Friends,
As I am preparing for the SRM Certification Test, I need some help.
I have the following questions, can someone pl. help me to clear my doubts ?
1. With EBP 3.0, the classic scenario is replaced with the extended classic scenario.
My question : Is it true ?
2. The Business Connector for exchange of data between EBP and the catalog.
What is Business Connector ? Is Business Connector means XI ?
3. The message types and BAPIs that are defined in the distribution model are later
transferred to the back-end in either synchronous or asynchronous fashion,
according to type.
Since the Model's can ONLY be distributed from EPB to back-end and regened in back-end,
I believe the transfer to the back-end happens in asynchronous fashion. Is that true ?
I may come back with more questions, please help me out. .

Just to ellaborate the answers further:
1. apart from classic & extended classic - Decoupled & Standalone are two other tech scenario.
In classic -R/3 is leading system i.e. purchasing docs are created in R/3.
Ex. classic- EBP is leading system i.e.purchasing docs are created in EBP.
Decoupled - Product category(Matl grp) can decide the leading sys.
Standalone - SRM works with SAP/NON SAP FI
My observation is that Classic is more popular scenario because industries like to use
shopping & approving capabilities of SRM with robust purchasing facilities of ECC.
2. Business Connector
A middleware application based on the B2B integration server from webMethods.
The SAP Business Connector enables both bi-directional synchronous communication and asynchronous communication between SAP applications and SAP and non-SAP applications.
The SAP Business Connector makes all SAP functions that are available via BAPIs or IDocs accessible to business partners over the Internet as an XML-based service.
The SAP Business Connector uses the Internet as a communication platform and XML or HTML as the data format. It integrates non-SAP products by using an open, non-proprietary technology.

Hello,
I need to hide or remove the Help link that comes with the standard SRM system. I have found the internet service BBPHELP and template BBPHELP_1000 are related to this link I can edit where the link points to but I need that link to be not available for users.
Any ideas, I would really appreciate your comments and suggestions...

You may try to check in SPRO the following path:
SRM Server=>Technical Basic Settings=>Deactivate User Access to Solution Manager.
there just follow the IMG Activity documentation.

I am on a project that is implementing SRM in May. The company has decided to upload 15 Vendors for Services and to perform the goods receipts in order to achieve a 3 way match. One of the Vendors (Huge Spend) will not get a goods receipt performed as no one wants to perform the goods receipt (this was just decided yesterday). We will create the shopping cart and SRM PO and pay the invoices in R/3. In order to do this we have to enter the shopping cart as a material in order not to have a goods receipt performed in SRM (as I am told). Has anyone ever experienced this? Is there any problems that we, as a company, may not be aware of Is there someone out there that has experienced this or close to this? Please advise. Thanks

Hello Friends,
I have to modify the Help link in the SRM Screen.. There is Help link which will call the SAP Help in the SRM screen. Did any one know how to change that.. i want to call Word document when i click the Help link..

You can store the word document in MIMES folder in se80 and give that path in the internet service BBPHELP and template "BBPHELP_1000" so that when on click of the link for HELP ,the word document is opened.

Adding a checkbox to contracts screen in SRM help
I am not to sure, but my question is can i use bbp_cuf_badi to add a checkbox to the screen and do the validations inside that badi ?

Will this checkbox be used in BBP_DOC_CHECK_BADI, BBP_DOC_CHANGE_BADI and/or the create back-end documents BADIs? If, so then I think adding the field to the appropriate S/C structure should work for you. There are several OSS Notes regarding this....

How to get the values from table SKB1 R/3 to SRM
Hi Gurus,
My requirement is to get all the values from the table SKB1 to SRM (i.e. in to an internal table) for doing some validation(G/L account XXXXXX requires an assignment to a CO objectXXXXXX.)
Like wise I have many tables for doing validation in SRM
Help me how to get this, suggest me any Function module with sample code.
OR
Any Standard FM which will give all the values of the fields in the table SKB1 when I pass the key fields G/L account & company code alone so that I can improve the performance.
Suggest me.

Are you taking care of the Importing paramater - DELIMITER in this case.. ??*

Limit SC Confusion,please Clarify
Hello All,
IN Classic ,SRM 5.0
1.I created a Limit Cart with Option: Confirmation and Invoice selected and it created a PO with Item Category D in backend
and in PO, GR Valuated,GR Based IV and INvoice Receipt is flagged.,this came from Vendor Master in Backend.
2.Again I created a Limit SC with Option : Invoice only selected and it creates a PO with Item Category B in Backend.
But when i look at the PO Created,I see only the Invoice flag is set,I dont see any other flag set and I cannot do a GR,used the same vendor for which the flag is set. I even tried to change the PO but the system dosent allow.
so now,
In the first case,it is true that with D,it is a Service Item and the system is waiting for a service entry sheet in Backend.
But ,In the second case,it created with B,Limit Item,I am expecting a delivery from the Vendor after which I will do a GR for it,but the system dosent allow me..how now?
Please clear my Confusion

Hi SRM tax gurus,
we have vertex as an external system for tax calculation ( for R/3).we are going global with SRM 5.0.( classic scenario). we want to calculate taxes in SRM and the total gross amount should go in approval process. we know that vertex is only valid in us and canada. what is the amount of development needed to achieve this requirement. ( Any kind of interface thats need to be built to meet this req)
can anybody out there throw some light on this issue

Hello everyone,
We have installed CCM components on our ECC6 (700) baseline, and our users are requesting we also install XI and T-Rex as key supporting componets.
T-REX we can live with, but we are reluctant to deploy XI as we are endeavouring to keep our environments and architecture as simple as possible, and had made the decision several months ago to limit our middleware platforms to a single application - webMethods 6.5 with the SAP adaptor.
We are being told that CCM "must" have XI installed, due to the RFC connections that it demands to allow for catalog content to be transformed for upload, when sourced from external parties. I am not convinced of this, and believe there must be a way of "tricking" CCM into not requiring XI to be present?
Does anyone have an idea how this could occur?

On the installation and configuration side of CCM, my BASIS team are advising that CCM is "expecting" to "see" XI, and that it will not give them a green light unless this is installed and configured per the cookbook for CCM/XI/T-Rex integration.
Is there a way of convincing or configuring CCM so that it does not go looking for XI, or, our preferred option, a way of changing the CCM configuration steps so that is can integrate through to webMethods for the XML-based servers you describe?

I'd like to take advantage of the recent increase in the number of promo codes allowed per book by sending some promo copies out to review sites. Is there a listing of sites anywhere of review sites that cater to the iBook format? Some I've been to request Kindle versions, and we have that but the iBook version is so much better (and, of course, it's free to reviewers through the promo code). Any help would be appreciated.

I have read that book.. that's quite good book on SRM module.. and is recommended for better understanding... incase you have less time, that book will help a lot..
Alternatively, otherwise, incase you have enough time and need better understanding, you need to go through the SAP documentation from their offiicial website

Creating a new purchasing group
Hi,
I have created a purchsing group in SAP and now it should reflect in SRM. I dont know how does it happen? do i have to create the purchsing group again in srm or it needs to be mapped in SRM.
If i have to create a new purchasing group in SRM, then please tell me how to create as i am unware of this.

BBP_CHECK_USERS level 2
Hi all,
We changed a position of an employee in transaction ppoma_bbp (drug and drop). We discovered that the users has inconsistencies and after we ran transaction BBP_CHECK_USERS (using level 2) we get a message saying "user cannot be repaired because of open shopping carts"
We have the problem in a production system. We need to know which is the cause of the problem. Does anyone know???
How do we avoid to happen this error in the future ? and How can we solve this issue?

Which SRM version are you using ?
<b>First log out from Shopping cart for this user and see incase there are no active users except you in the system using SM04 transaction.</b>
In users_gen transaction, you have option to repair the user.
<u>If you are in SRM 4.0, please use transaction BBP_CHECK_USERS and correct the user using the repair level 2. If you still cannot follow, let me know and i can guide your further !</u>
