SRM catalog navigation fails after Microsoft patch KB2416400

After applying Microsoft patch KB2416400, displaying catalogs is failing in IE7 and IE8. Getting the "Navigation to the webpage was canceled"... If you uninstall the patch, it will fix the issue in IE7. I have already reviewed the settings found in OSSN 1511147, which has not solved the issue when the patch is applied. Has anyone else applied this IE security patch and experienced similar results? We are on SRM7.0, SP05 - EP and catalogs both using https. Thanks.

Hi Kris,
we found a solution. Please look in SAP Note 1456162.
The note was written for IE 8, but it looks that the MS patch KB2416400 provides the same security measure also for IE 7.
IE7 does not allow the dynamic rendering of html by the outbound handler after the patch.
Cheers,
Jan

  • Navigation fails after commit

    Hi,
I have built a form in which I have multiple tabs (tab canvas).
Different tabs referring to different blocks.
I am using when-tab-page-changed trigger to navigate from one tab to another using go_item('Block.item').
    This is working fine.
However, the same navigation is failing after update on one of the block i.e. after saving changes to one of the tab.
Is it possible to find why go_item() is failing?
    Thanks,

I have found that an item (in next tab) was related to block used in first tab page. And a mandatory item was located in next tab, which was not visible. That was causing the problem.
I have changed the required property of item in the next tab (in which I was trying to move) this helped to resolve the problem.
    Thanks!!

Also, all the other background jobs are working just fine.
    Pls. help.

    Hello,
Since I'm on SQL, I use DB13 just for Check DB.
I've tried deleting everything & recreating the schedule, but it has'nt helped.
Even after rescheduling, SM37 doesnt reflect the scheduled jobs.
    Thanks,
    Saba.

  • Application shows as failed after being patched by WU.

    Hi,
    I am using SCCM 2012 sp1 cu5 and my clients are running W7 sp1 x64
I have installed Lync 2010 x64 RTM version 4.0.7577.0 to the clients (it also uses a transform to set the lync server name). The installation went fine and sccm client detected the presence of the applicaton (set as by MSI product code and file version number),
and it showed as installed in software center and displayed as detected in the appenforce log.
Then I let windows update (from SCCM) patch lync to bring it up to 4.0.7577.4419 and the app upgrades and shows the correct updated version number and everything works. However when the application evaluation scan runs again, it shows the application
as failed with a Status of 'Past due - Will be retried' in the software center (i.e. the orig deployment of 4.0.7577.0), and the appenforce log shows as this is not now detected. Which makes sense since it has been upgraded, but is there anyway of telling
sccm that it is now an upgraded version so that it will not show as failed, and will stop telling the users that there is a package waiting to be installed?
I did try to add the lync 2010 4419 rollup as a deployment and used the detection as the new MSI product code and file version, and the app had a dependency on the RTM version. This all worked fine and displayed as installed and as detected in appenforce,
until the detection process ran again and it then showed as failed in software center and not detected in appenforce log.
Has anyone else seen this strange detection process for lync 2010 x64? Could it be the transform is trying to repair itself, although I can't see that in any of the logs or on the screen.
I've checked and doubled checked that the product code and file versions are correct, and it does say installed and detected on first installation, so I'm not sure of the process to fix this.
Letting windows update patch is the preferred way to go for me, since there will be updates in the future, but how do I stop it from detecting the original deployment now that it is patched and at a higher version?
    Thanks
    Jaz

I think the easiest way would be to change your detection method to the presence of a file.
I use "communicator.exe" for Lync. That would solve your problem.

  • Hotsync fails after Microsoft update

I am using a Treo 650 (Sprint) and running WinXP Pro with Outlook 2002.  Everything was working just fine until I got a message from Windows indicating that I needed to update Windows for a critical update.  After the update I can no longer get my Treo 650 (Sprint) to connect for a hotsync.  When I plug in the chord windows gives a recognition boop that new hardware have been detected; however, when I press the hotsysc button the hotsync fails indicating that it could not find the connection.
I have downloaded the latest software from Palm and installed it but that did not help.
Any help would be greatly apprecitated...

You will need to do a "clean" uninstall of Palm Desktop. Here are the instructions.
You should first make a copy of your data to have just in case something
happens. You can find your data files by going to C:\Program Files\Palm or
Palm One. Highlight your Palm Desktop username and right click and copy.
Then go to your PC desktop, right click on a blank spot and select paste.
For Palm desktop 6.2, look in the following location for the folders and files, my documents, PalmOS desktop. You will find the username folder in this location.
Now you want to uninstall Palm Desktop and remove everything that has to do
with Palm Desktop from your computer. Like the above folder, delete the Palm folder. Once this is done, you will need to delete some registry keys
from your PC Operating System registry.
Word of warning, going here and deleting the wrong thing can cause your PC
to not start up, crashing and deletion of programs and data. If you feel
you are unsure of yourself, see if you have a friend that can help you or a
PC technician that you can pay to help you. This will show them everything
they need to delete. To retain your current Registry settings, we need to do a backup of the Registry.
On the PC, go to start and run type "regedit" without quotes
Highlight MY COMPUTER, go to File --> export. Should pop up with a Save As
box. Current location is fine should be in My Documents or you can change to a location you will remember. In the file name box, type "Regbackup[todaysdate]" i.e. Regbackup07072008. Next, the hard part.
The easiest way to make sure your working with the correct key, highlight the key i.e. palm quick install, and press delete on your keyboard. It will ask you, are
you sure. Say yes. Do the same thing for all keys below.
If you make a mistake, stop what you are doing. And call a PC technician.
BUT do not turn off your computer.
The reg keys are as follows (Note: some of theses reg keys will not be here
but if they are delete them)
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. Robotics\Palm Quick Install
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. Robotics\PalmOne File Transfer
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. Robotics\Pilot Desktop
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Palm
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Palm, Inc.
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PalmDesktopAutorun
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\palmOne
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PalmSource
    * HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\PalmSource or anything else that says palm
    Next reboot your computer
Then reinstall your Palm desktop from the CD and do a hotsync. If it asks
you for a username and you synced your device before, put in 'test" if you
did not sync before you create a hotsync name.

    Hi,
I think some of the answers are partially correct.
For the full and correct solution you must

  • Adobe Elements catalog backup fails after 3 discs.  Message says something wrong with dvd writer.  I bought an external dvd burner and changed disc brands, still the same results.

Full backup of catalog stops after three discs.  I have changed disc brand and added a new external dvd burner but still get the same results.  What is wrong?

If you have the hard drive space, see if you can complete a back up to the hard drive instead. If that works successfully, it could be a buffer or caching issue with the burner. It could be running out of space because it is not clearing after each disk burn.

  • Instance failed after applying patch

i am learning on ides. i applied patch #10 to my system, some how it failed to apply, now my instance is not starting up , is there any way to undo the patch. thanks for the reply

    Hi,
Usually instance startup is nothing to take with the Patches applied specially in ABAP kind of system. If your Patch implementation is in middle, So you must be getting lots lots of dump...But system should come up in most of cases.
Ok...Now...have you changed something related to Parameters (Memory, DB related or any other parameters)...because parameters change is something very crucial when your system is not coming up?
Please post some more inforrmation so that we can help you out.....Please try to debug step wise...
    1) is DB is coming up?
    2) if yes, please post some relevent info from dev_disp, dev_w0 or dev_ms file or from some other files which are getting updated when you are trying to restart your system.

  • My status change to pass from fail after 40 days. Microsoft Exam 74-409 Score

    Microsoft update 74-409 exam.
My status change to pass from fail after 40 days..
Recived below email. is this possible ?
    Dear Valued Customer,
You recently took Microsoft Exam 74-409: Server Virtualization with Windows Server Hyper-V and System Center. After close evaluation of the exam, we have made some revisions that resulted in a change to your exam results. We are pleased to inform you that your
status has been changed to ‘PASS’. This update will be reflected in your official transcript within two weeks. A new score report will be mailed to you within two weeks.
Thank you for taking this exam and for your support of our program.

Yes its possible, but its also possible that its a scam trying to entice you to provide information that could be used for identity theft.  I would wait a couple weeks and then check your transcript on the MCP site.  If the exam shows then it was
for real.  If it doesn't then it was probably a fake message.
The reason it might be for real could be that someone challenged the clarity of one of the questions in their comments and Microsoft decided after looking into it that some question was misleading.  This might have lead them to accept more than one
answer or to throw the question out.  That could have modified your score in some way and promoted you above the Pass line.  It is possible, but not likely.

  • After recent patch upgrade, BW delta Data loads for 2LIS_02_ITM failing

    Hi All
We have patched our BW 3.5 system from 16 to 25. After updating patches, I am geetting delta load issues.
2lis_02_itm and 2lis_02_scl delta loads are taking long long time. Deltas are failing even for 3000  records . some time it is taking 14 hours .  Delta loads are failing  and I am getting below message. Please advise.
I am still getting below dump and i could not find any errors in
    ST22. Please see below error.
Processing in Warehouse timed out; processing steps mising
    Diagnosis
Processing the request in the BW system is taking a long time and the
processing step Update rules has still not been executed.
    System response
    <DS:DE.RSCALLER>Caller is still missing.
    Procedure
Check in the process overview in the BW system whether processes are
running in the BW system under the background user.
If this is not the case, check the short dump overview in the BW system.
    Thanks
    Pramod

    Hello Pramod,
Is this load is to load to initial level ODS? If Yes I understand that you have issue in loading but not at activation of the ODS?
Normally this kind of issue comes during the activation of ODS.
    1. If you are getting this during the data loads, then try to check loading only to PSA first and then from PSA to target? And check how much time that it's taking as this will help to track the issue whether its present in Source or in BW?
    2. If the load is fine till PSA then try loading the same to ODS and then check whether this issue is present or not?
    3. At the same you need to check the source side the system load and the number of processors which are available?
    4. Did you perform the delta queue draining before the stack upgrade in R/3 or not? Normally as a pre-requisite this needs to be done if not then you will have issues in extracting the data!
    5. Finally this can be avoided by having Initwithout data transfer and then performing the Delta loads. BUt for this need to first extract all the data from Source to BW and then take a down time in R/3 for few min and perform this activity so that the Init Timstamp will be reset properly and the Delta should work fine for you.
Do get back to us with more details.
    Thanks

  • After March Patch Tuesday: Unresolvable Windows 7 Validation errors

I have had a stable Windows 7 Enterprise installation with the initial MAK Product key for a couple years. After the Microsoft Patch Tuesday monthly set for March was applied, the system started complaining with a popup window "You may be a victim of
software counterfeiting".  It had a hyperlink entitled "Go online and resolve now" which resolved to
    http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate/?OSV=6.1.7601.2.00010100.1.0.004.09.1033&LS=3&LegitCheckError=00000052&GenuineInfo=00000000&Channel=0&ErrCode=00000000
This presented a new Internet Explorer window "Validation Status: Action Required" with a hyperlink, 'Validate Now" which resolved to
    http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/downloads/GenerateHTA.aspx?displaylang=en&Error=52&OSV=6.1.7601.2.00010100.1.0.004.09.1033&GenuineInfo=00000000&ls=3&page=avsValidate
It resulted in a popup window asking what I wanted to do with legitcheck.hta
Embedded in its code, it loads some javascript at http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/static/js/CommonFunctions.js"
I saved legitcheck.hta and then ran it, it loaded an Internet Explorer “DownloadValidationSupport” web page which offered two steps, Download then Continue.
The Download link was for WindowsActivationUpdate.exe
I did download WindowsActivationUpdate.exe and run it, but every single time (there were many), after running it, every time if I selected Continue, I always received the messsage:
Please wait for the install to complete and then click Continue or view the Troubleshooting tips
At any time (before, during, after) the above processes, if I went to Control Panel - System, at Windows Activation Windows Activation it always stated:
    Status: Not Available
    Product ID: Not Available
Next I ran the Microsoft Genuine Diagnostics Tool. At the Windows tab it reported:

If I run 'slui.exe 0x2a 0xC004F012' I get the uniformative message popup "An error has occurred .. You can also contact Microsoft (a generic message) ... Details Code: 0xC004F012 Description: The Software Licensing Service reported that the call has
failed because the value for the input key was not found.
    For "fun" I ran
    cscript slmgr.vbs –rilc
but the licensing rebuild made no difference in the Windows 7 validation error
I would like to get the system to actually run a validation check and if necessary require the MAK key. What is the process to eliminate this  bogus "software counterfeiting" state?

Thank you for your time considering this. The problem seems resolved.
I noticed that the path was missing for some Start menu items, the icons were not correct. The system environment variables TMP, TEMP, and windir had been deleted. The Windows Activation errors probably started shrotly after the system environment variable
    were deleted.
After I restored the environment variables to their standard values, I ran WindowsActivationUpdate.exe, it went through the downloading update package, then installing update steps successfully.
With the standard environment parameters reestablished the MGADiag Copy function worked. I noticed then that it included a lot more information than what is displayed in the one popup window, similar in length to some of the other postings here with output
    from MGADiag
In the course of troubleshooting the Activation error before posting here, I had issued the slmgr /rearm command to see if its action in resetting the activation timers would allow me to re-enter the MAK.
When WindowsActivationUpdate completed, then when I went to the Control Panel item for System. I was able to go through the validation process. Now the install is validated again.
Since the March Patch Tuesday set consisted of 12 updates I can't point the finger at any one for being the root of this problem.

    Hi Muddassar,
    Hope you are doing good.
A new note has been released exclusively for this issue. Please see:
note 1937296 - SUM fails at start-shadow-instance-dm step. This is not
an issue with the SCAs and more with the kernel employed.
You will need to make sure that you are on the latest kernel so that
    this can be resolved.
The below links will help you if there are any queries with the
    kernel update procedure

  • SBS 2008 Security report not showing correct status after Feb patch cycle

    Hello,
I wonder if anyone can shed any light on this strange problem which has occurred after February patch cycle. On the SBS detailed report that comes through, the security section is showing as RED error. Though
if you look at the detail, each section is listed as green compliant. Not sure why this has happened? Has anyone else seen this before?
    Many thanks,

    Hi,
Can you provide me the detailed information about the patch you installed before the issue occurred? Have you tried to uninstall the patch and reinstall it again to see if the same issue persists?
In addition, please also try to repair the monitoring and reporting feature to see if it could resolve the issue.
