SRM Public Sector Tendering Process

Hi Experts
Have a question.
In SRM 7 Public Sector Procurement (PPS) scenario, I publish the bid against which the bidders provide with their Technical Response. I publish the bid as 'Public Bid'.
Question 1: How will the bidders log in to the portal to submit their bids? Would it be with a common ID that would be used by all the bidders to log in to the portal to submit their bids?
Question 2: If the bidders log in to the portal via common ID, how would CFolders create a separate folder for each bidder to attach their document.
Question 3: Currently I am also not able to open the bid from the bidder side. When I click on the Bid Invitation document link, no action happens. Am I missing some roles?
Any advise on the above queries would be highly appreciated.
Regards
Manoj

Hi,
Question 1: How will the bidders log in to the portal to submit their bids? Would it be with a common ID that would be used by all the bidders to log in to the portal to submit their bids?
Ans: Each Bidder should have seperate user id & pwd
Question 2: If the bidders log in to the portal via common ID, how would CFolders create a separate folder for each bidder to attach their document.
Ans: CFolders directly link with individual user ids.
Question 3: Currently I am also not able to open the bid from the bidder side. When I click on the Bid Invitation document link, no action happens. Am I missing some roles?
Ans: Following role is must in EBP : SAP_EC_BBP_BIDDER in Portal : com.sap.pct.srm.core.ro_supplier & com.sap.pct.srm.gp.ro_bidder

  • What are the minimum SAP processes for public sector ?.

    Dear  Expert
I would understand that SAP Public Sector - Business Process has the following key:
    Shared Services
    Human Capital Management
    Government Purchases
Formulation of Public Sector Accounting and Budget
    Social Services
    Social Security
    Government Programs
    Tax and Revenue Management
    Public Safety
    Organizational Management
    Organizational Support
For an implementation in SAP Public Sector, I found  several solutions are:
    - Solutions - SAP Business Suite
    - Software SAP Customer Relationship Management
    - Software ERP SAP
    - SAP Product Lifecycle Management
    - SAP Supply Chain Management
    - SAP Supplier Relationship Management
If we select SAP ERP Software. From the above processes. ¿Is it correct to have at least the formulation of Public Sector Accounting and implemented budget? or ¿Is it OK to implement all processes for the public sector? I'm  very confusing ...
Please,  could you explain SAP Procurement public sector solutions? or do you have a link on this advice?
    All recommendations are welcome.
Thank you very much for your support and recommendations

  • Project template-List boxes(Public sector,Work in Process,Template)

    Project template-List boxes(Public sector,Work in Process,Template)
What is the functionality of these 3 list boxes???plzzzzzzzzzzz help?? if at all i enable where i can get find it in the reporting??which reports??
Once the project is created can v define that project as template???Y template list box enabled even at that stage???
Plz help me to know the functionality....thanks a lot n advance...

    Hi
You may enable an existing project as a template. Doing so will allow you to create new projects from that template.
Public Sector is an attribute of a project you may use when you set the Auto Accounting rules. This is useful if you need to account differently for projects executed for the public sector versus projects executed for commercial companies or individuals.
Workflow in process checkbox is flagged if you enable the workflow for project status changes. In such case, when you want to change the status the workflow will be fired and until the new project status is approved you will bee that the project is waiting for the workflow processing to complete.

  • SRM 7.0 for Public Sector integrated with FM (Budget Control System)

    Hello!
I'm starting an implementation project of ERP 6.0 and SRM 7.0 for Public Sector.
It would be necesary the integration not only SRM with ERP but with FM (Fund Management), with BCS (Budget Control System) specifically.
Is it possible? has anyone experience on it?
Thks so much in advance and best regards!
    Marcela.-

    Hi,
Certainly... If you have FM implemented in your project, you will have to make integration with SRM.
I did it some 3 years ago and it was quite problematic (a lot of notes were created by SAP on this matter, also as initiative from our project), but since then, I assume, it should not pose specific problems.

  • SAP Procurement for Public Sector package

    Hi All,
does anyone have any useful info on what is actually included in the SAP Procurement for Public Sector package?
I've read the solution brief which is really general and doens't actually give any details.
What I'm after is to know which components of SRM are actually included in this licensing package?
    Thanks
    Chris

    Hi Chris,
I'm part of the IBU for Public Sector, specializing in the SAP PPS Package.
    HIGH-LEVEL PACKAGE CONTENTS (a.k.a. BOM):
    - SAP SRM (current GA release based on 5.0; Q4 08 planned release is based on 7.0)
    - SAP Document Builder (current GA release v 2.0; Q4 08 planned release has v 3.0)
    - SAP NW Records Management/Case Management (rights to use for any procurement scenarios - HR, FI, other uses require additional licenses)
    - Enhancements to these components and SAP ERP 2005 that are known in the technical component list as Government Procurement 1.0 (in the current GA release) or Government Procurement 7.0 (in the Q4 08 release).
    COMPONENT EXPLANATIONS:
    - When we say "SAP SRM", generally we mean "the combined package of engines that were formerly sold as single components", including Strategic Sourcing, Bidding Engine, Auctions, MDM Catalog (only - not all MDM is included), etc.  Legally, I cannot say "all SRM components" because the list may be changed periodically, but I cannot think of a particular exception either.
    - SAP Document Builder is currently not sold separately.
    - SAP NetWeaver Records and Case Management are not the ones used in CRM - these are the standard delivered apps for Records and Case Management with SAP, used to accomplish several PPS scenarios.
    CLARIFICATIONS:
NOTE1: product PPS should NOT be referred to as "SAP Government Procurement", which is a retired product name. The term "Government Procurement" today only refers to the technical set of enhancements, and is an internal convention within SAP, so you won't see it referred to normally.
NOTE2: eSourcing is not the same as SRM. eSourcing is not part of PPS, and is not part of the license for PPS.  We do not recommend a customer to buy both eSourcing and PPS, since they address different needs and pains. e.g., PPS should be considered when integration with ERP is important.
NOTE3: ERP 6.0 is required for PPS customers, but SRM 'core' does not have that dependency.  It's too long to explain here, but suffice to say you wouldn't expect to be able to run an XBOX game on your 1986 Nintendo console.  We cannot run most new PPS functionality on older ERP releases for much of the same reason: we have been building new functionality as quickly as NetWeaver gave us the tools to do so.  If this stuff were easy it've been done by now - by SAP and our competitors.
However, rest assured ERP PRs (and SOs) can still start the process as well as SRM Shopping Carts and POs are replicated to ERP so follow-on GR/IR can be done in ERP.
Enhancements have been made to ERP 6.0 as well, including in the base release, and in EhP 3 and EhP 4 of ERP 6.0, which will be important with the Q4 08 PPS planned release, to enable signifcant new complex line item and pricing functionality and other features. And again - you can run Classic + Extended Classic using the Ext Classic BADI.
NOTE4: ERP 6.0 is not part of the PPS BOM and no ERP 6.0 rights are included.  Customers must have Business Suite or other ERP user licenses in conjunction.
NOTE5: Customers with SRM licenses today may convert their license to PPS. This is done on a case-by-case basis, so SRM customers in Public Sector are not required to migrate or convert - contact your SAP AE for details if you need more information.
For more information, you can contact me at: FirstnamedotlastnameatSAPdotcom.
Rules prohibit me from typing the address into the answer, but I am the Field Services contact for partners in the Americas for this product so it's appropriate in this case to contact me directly.

  • Procurement to public sector

    Hi,
I'm going to implement SRM in a public company and I would like to know if I had to implement an addon onto SRM to get an specify public business scenario.
Need I something 'out' for SRM?
    thanks

    Hi David,
you may want to consider implementing industry solution Procurement for Public Sector, also known as "Government Procurement". This solution is mostly an enhancement of SAP SRM, providing for integration with funds management of ERP, and for automatic capturing and filing of the procurement document, procurement file closing procedures,  workload management, mass change operations on contracts, purchase orders, and RFx, mass novations on contracts, post-award processes, the creation of RFx, contract and purchase order documents that contain complex terms and conditions according to regulation, featuring SAP Document Builder and integrating with SAP Records- and Case Management.
Please have a look at the [public sector solution map |http://www.sap.com/industries/publicsector/businessmaps.epx] and get in contact with a field service contact.

  • Http 404 error while opening Siebel Public Sector Web Client

    Hello Experts
I recently migrated to siebel web client and tools 8.2.2 from 8.2. However the issue that i have been facing now is that when i open my client i get HTTP 404 Not Found- The Web Page cannot be found.
Things that i have done to configure:
    1. Enabled ActiveX settings-Settings as given in http://www.siebeloracle.com/accessing-oracle-siebel-8-1-using-windows-7-ie8-works-on-32-bit-os/
    2. EnableFQDN: FALSE, FQDN: Commented.
    3. My ODBC and public sector cfg have been configured as per need.
Strangely what i have encountered is that: sometimes of 1 out 30 trials, when my client opens up [P(opening client)->0 i.e. Probability is close to 0] the port number is 8081 whereas in other instances it is 8080 which i guess is by default.
    URL: http://localhost:8080/start.swe
I have tried reinstalling the client but still i face the same issue.
Kindly help me out with this issue.
    Regards
    KT

    Hi,
I see that its not a problem with the installation but some problem with the port 8080. I feel some other application is running by default on that port. So, everytime whenever I have to launch Siebel Web client, I have to launch 2 instances. (8080 and 8081). So, the instance which launches on port 8081 + works fine.
I see this process to be time consuming as I have to wait for 2 instances to open up. Hence, is there any way to define the default launch of the port when the client opens up?
    Thanks and Regards
    KT

  • Security deposit or earnest deposit money in tendering process

    Dear Experts,
Our client is planning to use two envelope bidding process along with tender fee and earnest deposit money/security deposit fee. They are going for SRM 7.01 along with ECC6.0 Ehp5. I get to know that along with SRM7 ehp1, SAP has retrofitted two envelope bidding process into standard SAP SRM.
Does it support tender fee and earnest deposit money in the two envelope bidding process in the stabndard SAP SRM 7.01 or the client has to go for SAP PPS for using the two different fee submission by vendors?
    Thanks and regards,
    Ranjan

    Hi,
Yes, SRM 7.01 could suppot the both Security deposit and earnest deposit money in tendering process,
So that, no need to go for PPS
Plz refer below link for detailed process under config guide for SRM 7.0 EHP1

  • Public Sector Procurement - Origin Acceptance?

My client is a government agency.  In the procurement process they have described a process of providing acceptance of goods at the suppliers plant prior to the delivery and receipt at the ordering plant.
I have searched for functionality to meet this requirement and have found a single reference to "Origin Acceptance" as a process in the area Public Sector -> Government Procurement -> Operational Procurement -> Origin Acceptance.
