Sqlplus exe.returns 3 during install of database instance in sap 4.7 ides

Hello SAP Gurus:
Can you guide to solve this issue with the installation of SAP Enterprise server 4.7 R/3 ides
It went through smoothly till it came to Oracle Pre-Load Actions when it gave the following :
CJS-00084 SQL statement or Script failed. Error Message : Executable is D:\oracle\ora92/bin/sqlplus exe.returns 3
Thanks in advance for your kind replies.

Peter thanks for the reply.
But is there a solution for this problem like installing a patch for oracle. I have pathced the oracle with 9.2.0.2.1 but still receives the same error.
Editing the script might cause improper installation of  R/3?
OR will it work properly.
Can i use SQL 2000 to do the installation instead of oracle please let me know.
Thanks,
Deepak.

    Hi Robinson,
    The error seems to be db connect error, so please try to check
    1. set the environment variable dbs_ora_schema=SAP<SID>
    dbs_ora_tnsname=SID
    EG :
    dbms_type=ORA
    dbs_ora_tnsname=HX1
    dbs_ora_schema=SAPHX1
    ORACLE_PSRV=HX1
    ORACLE_SID=HX1

    ORACLE_HOME=/oracle/HX1/920_64
    ORACLE_BASE=/oracle
    ORA_NLS33=/oracle/client/92x_64/ocommon/nls/admin/data
    Where HX1 is the SID for instance.
    2. start the database and then try running the installation.try also starting instance and listener
    Let me know if this helps.

  • Acrodist.exe & Acrobat.exe error during install

    I've tried to talk to 4 different tech support 2 days ago with no help being provided.
    I'm upgrading from Acrobat 6.0 Standard to Acrobat 9.0 Pro on an EFI Fiery server that's attached to my Xerox Docucolor 240.
    I follow the instructions of the installation of 9.0 and halfway through an error "Program Error: acrodist.exe has generated errors
    and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log is being created. OK" pops up. The installation continues and says everything is successful in installation.
    I double click on Acrobat 9.0 icon and it pops up another error window saying "Program Error: Acrobat.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log is being created. OK"
    I checked the error log and it says "Failure to connect to server".
    I uninstalled every Adobe program running in the background, turned off my firewalls, and the same thing keeps happening.
    I really need to get this installed asap for a printing order that is getting ready to hit my machine.
    Please help me!
    Thanks,
    Dan

    Bill,
    This is a print server/command workstation which all the print files come
    to along with file editing before it goes to the printer. It's operating
    system is Windows XP embedded. The tower is by EFI for Xerox EXP250 Model
    S450-03.
    The system came with Adobe Acobat 6.0 Standard, Quite Imposing, and Pit
    Stop. We do all impositions on this machine before releasing it to our
    Xerox Docucolor 240.
    The reason we are trying to upgrade is that we were having problems with
    characters and type dropping off prints after imposition. We are trying to
    take care of future problems with compatibility of files by upgrading.
    Once we get Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Pro installed on this Fiery, it will only be
    used on this machine and not accessed by any other computer on the
    network.
    Any help with getting this set up will be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.
    A key word in your message that may also be related to the issues you are
    having it SERVER. I don't know if that is some other OS or a server with
    Windows installed. In any case, installing the basic Acrobat package on a
    server is a violation of the End User License. IF you have negotiated a
    license for your application, then give more information about the system
    so maybe we can help.

  • How to map profile directories during instalation of Dialouge Instance?

    Hi Everyone,
    Trying to install Dialogue instance, As usual in third step it is asking for Profile Directory path.
    My Central Instance is installed, But while installing dialogue instance  on separate host, profiles directories cannot be found under "/sapmnt/<SID>/profiles".
    I think, we have to map the Central Instance profile directory by creating a directory manually in the Host where Dialogue instance is getting installed. Am i Right.
    Please suggest the solution, How to proceed further?
    If mapping is right, Please tell me the process.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Best Regards
    Vamsi

    Hi Vamsi,
    >> I think, we have to map the Central Instance profile directory by creating a directory manually in the Host where Dialogue instance is getting installed. Am i Right.
    I recommend that you export the profile directory on the central instance, by NFS. Then refer this directory on the dialog instance.

    1. Someone said network problem.  I rebooted, restarted the install and even redo it.
    2.  Another suggestion was to use caps on the password.  Didnt work.
    3.  One suggestion was to update the keydb.xml file.  However, I could find such property name:
    search for the table t_SAPComponent_SAPSystemLogon_SHARED
    then look for <fld name="pPW">, <properties>,
    <property name ="GUIENG_USER_INPUT" and set the value
    "GUINEG_TRUE" to "GUIENG_FALSE".
    4. I even used the ddic password 19920706 which is supposed to be the default.
    5. Restarted the instance and applied all the fixes above.
    Does anyone know what is going on base on the logs above?  Thanks.

    try moving all your install disk onto local file system then rerun the install. That might work....

    Hi,
    I would try adding epdadm and SAPServiceEPD accounts to Administrators group and give Administrators full access to sapmnt shared area. Also double check SAP_EPD_GlobalAdmin domain admin authority and SAP_LocalAdmin and SAP_EPD_LocalAdmin accounts.
    Open
    DCASAPHR05\sapmnt\EPD\SYS\profile folder using explorer and created file and see if there is any authorzation issues with domail\sapinst account.
    good luck

  • Error during Database Instance Installation

    Hi,
    We are installing SAP CRM 4.0.Central Instance Installation is over without problem.However during Database Instance Installation we are getting an Error which says :
    "The node E:\sap\DATA does not exist".
    I created this folder manually.Then is gave another error saying
    "Node C:\Program Files\sapinst_instdir\CRM_40SR1_ABAP_UC\DB\CRM\DATA does not exist."
    I created this again.Then it gave another Error saying :
    "Node C:\Program Files\sapinst_instdir\CRM_40SR1_ABAP_UC\DB\4.0\DATA does not exist."
    Why is this error coming up again and again and any solution to this problem?
    Thanks,
    Suparna

    This is happening because installation program is checking the existence of DB Export directories which you specified to the installation program. It has to do with the installation screen where you specify the location of your DB Export CD/DVD during installation of Database instance. Usually what helps is if you copy the DB Export CD's to a directory in your hard disk and specify that as the target for copy. Just check what you are specifying DB Export parameter screen.
    Cheers,
    Sanjeev
