SRM 7.0 without XI/PI

Hi,
Can we implement SRM 7.0 without XI/PI ?
Following is my business scenario:
     -  my client want to implement SRM 7.0 self-service procurement with classic scenario.
     -  SAP HR organization will link to SRM organization structure.
     -  Donu2019t want to use material master functionality in ECC.
     -  Shopping cart request would be with short description and without material master number.
     -  Shopping card can be created by selecting material from internal/external catalogue.
     -   SRM MDM catalogue will be updated manually i.e. by uploading data from excel sheet.
     -   We donu2019t want to update SRM-MDM catalogue updated automatically, for example info record or contract management.
Can we implement above scenario without XI/PI ?
Thanks,
Jennifer

Thank you all for your reply.
Just last question :
Do solution manager is mandatory for SRM 7.0 customaization change ?
I have suggested following componet to install abouve scenarios set up:
                        - SRM 7.0
                        - Enterprise portal (We will use the existing EP and will import the SRM related content)
                        - SAP ERP (we will use the existing SAP ECC and will link via RFC)
                        - MDM Catalogue and SRM-MDM related UI
Do I need to install any other componet other then the above for implementing my earlier mention business scenario ?For the time being we have decided not to use BW/BI.
For your kind information, our basis guy has access to solution manager access. They can use solution manager for installation for any SRM 7.0 component. However in our organization, funtional consultant don't have solution manager access. I have worked on SRM 5.0 where we can change SRM customization setting without solution manager. But dont have much idea about SRM 5.0.
Thanks,
Jennifer

  • Business Partner extract from R/3 (or SRM) to MDM without XI

    Dear SAP Experts,
do you have any solution for extraction of Business Partner data from R/3 (or SRM) to MDM without XI? I know transaction mdmgx and the reference data went to the MDM well. How can I do the same for master data without XI? Please write me a step-by-step solution, if you can, because we haven't got too much time, to solve this issue.
    Thanks a lot!
    Best regards,
    Ádá

    Hi Adam,
there are different reasons for this:
    1. MDMGX selects data directly from tables. Customizing tables are very simple tables, thus it was possible to implement a direct access. Master data itself is stored in distributed, multiple tables. It's not this easy to extract the data, thus MDM_CLNT_EXTR is using special extractors for the master data objects. Those object extractors are delivered by the object owners, not by the MDM group.
    2. ALE IDoc and Proxy messages are the common way for data exchange between SAP systems. There are predefined IDoc and XML message types for master data. This was not the case for customizing data, so we decided to use FTP for MDMGX just as an exception.
    3. The MDM data model for business partners has to combine different data models: R/3's customer and vendor with CRM's/SRM's business partner. Those models have to be combined to a general MDM Business Partner model. This requires a structural and value mapping of the different structures. Currently this is done on XI using a XSLT Message transformation.

  • SRM Invoice posting without PO reference - Contract Management

    Dear experts,
We are on SRM 701 with ECC 6.0, in ECS.
Our requirement is to allow invoice posting in SRM, without PO reference. The invoice will only refer to an existing SRM central contract.
We did all the relevant customizing and we were able to:
    Replicate SRM central contract to ERP, through PI;
Invoice creation in SRM and posting in the backend (FI), through IDOCs.
As far as I understood in this scenario, the invoice posting is made only through FI (not using MIRO).
My expectation was to have the contract number in some field at the invoice document level, in the FI.  However there is absolutely no reference to the contract in the invoice document. Does anyone know if this is a standard behavior and/or any idea of how to achieve my requirement to have the contract number in the invoice posting?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi guys,
    Any thoughts on this?
    Thanks!

  • SRM 7.0 without portal(EP)

    Hi,
Currently my client is using SAP ECC MM for procure to payment solution. Now my client is evaluating the use of web procurement solution with SAP SRM Self-service procurement classic scenario. For Demo purpose we are planning to install SRM in a virtual machine and link to the existing ECC Development system or IDES system. Though we have enterprise portal and PI system but we donu2019t want to involve this two component at this moment.
    I have few doubts:
    1.     As per the information in SDN and service.sap.com, SRM 7.0 (service package1) can run without Enterprise portal. Can
some one please guide how can I access various document such as shopping card, PO in SRM without portal ?
    2.     Can I use or access all SRM document without portal ?
    3.     Can POWL function will work without Portal ?
    4.     Do the screen of shopping cart without and with portal are same.
    5.     Two link SAP SRM Server 7.0 and SAP SRM Server 7.01 is available in service market place. Which one I should refer
            for SRM without portal ?
    6.     Can you please suggest(link) which version or the software component I should use for SRM without portal ?
    Thanks,

    Hello,
Starting from SRM 7.0 SP05, we can have NWBC(Netweaver Business client) instead of the portal.
You can access and do most of the things which can be done in portal in NWBC. This NWBC doesnt need any new software component and it comes along with SRM. You just need to activate corresponding services in SICF.
After that you can access it from IE and URL looks like as below:
    https://<<SERVER>>:<<PORT>>/sap/bc/nwbc/srm
There are a couple of notes and you can refer to them - just search for NWBC in Service Marketplace under component SRM and you will get most of the information needed.

  • SRM 7.0 without XI

    Hi,
I need to implement SRM 7.0 with ECC 6.0 EhP4 as a backend. Scenarios identified in the scope are:
    Self Service Procurement (Extended classic)
    Service Procurement
    Plan Driven procurement
    Operational Contracts
    SRM-MDM Catalog
For some reasons we do not have XI in the landscape. I need to identify the limitations in the above scope due to XI unavailability. My understanding is, we will not be able to leverage on below functions:
    1. Services with hierarchies.
    2. Central contract functionality.
    3. CPPR
I am not sure about central contract limitation. If the functionality is not supported completely w/o XI or its possible to implement with limited features.
I want to reconfirm my understanding and some additional inputs in case of few more limitations.
    Regards,
    Prashant

    Hi Prashant,
I think you're spot on, these scenarios indeed require XI. The CCTR scenario currently also requires XI, everything E-SOA-like uses services. The SRM built-in-message broker doesn't support a-synchronous services yet therefore PI is still required however: SAP is going to release more and more pi-independent services in the future.
EHP1 for SAP SRM (due december 2010) will include PI-Independent-Services for the CPPR and CCTR scenario: [http://service.sap.com/Srm-ehp]
For services with hierarchies and SRM-MDM you'll require Xi/Pi. Services with hierarchies in the PDP scenario (CPPR) and contract (CCTR) scenario should also be fully supported as of SRM EHP1.
    Hope this helps.
    Kind regards,
    Tim

  • Can we connect another system say SRM,BI with persona(without add on)

    Hi ,
I have installed SAP Screen Persona's in one my  ECC system ,so can I connect the sap persona's to other landscape system for  ex  SRM ,BI etc without installing any add on it ?As in same ECC system one system we can take main system and other as target system so can i take a SRM system as target and persona's will work on it.Kindly clarify  Sushant Priyadarshi   any comments.
    Thanx
    Niti

    Hi Niti,
In config guide for Persona 2.0 under the section maintained system SAP has clearly mentioned that you can make your one system for ex (ECC) as a source system and then connect your other system as a target by maintaining logical system in SPRO only prerequisite should be your SAP kernal should be 7.21 or 7.40 or higher
Follow the procedure for the SPRO configuration and after that just do the below configuration
Maintain the following parameters under System Settings:
o Service.Uri – Maintain the service name for accessing SAP Screen Personas
here. The default service is /restgui.
o Server.Url – Maintain the server link for the system here. For example:
    https://ldfss600.pal.ess.corp:50015

  • SRM-MDM V2.0 on SRM 4.0 Netweaver 2004

Dear Experts, is SRM-MDM Catalog V2.0 supported on SRM 4.0 (SRM Server 5.0) running on Netweaver 2004. The link service.sap.com/ibc-srm -> mySAP SRM-> SRM-MDM Catalog- > master guide only has details for SRM 5.5. Can you please let me know if SRM-MDM is an option for SRM 4.0 (without XI) or only support CCM2.0. Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Gabriel

    Hi Gabriel,
SRM-MDM 2.0 can be used with SRM 4.0, SRM 4.0 was delivered with SAP CCM this is why you do not see anything in the SRM 4.0 master guide.
There are certain functionalities which will not be avaiable to you using SRM 4.0 however in general, as the catalog application is not integrated with the SRM SERVER it is usable.
Please note that if you do not have SAP XI then you cannot avail of the product master data transfer/contract data transfer and ERP integration will not be possible.

  • Cost distribution SRM to R/3  - based on VALUE

    Hi all,
We are working on SRM 5.0 and R/3 4.7.,ECS
In shopping cart when the cost dsitirbution is sleected as "VALUE",when the corresponding SRM PO replicates to R/3,the cost distribution always changes to percentage/quantity....Why is that R/3 system recognises the cost distribution only for quantity or percentage???
Also we are now upgrading iur R/3 system to ECC 6.0.Is the above issue resolved in ECC or still persists in ECC 6.0 too???
Has anybody encountered the above issue??Please share experiences.

I am curious as to if you got this resolved. When we upgraded, I was hoping that we would finally get to use distribute by value between SRM and SAP without it converting over to percentages. I have worked with OSS and the discussion forum to come up with a resolution but no luck yet.

  • SRM 7.0 for client presentation

    Hi,
Currently my client is using SAP ECC MM for procure to payment solution. Now we are trying to convince our client to implement SAP SRM for web base procurement solution. We are planning to set up demo SRM system for presentation . For your information, my client has licence for ECC, EP and PI system. I have few doubts:
    1.     Does SAP SRM 7.0 IDES version available at this moment ? What is the latest SRM IDES version ?
    2.     Can we request SAP to provide SRM software for a limited period, so that we can install in a demo server for presentation ?
    3.     As per my knowledge, now SRM and ECC one client system available at this moment. Does this one client SRM is similar to
SRM 7.0 and ECC in two different client ?
    4.     Can I work on SRM 7.0 without  EP ?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regds,
    Jennifer

    Hi Jennifer,
-> 1. Latest SRM IDES version would be SRM 7.01 (EhP1), we do not use it though we've set-up a system ourselves as you described in point 2.
-> 2. If you're a SAP Partner you should be able to do so.
-> 3. SRM can be configured in 4 technical scenarios: Stand-alone (non SAP-backend, not applicable), Classic, Extended-classic and one-client. Every scenario has different capabilities for further details please have a look at: https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/SRM/Technical+Scenarios]
-> 4. Yes you can use SRM 7.0 without Enterprise Portal. You need Ehp1 or SP06 or higher to do so.
    Hope this helps.

  • SRM 5.5 upgrade to SRM 7.0 with MDM

    Hi,
Pl consider the following scenario and give your views.
Our client has SRM 5.5 running with SRM MDM 2.0 in their landscape. Now they wish to upgrade to SRM 7.0 without upgrading MDM.(We are upgrading through the parallel landscape).
So during the upgrade phase, we wish to connect SRM 5.5 and SRM 7.0 both to their existing MDM system for testing purpose. Is this possible?
PS : Parallel landscape is existing DEV environment will be copied and then upgrade the copied environment. We plan to copy only SRM Server and want to continue using the existing MDM, PI, Portal and TREX setup.
    Regards

    Hi,
No issue for testing purpose in test landscape. It is not production usage and production system.

  • Contract versioning into SRM 5.0

    Hi experts
i've actived Versioning into SRM 5.0 without Badi.
I know that into BBPD_COMP_FIELDS i can see the fields with which a new contract version can be created. But i don't understand if the name of the group related to Contract Version is really Version Comparition for Contract Distribution.
I'm asking this becouse i've modified the table like desired by me...but nothing changes: version are always created.
    am i loosing something?
    regards
    andrea

Generally speaking table BBPD_COMP_FIELDS is used for comparison between two documents in SRM. So the main usage of this table is in FM 'BBP_PROCDOC_GET_DIFF', which is used by many routines including BBP_PROCDOC_CREATE_VERSION for version creation. The "Compare Method" defines the feature where different areas wants to make use of this table. "CRV" is for version control feature. "Compare Kind" has only two values, "Inclusive" or "exclusive". The value "E" indicate that the field does not want to be compared. So for example if you have an entry such as the following in table BBPD_COMP_FIELDS :
    COMPARE_METHOD = CRV
    STRUCTURENAME = BBP_PDS_HEADER
    FIELDNAME = TOTAL_VALUE
    COMPARE_KIND = E
This would mean that if you ONLY change the total value in your document and release it, no new document version would be created. Give it a try.

  • Reg..SRM - MDM Queries.

    Hi,
    We are implementing SRM5.0 with SRM-MDM 2.0
We have implemented the Standard Functionality of SRM-MDM2.0 without XI.
We have some doubts pertaining to SRM-MDM2.0
    1) Why Key Mappings are required?
    2) What is the purpose of Linking Attributes with Categories?
    3) Why we have to upload the Images into several places.
for eg in "Images" table and also in Catalog Items there is
a field for images.Where exactly we have to upload images
in Images table or in the Catalog Items field
        called "Images".
    4) Functionality of "Mask"
    5) In the Shopping cart 'Context View' Tab is missing.
    6) How Shopping Cart will be used by the SRM user.
    7) How we mapped SRM user with SRM-MDM Catalog.
    8) In the "Catalogs Items" Table there is a field called "Relationships" what is the purpose of the same?
Kindly help me on the questions with details description.
    BR,
    Priti

    Hi
    1.Why Key Mappings are required
A remote system’s objects are mapped to master data objects withinMDM using key mapping. A key mapping maintains the relationshipbetween the remote system’s identifier (or key) for an object and thecorresponding master data object in MDM.A key in MDM is a remote system-specific and object-type-specificunique identifier.
    4. Functionality of Mask
Masks is a static snapshot of the repository in other words it is a virtual repository that we create. Masks can be easily created based on your search in the Data manager client. You can then store this search as mask. Masks have to be first created in the data manager, this mask can be assigned to a given user in the console manager under the Roles table. Once the user is assigned mask he will be able to see only those records assigned to him. In other words it acts like views.
Masks can be also passed as parameter in the url if you are viewing the catalog in the browser (SRM-MDM). Records need to be added manually to the masks they dont get added dynamically.
    8. Realtionships table
For relationships table you need to create relations between your records. This can be helpful when you have items details for procurement where your Main item can be related to a subsitute item or a component item or its accessories.
You can create relation ships in the main table record in the data Manager in the record mode just double click on the relationship pane in the Record Detail tab...you will get the relationship box for that record than you can just drag and drop other records as per the relation you want it to maintain with other records.
I think it may help u
    Regards
    Hari

  • How GUID helps to link the backend documents and SRM docuements and updates

    Hello All
there is no SRM business Objects without GUIDS.
how really it updates the backend docuemnts and bringing the related docuemnts with use of GUID.
Can any one expalin in details clena job and get status does this job?
How this GUID concepts developed (Global Unique id).
What a fantastic concept of GUID !!!!
How backend understands SRM  GUIDs and where these GUIDs are stored in backend system.

you mean the objecttype_hi could only be '05' or '06'?

  • RFC connections in SRM 7.0 = ERP EHP4 system setup

    Hello,
In SRM 7.0 there is a lot being said about the combination with an ERP EHP4 system. I thought that certain capabilities of SRM <> ERP EHP4 in the area of RFC are not supported anymore. SAP is forcing XI/PI for this.
When we migrate our R/3 system to EHP4 will we still be able to use the following RFC / iDOC communications?:
    - Purchase Request (R/3 > SRM)
    - Purchase Order (ECS, SRM > R/3)
    - Invoicing (SRM > R/3)
    - Confirmations (SRM <> R/3)
Anybody has any experience with an EHP4 back-end system? Are there already any plusses for SRM?
    Kind regards,
    Tim

    Hi Rchard,
SAP promised to release RFC functionalities instead of the current PI obligation for certain new functionality only available on SRM i.c.w. ERP EHP4 with the release of SRM EHP1.
But what i'm asking is: with an SRM 7.0 (without EHP1, isn't available yet..) can we still utilize RFC for document exchange with R/3 (f.e. Purchase Orders) or does ERP EHP4 require PI?
    Kind regards,
    Tim

    Hi
We are on SRM4.0 and ECC5.0 with SUS3.0 and having following <b>scenario</b>.
Suppliers gets registered in registration system in SRM.
Purchaser will do screening and select the supplier.
    <b>Requirement</b>
Want to create Vendor master in backend system(ECC5.0) for the above selected supplier from SRM system itself without login to ECC system(that means no manual creation of vendor master in ECC).
    Is this scenario possible?
Did anyone come across such requirement?
Please share your experience on how to achive this.
