  • Prime Infrastructure and WLAN Configuration Controller Templates

    Hello,
I work with PI v1.2 in customer environment. This app has SNMP relation with 7 controllers (4 controllers in 2 WiSM modules, 3 controllers are standalone). All controllers uses WLANs which I sometimes need to update. I would like to use the PI so that update all of them in one step. But when I use WLAN Configuration Controller Templates and choose given WLAN Template then the PI answer me with error message: "Unknown Exception Occured. If the problem persists send logs to the Tech Support."
Have you anyone had such a problem? Is it any bug of the application?
    Thank you.

Yes, you should be able to discover templates from the WLC

If you are experiencing that some of the apps in the C3-00 don't use WiFi even when you choose so to read this thread /t5/Cseries/nokia-c3-wlan/td-p/711188 it has some fixes that people have found useful.

  • Schedule WLAN configuration changes using CPI

I need to make some configuration changes to a WLAN on our controllers after hours, yet I cant figure out how to do it.  The controllers are running v 7.3.101.0 (5508s & 2504s), CPI is version 1.3
When I go to Configure > Scheduled Configuration Tasks > WLAN Configuration I get the following message
No saved task exists.  You can schedule WLAN task for required Controller from " Configure > Controllers > COntroller IP > WLANs > Wlan configuration" page.
When I go there I dont see any options to schedule a change.  When I make configuration changes to a WLAN and click save I get a warning messages that leads me to believe that the changes will be effective immediately.
    Am I missing something?

Please go to the below link and and see Configuring Scheduled Configuration Tasks. It will help you.

  • NCS WLAN Configuration Template Problems

    Hi All,
I'm trying to set up WLAN Configuration templates on our new NCS server.  The version of NCS is 1.1.1.24 and the version of our WLC is 7.2.103.0.  I have two problems:
    1.  I do not see an option for AAA Override.   Has this been renamed to something else in NCS?
    2.  I do not see a way to assign a WLAN ID in the template.  This is important as I use it as a RADIUS attribute in our ClearPass guest wireless service.
    Thanks,
    Jason

    Yeah, it's a bit hidden.
For the AAA Overide, it's actually under the Security > AAA Servers.
As for setting the WLAN ID, this is not a configurable option from NCS.  It will just build the next one that is available.

  • WLAN Configuration

I"m attempting to create a new WLAN on the 5508 controller that will allow access to the corporate network. I'm using WPA + WPA2 layer 2 security with authentication via PSK. When I input the required information and select apply I receive the message: The following errors occurred while updating the WLAN: Error in setting Interface Name. I notice the interface/interface group drop down on the general tab reverts from the network I want to point the WLAN to back to management. Any ideas why?
I'm not sure if it makes a difference but I do have another WLAN that is pointing to the same corporate network but it uses 802.1X authentication.

  • Toshiba 46TL938G loses WLan configuration after shut down

    Hello,
46TL938G unpacked yesterday, upgraded firmware from Internet.
Wireless set up with WPS works, but configuration is lost after turning the TV off/ back on.
I cannot use assisted configuration because of hidden SSID.
In manual mode I always get information about improper autorhization and/or unsupported encryption. Access point uses WPA2-PSK AES.
Is there any way to make WPS setting stick??

    Any news?
I would recommend you to try different configuration scenarios:
    - try password which are no longer than 8-10 characters.
    - try different encryptions: WPE / WPA-PSK / WPA2-PSK (AES, TKIP or AES and TKIP)
    - try to connect with Pre-Authentication ON and OFF
    - try to connect to WLan using option Hidden Network - enabled or disabled

    IP : 192.168.80.71
    subnet mask : 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway: 192.168.80.200
    DNS : 192.168.100.11
    IE Proxy : 192.168.100.13 port 8080
keeping these settings in view can anyone please tell me what settings should be done on my N80 and laptop to establish a WLAN connection and so that i can use internet on my N80.
    Thanks a lot

Thru your "Setting" option found in web service you can configure your access point.
Assuming you are configuring access point first time in your mobile.
New Access point -> Use Default settings
    Provide the following information.
    1. Connection name - user friendly name
    2. Data bearer : Wireless Lan
    3. WLan network name - search for network
It will list out all available wireless and select the appropriate one.
    4. Network status : public
    5. WLan network mode : Infrastructure (most of the case)
    6. Security mode : WEP(most of them will be in this case with password protection) or it may be any.
Then set the IP for your mobileusing
    Option-> Advanced Setting.
    In Your case :
IPV4 -> Phone IP Address = 192.168.80.XX ( XX can be any from 1- 255 except your router and laptop ips).
    DNS : 192.168.100.11
    Proxy Server - > 192.168.100.13
    Proxy Port Number : 8080
    Save the changes.
Next time onwards when connecting just choose the access point and do happy browsing through your N80.
    Regards,
    Bala

  • WLAN Controller WLAN configuration

We have two 4402 WLAN Controllers and a number of 1131 LWAPP's spread throughout our campus. Is is possible to set up a WLAN (SSID) that is only available on certain access points? We have some of these access points in apartments in the surrounding neighborhood and want to provide guest wireless in some of the administrative buildings but do not want the guest wireless available to the apartments since non-campus users could potentially use the wireless network. We want the AP's in the admin buildings to have a secure and guest wireless available but the apartment/res halls to have only the secure wlan available. Is this possible?

Yes, you can certainly do this, but it's a bit cumbersome on a large scale.
Using the controller GUI, go to the Wireless tab. Then, on the left, click Access Points -> Radios -> 802.11b/g/n (or 802.11a/n). This will give you a page of individual radios on all your access points. Find the one you want and use the hover-button on the right to configure it.
On the next screen you'll see "WLAN Override" as an option. Enable this and you'll see a list of SSIDs appear. Simply click the ones you want.
Again, it's unfortunate that this takes so long, because you need to do this for every access point that you DON'T want the guest network on, and I'm guessing that this is the majority of your APs.

  • WLAN Configuration Template of Cisco Prime 2.1

    Hi ,
We have added WLC 5508 in cisco prime 2.1.0.87 wherin if we try to configure WLC Configuration template then its not reflecting existing WLAN as we need to do changes in existing WLAN with configuration template. Same way we are unable to find all listed MAC-Filter list in WLAN Confiuration template to execute the template .
Can Any one help me on the same?
    Thanks in advance.

    Services running fine..
check it with other Browser , Supported browser are below::
    –    Google Chrome 31 or later.
    –    Microsoft Internet Explorer 8.0 or 9.0 with Google Chrome Frame plugin (users logging in to the simplified Lobby Ambassador interface do not need the plugin).
    –    Mozilla Firefox ESR 24.
    –    Mozilla Firefox 24, 25 or 26.
If above does not help , reboot the server once and check the issue again.
    Thanks-
    Afroz

  • WLAN Configuration g++

    Hello,
My setup: there are 3 Computers, all connected via WLAN, to an router (no Apple), this router supports 802.11g++. The first Computer is connected via 802.11g++ (max 125 Mbit/s) running windows, the second also windows connects via 802.11g (max 54 Mbit/s). The third is my Macbook Pro, with ability for 802.11 a/b/g/n but I can only connect with 54 Mbis/s, can you tell me why ? For sure, n is not g++ , but n is the successor so at least the g++ connection should be available. Is there anything else required for g++ maybe another update, like the Update to n ?
    Regrades Snoop1990

AFAIK your router would have to specifically support the N Standard in order for your mac to connect to it using wireless N.
What is the make and model of your router I may be familiar with it.

  • E1200 WLAN Configuration

The E1200 is connected to a router (BEFSR41) that is acting as DHCP server. So I have disabled the DHCP Server option on the E1200. Once configured, the wireless connection is working by unexpectedly only as guest user (I tried via PC XP, PC Win 7 and IPad) on the guest network. The problem is that once configured, the E1200 is no more reachable unless I reset it and I reconfigure it.
If I try to access the IP 192.168.1.1, I get the setup page of the router (BEFSR41) and not the E1200.
From another computer the IP Scan discover the E1200 as 192.168.1.103, but I am not able to reach it at that address.
    Any help?
    Thanks and regards

    pmontig wrote:
About accessing E1200, in fact I configured the wireless settings before. But I am no more to modify anything after.
The second problem is linked to the first since I get a message that I could access the device via the main (protected) wireless network while I can connect the wireless network only via the guest network.
I will try to play with the settings as you suggested. Just note that both the networks are detected. For the main (protected) network, on my computer I see packets sent, but no packets received.
Try to make sure as well that the router is equipped with the latest firmware. As for wireless channels: aside from 9, you can try, 1,3, & 6.

  • N91 WLAN Configuration

Hi, I cannot connect to a WLAN using my N91, actually in the options: Connect. >> Conn. mgr. >> Availab.WLAN Nothing seems to appear apart from "(no available WLAN networks)". Using the code *#0000# shows the phone SW version, but trying the code *#62209526# shows nothing, actually it does nothing. On the options: Tools >> Settings >> Connection >> Access points >> New >> Data bearer I only have the options Packet data, Data call and High spedd (GSM), no Wireless LAN option. Is there any way I can check the health of the WLAN phone device? Thanks a lot.

Hi can you check which model you have?
If you have an N91-5 then it means it's a GSM only NO WLAN product. Check the label.
    See this information:
and INFO - Some common sense things - do not disconnect USB cable in the middle of a transfer (disconnect properly). Dont try and pop the battery out while accessing the HDD. The HDD can survive drops (in testing dropped >300 times) but if you are determined to abuse the N91 something will break eventually. N91-1 (WCDMA device Silver with light blue for Europe, Dark grey for APAC). N91-5 (GSM, No WLAN for APAC - Silver with light blue), N91 (GSM, No WLAN for China Silver with dark grey). RM43 is a type number for WCDMA units, RM158 is the type number for GSM only units. Yes its a 3G device (with no front facing camera), you can do video calls but it requires some flipping back and forth...the device was not optimised for Video calls (its focus was/is music!). WCDMA versions have WLAN. It takes about 60 sec to boot up. It supports many different video codecs etc (go to N91 FAQ and type in video) etc. Read you users Guide and also check: Support (FAQ etc): http://europe.nokia.com/A4158095 , Support (UK): http://www.nokia.co.uk/nokia/0,,91861,00.html, Tech discussion board at Nokia (type in N91 in search and sort by latest date etc) : /discussions/board?board.id=swupdate and finally the N91 page http://www.nokia.com/nseries/index.html?lang=en&country=GB#product,n91. enjoy
