I've been seeing this error around for a while with no solutions it seems, I'm hoping I just missed something obvious:
Whenever I try to capture footage in any project the capture window freezes and premiere says

then crashes. When I say try to capture I mean even opening the capture window causes this.
A Little while ago I captured an hdv project no problem. time passes, no changes to software or system, and I attempt to capture DV from my Gl2 through firewire by going to File>capture. the window begins to open but is blank and I get the above error and crash. This happens whether or not I have the camera on or off, or the cable not plugged in at all. I Can't even get to the point where it says It cant find the camera. This is happening no matter what format I create a new project in.
I've tried reinstalling, getting rid of background processes, turning capture device control on and off.
OnLocation's capture works just fine so luckily I can still work.
I'm running Windows 7 pro x64
intel i7 975, 4gb ram, nvidia gtx 280m
I know theres more info im supposed to provide. I found a list somewhere in the help and support area by mistake earlier and now I can't find it again, sorry.

The Premiere Pro CS5 (5.0.3) update fixes some stability issues with capturing on Windows. Let us know how things work after you've installed the update.

Can't Open PrPro Project / Error in "Timecode.cpp-996"

Every time I try to open one of my Premiere Pro Pojects it gives me
I have no idea what this means... Cs5.5 almost always crash on me when I try to use it. Luckily it is smart enough to save my project for me. Any help would be appreciated.

what is the problem? could it be the Variable frame rate mode?

Have you tried dragging one of the files on the NEW ITEM icon to be sure your sequence matches your file?

Apparently this is more common with Premiere elements but still no-one has a definitive answer.It is using a DCR-HC85E and XP Home.
The above error is encountered whenever the Capture facility is used (with camcorder on or off, many different tapes, 3 different cables). I am able to use a free application to capture the tape so the card is fine also. The system is used VERY regularly and has been working perfectly well upto 2 days ago when this happened. No new software has been installed (application or update).
I've supplied all the information I thought relevant but if needed I will supply additional. Please help

Your tape must have continuous timecode. If there are any timecode breaks, capture will fail.

Error src/timecode.cpp995

Premier Elements 7....when I choose DV Camcorder I get this error src/timecode.cpp995. It is followed with this: Runtime error adobe premier element.exe. Folowed with this: the exception unknown software exception (0xc000000d) occured in the application at location 0x78138aa0.
I am using the trial program and have tried it on another machine which is almost a duplicate of the one where the error is occuring and the program works pretty well. Locks up the pc now and then, but at least it runs. Naturally I want to use the program on the one which has the error.

I am having the same problem, but my computer is a Dell 8400 with 3 GB RAM, and oodles of hard drive space, running Windows XP SP-3 with all the latest updates installed. I have a Panasonic PV-GS500. It connects via USB 2.0 to my computer. I previously used PE 4 and then 6 and was able to capture video from the camcorder via USB. PE 7 runs fine, for all other purposes, but when I try to capture video from the camcorder, as soon as I click on the DV Camcorder icon, the frame of the capture window appears but before I immediately get the message: "Premiere Elements Debug Event -- Premiere Elements has encountered an error [..\..\Src\Timecode.cpp-995]." This is followed by an MS Visual C++ Runtime error, and Premiere Elements closes all windows and shuts down. I've tried following most of the suggested troubleshooting articles. I even uninstalled PE 7 and reinstalled it. Nothing has helped. I've had to resort to using the software that came with the Panasonic (MotionDV Studio) to capture my video, then import it into PE 7. That works, of course, but this is NOT how Premiere Elements is supposed to work and definitely not what I paid for. It's advertised as working with USB, but they seem to have second thoughts about that AFTER you buy it and are then told it works better with Firewire. Hmmm...I'm frustrated, as you can tell. Anyone out there have a clue?

Help with the awful Timecode.cpp-1014 crash

Project HDD: LACIE 8TB Raid-disk connected with Thunderbolt.
Software: Running Premiere Pro CS6 (6.0.0 - Mighty Kilt) on OS X - 10.8.5 (12F45)
I've edited a documentary now for over 6 months on this machine, adding various media types but mainly sticking to my standard Quicktimne Prores LT and HQ. The sequence is a standard DSLR-preset (1080p - 25fps) but I've been adding media with mixed framerate and audio-specs. And this has worked like a charm for 30 versions (incremenally saved project files).
Suddenly today, this following message starts popping up:
Premiere Pro has encountered an error.
[/Volumes/BuildDisk/builds/mightykilt/shared/adobe/MediaCore/ASL/Foundation/Make/Mac/../.. /Src/Timecode.cpp-1014]
I gathered yesterdays project-file from an online backup system I'm running, but to my dismay - the same message appears shortly after I start editing again. I've even tried to open even older versions of the project, with the same error encountered.
So far, I've tried:
* Deleting the temp/cache files
* Reinnstalling Premiere Pro CS6
* Rebooting several times
* Unplugged all USB-peripherals (project disk excluded)
If anyone has anything that can guide me out of this nightmare - I would appreciate it tremendously.

Update for anyone else who's struggeling with this:
Nothing worked. I tried everything under the sun and the program version seemed to fail with the project file - even old versions of the project! So I guess it had something to do with all the different media (formats, timecodes and filetypes). Still a horrible and quite serious error on Adobe and Premiere's part - not having the backbone to handle such a error when it occurs. For any reason, you should get really concrete reasons why a project fails and a solid way to fix it.
Here, it just said; "Timecode.cpp-1014". That is really a unprofessional way to behave, being a professional software.
After installing the CS6.0.5 update, the same error occured every time. But after installing CC and importing the project there, I'm happy to repport that I've not had one crash or error-message.
Maybe it was all a way to get me to buy the CC-version. Who knows. My iPhone always seem to get a faulty battery a couple of weeks after the new version arrives...
So conclusion: the project will open and work in CC, but continues to fail and crash in all versions of CS6 on multiple machines.

Error scr timecode cpp 995

I have pre 7 and all of the sudden it won't get media from my canon elura camcorder. i get the same error (scr timecode cpp 995).
I'm using firewire connection and have updated drivers on video card, quicktime, and tried everything that is listed on adobe troubleshooting.
I uninstall pre 7 and installed it several times. I downloaded pre9 and it got the same error.
I google and several people has this problem, but it seems it had to do with 2.0 usb.
I install pre7 on my other hd on this computer and everthing works ok.
I can use window movie maker and it works fine .
My computer

2 gb ram
298 hd
pentium 4- 3.0 gh
nvidia 6200

Update on my" src timecode cpp-995 problem".
I finally went into the registry and deleted all pre7 files and any file listed on" C" drive. still wouldn't work.
I deleted one program at a time from my computer and tried pre7 each time. still wouldn't work.
Since, i had already updated drivers for my video card, quicktime and tried all the other suggestion in the
adobe troubleshooting files and forums, I formated my HD and reinstalled pre7.
Pre7 works fine now.
I have learned that" SRC" is the same as" IMG". so, whenever i click on the camcorder image it got the error message
But, i still don't know if it was a windows or PRE7 problem.

Premiere Elements Timecode.cpp-1014 error when adding media

Software: Premiere elements 11
Camera: Sony DCR TRV22E
OS: Windows 7
When selecting add media I get: [..\..\Src\Timecode.cpp-1014] error multiple times, when the capture window eventually comes up it says the capture device is offline.
This happens not only when the camera is connected and powered but also when camera is not connected.
I have tried the different IEEE1394 drivers available in windows 7 and none of them work.
          1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller
          1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller (Legacy)
          VIA 1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller
The connection to the camera through firewire is ok because I can download video from it using Nero Video Essentials, I just cannot do it through Premiere Elements 11.

There is absolutely no reason you can't use this camcorder with Premiere Elements. It's a miniDV! There's clearly something going on with your computer that's unrelated to Premiere Elements.
For instance, this appears to be a European camcorder. Is your program installed for PAL rather than NTSC? It's an obvious question but one that needs to be asked.
Also, PLEASE try using the free program WinDV to capture your video over a FireWire connection. If it does,we know something is wrong with your Premiere Elements installation. If not, we know it's something more basic.
Nero, by the way, it notorious for not sharing certain hardware resources. I've never known it to block access to the FireWire -- but I suppose it's possible.
So, please, instead of just flipping off Premiere Elements, do a little basic troubleshooting. Problems with a FireWire/miniDV capture are virtually unheard of, and I'm really curious what's going on with your system!

Adobe Media Encoder Error with MPEG2 Formats [../../src/Command.cpp-2519]

I am trying to use some of my presets using MPEG2 format and it is giving me this error: [/Volumes/BuildDisk/builds/ame602_mac/main/app/frontend/prj/mac/../../src/Command.cpp-251 9]. I try the system presets that use MPEG2 and I get the same error. I notice if I try to make a new preset, I do not even have the option to choose MPEG2. I only get MPEG4 or MPEG4 (Legacy). I am using AME 7.0.2; if anyone has an idea on why I can't use MPEG2 please let me know.

I'm trying to utilize Prelude to actually TRANSCODE some R3D material. Since R3D clips are spanned, Prelude can 'reassemble' them. (I don't understand why AME can't do this since Prelude uses AME... but...)
I get this error when trying to start the transcode in Prelude... any help out there?

Windows 8.1, CS4, [..\..\Src\ImporterProcessClient.cpp-127]

A previous issue for CS4 on earlier versions of Windows has evidently recurred after a recent Windows Security update. Here's one evidently resolved previous instance: Premiere Pro CS4 (Vista) error [..\..\SRC\ImporterProcessClient.cpp-127]
Is anyone else currently experiencing this issue?
My own system specs are as follows:
Windows 8.1
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 930 @ 2.80GHz 2.80GHz
Installed memory (RAM): 8.00 GB
System type: 64-bit Operating System, x64-based processor
I am running Premiere CS4 version 4.0.0
There have been no issues loading and using Premiere since I installed it on this computer, which was done shortly after a full hard-drive formatting several months ago.
This morning, Windows requested that I install a security update and restart. Upon restarting, Premiere has refused to open citing the following error:

Premiere Pro has encountered an error.

The workarounds cited for previous version of windows, such reducing UAC settings and running Premiere as administrator are not resolving the issue. Based on the previously mentioned thread, I attempted the following command prompt solution:
'cd' to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\dynamiclink\
dynamiclinkmanager.exe /REGSERVER
processcoordinationserver.exe /REGSERVER
regsvr32 dynamiclinkmarshal.dll
I received error code 0x80070005, and have followed several Microsoft guidelines for resolving it to. Currently, I remain unable to open Premiere.
I have deactivated, and am in the process of uninstalling, running Clean Script CS4, and re-installing. I will also be checking for updates, but recent attempts at doing so have indicated none were available. Do updates get taken down over time?

UPDATE: While the following information should correct the initial issue reported, a new problem has come up and stopped production yet again. Premeire is prompting me to install additional codecs, but the prompt always fails, and asks me to contact Tech Support. My footage is rendering incorrectly now as well.
Note that my footage was editing and rendering just fine before this mess began.
FIXED. I think this is the crucial step, but I'll review everything I did afterwards:
Given that CS4 (via Photoshop, as Premiere is currently not working) seems unable to detect any updates (despite being a fresh installation), and the manual updates seem to all be failing, I found this item about a similar issue for CS3:

Adobe recomends setting your computer clock back to October 1, 2011, and checking for updates again. It seems to have done the trick, and my CS4 is installing 12 updates.
ALL STEPS TAKEN:
I cannot reliably point to any one step as the "definite fix" for this, so here's a review of what I did in the order that I did it:
1) Deactivate, uninstall, reinstall, reboot.
2) Lower your User Account Control settings. In 8.1, you can simply run a search in the Start screen for "UAC".
3) Activate the hidden administrator account for Windows 8.1. Open cmd.exe as administrator. Press Window+X and select the appropriate option, then run the command (with no quotes) "net user Administrator /active:yes". Once everything has been fixed, you can repeat this and replace "yes" with "no" to hide the admin again.
4) Log in to the Admin account.
5) Reset your computer's date to "October 1, 2011". Be sure to set it back to the real date once everything is done.
6) Open any CS4 program that still opens (as in, not Premiere Pro).
7) Check for updates. A restart will be required.
8) As mentioned, you'll want to reset the things you've changed on your computer. Set the UAC to whatever it was before the issue, hide your Admin account, and fix your clock. After doing so and rebooting, my Premiere Pro CS4 continued to function normally on my personal user account.

Adobe Premiere Elements 10 Error 1 or [..\..\Src\DirectoryRegistery.cpp-283.

I installed Adobe Premiere Elements 10. When I double click on the shortcut icon , I get configuration error 1 which tells me to uninstall/reinstall and then contact Adobe support if it happens again. Uninstalling/reinstalling did not resolve problem so I contacted Adobe support. First time spent about 45 minutes on hold while the person consulted with other colegues and was then disconnected. After waiting about 1.5 hours for call back, I recalled. After about 30 minutes on hold was told that I should call a different number and pay $39 and I could talk to someone who might be able to help me but that this support line did not support this type of problem. Went to online support. Was told to add a new password protected user account, uninstall/reinstall and try to open program using new user account. No joy. Present status : If I double click on shortcut icon, get configuration error 1. If I rignt click and try to 'run as current user get 'debug error [..\..\Src\DirectoryRegistery.cpp-283. If I 'run as the password protected user account get configuration error 1. Note that during the first call, I was sent an email with a 'case number' and a link to check status but the case number has never showed up on the adobe website. Questions:
1. Any suggestions to resolve problem?
2. If I pay the $39, is it likely that I will get the problem resolved or simply get the same run around? I have now uninstalled/reinstalled/restarted at least 6 times and there have really been no other suggestions from Adobe.
3. Suggestions for alternative video editing software if I can't ever get Adobe to boot up. Thanks for your support.

I work with Premierre pro CS4. When I export my media the adobe media encoder seems to be working fine when I push start queue, untill l get the error message [..\..\src\RemoteImporterModule.cpp-282] This only happens with one particular project, but with all sequences in this project. Can anyone tell me what it means, and what I should do to be able to export my movie. I have tried different formats, but none of them work.

I agree with John T. on starting a new post. I almost did not even view this one, due to the course that it has run.
We might be able to get a poor, overworked MOD to "branch it," but then the title might not generate enough interest. In a forum, like this one, the post's title is sort of like a magazine's cover on the news stand - it needs to grab people, in hopes that they will at least look inside of it.
If you do create a new post/discussion, we can Copy John T's questions to it, but do not hesitate to incorporate those answers into your post. We can do that, as mere users, and do not need a MOD's console to do it.
The more info, that you can add, the fewer questions you will get, and the sooner people can get to work on your issue.
If I understand correctly, I do not recall reading of this. However, and predicated on the answers to John T's questions, there might be something else happening.

Adobe Encore has accountered an error [..\..\src\AMEPrestProber.cpp-265]

Hi all,
I have used the CS5 (CS Production Premium) for four years and it has worked fine. Mainly edit High Definition, file based video (SDHC). After editing, I use the Dynamic Link to Encore to create my project and burn to Blu-rays. Accept, since two weeks ago, all of a sudden, I cannot open or create new projects from Première Pro CS5.
The Dynamic Link takes me to Encore and then it comes up with the following message and then closes:
Adobe Encore has accountered an error. [..\..\src\AMEPrestProber.cpp-265]
I have tried opening just the Encore and then import timeline from my Première Project, but to no avail.
I have also, deleted and reloaded Encore from disk and updated, but still not working. I am puzzled and cannot seem to get help from Adobe as it direct me here.
Whilst, I managed encode the timeline sequences from Prem Pro CS5 to Adobe Media Exporter and then imported encoded file into Encore, it seemed to take 12 hours to encode, whereas with Dynamic linking way, I am able to create project, much, much faster.
Would really appreciate some help from knowledgeable people.

I meant 'Uninstalled'. Just the Encore and Pre Pro, but no the whole Production Premiums Suite. Should have I uninstalled the complete Production Prem and re-install?
I don't understand the 'Cleaner' bit? I will be happy to try this, if someone tells me what it is and how I can locate it.
Yes, I am the Adminstrator and the only one using the PC.
I did encode the time lines in Prem Pro to .H624 Blu ray and then used these. But took too long in Encore.
