SQL Window Text Edits Not Working

I've been using SQL Developer 1.5.1 for some time now and it has worked great. Just recently, I'm not able to do simple text edits in the SQL window. I run sql queries constantly and have had to go back to an older version of SQL Developer. I have no idea what I may have done to cause this.
I can type in the sql window, but I cannot move my cursor to any part of the entered text. I cannot move to a new line [Enter key], or back space, or delete text. I can highlight text and delete it, but simple text edits do not work.
Has anyone experienced this and if so, is there a known cause and/or fix?
I have no idea on how to uninstall this version and reinstall it. I've tried deleting the files and re-running the zip, but my old settings are still present.
Help?

HT2509 Font Book not working correctly? or Text Edit not working correctly?

I downloaded a font onto Font Book and it works perfectly on Font Book and all the characters and symbols come up correctly, as they should. Then when I use it on Text Edit, it replaces the ', " and @ with a $ sign. What can I do to fix this, or is it unfixable? I'm using a Mac OS X 10.7.5 and I'm not sure what could be causing this situation.

It does that because that's the way the lazy person who created this font built it. Here's the layout of the font you're having trouble with:
Now compare it to the OS X supplied font Andale Mono:
Note on the third line, second from the right that Andale Mono has an @ symbol in the "at" position. The person who created the font you downloaded types a $ sign because that's what they put there, along with dozens of other glyph positions (must have really loved how they drew that $ sign). Which when you look where the quote and apostrophe are, they are also filled with the $ glyph.
The font is a piece of junk. Delete it.

Helvetica problems, Finder has to be relaunched, Text Edit not working (?)

I'm having serious problems lately
and all these problems happen suddenly at the same time.
Helvetica Neue is causing serious problems,
mainly with Quark 6 or 7 but with other
programs also. Like in Quark 6, the font looks
jagged on screen but prints ok
(I remember in Classic there were font suitcases
which caused this problem when the screen font was missing,
isn't this problem impossible in Mac OS X ??!!?).
Certain applications cannot launch anymore (TextEdit,
CD Finder). Now I know that certain programs will not
work if certain fonts do not function properly or are not installed.
I tried deleting my fonts are reinstalling new ones, but the problem persists.
And, I don't want to play around with system fonts too much,
knowing that deleting certain font can seriously impair the operating system.
Now, Dealing with Helvetica Neue is very, very difficult.
I think Apple made a major error in creating its own Helvetica
with the same font number.
*What can I do (simply!) to clean ALL my hard drive of Helvetica fonts,*
*and keep only 1 copy for everything ?*

I will not see folders and files on the desktop. And iTunes says it can't
find the iTunes Music folder (it's there, where it always was) if I use the dock

Aren't all these problems related to fonts ? Bad fonts used by the Finder, Dock ?

If you're referring to Type 1 PostScript fonts, then they don't work if the screen font for a typeface is missing. The printer outline portions of a T1PS font cannot work alone in any way.
I tried deleting my fonts are reinstalling new ones, but the problem persists.
It's possible other fonts on the system are damaged, or you've removed others the OS or other applications need. At the bottom of the article Sean linked to, you'll find the instructions on how to restore just the fonts from your OS X installation disks.
To get things back to square one:
1) Create a new folder on your desktop. Move all fonts in the /Library/Fonts/ folder and the Fonts folder within your user account into the new folder. Leave the /System/Library/Fonts/ folder alone.
2) Restore the fonts from the OS X install disk.
3) Follow the steps in Undoing Font Book. Note that you will lose any font collections you have created. Doing this will also clear the font cache files for your user account. Since Font Book's database is reset, all fonts in any Fonts folder will be active, regardless of their state beforehand.
4) Download and Font Finagler to clear the rest of the font cache files from your system that a Safe Mode boot doesn't.

No need. Read section 5 for the information you need to get Apple's Helvetica fonts out of the way.

Much more likely, permissions errors at minimum (run Repair Permissions with Disk Utility), or the OS is damaged, which can of course only be repaired by reinstalling.

It seems Window buttons (X, -, +) Do Not Always Work when clicked.
Sometimes window does opens, closes, minimizes and often times it does not.

What app are you using?
Here's something strange I've noticed in Mail a couple times.
For some reason Mail opens several viewer windows all stacked on top of each other.
So while click the close button does close the window, there's an identical on behind it.
So it almost seems like clicking the close button has done nothing but it really has.
Could this be what your seeing?

Windows update does not work after using System recovery disk

I have a Toshiba Satellite c655 with WIndows 7 64 bit Home premium. The hard drive died on it, so I purchased a new hard drive and purchased the appropriate Recovery media from Toshiba. I followed the directions and installed the 3 disks on to the new hard drive. But Windows update does not work I get the following error: Windows update can not currently check for updates, because the service is not running. You may need to restart your PC    No matter what I try, I can not get it to work. And it will not let me install Windows Defender either. Any ideas or help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance for your time on this matter.

Self.close() or window.close() both not working in iOS8.0.2 safari

Both these function(self.close() and window.close()) are not working in safari.
These methods are used to close the tab currently opened.
So, if there is any workaround for this.

TouchUp Text Tool not working?

I have Max OS X 10.4, Acrobat 8.1.2 and cannot get the TouchUp Text Tool to work? Can select text and delete/copy/paste etc but cannot add/change/modify any text from the keyboard? All keyboard text keys not working or changing data?
Was using Acrobat 7 and it worked great, however this version is just not cooperating.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

I talked to a very helpful person at Adobe Acrobat Tech support yesterday (Tony) and I *think* I have the problem resolved. [BTW, I don't see any definite mentions to this here: during this problem I was able to delete (using either of the delete keys) text and I was able to hit 'return' to get to a new line - while using the touch-up text tool. Also, I was able to create a new blank document and type in next fine too.]
After troubleshooting all the possible causes with Tech support (including manually trashing all the /user/library/preferences/acrobat (folder) and all the com.adobe.acrobat ..(8) preferences in the /user/library/preferences folder - and after reinstalling Acrobat 8 - the issue still wasn't fixed. I called back Tech Support and got the same person (Tony) and with him still on phone, I created a new user on my Mac -- recreated the text touch-up tool problem and Acrobat 8 worked just like it was supposed to do. -- so ... the problem was in my 'old' user account & probably a font problem.
Tony the Tech transfered me over to a Font Tech at Adobe (who was a rude, nasty s-o-b who barely spent 2 minutes with the problem, but that's IMHO) who told me the only resolution, since in his opinion I had a corrupted User account, was to trash my current User account on my system and start fresh -- no alternative! Since that wasn't acceptable to me, and since the Font Tech could or would not give me a straight answer about transferring fonts from my User/Library/Fonts to the computer (root, not system) /Library/Fonts and working on Acrobat that way .... or fixing any font problems in my current /user/fonts -- ..... I hung up the phone and resolved to track this down myself (with the help that was already given to me by Tony the Acrobat Tech.
The first thing I tried this morning was to see if the Acrobat 8 text touch-up 'bug' was still happening -- and it was.
So I spent the rest of this morning validating fonts and deleting duplicates -- (you know how those nasty duplicate fonts just appear even though you think you have them all removed a month or so ago). I also moved all my Adobe otf fonts over to my /Library/Fonts and deleted those same fonts from my /User/Library/Fonts.
I just fired up Acrobat 8 and tried the text touch-up tool --- and it works fine! No problem at all.
Final answer (at least for me) is --> validate all your fonts. I used Font Book (Mac OS) to do this. Delete any major errors on fonts you can live without. Some of the warnings you get (on the critical errors and caution warning both are confusing: 'name' table warning, for example. Definitely delete every duplicate font you find. I kept some non-duplicated fonts with minor warnings, but these fonts wouldn't be used in Acrobat anyway.
I don't know if moving the Adobe otf fonts to my root /Library/Fonts helped or not since I didn't do a test of this prior to any validation on my user/font file. It was just one step in my bug fix.

Adobe XI - Hightlight text tool not working

Just downloaded adobe XI and the hightlight text tool not working. How can I get this to work.

I guess you can always use the box tool in drawing markups to draw a box around the text then play with the colors until you get close to what you want.
The only thing I don't like about that (besides it being a PITA) is that it covers the text with color as well where the highlight tool does not.

Hi, first disable this POLSTORE.DLL again in your QuickVPN-Folder. Then start in this folder IPSEC.MSC and than IPSEC.EXE. You should get from IPSEC.EXE the error above. If not, than any other problem you have. Follow all the hints here in this thread.
If you get the same error above, than enable this POLSTORE.DLL again and start the IPSEC.EXE. You get the full info what has been gone. And within the IPSEC-Window for Local Computer you may find this FREESWAN-setting.
B.t.w. before I went this way I did export and import the IPSEC-settings from the XP-machine, as it was hinted some posts earlyer. But the way I have gone, works also with manualy deleting the FREESWAN config. With the IPSEC.EXE it will new generated in any case.
When you start via QuickVPN you may monitor also what happens within this IPSEC for Local Computer. Press F5 to keep it aktual.
From time to time the connection gets only succeeded after the second and more times. I have a very slow UMTS Internet-Access.

Dear customer, be patient, don't care about these stupid messages, click again or when the connection allready has succeeded through the VPN-tunnel do what you did like to do.
...... and again, with which configuration-scenario do the guys at Cisco test and develop .....

The error code 80070005 usually means that you do not have enough permission to install updates.
First please confirm you have logged on an account with administrative privileges.
I suggest you to reset Windows update components and run Fix it.

Thanks, for info, iPod Classic is a slower machine compared the Nano, unfortunately, if you read these discussions, majority of the freezes involved iTunes 10. Although if might be just slow and some impatient user just disconnect the iPod ands cause more problems. ( Yes I also did that but safely by doing a iPod Hard Reset, before disconnecting).

Antivirus has a tendency to freeze iTunes sync Operation with iPod Classic, causing a timeout, which corrupt your iPod filesystem, so when iTunes can't read the iPod, it is pointing to this problem. Other causes is when your iPod hardisk is dying, or your battery is dying causing hardisk crashes.
My suggestion.
Connect your iPod to the PC and run chkdsk, to fix any iPod diskerror, then disconnect it, after chkdsk complete.
Disconnect your PC from Internet. (just to make sure no nasties creep into your system while you syncing.
Stop the Antivirus program
Connect your iPod to the PC, using a high speed USB 2.0 port at the back of your PC, do not use any USB Hub.
When iTunes Open up, Restore your iPod please, this is for iTunes to map correctly, to fix the corrupted filesystem.
When Restore complete, eject the iPod and reconnect again.
Sync your ipod, preferably manually Manage in small batches and disconnect after every batch, to check that all is well.
When all sync is complete, and iPod disconnected, start back your Antivirus and connect back the Internet.
