Sqlplus doesn't accept any login - ORA-27101 ORA-01034

Hello there, I eventually decided to write to this forum after
having read tons of documentation and newsgroup posts without any
result.
I still keep getting the infamous messagge
ERROR:
ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist
SVR4 Error: 2: No such file or directory
any time a try to log into sqlplus.
My envinronment variable are correct, (including
ORACLE_SID) the db is up and running.
I don't know what else I could do now. BTW, what file
the system cannot find? the "2" file?????
Is there anyone that can help me?

Unfortunately this is NOT the "final solution" because I had already done all those modifications to the kernel parameters
and still had the problem.
So, I agree with Rob: if you don't modify the kernel parameters
oracle won't work. But for me this wasn'sufficient: i.e. necesssary but not sufficient.
My little step was to modify the startup script
$ORACLE_HOME/bin/dbstart. Here I changed the line
startup DBNAME
with
startup open DBNAME
Since then I haven't had any problem in starting oracle and
connecting to it with sqlplus.
Perhaps I have found a solution without any intelligence of
the problem...

I have the same issue. Ever since I upgraded to Yosemite, my DVD drive suddenly doesn't accept DVD/CD's anymore. I guess it could be a strange coincidence that my DVD drive suddenly broke at the same time that I upgraded the OS but I doubt that.... :-\

IPhone 4s doesn't accept any wi-fi and bluetooth password

Hi guys, i have a very big problem regarding iPhone's wi-fi and bluetooth connectivity,
whenever i try to connect any password protected wi-fi iPhone says 'incorrect password' soon after i realize that even bluetooth doesnt accept any device which are password protected and i recieve same error, im not sure but i think it happened after 5.1.1 update, i tried everything but nothing happened, things i tried are below;
- tried different routers/modems
- tried different iPhones (which are connected but mine NO)
- reset Network via iPhone
- hard reset
- tried different kinds (WEP, WPA etc) and combinations of password
- tried different channels (12-13-11-9-Auto etc)
None of them above solved my problem now im trying restore, it will take sometime i guess (internet speed is low)
im using iPhone 4s
ios 5.1.1
If you know anything let me know, help me Please.

Siri asks for contact choice but doesn't accept any answer

When I dictate an email I begin by saying "send email to" and I say the name.
If there is more than one contact meeting the criteria SIri will display multiple names and say for example, "you have 2 contacts named xxxxxx, which one should I use?" And then she beeps for a response.
I say one of the names.
But Siri does not accept any answer and keeps re-asking and re-beeping for a response.
I have to manually touch a selection for the process to continue.
If this is a bug, how do I report it?

first of all, thank you for you're answers. But nothing you've mentioned worked for me.
I've changed "My Info" to someone else and back again. I have no linked contacts, no duplicates, no middle initials or something else. I just have contacts in the contact app, saved at/in iCloud.
I've determined, of which I dont't know if it'll help me on at the moment, that it works when I'm deactivating iCloud contacts (Settings->iCloud->Contacts). I choose "delete" when iPhone asks what I would like to do with previously synced iCloud Contacts and all contacts are gone. I then create a new contact for my wife/brother/etc. and a new contact for myself (put it into 'My Info' in Settings) with all relations in it. Now Siri works as I expected.
For me, it seems to be somehow related to iCloud sync of contacts, that Siri is not working properly.

Ovi store doesn't accept my login

I have got a C6-01 phone and since i bought it when i try to login in ovi store it says "impossible to connect, try later". Before i had a nokia 5800express musik and ovi store worked, i checked my account (nickname and pass) and they're ok, can someone help me?

HT1349 my IPAD@ is asking for a password and yet doesn't accept any password I put into the space, it just keeps coming back imcorrect password and won't let me exit that window so I can't get into my IPAD at all what can I do

Cant log into SQLPlus receive these error messages ORA-01034 & ORA-27101

just installed the latest release of Oracle DB 10g personal edition Windows XP Professional and Home Edition (seperate PCs). The installation went pretty smoothly. After the installation the db was up and I tried sqlplus and isqlplus and the html em port, everything worked perfectly (that means, all the hardware and kernel parameter requirements were met). But after a reboot, when I tried to run sqlplus again, got message like this:
ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist
I can't even log onto html port
I googled for solutions, unfortunately no right-to-the-point solution and on other Operating systems
Anyone who could kindly tell me which file(s) to configure and how please? I would be much obliged!

First, make sure that Oracle instance is started. Check processes
Second, make sure that your connection string is correct. Check network configuration files (tnsnames and/or sqlnet .ora)
Third, check if listener is runing and configure correctly(lstnrctl status)

My macbook does not want to accept any cd/dvd into my superdrive... any help?

Hi, please I have a problem with my superdrive on my MacBook. It doesn't accept any disc. I just put it in, then hrrrrr and the disc is pulled out. Does anyone here has a same problem? Do you have a solution, how to solve this problem?

According to apple, what is happening means that the disk isn't getting inserted all of the way.

I install oracle 8.1.7 on solaris 7...
lsnrctl & svrmgrl works good but i meet problem ...
SVRMGR> == any sql ===
---> ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
also at the creating database period, always shows oracle not available error...
How can I solve these problems?

Rupal Ok, SEMMSL & SEMMNS are both a function of the largest processes parameter in the init.ora
for the databases on the same system. The starter DB has 150 processes. The oracle formula
says 160 & 310 respectively. I believe the key is SEMMNS because it determines the number
of semaphores in the system.
Try 200 & 400 in /etc/system and reboot. That is probably a little overkill, but it should work.
Besides, when you add DBs you will need to adjust/tune those parameters anyway.

ITunes doesn't accept Apple ID login

Dear All
the log-in for billing / account data in iTunes 11.1.4 doesn't accept my Apple ID. Password is correct and internet connection works well.
What seems bizarr is, that it accepts my ID / pass to login into iTunes Store (it also works for other Apple ID logins), but when I click on my account name in iTunes to see what I bought and other data, it doesn't accept the password. It just keeps repeating the pop-up the window/message, that it needs my login. Only if I use an incorrect passw, it shows up the red phrase saying the ID is wrong. But if I tell the correct passw it keeps repeating the normal message without red phrase.
Any ideas?

SQLplus doesn't allow login after database creation login

I can login in to SQLplus right after the DB config assist completes but after I close out of SQLplus I cannot login again.
I get the error messeages:
ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist.

Assuming that your OS is Windows, try this --
Open Services in Control Panel
Select TNSListener
Open properties
On the 'Log On' tab, put your operating system login name and password.
Save the changes.
Do the same for Oracleservice.
Restart the services or computer

Itunes will no longer accept any of my credit cards. Says security code doesn't match with any card I use. I have inputted new card info in the apple store area and it still says the same thing in itunes. Customer service is no help at all.

After downloading the latest version I have been asked to login with my password but it doesn´t accept it or a new one !

My login screen not accepting any input.
It appears the screen is not the front most one.
I have to move the main screen to see it and it
never becomes selected to allow input.
I trashed two plist files:
com.apple.storeagent.plist
com.apple.appstore.plist
Ran the combo updater.
The login screen still will not accept any input.

As with others, adding FM to exclude list in Application Enhancer does not remedy the problem.
One problem I encountered: when I attempted to disable FM via System Preferences>Application Enhancer, a prompt informed me I did not have sufficient access privileges" to enable or disable FM - same for Labels and Window Shade. Hence, I had to manually move FM to the disabled folder via the Finder, then, log-out/in to get the App Store log-in to cooperate. Anyone else encounter this problem?

Try reboot ur ipad... press home and power buttons until apple logo com up and then release it.
