\Reports) yet in the browser the folder names and URLs appear not in English.
Also looking at Reporting Services Configuration Manager it does not show any option to configure this. Arg! -
SSRS reports integration with sharepoint 2010
Hi Friends,
Any one can u pls tell me what are the prerequisites for integrating SSRS Reports with Sharepoint.
This is the first time im going to integrate SSRS reports with Sharepoint. Any one pls help me on this.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
LuckyAbdulHi LuckyAbdul,
We can integrate Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services with SharePoint Foundation 2010 or SharePoint Server 2010 by configuring a report server to run in SharePoint integrated mode. There are some prerequisites for integrating SSRS Reports with SharePoint,
including Report server requirement, SharePoint Products and Technology requirements and Database server requirements in SQL 2008 R2.
The Reporting Services Configuration Manager is no longer required or supported to configure and administer Reporting Services SharePoint mode in SQL 2012. Use SharePoint Central Administration to configure a report server in SharePoint mode.
The configuration steps for this version you need to do in Reporting Services Configuration Manager and In Central Administration, please see the following articles:
2008 R2:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb283190(v=sql.105).aspx

2012:

Hello,
We have configured SharePoint site and SSRS for a team project.
Foll. is the SharePoint site for the team project. When we click on the REPORTS link, it redirects us to the SQL Server Reporting Services website.
My question is: How can I show or publish the reports from SQL Server Reporting Services into SharePoint so that I can view the reports on SharePoint dashboard rather than having to go to the SSRS URL?Hi Nachiket,
If you configure Reporting service for your TFS, then you can view the reports in report manger site when you click click report on Team Explorer. And SharePoint is a collaboration website product that offers deep integration with Office products like Word,
Outlook, and Excel. You can save your team project related files in your SharePoint site. Check this
page for more details.
If you want to view reports that generated by reporting service on your SharePoint site, you might need to save the report in Excel and upload it to SharePoint site.

Integrating J2EE application with SQL Server Reporting Services
Hello everybody,
I want to integrate a J2EE application with SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services. In fact, it is the first time to be involved in developing an interoperability component between .Net web service and Java application. So I have learned for some time how to pass this challenge. Moreover, I found the following virtual lab is an excellent starting point "MSDN Virtual Lab: Implementing SQL Server Reporting Services with a Java Enterprise Edition (EE) Application" [http://msevents.microsoft.com/CUI/WebCastEventDetails.aspx?EventID=1032315323&EventCategory=3&culture=en-US&CountryCode=US]

Microsoft Online Community Support1. Question 3: How to install a 32-bit version of SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services on a computer that is running a 64-bit version of Windows?
Answer:
To install the 32-bit version of Reporting Services on a computer that is running the 64-bit version of IIS 6.0, we can follow these following steps:
1. Uninstall the 64-bit version of Reporting Services.
Note: Side-by-side installations of 32-bit versions of Reporting Services and 64-bit versions of Reporting Services are not supported.
2. Run the Dotnetfx64.exe file to manually install the .NET Framework.
The Dotnetfx64.exe file is in the Tools\redist\2.0 folder on the SQL Server 2005 Setup media. To download the Dotnetfx64.exe file, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=70186
3. In IIS Manager, click Web Server Extensions.
4. In the Details pane, right-click ASP.NET V2.0.50727, and then click Allow.
5. Right-click Web Sites, and then click Properties.
6. Click the ISAPI Filters tab.
7. In the Filter Name column, click ASP.NET_2.0.50727, and then click Edit.
8. Replace C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v2.0.50727\aspnet_filter.dll with C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\aspnet_filter.dll.
Note: The Aspnet_filter.dll file in the C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\ folder is a 32-bit version of the file.
9. Click OK two times, and then close IIS Manager.
10. At a command prompt, run the following command:
cscript %SystemDrive%\inetpub\AdminScripts\adsutil.vbs set w3svc/AppPools/Enable32bitAppOnWin64 1
11. Install the 32-bit version of Reporting Services.
12. After setup is complete, open IIS Manager, and then click Web Server Extensions.
13. In the Details pane, right-click ASP.NET V2.0.50727 (32-bit), and then click Allow.
To install the 32-bit version of Reporting Services on a computer that is running the 64-bit version of IIS 7.0, follow these steps:
1. Enable ASP.NET and IIS before you install Reporting Services.
2. Open a command prompt. To do this, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator.
3. In the User Account Control dialog box, click Continue.
4. Copy the following script:
cscript %SystemDrive%\inetpub\AdminScripts\adsutil.vbs set w3svc/AppPools/Enable32bitAppOnWin64 1
5. In the upper-left corner of the Command Prompt window, right-click the command prompt icon, click Edit, and then click Paste.
6. Press ENTER to run the script.
7. Install the 32-bit version of Reporting Services. You must apply SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2 (SP2) after you install Reporting Services in Windows Vista. If you install SQL Server 2005 Express Edition with Advanced Services, you can run SQL Server 2005 Express Edition with Advanced Services SP2.
For more information, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition with Advanced Services Service Pack 2
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=63922

a. Start Microsoft Internet Explorer.
b. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
c. Click Security.
d. Click Trusted Sites.
e. Click Sites.
f. Under Add this website to the zone, type http://servername.
g. If you are not using HTTPS for the default site, click to clear the Require server certification (https:) for all sites in this zone check box.
h. Click Add.
i. Repeat steps f and g to add http://localhost, and then click Close.
10. This step lets you start Internet Explorer either to localhost or to the network computer name of the server for both Report Server and Report Manager.
a. Create role assignments that explicitly grant you full-permissions access. To do this, follow these steps:
b. Start Internet Explorer by using the Run as administrator option. To do this, click Start, click All Programs, right-click Internet Explorer, and then click Run as administrator.
c. Start Report Manager.
d. Note By default, the Report Manager URL is http://servername/reports. Apex & SQL server reporting services
Hi,
Has anyone integrated SQL server reporting services with apex?
I have a client that is running both Microsoft dynamics using SQL server reporting services and oracle.
I am building them a web application on the oracle database and would like to use apex for the application and piggy bank onto the SSRS.
The alternative is pl/PDF, which is too complex, jasper - can't see my client going down this road or bi publisher which is too expensive.
I would love to use apex as it is a great tool, but unless I can integrate with SSRS I suspect I'll have to use ASP.net
Thanks & happy new yearPLPDF is not complex at all. Just skim through their sample reports and try to build some of yours, Then you'll realize how easy and powerful it is.

Hi All,
I'm working on what appears to be a permissions issue with SSRS in a multi-tenented SharePoint 2013 environment.
As part of my troubleshooting I've ignored the multitenented web application for the time being and stood up a dedicated web application with it's own host header called reporting.<domain>.local. I've created a site collection and added a Doc Library
called Reporting.. And then the content types, made sure the features are up and everything tests ok. I mention this because it's not that I can't get this working.. I can't get this working in a Web Application configured for multi-tenancy running Host Named
Site Collections.
When I try redoing the above on a Tenant site I get the following:
Sorry, something went wrong The permissions granted to user '<domain>\bprice' are insufficient for performing this operation. ---> Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.AccessDeniedException: The permissions granted to user '<DOMAIN>\bprice'
are insufficient for performing this operation.
Correlation ID: 7f23ef9c-4b6a-7007-7e6f-0b32c731f7ed
The problem here is that my account is a sysadmin in SQL, a local admin on all servers, a domain admin in AD and finally a Farm Admin in SharePoint. Access denied on my account is crazy. So it's unlikely to be perms in the traditional sence, more likely a denial
by implication (as though I have not been granted access to something)
When filtering the ULS Logs for that correlation ID I see the following log entries:
WcfReceiveRequest: LocalAddress: 'http://homsssrs001. <domain>.local:32843/04560e49d2664b64bc12d9ce7bc9f885/ReportingWebService.svc' Channel: 'System.ServiceModel.Channels.ServiceChannel' Action: 'http://schemas.microsoft.com/sqlserver/reporting/2011/06/01/ReportServer/Management/GetDataSourceContents'

Throwing Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.AccessDeniedException: , Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.AccessDeniedException: The permissions granted to user '<DOMAIN>\bprice' are insufficient for performing this operation.;
A quick google on what I consider the most important of the above log errors (#5 mentioning Sitesubscription of the context site) returns:
http://thesharepointfarm.com/2014/10/reporting-services-feature-pack/
We aren't using feature packs at the moment. As far as I understand it all features are available to all subscriptions.
Has anyone seen this issue? Can anyone point in the correct direction? There must be a config that's specific to SSRS and Multi-tenancy that I've overlooked but I genuinely can't get to the bottom of this.
Kind Regards & Many Thanks
BrettMorning Trevor, please find attached - if you can, any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards
Brett

SQL Server Reporting Services SharePoint Integrated mode - Power View is not supported
Hi there,
My environment is the following:
SharePoint Server 2013
SQL Server 2012 SP1 Enterprise edition
I am getting the following message when trying to open BISM item with PowerView icon:
"The feature: "Power View" is not supported in this edition of Reporting Services."
My problem is that the first time I installed SQL Server Reporting Services SharePoint integrated, I used the SQL Server 2012 Standard edition ISO. But then I learned that Power View is only available with Enterprise and BI editions. So I uninstalled Reporting
Services Add-in from Control Panel, Reporting Services from the installation media and deleted the three Reporting DBs in the SharePoint DB server.
Then I used SQL Server 2012 SP1 Enterprise media to install again Reporting Services but not sure why I am still getting the message:
"The feature: "Power View" is not supported in this edition of Reporting Services."
Anyone can advice me what could be the problem? Maybe I have not complete deleted the previous SQL Server Reporting Service Share Point integrated mode from the previous installation? What would be the proper way to uninstall Reporting Services?
Any help will be welcome.
Thanks and best regards,
JossHi Joss,
I am in the same situation,
SQL Server was installed in the standard mode because of that the powerview option is not working.
I have changed teh edition using maintenance --> upgrade edition. the sql server components like DB engine, SSAS and integration services are now showing in enterprise edition. The reporting services are installed from the application end still showing
as the reporting services are standard.
we reinstalled the reporting services but still persists the issue.
suggest me is there any work around to fix the issue other than reinstalled the whole SQL Server.
Thanks
Ramu -
Dear All,
I'm working on reporting of Project Server 2010, while configuring SQL SERVER REPORTING SERVICES faced issue after two complete days of troubleshooting along with this gone through plenty of forums, unable to figure out any solution. So finally posting on
technet in order to find solution.
ISSUE/PROBLEM:
At initial configured the SQL REPORTING CONFIGURATION to sharepoint integrated database (SQL SERVER is installed on seperate machine), change the service to Domain Account and also installed sharepoint add in on server story was fine at this point. Furthur
moving to SHAREPOINT ADMIN console and while configuring the Sharepoint Integrated Reporting continuously facing this error:
Failed to establish connection with report server. . . . (Snapshot is attached for your further reference).
My point of concern is that whenerver i try to open the REPORT SERVER URL on project server machine it prompts me to enter username and password but whenever i insert the domain credentails it didnt accept though it can be accesible by using the credentials
of Local Admin of sql server machine. So i wana come to know whether its permission issue if yes then where i should mention the domain credentials.?
REGARDS DANISH DANIEDear Paul,
I am able to open the URL (http://psdb/ReportServer )using
domian credential and page open with these contents
Reporting Services Error
The configuration parameter SharePointIntegrated is set to True but Share Point Object Model cannot be loaded
Second,
Configured the SPN on domain controller , performed the steps required to change the AUTHENTICATION in rsreportserver.config
file also done the registry settings to disable the loop back settings.
Same error still ! .... what should i do now ???
