SRM Addon Upgrade Path with ERP2005 ( ERP 6.0 )

We are on the verge of finalising the implementation of SRM5.0. If we
go on SRM 5.0 add-on path then what is the next upgrade path that is
available with ERP 6.0. We have looked at SAP notes 963000 and 853651
which clearly say that "SRM as add-on is only supported in the release
combination ERP 6.0 and SRM 5.0 and other release combinations are not
supported. Also future SRM release will not run as add-on on ERP 6.0".
We have also looked at other SAP notes 863532, 982871, 1012010, 1012231
for the same issue.
Can we get more details on the upgrade path for SRM add-on that will be available in
future release with ERP 6.0.

Hi,
As you mentioned you have read in notes the SRM as an ADD-ON will no longer be supported by SAP, there are no plans for further and future integration of ERP and SRM directly, it is advisable to implement the SRM_SERVER on it's own and not as an add-on.

Jason

  • CS4 upgrade path overlooked?

Ok, I was excited to see that I could go from multiple previous suites to cs4 master for only (only, he says) $1199, except when getting into the details of it, it turns out that my combination, cs3 design premium, and cs2 standard, are not eligible.
However, cs3 web standard, and cs2 standard ARE eligible. What gives?
It was then discovered that I can upgrade cs3 design premium to cs4 production premium for $599, and cs2 standard to cs4 design premium for $599, effectively resulting in the same thing for $1198 (minus Contribute), except now I'll have redundant copies of several applications installed on the PC, and not sure how this affects the integration (with Bridge or whatever).
If I take the "proper" upgrade path, it'll cost me $1599. This seems silly.
Was this combination (cs3 design premium + cs2) just overlooked or is this intentional for some reason? Design premium has 3 high-price applications in it that are not in web standard, web standard has only one low-price application in it that is not in design premium, and yet it should cost more to upgrade from design premium than from web standard?
I'm hoping this is some typo in the upgrade eligibility document, but I don't want to order Master, open it (rendering it non-returnable) only to have it tell me "nope, thats not gonna work".
(while I have a need for the "design" applications, I have a hobbyist/learning interest in some of the "production" applications, and I'm trying to decide if my interest level matches the pricetag).

An Adobe representative told me I could upgrade the cs2 standard to cs4 design premium AND upgrade the cs3 design premium to cs4 production, but now I'm not sure.
Also, that still doesn't answer why the discrepancy? Design premium contains Macromedia derived products, and except for Contribute is a superset of web standard.
Several of the 2 suite upgrade paths involve both suites being adobe (not Macromedia) suites, where the suites contain 0 Macromedia products or only post-acquisition Macromedia products.
Its also odd that it costs just as much to "upgrade" from cs4 (thats a 4) design premium to master, as it does to go from cs3 design premium to master, which is really discouraging should I decide to upgrade to master later.
I do remember once upon a time reading that "replace" clause regarding upgrades, but then its confusing that Adobe would offer a 2 suite upgrade path (with no cautionary footnotes) such as cs2s+cs3ws=cs4m when I suspect most people in that situation would have gotten cs3 by upgrading cs2.
Well, in any case, with this added "replaces" wrinkle, I've just opened a support case asking for clarification (via a different route than my previous conversation with Adobe, which was a bit less formal.) I suspect I'm just going to end up going cs3 design premium to cs4 design premium and foregoing the master stuff (I was mainly after After Effects and Encore, which are both "nice to haves, but I don't need them").
I figured the two-suite upgrade options were part of the new tiered pricing (i.e. stop punishing people for staying current, or rather, start punishing people for not staying current).
P.S. I just checked the CS3 EULA, and it actually does NOT state that it replaces prior versions. It does restrict those prior versions to only being used on the same device as the current version, and that you cannot transfer prior version without also transferring the current version, and Adobe is not obligated to provide support for the prior version. (clause "5. Updates."), specifically: "...you may continue to use any such previous version...", So, by the EULA, yes, I do have CS3 AND CS2 (and they are tied together).

  • SRM addon with Contract Management

    SRM Gurus,
We are in the verge of installing SAP SRM system. Our main focus will be on :
    1. SSP
    2. Contract Management
    3. Catalog Management
Please clarify what are the pros and cons of using SRM as ADD-on or SRM as seperate instrance.
If we can use contract management with SRM addon as a leading contract system without creating them in ECC6.0
    Kaushik

The SRM AddOn is targeting on customers that are aiming on a simple procurement scenario, do not yet use mySAP SRM, are using only one Backend (ECC) system and aim to install SRM with a low TCO.
The following scenarios are released within the SRM AddOn:
    Service Procurement (local deployment)
    Self-Service Procurement (classic deployment)
SUS in connection with both scenarios mentioned above
    Catalog Content Management
    This also includes:
operational usage of contracts (e.g. for the assignment of sources of supply)
RFP - as far as known from the Temporary Labor scenario
Please be aware that the following deployment and migration constraints apply:
ERP 2005 with SRM as an add-on does not support any multiple-backend functions or hub deployment for procurement
Upgrade or migration from an existing SRM system to ERP 2005 with SRM as an add-on is not supported.
SAP does not offer migration paths from an SRM AddOn deployment to a deployment with a standalone SRM system.
The extended classic deployment is not supported.
The SRM as an add-on is only supported in the release combination ERP 6.0 and SRM 5.0. Other release combinations are not supported. Also future SRM releases will not run as an add-on on ERP 6.0

  • Basic CMS with decent upgrade path

I am maintaining this website for a not-for-profit organisation (www.snjv.be) and currently it is running Drupal. However, upgrading can be a real hassle between major versions (I tried backing up the MySQL database from a Drupal 5 installation and re-importing it into a Drupal 6 install but no dice).
So I'm looking for a nice but not too complex CMS that provides decent upgrade paths. I'm no PHP or MySQL wizard, but I can get around with a bit of hacking (mainly PHP snippets).
If you need to know anything else, just ask.

When I started setting stuff up, it had a bad reputation when it came to security. I don't know how that is now, but it's been in the news a few months ago - with a major security issue. So I'm not really comfortable with it.
That's a fair enough point and completely true even now.  There is of course things like http://www.seoegghead.com/software/word … rewall.seo now but I won't try and convince you otherwise if you have a dislike of it!

  • SRM on One client with ERP

    Hi,
My Client is currently using SAP ECC MM for Procure to Payment process. We are currently evaluating option for implementing  SRM 7.0 for web base procurement solution. As per the information available in www.service.sap.com, there is a software called  u2018SAP SRM on one client with SAP ERPu2019 available at this moment. I have following doubts regarding SRM on one client system:
    1. As I mention, currently we are using SAP ECC. Does the u2018SRM one client softwareu2019 component will install on the top of our
existing ECC system in the same server if we will implement SRM one client system ?
    2. Normal SRM 7.0 connect to ECC through RFC connection. As SRM and ECC are on the same client. Does it mean we don't
required RFC connection for SRM one client system?
    3. In one client SRM system,  SRM can be install on the top of existing ECC system.  Does it mean,  additional hardware
components like server, network etc are not are not required for SRM one client system ? We can use the existing ECC server
        and network for SRM.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regds,
    Jennifer

    Hi Jeniifer,
I tried providing information to your queries below in bold. Hope it is of any help to you.
    1. As I mention, currently we are using SAP ECC. Does the u2018SRM one client softwareu2019 component will install on the top of our
existing ECC system in the same server if we will implement SRM one client system ? - *Yes. SRM will get installed in the same server.*
    2. Normal SRM 7.0 connect to ECC through RFC connection. As SRM and ECC are on the same client. Does it mean we don't
required RFC connection for SRM one client system? - RFC connection will still be required but since it's same client, the connectivity and data transfer will be very fast and quick.
    3. In one client SRM system, SRM can be install on the top of existing ECC system. Does it mean, additional hardware
components like server, network etc are not are not required for SRM one client system ? We can use the existing ECC server
and network for SRM. - Yes you can use existing ECC server.
This SRM one client software will be very useful in case of a small industry or business, which does not have huge data or processing. But in case your organisation is bigger, then this will not be very useful.
To find out possibility of usage of SRM one client software, I would suggest you to get in touch with SAP sales team and they will arrange for a meet to discuss it further.
    Cheers,
    Ravi

  • Upgrade from SCCM 2012 SP1 CU4 to R2 Fails - Unsupported Upgrade Path

    Hi everybody,
I'm currently upgrading our SCCM infrastructure to SCCM 2012 R2 after have finished with the upgrade from SCCM 2012 RTM to SP1 CU4, thus far everything works fine, but when I try to update any
of the site servers, whether CAS or Primary, I'm getting the following error message in the Prerequisites Check:
I've gone through the system requirements and prerequisites over and over again and I can assure you that every possible update, supported OS, feature set, SQL Server, check list, etc,
etc, have been followed as per the official documentation available, however I'm stuck in this point, and surely enough I haven't been able to find out a similar case.Additionally I'm adding
the ConfigMgrPrereq log (the relevant portion of it) in case someone could kindly take a look at it.

I confirm that this one site is a secondary one that's attached to a primary site and this log is from the CAS server, I managed to tall it and delete it from that site, but still appears listed
on the CAS management console, any idea how to force the removal of a secondary site that's attached to a primary from the CAS site when it has been removed already from said primary?
    I've already tried the
Preinst /DELSITE XXX  command but it only works when the site to remove it's attached to the local site and certainly not from a CAS
Finally,  the version, build number and everything is correct, no idea what could be the problem, does anybody know a way to bypass this or force the re-evaluation of this rules, I've got
the impression that it's being cached somehow.
Any help would be highly appreciated,
    Thank you.

    Hello again everybody,
I've finally managed to fix this up, in the end I had to delete those entries manually from the database as Garry suggested. After this was done the upgrade has gone through as expected with no further ado and has finalized already, now moving on to the
    primary sites.
If anybody out there is facing the same issue, what I did was to delete those "stubborn" records executing the following statements over the CAS database:
    DELETE
    FROMServerDataWHERESiteCode='XXX'
    DELETE
    FROMSC_SiteDefinitionWHERESiteCode='XXX'
And this is pretty much about it. I'd recommend to take a proper backup first though as best practice.
Thank you all anyways for your answers and comments,
    Marcelo Estrada MCP-MCTS-MCITP-MCSA-MCSE

  • Error Message: "This upgrade path is not supported"

    Scenario
During the process of upgrade to Windows 10 Technical Preview, we may encounter the error “This upgrade path is not supported. Please close Setup and re-launch from the root of the media or go back and pick a different installation
    choice.” in the Compatibility report.
    Analysis
Step 1: Perform the scenario 1: the upgrade installation fails.
Reproduce this error following the steps below:
Download the Windows 10 Technical Preview ISO installation file.
Extract the ISO installation file to C:\New folder, and now the location of the installation file is
    C:\New folder\9841.0.140912-1613.FBL_RELEASE_CLIENTENTERPRISE_VOL_X64FRE_EN-US\.
Click setup.exe from the installation file, and then click
    Install now.
Setup is starting, and then get two options Upgrade and
Custom which is the classic setup wizard which we can see during booting from DVD.
Click Upgrade to run upgrade installation, however, the error occurs.
It seems that it is impossible to perform upgrade installation to Windows 10 Technical Preview, although it is fine to click
Custom to perform clean installation which cannot keep the personal setting and applications.
However, what we want is upgrade installation, not clean installation.
Step 2: Perform the scenario 2: the upgrade installation works fine.
If extract the ISO installation to C:\New in the above step2, click the
setup.exe from the installation file C:\New\9841.0.140912-1613.FBL_RELEASE_CLIENTENTERPRISE_VOL_X64FRE_EN-US\, the upgrade installation would work fine, which is as shown the following two figures:
    Step 3: Check the setupact.log
file which contains information about setup actions during the installation of the two scenarios.
Scenario 1: Check the setupact.log file of the scenario 1. The detailed information is shown as below:

Scenario 2: Check the setupact.log file of the scenario 2. The detailed information is shown as below:

According to the two logs, we can get the following points:
In scenario 1, it would invoke the SetupPrep.exe in the source folder directly to perform an installation preparation. However, it failed to recognize the path
C:\New folder\9841.0.140912-1613.FBL_RELEASE_CLIENTENTERPRISE_VOL_X64FRE_EN-US\Sources\SetupPrep.exe. Then it would launch legacy setup.
In the scenario 2, Windows setup would be redirected to the ConX setup to perform upgrade installation automatically.
So, what is the difference of the scenario 1 and 2 to bring the different results of upgrade installation?
    Workaround
Based on lots of testing, we find that if there is no space in the extracting location of the ISO installation
file, the upgrade installation would work fine.
What’s more, we can get the meaning of the two setup models in the setupact.log:
Legacy setup: it is same with setup from DVD boot.
ConX setup: it would check the compatibility and language UI for upgrade preparation, then perform migration and upgrade directly.

    Hello,
I would guess that existence of a space in the folder name is what the issue is.  Try removing the space from the folder name and see if works. New_Folder for example

  • Windows 8.1, Update 1 upgrade path

Hi, if there is anyone of any influence who might read this, please, please, for you own sakes make an upgrade path directly from Windows 8.0 --> Windows 8.1, Update 1
    I cannot upgrade from W8.0 --> 8.1.
I cannot upgrade due the the following error.  But I believe it is a silly error and can be overcome as some have managed:

I even had a MS 3rd line Andswer Desk (ref:1233447567.) guy who was remote controlling my machine trying clean boot give up after saying that if my
MB manufacturer wont support drivers past Vista then there is nothing they "should" do... But Vista is EoS but not extended support as XP is, that ends 2017:
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/lifecycle
This is an issue I'm having with my personal PC but I also work in IT infrastructure and I think this needs to be sorted. This is going to become a BIG issue for many other people who have Vista/XP-grade systems with the requirements for 8.1.1 who will try
    to upgrade.
    Please can someone help?

    Hi,
Windows 8.1 do have have higher requirements for hardware, If your computer hardeware device was too old, you may encounter some problem during install or using Windows 8.1.

  • Problems Stroking Path with the pencil cs6

I´ve been making pixel art for a while now and recently I upgraded to cs6.
all was fine till I tried to stroke a circular path with the pencil tool.
The Circles it makes are completely uneven. I cant figure out a way to fix this. Help please.
These are the paths i traced in different sizes
this is the stroked path with a 1 x 1 pixel pencil
as you can see the the bottom and right part of the circles is different from the top left. it is more noticeable on smaller circles.
it also happens with bigger stroke sizes.
    this diddn´t happen in cs5.
    I would appreciate any input.

If a path is in precisely the same location in CS5 and CS6 then strokes made with the Pencil will be almost (or possibly actually) identical in both versions. However, CS6 has an added preference to restrict the positioning of paths with respect to the pixel grid and I think that the positioning of your paths is not as you intended. You'd have got reasonably symmetrical Pencil-stroked circles if the N, E, S and W points of the circular paths lay mid-pixel. These points in your example are lying on pixel boundaries, hence the asymmetrical strokes.
To get CS5's free positioning of paths in CS6, disable Preferences > General > Snap Vector Tools and Transforms to Pixel Grid. Then it'll be possible to get in CS6 the result that you got in CS5.

  • EHP2 - EHP7 Upgrade Path using SQL Server 2012/Win Server 2012 R2

    Hi Guys.
I have question regarging Upgrade Roadmap for a ERP 6 EHP2 system based on NW 7.01 which I would like to Upgrade to ERP6 EHP7 SP7
    Source System is
    Windows 2012
    SQL Server 2008 R2
    EHP2 for ERP 6.0 SPS Level 14
    Target System
    Windows 2012
    SQL Server 2012
    EHP7 for ERP 6.0 SP 7 based on NW 7.4 SP 9
During Upgrade checks it says I must Upgrade Database first before continue since DB Release is too low for NW 7.4 SP9 as stated in Note
1951491 - Minimal DB system platform requirements for SAP NetWeaver 7.4 SP08
So, at this point I agree i have to update SQL Server to 2012 before next step
Now, my concern is that my Source System does not have the minimum NW SP level (14) to run under SQL Server 2012 which is 26.
Im currently running SAP Kernel 721 EXT Level 401 which is above mininum
According to Note 1651862 - Release planning for Microsoft SQL Server 2012 that would not be possible
Existing systems of SAP products that are out of SAP maintenance can be upgraded to SQL Server 2012 in order to prepare a SAP upgrade, if they match the SAP NetWeaver Support Package requirements defined below.
SAP products prior to SAP NetWeaver 7.0 are not supported at all on SQL Server 2012.
Required minimum SAP Netweaver Support Package Stacks (SPSs) for SQL Server 2012 (SAP ABAP, SAP ABAP+JAVA stacks)
    SAP NETWEAVER 7.0 - SPS 26 (SAP BASIS 26, SAP BW 28)
SAP EHP1 FOR SAP NETWEAVER 7.0 - SPS 11 (SAP BASIS 11, SAP BW 11)
SAP EHP2 FOR SAP NETWEAVER 7.0 - SPS 11 (SAP BASIS 11, SAP BW 11)
SAP EHP3 FOR SAP NETWEAVER 7.0 - SPS 03 (SAP BASIS 03, SAP BW 03)
    SAP NETWEAVER 7.1 - SPS 14 (SAP BASIS SP14)
    SAP EHP1 FOR SAP NETWEAVER 7.1 EhP1 - SPS 10(SAP BASIS SP10, SAP BW SP10)
SAP NetWeaver 7.2 - no restriction
    SAP NETWEAVER 7.3 - SPS 07 (SAP BASIS 07, SAP BW 07)
SAP EHP1 FOR SAP NETWEAVER 7.3 - SPS 03 (SAP BASIS 03, SAP BW 03)
If your system is running on a SPS lower than the one required above, you have to apply the minimum required SPS before upgrading/migrating to SQL Server 2012.
If you install a NetWeaver product on SQL Server 2012, the required SPS for your product must be applied immediately after the installation - see SAP note 1676665, section I for more information.
But performing the Upgrade would be technically possible? I mean not for productive use but technicaly during that time the Database is Upgrade and during SUM Execution.
According to the note it states if you install a Netweaver Product in SQL Server 2012, SPS must be applied immediately, so is kinda ambigous what SAP is saying.
    Best
    Martin

    Hi Martin,
For a test scenario, there's no harm in trying it (other than spending a lot of time on it, but hopefully that will prove not to be a waste). Generally, I expect you'll be fine upgrading your DBMS even though you aren't on the required minimum SP yet. The main thing you'll be missing out on is the updates to DBACOCKPIT, but once you do your EhP upgrade (with sps update included), you'll be putting that in place.
So, you could try this on your sandbox system and see if there are any problems. I assume the intent is to start the EhP upgrade as soon as the DBMS upgrade is done, right? In other words, you won't be actually using the system without the required SP except to run the EhP upgrade?
Alternatively, you could do a minimal support pack update, perhaps just a Basis SP only, to the minimum SP needed for your current release, then do the DBMS upgrade, then proceed with the EhP upgrade. This would be the safest procedure, but, as I said, I expect you can probably get away without going to this level without much problem. Again, the idea would be minimizing the time between the start and end of the total project on each system (DEV, QAS, PRD, etc).
    Regards,
    Matt

  • Merom / Conroe upgrade path for Intel iMac?

Has anything been released about a processor upgrade path (if possible) to take the Early 2006 IiMacs from the Yonah CPU family to Merom or Conroe?
I'm still steamed to be stuck with a 32-bit CPU (even though it is a good one, funny how that fact is still judiciously left out of all promotional materials) and wondered if I will be left high and dry in 2-3 months when the 64-bit Core 2 Duo chips ship.
It would be nice if there were an upgrade path to bring the early adopter faithful into the 64-bit realm. Anyone heard a mighty rumblin' ?

People have successfully removed the CPU and replaced it. And, the new chips are supposed to be compatible with any Yonah based system.
So, while there is no official upgrade path, it should not be a problem installing a new CPU in the machine later.
Obviously, the heat of the new chips will be a consideration. They may be hotter, they may not be.
And, it will obviously void your warranty.
    But, it should be possible.

  • Upgrade path

we are upgrading from ACS 2.6 to 4.1
should we order the upgrade software (CSACS-4.1-WINUP-K9) or should we order the regular package (CSACS-4.1-WIN-K9)since 2.6 is so out of date?

    Hi Martin,
I agree with Scott (no surprise!) One of my co-workers just went down the upgrade path (albeit from a more recent version) and it was very messy. I'm pretty sure he finally just ditched the whole plan and started fresh.
    Hope this helps!

  • Weblogic Server upgrade along with Forms & Reports

    Hi Gurus,
I would need some help on upgrading one our Weblogic server from 10.3.2 to 10.3.6. Also, we have forms & reports ( version: 11.1.1.2 ) configured on this server and we would have to upgrade this to version: 11.1.2.1
Can you please help me or point me to a good document to do this.
I am a DBA and my weblogic experience is very little.
    Thanks
    Prakash

    Hi Prakash,
First, very smart decision to move to 11gR2 Forms - performance is much better in 11gR2. Customers i've worked with, are very happy with it compared to 11gR1.
Now, if you want to upgrade from 11gR1 (11.1.1.2) to 11gR2 Forms (11.1.2.1), I would do a new install. Simply because, there is no simple/straight-forward Architecture upgrade path from 11gR1 to 11gR2 Forms. And the installation will also be a clean isntall. Don't worry about your forms/reports source code, you can just recompile no problem in 11gR2 Forms.
If you want to do a re-install heres some things to consider:
1.) Update and/or Install an Oracle certified JDK - you can verify the correct JDK in the certification matrix provided by oracle: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/forms/oracle-forms-11gr2certmatrix-519680.xls
2.) Verify your OS is certified with Forms 11gR2
3.)Install WLS in a new middleware Home.
4.) At his point, you should install the Oracle Forms 11gR2 Binaries Home in your new 10.3.6 Middleware Home.
5.) Optional: If you want the same exact ports as 11gR1 Forms installation - you'll have to shutdown all the 11gR1 Forms/Reports processes- OPMN Processes, WLS_FORMS, WLS_REPORTS, AdminServer.
5.) Run the Forms 11gR2 Configuration Wizard to install and configure a new Forms 11gr2 domain.
6.) After the configuration wizard completes successfully:
    - Migrate over your formsweb.cfg/env settings
    - Migrate ORACLE_HOME customizations
    - Definitely install/configure webutil components
    - Migrate over any other additional customizations

  • Bizarre RDP Issue with opening remote program with Visual ERP

So I have two VM's one running SQL server with an ERP program called Visual that has several components and an RDP server that end users log into. We are running windows 2012R2 on both. Everyday around 5:30 the VMFG program for visual stops working until I reboot the RDP server, people already in are fine but anyone trying to open it get the below error. It basically says it can't open the file on the SQL server anymore, yet if I can open the UNC path from the RDP and click on the executable(still crashes with same error), it runs fine locally on the SQL server and other parts of Visual Kios/Time and attendance work fine. I tried removing the anti-virus, checking backups, checking for scheduled tasks, checking event viewer logs, performance monitor, etc and can't seem to figure out this oddity. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated....

    Hi,
As this happens with him specific from MRD MAC check whether he is taking RDP with IP address or hostname. Also try to uncheck the Option "Bypass RD Gateway for local address" under RDSH configuration and verify the result.
Also for more detail he can collect log from MAC side by following path.

    Hope it helps!

  • Hi, I currently have Lightroom 5.6 for MAC and Adobe has launched Lightroom 6 - I am trying to understand if there is an upgrade path for 5.6 users and how much does it cost, if any or is a forklift upgrade i.e. new software all together.  Thanks

Hi, I am a Lightroom user and currently have 5.6 version (DVD Version).  The lightroom 6 version, for existing lightrrom users, is there an upgrade path or it is a new software entirely.  In either cases, what costs are associated.
    Thanks,
    Raj

LR 6 is a new payfor upgrade, $80 in the US if you have the serial-number-licensed LR 5.  If you're already using the CC version of LR+PS then it just comes along as a new app you can install.
It’ll run alongside your LR5 so you can try it out and see if it’s something you want.
The only trial is a LR-6-CC version that you can convert to a serial-number-licensed version if you buy a serial-number.  I think the download in LR 5 when it notifies you of an upgrade is what you can use to try it, although I don’t have personal experience with that seeing as I have the CC version of LR+PS so the CC App provided the Install button for me.
The main issues people are having are for some system configurations performance is worse.  Adobe rewrote it to use the GPU in the Develop module but some people’s video cards aren’t up  to the task, and for some people even turning off the GPU, while speeding things up, doesn’t make it as fast as LR 5.
On my system it seems to work great.
