Squirrelmail setup in mac mail issue

I have setup a squirrelmail account through mac mail but the server wont allow me to send the emails out and gives me message saying invalid certificate, please help! See below, thanks.
The certificate for this server is invalid.
Select a different outgoing mail server from the list below or click Try Later to leave the message in your Outbox until it can be sent.

Is your company exchange server running Exchange Server 2007 with service pack 2 rollup 4 or newer? I believe that that is what I read somewhere were the minimum requirements for OWA server in order for SL to be compatible with it. Also, and I could never figure out why, but when I set it up on my work laptop, I had to do it inside our corporate firewall. And I presume that for account type, you have chosen Exchange 2007 not Exchange IMAP? The only other thing that I could suggest is to doublecheck the server name with your I.T. Dept.

I am having the same problem but cannot get anything but the actual phone to work.  I have a unlocked 3GS running 6.0 (what was I thinking?).  No data whatsoever, no texting, no visual voicemail.  I simply cannot access the APN settings.  I have tried sim swap, I have tried APN changers.  I have been on the phone with ST tech support for hours and hours.  I have tried to get the answers from a "genius".  I am stuck and looking at Android devices, but would really like to keep using the iphone with Straight Talk.

  • Is there a best practice for multi location server setups including mac mail server?

    Afternoon all,
Last year I setup a client with Snow Leopard Server including hosting his mail on the server with Mac Mail Server and calendaring.  He now has plans to open other sites with the same setup, how can this be done using Mac Server?  The implementation of a new server on the new site would be straight forward my concerns / question are:
    1. How would the two servers communicate?
        a.)Do they need to communicate?
    3. How will mail across the two sites work?
a.) How will DNS work for email internally?
b.) How will DNS work for emai externally?
    4.  How will calendaring work across the two sites?
Is Mac Server the best platform for moving ahead with this type of business need?
Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.
    Anthony

    Camelot,
many thanks for the speedy reply.  Your comments are very helpful thank you, if I may I will give you some for information and some other questions.
The offices will be from 5 miles to 25 miles apart, the new office and ones that follow will be considered as branches of the main office for example the company name is Sunflower and it serves area 1, then new will office will serve area 2 and so on.  So in theory I could leave the main server domain and mail mx record as sunflower and then add further servers as 2.sunflower.com, 3.sunflower.com as domains and mx records? This would then provide unique mail records and users within the organisation such as [email protected] and [email protected], which doesnt look to good I would prefer all users to be name@sunflower how can this be acheived?
With regard to user activity in the whole users will be fixed but their will be floaters such as managers and the owners that may at times float from one office to the other and would beneift from logging into any machine and getting their profile.
I have thought about VPN's as I have acheieved this type of setup with Microsoft server products, I have found speed issues in some cases, how can this be acheived using OS X, are there any how to docs around?  In the Microsoft setup I acheived this using netgear VPN Firewalls which ofcourse adds an overhead, can this be acheived using OS X propietary VPN software?
So ultimatley I would prefer to have the one domain without subs "sunflower.com" and users to be able to login to their profiles from either location. The main location now will remain as headoffice and the primary location and the new will be satelites.
I hope that covers all of your other question, again many thanks for your comments and time.
    Kind Regards
    Anthony

  • Curve 8330 email & Mac Mail issue

I have a Curve 8330, about two years old. Service from VZW, and I am set up with BIS. My email account is from comcast.net. My laptop is a MacBook Pro and I use Mac Mail for my email program on that. I just changed over from using Entourage (by Microsoft) for Mac to Mac Mail as my default email. The day I did that I started receiving (on my Curve) emails from Nov. 2009. That corrected when I had Verizon delete my email account and re-establish it. Then just today I received some duplicate emails of what I had already received earlier in the day. NOTE: Neither the old emails nor the duplicates showed up on the laptop, using the same email address. The duplications have not happened since noon today. VZW CSR went into the BIS website to establish my account and I just validated that. THE Question remaining (besides what caused the old emails and the duplication) IS: when I receive emails on the laptop Mail first, they show up BOLD (as unread), within seconds of the same email coming into the Bb Curve, the email on the laptop goes to Un-Bold as in Read already. That never happened in Entourage. What's up with that?

The issue with the duplication and old email is probably due to the messages being left on the mail server, and when you changed mail programs it downloaded them all again. This somehow made these messages look like new email to the BlackBerry Internet Service, so it downloaded them to the device again.
As for the read and unread status changes, I have a few questions. Do you have your email account setup in your Mac Mail as IMAP or POP? Also do you know if your email account is setup to use IMAP or POP on the BlackBerry Internet Service?
    Hope this helps.

I was having trouble sending to hotmail accounts from my Earthlink account, they had me go into Mac Mail preferences and make changes (because they claimed it was Mac Mail's fault, even though the hotmail error code said it's because Earthlink is blocked by hotmail), now Mac Mail doesn't work AT ALL - any help changing the settings back to correct Mac Mail settings? I can provide a transcript of the entire tech chat session, if that will help...

both apostrophes are used correctly, thanks
doesn't = does not (this is called a contraction)
    it's = it is
    Mac Mail's fault = possessive
any help with the actual issue? thanks!

  • Mac Mail issues: Slow load/frequent errors

Hi Gang! I've had some amazing help here, and hope to get some again.
I've been using Mac Mail since it was first created, and I have a LOT of email addresses. Some from private servers, some from gmail. I also have these files on my iPhone.
What's been happening is my Mail program is starting to have strange issues.
First issue. Private server email. I started creating a standard POP, then when that stopped working, switched to SMTP. That worked for awhile, then the port started having problems, so I switched the port around.. then that worked for awhile.. but started loading the mail slowly. Almost like it waited six hours or more, or if I follwed a thread, then the emails started to appear.
Second issue. Outbox is starting to fill up with messages i've already sent, in strange incomplete version of emails.
Third Issue. Gmail messages start to trickle in slowly too, also taking time to load sometimes.
Fourth issue. Changing port issues from outgoing email, randomly shutting down and forcing me to reenter it and change it. So bizarre.
Can these be rememdies by deleting prefernce files?

I do have an application that I use on my own computer but the one time I didn't take my computer with me and I have trouble. I am trying to access my account on the apple.com site.
I just don't know why I can't access my account and I'm wondering if there is another way to access the mac.com site without having to go through the apple.com site?
Do you think that would make a difference...
I'm frustrated. I just read someone else was having this same problem and they stated that there were 2 computers on the same network and one computer gave them the same error message I'm getting but when they went to the other computer on the same network they were able to access the site?
Sounds like it might be a cookie problem? I tried to clear my cookies and there still is no change. Any other suggestions would be so appreciated!

  • Yahoo and outlook mail setups on mac mail

how to setup yahoo and outlook mails on mac mail?

Yahoo is a mail system, Outlook is a mail client, so what email system are you using in Outlook?
To set up Yahoo go to Apple>System Preferences>Mail Contacts and Calendars> select Yahoo and follow the prompts ...
Answer the question regarding Outlook and I'll tell you how to do that as well.

  • OWA - Outlook Web Access setup in Mac Mail?

I can setup my company exchange email on my iPhone using the OWA server.
I can't seem to get it to work in Mac Mail.
The settings are very simplistic on the iPhone. What am I missing?
Is it not possible in Mac Mail?

  • Mac mail issues with Mavericks?

Recently, I have downloaded and installed Mavericks OS. I have an intel based Imac and use Mac mail as my mail client. I have cable internet thru Cox.
When I try to forward an email message, I can't seem to be able to input an address from my contacts list. I used to be able to just double click the address in my contacts list and it would go right into the address box on my forwarded message. Now, that doesn't happen. Anyone have a similar proble or solution?
    Thanks, barry

Try deleting all old unnecessary emails in Gmail.  I had a sync problem (new emails would never show up) after upgrading to Yosemite.  Finally deleted 4000 old gmails and now it works.

  • Mac Mail Issue

I read my yahoo email w Mac Mail. The problem is Mac Mail has created separate Sent folder --- and one of those sent folders does not show up if I go to yahoo and view my mail in my browser. In Mac Mail I have Inbox, Draft, and Sent folders. This sent folder has only a few  files. Down below with my saved folders (under the Yahoo heading), there are two add'l Sent folders full of sent emails. How do I compile these into one folder -- capturing past sent emails and future sent emails? Thanks.

If your recipients aren't receiving email, and your ISP sees no problem, then it's more than likely they're being flagged as Junk or Spam by the ISP of the recipient. If you're sending to a corporate email address, many of them have very restrictive filters and will flag many emails that aren't Junk or Spam, while some corporations will actually delete them from the server so that you will never know it came, even if you didn't see it in your Junk or Spam folder.
Your typical ISP will flag things as Junk or Spam and set them aside in a folder that you can check to be sure something important, or that isn't really Spam, wasn't flagged.
Have your recipient(s) ask their ISP or company about that.

  • Mac Mail Issues

I can not open mail on my desktop.  Mail appears at the top of the window but never opens fully. I have had to force quit.  When I open it again a window appears and says... Do you want to try to reopen its windows again?  If you choose not to reopen windows, you may have to open and position the windows yourself."  Following this there are two mouse over boxes which you could choose; "Don't Reopen" and "Reopen"
    Can anyone help?

If you select Don't reopen, does it open?
    IF YOU STILL HAVE PROBLEMS….
Try each step and check for results before trying next step.
    1) Remove Mail saved state
      • Quit Mail
      • Go to User’s Library
      • Go to the Containers > com.apple.mail > Data > Library > Saved Application State folder
      • Locate and remove the folder called “com.apple.mail.savedState
      • Re-launch Mail
    2)  Remove and rebuild Mail’s container
      • Quit Mail
      • Go to the User’s Library folder,
      • Go to the Containers directory and move the folder called “com.apple.mail” to your Desktop
      • Re-launch Mail
    3) Repair Mail
      • Quit Mail
      • Go to the User’s Library folder,
      • Go to Mail folder.
Select the V2 > MailData folder.
Delete any files in MailData with envelope in the name. (should be 3)
      • Go to Preferences. If you find any com.apple.mail.plist files, delete these.
      * Open Mail. Mail will reindex your files.
    4) Test in a new User. If the problem goes away we know it’s an issue in your User’s folder.
      • You’ll need your email passwords and setup available for the setup. You can save the text file in Shared folder for access in the new User.
      • Go to System Preferences --> Create a New User in Users & Groups.  Switch to the New User by logging out under the Apple in the Menu Bar.
      • Add one email account at a time and let it sync up.
Let me know if this helps.
    **Show Library Folder**
Select the Finder in the Dock. Under Go in the Menu bar > hold down the Option key and you’ll see the Library.

  • COX Email & Mac Mail Issues!!!

+I have read some solutions on other posts regarding compatibility issues with Cox & email. For whatever reason, these solutions aren't working for me.+ Calling Cox has been a complete waste of time!!!!
_Here's my problem_: I can only get my email on the Cox server and to my iPhone, but not to Mail on my Mac. One caveat: I can send/receive a message to myself from Mail & the server...!!??? (but not from anyone else)
    _Here are my POP Settings_:
    * pop.west.cox.net (from another user, I alternated between "pop" to "spop" - it doesn't seem to make a difference?)
    * smtp.west.cox.net
    * Port: 110 (SSL box NOT checked)
I deleted the Cox keychain certificate because it was expired. Not sure if this was a good idea or not - just following another users advice.
I also used the Mail Connection Doctor - all green!
+**I really hope that someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong!+
    +Thanks so much!+

Sorry, but none of that makes any sense to me. What do you mean by 'the Cox server?' Do you mean webmail?
You can send an email to yourself--is that to your cox email from your cox email?
    _Here are my POP Settings_:
    * pop.west.cox.net (from another user, I alternated between "pop" to "spop" - it doesn't seem to make a difference?)
    * smtp.west.cox.net
    * Port: 110 (SSL box NOT checked)
To use spop you need to check the ssl box.
You should have the part before the @ in you email address as the User Name.
On the Advanced tab, you should have Password selected for Authentication.
Edit the smtp server list--the option is in the server popup list.
Set it for Password authentication and use the same username and password as for the incoming mail server.
You're not supposed to need that, but give it a shot.

  • Could we have the same email address setup in Mac mail as POP and Exchange (only one Mac mail)?

Is it possible to have one mail account setup in two different ways (as POP and Exchange) in one Mail App in one device?

Some misguided email operators allow only one connection to an account at a time. (I had one like this myself, and to add insult to injury, when you disconnected, you weren't logged off from the server for up to 15 minutes later, so you couldn't just switch to another computer immediately.)
Who provides your email service? If you don't know how to answer this question, try '''Help|Troubleshooting Information''', clear "Include account names", click "Copy text to clipboard" and paste (right-click|paste, or ctrl+v) into your reply here.

  • IPhone and Mac Mail Issue

I recently got an iPhone 4 and I have had a Mac for a while. I love Apple's mail app and use it daily! I ran into a problem with my new iPhone though, the email accounts wouldn't "sync". I realize that this is because they are POP3 accounts. Does anyone have a step by step directions to import that email into a gmail, but have it act like the gmail wasn't there? (AKA It would import messages from Windstream thru gmail to my phone, and when I reply it goes back thru my windstream email. It would also "sync" the email account with the one of my Mac.) Thanks in advance!

Check the "Import your email and contacts from your old address" section of this "about gmail" article:

  • Mac Mail issues after latest Security Update

After installing the latest update my Mail is acting very strange. If I open my Mail app it spins like it is retrieving mail but never gets anything and eventually acts like I am disconnected from the internet, which I am definitely not. In addition when Mail is open my Safari suddenly acts like it is disconnected from the internet, which it is not because if I close Mail and refresh the screen in Safari everything is fine and I can surf anywhere as expected, but as soon as I open Mail again Mail will just sit and spin and Safari goes back to acting like it has no connection.
Anyone else have this happening? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

It looks like either something was amiss in your system and installing the update just made things worse, or you didn't install it properly. You should start by verifying/reparing your disk (not just permissions), as described here:
The Repair functions of Disk Utility: what's it all about?
Read the following article for guidelines on how to properly install system updates:
