SQLPlus.exe - returns error when "cl scr" issued

Hi,
I have installed Oracle 10g (Rel 2) on Windows XP OS (Service Pack 2). Though there were no installation issues, whenever i invoke sqlplus.exe and issue the "cl scr" statement, a system error is raised and the application is aborted.
Is this an OS related issue or Oracle related issue.
In case anyone has encountered a similar problem and found a solution, please do reply back at [email protected] or [email protected]

I got same problem. When I start sqlplus (Oracle Client 10.2) , I got a dialog of
sqlplus.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x00000000" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be "read".
I tried unintall the client, clean registry and reinstall it, there is still same problem.

But is there a solution for this problem like installing a patch for oracle. I have pathced the oracle with 9.2.0.2.1 but still receives the same error.
Editing the script might cause improper installation of R/3?
OR will it work properly.
Can i use SQL 2000 to do the installation instead of oracle please let me know.

SQLPLUS.EXE - Application Error

Hello, I am installing app 11i PROD and VIS instance. After PROD is done, it crashes on VIS installtion with this mesg:
SQLPLUS.EXE - Application Error : The instruction at "0x60431c26" referenced memory at "0x00000184". The memory could not be "read".
I tried several times again and again, even uninsall VIS. Still the problem occurs. Any one knows how to solve this?

I installed Oracle XE before, then I backup the oraclexe foler, uninstalled it and installed a Oracle Client 10.2.0.1 in my Windows XP (SP2). I got "sqlplus.exe - Application Error" too. I tried clean registry and reinstall oracle client, the sqlplus could not start still. I install XE again then. I can start both xe sqlplus and oracle client sqlplus. but I got "ORA-24300: bad value for mode" when I tried to login database in Oracle Enterprise Manager Console.
anyone has idea about this?

It seems the item texts is not maintained in the order which is made as mandatory.
Go to sale order VA02, select that line item and click on "GotoItemTexts". There maintain the relevant text and retry.

Update termination error when posting goods issue

Helllo
I have a strange problem I can not figure out. We have serial numbers like 12345/345. When trying to post goods issue I get an update termination error for invalid character. This only happens if the quantity is more than 1 each. A quantity of 1 each works fine and receives no update termination when post goods issue...only recieve termination error if the post goods issue is for a qty of 2 each.
I searched the SAP site found OSS note 40355...applied the note. The note also mentions the chaging print paramters to include "/ _" this is all done.
I tried doing a ABAP Debug in SE38 (for the delivery note print program) and setting the breaking point, but when I go to run the transaction after the setting break point...when I hit post goods issue...SE38 does not return back to its screen. So not sure if I am running the correct program there...or if this works for the update terminations?
So strange I do not get this for a qty of one each only when it is greater than that. I am stumped need help....
Any advice wiould be GREATLY appreciated....

Looks like there is an error in the delivery (or material movement ?) print program. Easiest would be to disable these outputs for test purposes. When no dump then the error is somewhere in the print program an could be analysed by triggering the print separately with ABAP RSNAST00.

Bug Report - DB toolkit returns error when calling the DefaultDatabase property with SQLite

There's an old bug in the DB toolkit where calling the DefaultDatabase property returns error -2147217887 if you're using certain DBs (such as SQLite or PostgreSQL and I believe MySQL as well).
The problem is that this property is called by a VI which is used in some of the commonly used VIs (such as the insert VI),
causing them to fail. Whoever wrote the code was aware of this issue,
since they added a comment about it, as you can see below.
The immediate fix for this is pretty easy - add code to ignore the error or don't call the property at all. It's not used anywhere in the toolkit and unless you're using the VI yourself to get the property, this won't break any code. The problem with this is that you need to do this in every PC.
NI already has a CAR for this (CAR 232063) and should hopefully fix it, so there's no need to take further action at the moment. This post is for people searching for this in the future.

Your problem seems to be windows-related, if you want some help tou should try this on a standard windows installation, then if it still does not work post your configuration (in the right forum)

Basic Search portlet returns error when Display in New Browser Window set

Ora AS Portal 10G release 2 (10.1.2.x)
Have a region of type Portlets.
The enable users to include content in this region is enabled.
I added a Basic Search Portlet in this region.
Basic search works fine if launched from current area, however if change attributes of region to have a link that displays item in new browzer window, then
basic search portlet opens in new browzer window but returns error "Error: You do not have permission to perform this operation. (WWC-44131)"
The Basic search portlet in the new window contains a link to advanced search. If use advanced search, results are returned.
to test further, I added a advanced search portlet to this region, also with the display option to display item in a new window. In this case, the same error is obtained when doing a search.
Has anyone experienced this?
Any solutions?

Are you referring to Edit Region > Attributes tab ? Which of the Available Attributes did you select?

Error when running smart issue

We are experiencing an error when running most any smart issues in our system. The smart issue 'executes', and then fails, with the following stack trace:

Reason: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. Stacktrace: at Xeno.Prodika.GSMLib.Security.SpecPermissionManagerFactory.SpecPermissionManager.UserIsGlobalAdmin(IUserService usrService) at Xeno.Prodika.GSMLib.Security.SpecPermissionManagerFactory.SpecPermissionManager.HasPermission(IPermissionArgs args) at Xeno.Prodika.GSMLib.Security.SpecificationBasedPermissions.HasPermission(String type, EnumPermissions permission, IBaseSpec spec) at Xeno.Prodika.Services.Specification.SpecificationService.HasReadPermission(IBaseSpec spec) at Xeno.P. Please correct the problem and re-issue this request. Smart issue will begin re-issuing where it stopped.
The user performing the smart issue has read permissions on the specifications, and is also in all 3 of the smart issue groups. This happens with multiple users when issuing multiple different specifications. Any thoughts?

Smart Issue Requests are executed by the remoting container. It sounds like the remoting container user doesn't have access to the specifications.
I believe this user is set in environment settings with the Prodika.RemotingContainer.SysUser node.

Php-cgi.exe - Application Error when Oracle is connected in PHP

I am connecting Oracle 10g from PHP 5.0 and my OS is win server2003. I uncommented the following line in php.ini file also.
extension=php_oci8.dll
It is connecting the oracle and giving the required result also, but everytime the following error is coming.

Click OK to terminate the program.
Click CANCEL to debug the program.
Can anyone suggest to rectify this?

Are you using a php_oci8.dll that is the right version for the version of php you're using? I know that sounds silly, but sometimes people do that.

Agilent 34970A doesn't return error when it should

See attached subvi. When I run this in my main vi and enter nothing in the RELAY string control (which is the required scanlist for the Agilent) and click RESET, the Agilent, as expected, beeps and displays an error on the front panel but the error status in this vi doesn't go true. Why not? (The Agilent Initialize.vi occurs before this vi is run in the main vi.)

Why should there be an error returned? There is no error in writing or reading. You are not doing an error query of the instrument.
If you were to use the driver, you would find the error query function and you could place that in your code to check to see if you have sent an illegal command. What would be better though, would be to ensure that the value that is entered into the string is valid before wasting the time with the VISA Write and Read. An empty string should never be allowed to exit the while loop.

A report that uses tablix returns error when trying to deploy to Report Server 2005

We have some reports that have been built using tablixes, and tested in a 2008 Report Server. When trying to deploy to Report Server 2005 (don't ask why) we get an error saying
The report definition is not valid. Details: The element 'ReportItems' in namespace 'XXXXXX' has invalid child element 'Tablix'
So.. what is the issue? I guess 2005 does not support tablixes.. And we cannot upgrade the server version. So the real question is.. is there a workaround for this to avoid having to remake those reports for 2005??

Unfortunately Microsoft provide upgrade option only, not downgrade .
SSRS 2005 report can be seen in 2008.. but 2008 report cant seen in 2005.
One guy created the utility which is paid, to convert the report from 2008 version to 2005.

Replace Text script returns error when dropped in automator

Hi Friends,
I have a series of pdfs that were saved with spaces in their file names. I need to put them into folders for a website (there's a lot). Pretty newbie on this too but I figured I'd try.
I tried using the example script "Replace Text in Item names" which worked on it's own.
(hd:applications:applescript:example scripts:finder scripts)
When I applied it as an action in Automator, I would get an error about "expected end but found on."
I think that resulted from the default script. So I deleted that. Put the replace script in.
I cut out the dialog boxes and specified folders, search, and replacement items. And cut out the second half (after the beep)
However as I step through, when I get to the script it returns the error: No result was returned from some part of this expression.
So I'm not sure what I'm missing.

It is hard to tell without seeing the mangled modified script. Your main problem is probably related to the run handler, which needs to be defined in Automator's Run AppleScript action. Every AppleScript has a run handler, but in the case of the Replace Text in Item Names it is implied (not explicitly defined). You will need to place the main statements of the script inside the Run AppleScript action on run handler, leaving the other handlers (for example, setitemname) outside of the run handler.

ITunes6 returns errors when downloading videos

I just downloaded and installed iTunes6. First thing I went and bought the "Weapon Of Choice" video. iTunes completed the transaction, but will not donwload the video.
It returns an error saying "There was an error downloading your purchased music. The disk could not be read from or written to." Originally I though oh my hard drive must be full. But it has +700MB of free space.
I went to the ITMS. and downloaded one of the free music tracks to see if I could get music and it worked. Also iTunes can access and play all of my current music files.
Additionally I looked in the music folder and I can see where iTunes created a new folder called "downloads" and created a new folder with the name of the video as well as two files. So it would seem iTunes can write to the disk it just will not download the videos.

Can you refomat the drive to NTFS? EXT3 I believe is a Linux partition type. I do not see apple ever fixing it. They do not want to support anything out side of platform controled platforms. i.e. Mac and Windows.
I wonder if this error could have something to do with saving the videos to a partition other than the one iTunes is on. But why would it only have the problem with video files then? Oh well.
My solution has been to stop buying from the iTMS for the time being.
