SRM MDM 3.0 BMECAT Repository Schema

Hello at all,
I have currently run the SRM-MDM 3.0 with the standard respository delivered as archive on the install CD. I still have created some data with the data manager and it runs all very well.
Now I want to import a catalog based on BMECat 1.2 standard. I Have the complex catalog data XML from the vendor Bechtle and the images folder for the articles.
When running the Import Manager there are many fields and tables in the source xml that do not excist in the destination hierachy (repository).
My question is how do I create a repository based on the BMECat 1.2 standard to import the vendor catalog xml ?
What I still tryed was. Creating a new repository. It's empty except of the standard table like Admin, Images, Products etc.
Than go to Transport -> Import Repository Schema -> choose the vendor XML
That doesn' work. I get the Error Message: "There are problems with the transport (XML) which prevent it from being processed"
I have learned that an XML schema data is described with the ending .xsd but when I try to import the databrowser looks for .xml endings.
Could someone please advice what's I have done wrong?
Thanks a lot.
Rico

Hi Rico,
I am not aware of BMEcat standard but in MDM terms you can take the backup of repository in two forms:
1. Archive/UnArchive -> If you want to move the repository from one MDM server to another i.e. from dev to QA then you can Archive the repository which creates the .a2a file and place the file in the Archives folder of MDM Server installation directory which can then be copied and moved to Archives folder of target MDM server and you can UnArchive it on that MDM server.
Archive = Repository Schema + Data
2. Export / Import Repository Schema -> With this method you can export the schema of the repository and create the new repository on some other MDM Server using Create Repository from Schema command. When you perform the export repository schema command, it will ask for the file name and path. You can then copy this schema file and place in the file system of another server.
Export / Import Repository schema = Repository Schema only

  • Message is not going to XI in SRM- MDM scenario

    hello,
    We are doing SRM_MDM scenario.
We have installed SRM-MDM Catalog 2.0 Business Contents on XI.
But i couldn't see any Outbound Interface in these standard contents.
I want xsd for CatalogPublicationRequest_Out.............. where will i get that (transaction) ???
Also when i execute the Report ROS_SUPPLIER_SEND_TO_CATALOG in SRM, I could see my message( CatalogPublicationRequest_Out ) in SXMB_MONI of SRM.
But its not going to XI...............I can't see it in SXMB_MONI of XI.
That message in MONI of SRM have Sender but Receiver field is blank.
May be because of this is it not going to XI.
Please tell me the steps that i need to follow.
Help will be highly appreciated.............. its urgent
    Thanks in advance
    Maheshwari.

    Hi Hi Maheshwari,
Sap has shipped the preconfigured proxies for the transaction.
    ROS_SUPPLIER_SEND_TO_CATALOG.
you can get the complete business Pack and related docs for SRM_MDM Catalog on the Service market place.
you need to Import of PI Business Content for SRM-MDM Catalog in Integration Repository
For that Place PI content file (XI_7_0_SRM_MDM_CATALOG_1.0_00_00.tpz) in directory “/usr/SAP/xid/sys/global/xi/repository_server/import”. This Content file can be found in Business content Import of PI Business Content for SRM-MDM Catalog in Integration Repository.
But first before importing above file.
You have to configure SLD Connections in which:
1.Defining Technical System for SRM Server, MDM and SAP PI.
2.Creating Business systems for SRM, PI and MDM
u also need to do Configuring Setup for ABAP Proxies:
    1. use Transaction SM59 for creating RFC destination for HTTP( TYPE H) where u Specify Host Name of the PI server, Service Number and Path Prefix  in Technical Settings tab.
    2. u also need to configure SRM System as Local Integration Engine. For this enter transaction SXMB_ADM .
    HOPE IT WORKS,
    Thanks,

  • SRM MDM, Error, "Table with Code 'null' does not exist in repository"

    Hi experts,
We has SRM MDM scenario, while doing OCI settings, we are able to connect with MDM repository but getting follwoing error message in portal, "java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Table with Code 'null' does not exist in the repository 'Repository' or is one of the system table (e.g. Workflows) that is not exposed in repository schema"
    Can You please suggest,
    Thanks and Regards,
    Munish

    Hi everyone,
Sudhanshu and Anshuk:- Thanks for your response, let me try and explain the real scenario in details:-
We have deployed the SRM-MDM Catalog Search UI in Portal.
    We tried accessing the http://<Portal Host>:<Portal Port>/SRM-MDM/SRM_MDM
Then we got a screen (Search UI App screen), where in we have provided the MDM Server name, then the MDM Server Password, then presses the Connect button, then below this, it displayed the Repository name created in the MDM. We have selected the Repository, then provided the Credentials of a User (Name: T_CORP) in MDM which has "Catalog Manager", and the "UI Configuration Manager" Roles. Please note that these Role names were created by us in MDM. Is it the right procedure or do we have any standard Roles delivered by SAP in MDM to map? If any standard Roles are available, where we need to check these.
Once the Credentials of MDM User is provided, and then selected the "Login" button.
Then we are getting the below error.
"java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Table with Code 'null' does not exist in the repository 'Repository' or is one of the system table (e.g. Workflows) that is not exposed in repository schema"
Please clarify; we are not configuring any values in iViews. Where we need to do this, I mean name of the iView, and what values do we need provide generally? We are just running the Search UI App application; I don't think it is an iView, because the URL shows the Application name details, etc...
Please guide us, how to fix this Error.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Munish

  • MDM 7.1.4 SP4 don't Export Repository Schema

    Hi,
    I am using SRM-MDM Catalog3.0 ,  MDM 7.1 SP04 , in console ,  to operate  Export Repository Schema failed.
    MDS log:
Could not transport expression because it contained a non-transportable element: 'Item Status [Approved]'
Assignment Code='Set_Status_Code13' of Table Code='MDMSRM_CATALOG_ITEMS' requires additional steps before transport.
    how to solve?
    thanks in advance
    Jesse

    Hi Jesse,
    Please refer SAP Note: 1385073:
In the Note>Navigate to General>Note the following
    1. A code field was added for Validations and Assignments. All repositories must undergo verify/repair before loading for
the first time in MDM 7.1 SP04 so that the added codes for Validations and Assignments are implemented.
    2. Validations and assignments from previous versions that contain lookup values will need modifying before the repository schema can be transported as the lookup values in expressions will now internally include the lookup table ID in addition to the value itself. This change was made to ensure that expressions with lookup values are transported correctly.
In order to modify these expressions you will need to load the repository and delete all the referenced lookup values from
each expression and then add them back into the expressions. If you try to transport the repository schema before modifying
the expressions, you will receive a transport error and a message will be generated in the MDS.log stating the assignments or validations that need to be updated.

  • SRM-MDM - procedure for archiving/unarchiving a repository

Can anyone point me to a system admin guide for SRM-MDM?  I'm getting the error: "Error: 0xffaa0202, Invalid password during stopmdm"  when I try to stop the system and I cant find an admin guide.
Here are the details of my problem:
We are running SRM-MDM 5.5 in Oracle and HP/UX in our landscape.  I've archived our production repository and copied it over to the development system where I unarchived it.   I set the password in the console so I can now connect and load the new repository in development.  However when I try to stop the system by running the stop script, I get the error "Error: 0xffaa0202, Invalid password during stopmdm"
SAP support tells me I have to set the password in the "m000", "z000" (and similar) and A2i_Xcat_dbs schemas, but where is this password set?  I cant find any reference to a password setting in the DB schemas.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Folks,
I am currently configuring SRM MDM catalog, and one of the initial steps is to replicate data from SRM to the repository.

    Hello Priti,
For accessing the catalog, you have to define the external webservice with the config parameters in SRM System under transaction "SPRO"
Please refer the SRM-MDM Catalog configuration guide.
    Hope this will help you.

  • 2 Hierarchy Schemas in SRM-MDM Catalog

    Hi,
I try to find out how to server two hierarchy schemas in SRM-MDM. Your suppliers even deliver catalogs in eClass or UNSPSC classification. In search UI I need now both in the search. So I built up two tables eclass513 and unspsc as hierarchy tables in MDM and filled them with the relevant data. In customizing of the search UI I do only see "Hierarchy" and "Category" as selection. How can I see my own hierarchy tables there?
    Best regards
    Roman

    Hi Roman,
Please refer the OCI field mapping section in the config guide of SRM-MDM Catalog. I think you have to do OCI mapping with the MDM field via config UI.
when you login into config UI, there you can find the options "Shoppin Cart" and "shopping cart preview". Go with first option and click on OCI mapping.you will find the window for the OCI mapping with the MDM field.
then you can see the 2 hierarchy in the catalog.
I am not sure but might be possible.
    hope this will help you.

  • SRM-MDM Catalog Repository

    Hi MDM developpers,
I would like to know if SAP deliver or have a plan to deliver a <b>standard</b> SRM-MDM repository?
    Kind regards,

    Hi Akilu,
Since the availability of the SRM-MDM Catalog (September 2006) a SRM specific repository is delivered already.

  • SRM MDM Catalog - one repository for service, one for goods?

    Hi,
We are installing SRM MDM 2.0 Catalog and we will use catalog for finding both service and goods items. In one view only services should be displayed and in the other - only goods. Should I then create 2 catalogs (2 repositories) or should I simply use masks and/or namedsearch? If I choose using masks/namedsearches - how do I easiest divide between services and goods?
    Thank you,
    Christina Claughton-Wallin

    Hi Christina,
You can just one repository and create namedsearches for service or non-service items. This is relatively simple to setup by filtering items which are marked service and adding them to your defined named search.
    Cheers,
    Foh

  • MDM - Import Repository schema

    Hi all,
Have any one tried "Import Repository Schema" operation in MDM Console ?
I want know the purpose and how this works.
Please provide me the materails if you have any.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi ArunParbhu,
We perform "Import Repository schema"  in order to import i.e. define schema of the repository. We can import repository schema using an MDM schema file. For this operation ,the repository must be unloaded."Import repository schema" operation will create new tables and fields in the repository.
U can get more details about how to import repository schema from console reference guide available at service market place. It is very well explained after page 210  onwards.
    Hope it will help u.

  • SRM-MDM catalog 3.0 - Installation Process

    Hi All,
I'm in the process of installing SRM-MDM catalog 3.0 but I'm not sure about the correct installation process.
The SRM-MDM catalog 3.0 installation guide indicates that the following instances are mandatory for SRM-MDM Catalog system:
1- Java system with the central instance, the central services instance, the database instance
2- MDM Server, and MDM Import Server
We have covered the first point by installing an SRM 7.0 JAVA system. Regarding the second requirement, I have some doubts in the way it should be completed. What we did so far was to install the SRM-MDM catalog 3.0 from the MDM 7.1 installation master. So, we now have two MDM server instances: MDS and MDIS.
I'm stuck now. I'm not sure on how to connect my SR-MDM system to the JAVA DB (created in step 1) to create a new MDM schema within it. This makes me wonder if I've followed the correct process. Could you please clarify and explain which steps should be performed to get my SRM-MDM system up and running? Actually my main concern is..Should I first install a MDM system as it's described in MDM IG, and after that perform the installation of the SRM-MDM catalog as I've already done in step 2?
Hope being clear enough I'll wait for your suggestions.
    Thanks and regards

    Hi Diego.
The Installation Note Number for SRM-MDM Catalog 3.0 is : 1177779. The recommended steps would be to follow how the Installation Guide recommends you to do so.
But still your assumption is correct. MDM landscapes and Java landscapes are both different set of categories to be installed to make the Catalog scenario to be successfull.
Step 1:  Make sure you have the back end database server(SQL/Oracle/???) is installed.
Step 2:  Make sure all the MDM components(MDS, MDIS, etc) is installed.
Step 3:  Make sure Java WebAS is installed correctly.
Step 4:  Now deploy the Catalog SCA and MDM Connector deployed in the Java WebAS.
Step 5: You can unarchive and load the repository.
Step 6:  Try to launch the catalog using the URL provided to check and make sure if the connection is fine.
Also what Masa has mentioned is the communication path how the whole process is achieved technically and that doesn't mean that it has to be in the same order which he has mentioned. The below sequence is just an path to describe how the communication is achieved technically.
User -> Browser(Search UI deployed on AS Java) -> (Java API on AS Java) -> MDM Server -> MDM Repository -> DB
Relating Masa's path with the above steps
    User ->
Browser(Search UI deployed on AS Java) -> Step 3 and 4
(Java API on AS Java) -> Step 3 and 4
    MDM Server -> Step 2
    MDM Repository -> Step5
    DB-> Step 1
    Hope this helps.

  • Best Practice transport procedure for SRM-MDM Catalogue repositories change

    Hi,
I have a question regarding SRM-MDM Catalogue repository change transports.
We currently have two QA servers and to Production servers (main and fail-over).
We are investigating the need of a Development server.
Changes are being made to the repositories on the system, and I see the need of a dev server.
What is best practice for SRM-MDM Catalogue?
With only QA and Prod environments I guess Repository schema transport is the best option, since there has not been created a Refference file (which is needed for change file transport).
    Any other options?
We are running MDM as well, with dev, QA and prod environments. Here we use CTS+ for transports.
Is it best practice to use CTS+ also for SRM-MDM Catalogue transports?
    KR,
    Thomas

    Hi Thomas.
What is best practice for SRM-MDM Catalogue?
SAP recommends to have the landscape model like DEV-QA-PROD.
So in case of catalog as well if we follow the same technique it will help you to have a successful implementation
    Any other options?
As a part of proceeding with the CTS+ you need to create a reference file
Refer the Link: [CTS+|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/d0dd1ae0-36e5-2b10-f8b4-e6365e643c0b?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true] for more details
Is it best practice to use CTS+ also for SRM-MDM Catalogue transports?
It is upto the requirement. if you feel there are many changes in catalog xml schema in various phases in an automatic manner then you can go ahead with CTS+ or you can perform the existing method of exporting and importing the schema to the repository.
    Hope it helps.

  • SRM-MDM Catalog Installation/Landscape

    Hi,
We are currently having the following landscape in place with regards to the SRM, MDM and SRM-MDM Catalog :
    Server 1 :  SRM 5.0 Running   (HP-UX)
Server 2:   Enterprise Portal running with MDM Content and SRM-MDM Catalog JAVA components  (HP-UX)
Server 3:   Standard MDM Server installation  (Windows 2K)
We have configured everything according to the notes and guides (including the guide from Sudhendu Pandey), but when we try to configure the Search UI in Webdynrpo, the java components cannot connect to the MDM host and we are getting just the connection failed error.
    My questions are :
    1)   Can we run with the above landscape or is it necessary to have the SRM-MDM Catalog Java components installed on the same server as MDM.
    2)   Do we have problems with versioning of the MDM server and the SRM-MDM java components ? We already replaced the MDM_JAVA_API with the correct one, but I do not have a newer version of the other api.
    3)   Do I need to configure anything on the MDM server to get this running ?
Thanks in advance for your help
    Regards
    Raymond

    Hi Foh,
Apologies for my late reply, but I was travelling.  Thanks for this tip. We were using the latest versions for the MDM Portal Content, but the API for the SRM-MDM catalog was different.
I have updated this API with the latest version (Patch 3 HF 1) and now I can logon to the MDM server and I see the MDM Repositories. However if I now try to logon to one of the repositories he gives me the same error that the Login has Failed. The user that I am using is the default one coming with the SRM-MDM repository (Admin).

As you have already installed Java stack then it will be your EP. You don't need PI for SRM MDM.

The DBMS Server property defines the network identification string of the DBMS instance / machine / server that is used by the DBMSspecific client on the MDM Server machine to connect to the DBMS. The brand of DBMS on which the repository is running is shown in the DBMS Type property.
NOTE ►► When you mount two MDM repositories with the same name (but located on different DBMS Servers) on the same MDM Server, MDM distinguishes them in the Console Hierarchy pane by appending the name of the DBMS Server in angular brackets to the repository name (e.g. u201Crepository <server>u201D).
