SRM Functional interview questions

I am a SRM Technical consultant and looking to move to the functional side.
I am aware of the P2P cycle but If im interviewed for the functional role,what are the possible questions I would have to answer?
Which areas do I need to focus...E.g. Configuration??Business process???Procurement cycle???
Any links to get a general idea abt the common terminologies ...business process would be really helpful.

I would advise to go thru SRM course books such as SRM Overview, SRM 210 and SRM 270.
Knowledge in SAP MM is an added advantage.
Apart from these go thru SRM cookbooks eg. config of extended classic scenario by Shaz Khan

Transporting SRM Config

Hi,
If i transport SRM configs from one system to another, is there anyway i can change backend references in target system. Any program/transaction code?

Hi. What I normally do is try and leave target system blank and see if that works. It does for some config and then it can be transported fine because there is nothing tying it to 1 backend system.
For example, the link from product category to G/L account can be configured with no backend system, as long as you configure it before the product categories have been replicated to SRM.
Some config is entirely dependant on backend system though, and even the SRM cookbooks tells you to configure manually in each client by opening the client as part of the initial set up.

SRM 3.0 integration with XI 3.0 for Supplier enablement scenario

Hi,
Iam trying to integrate SRM 3.0 with XI 3.0 for Supplier Enablement Scenario. Can anyone please help me with the documentation for the same? I have downloaded documentation for SRM from service.sap.com/ibc but it contains steps only for XI 2.0.
Does anyone have the steps for XI 3.0?

We are looking to integrate SRM 4.0 with R/3 ( ECC 5.0 ) using XI 3.0. I went to service marketplace to look for XI process content for SRM 4.0 - I could find XI content for SRM 2.0 only.
1) Do you know where SAP pre-delivered XI 3.0 process content can be downloaded from ?
2) Would you be having the cookbooks- possibly for all scenarios for SRM 4.0

Basic questions in SRM for Workflows+need material

Hi All,
I have developed Workflows in SAP R3.I am very new to SRM. I have following questions -
1. What is the use of BADI when we implement Workflow? My understanding till now is to provide all approvers to the
   Shooping Cart.That means for workflows without approval we dont need to BADI to implement.
2. Is there any other concepts more i have to know? Like in R3 Event will be triggered with help of change doc, status mang., LIS exceptions and all through SWEC tx. is it same in R3?
   Sorry to ask very basic questions.
   Can anyone provide me step to step guide to configure SRM workflows and Cookbook for SRM?

Hi,
1.All the n step workflows(where approvers are determined dynamically) in SRM can be implemented only using the BADI "BBP_WFL_APPROV_BADI".the main purpose of this BADI is to fetch the Approvers/agents for the workflow.In addition to the n step WF,you also have no approval, 1 step and 2 step approval workflow in which the agent assignment can be done directly(no BADI reqd) and this is applicable for all types of business objects i.e. Shopping cart,Bid etc.For more details refer the foll link;

2.Work flow concepts are same as in R/3.So techincally you can create your custom workflows in the same way.

Adding custom fields to SRM UI Add-on

Dear SAP Experts,
We enabled SRM UI and followed the SAP provided configuration guide to complete all the required setup's. we are able to create shopping cart using the new UI without any issues.
Now we are trying to enable custom fields on new SRM UI which are currently available on Web dynpro SC UI. we followed the configuration steps (2.1 Extending screens via SPRO configurations) provided in the Extensibility-Customer_CookBook_SP04_1.pdf.
After the configuration is completed, we are able to see the new custom fields on the new UI screen, but we are not seeing the description as expected - the description is shown as VIEWKEY_FieldName_L eventhough we maintained the label text.
And also any data that is entered in the new custom fields are not saved to database and therefore not available in BBP_PD transaction.
Please see the attached screenshot for more details.Please provide your guidance in resolving the issue.

Venkat, We are trying to enhance the UI5 Shopping Cart using Extensibility-Customer_CookBook_SP04_1.pdf but I don't see the fields showing up in UI5 shopping cart and below are the steps that I followed.
I am trying to add Location field in SRMShoppingCartItem (2nd row in below screen shot)
I enhanced the Staging Structure (/SRMNXP/S_CUST_ITEM_LIST) , Customer Include (INCL_EEW_PD_ITEM_CSF_SC) & Cust-MD Structure (/SRMNXP/S_ITEM_UI_MET_CUST) and went to SPRO and did this config for adding fields to UI screen.
SAP Supplier Relationship Management---->SAP SRM User Interface Add-on---->Extension and Field Controls---->Configuration for Extension of Fields
I didn't add column to database and Odata Service Model. My Goal is to show Location Field first on the SRMShoppingCartItem and then want to enhance Database & OdataModel.
Below are the Steps I followed.
1) Enhanced Staging Structure : /SRMNXP/S_CUST_ITEM_LIST
Appended the Component Type : ZCUSTITEMLIST with Field ZLOCATION of Type Char20
2) Enhanced Customer Include INCL_EEW_PD_ITEM_CSF_SC
Appended the Component Type : ZAINCL_EEW_PD_ITEM_CSF_SC with Field ZLOCATION of Type Char20
3) Enhanced Cust-MD Structure /SRMNXP/S_ITEM_UI_MET_CUST
Appended the Component Type : ZITEMUIMETCUST with Field ZLOCATION_V, ZLOCATION_E, ZLOCATION_R of Type XFELD
4) SPRO
SAP Supplier Relationship Management---->SAP SRM User Interface Add-on---->Extension and Field Controls---->Configuration for Extension of Fields
Added this new entry:
But I don't see this Location field showing up in the UI5 Shopping Cart. Please let me know if I am missing any thing in Configuration.

Inbox and POWL not working after installing SRM UI Add-On

Hi,
Currently our SRM system is on 7.02 SP06. Recently we have implemented the SRM UI Add-On component (Version 1.0 SP02). Immediet ly after installing the component SRMNXP, the inbox and POWL screens are not working from portal. Till now we haven't do any configuration as [per the cookbook after installing the SRMNXP component.
This issue is happening immediately after installing the SRMNXP component. The issue we get when we open the inbox is "Assert conditions was violated". Do we need to follow any pre-requesites immedietly after installing the SRMNXP component? Need the experts help.

Unfortunately SAP did not make one for SRM 4.0 but made the scenario configuration guides, then in SRM 5.0 the content was put into the Solution Manager, now also for SRM 6.0.
