online web application we have already developed.
We have developed an online application for a client that
allows them to select a range of products from their own range and
those of their competitors. Once a selection of upto 5 products
have been selected a list of criteria can be used (upto 5) in order

The client would like a desktop application for their mobile

if you're looking for examples how SAP colleagues have answered RFPs I guess you better ask internally.
However, if you are wondering whether somebody in the community has used RFP templates and is willing to share these, BPX is the right way to go - but then you should address the community and not only colleagues.

Suggestions Request for Proposed Project

I'm after suggestions for the best way to implement a project I'm planning. I download bank statement details as .CSV files which include date, amount and description details per transaction. I want to be able to produce time period (eg, year and month) reports on transaction amounts by category, where a category is identified by the description field of the TX. For example, if a TX description field includes the string "BP", "SHELL" or "CALTEX", the category would be "FUEL". The object of this exercise is to be able to report expendature by category. There will be thousands of TX's, but only a small number of categories, say, 20.
From my research to date, it looks like Oracle OLAP (because of the flexibility of it's cube and dimension constructs) might be the tool to use for this project, but I can't find introductory examples on using OLAP for this purpose. I have Oracle 11g server and client installations on a couple of Linux Fedora 10 boxes, and a server database with the OLAP component installed. From my client, I can start Oracle 11g Analytic Workspace Manager and add my server database to the tree. SQL Developer is also configured to connect to my server database. I also have a bunch of python modules which I have written to load TX data from downloaded .CSV files into server database tables.
Can anyone assist an Oracle developer newbie (with many years of Oracle DBA experience) with suggestions on the way forward, or pointers to doco that will assist me? Is OLAP/AWM the appropriate tool for this project, or is some other approach going to be simpler?

It sounds like your data is dimensional, has hierarchies and you have the need for aggregate level analysis and time series calculations. If so, the OLAP Option is probably a good choice. A few thoughts for you:
- Data is loaded into a cube from tables or views (you will need to load data from the csv files into tables. It soulds like you will need at least two dimension tables (category and time) and a fact table. (If aren't familar with dimension and fact tables, Google 'dimension table', 'fact table' and 'star schema'. You will find plenty of information.)
- If you are only analyzing data at the category level, don't bother to load TX detail into the cube. You can aggregate data in a view or you can map the cube to the source tables in such a way that the cube will aggregate while it's loading from the fact table.
- Analytic Workspace Manager (AWM) is the correct tool for designing and managing cubes.
- There are lots of examples and tutorials on the OLAP Option OTN page. http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/bi/olap/index.html . You might want to start with the overview and creating cubes videos.
- You don't mention what you are going to use for a query tool. Excel 2007 with the Simba MDX provider is a good choice. (There is a video on the OTN page about using Excel with the cube. See http://www.simba.com/MDX-Provider-for-Oracle-OLAP.htm for information about the MDX provider.) If you happen to be using Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition, be sure to get the OBIEE Plug-in for AWM. It's on the OLAP OTN page.

It sounds like what you are trying to do is edit the choices in a likert field to something other than the default radio button. This is not something that you can do in Formscentral at this time.

Hi Praveen,
No need to create a new inbound interface for posting the RFQ in SRM. You can use the SAP predefined inbound interface "RequestForQuotationResponse_CreateOrChange_In" present in the name space "http://sap.com/xi/EBP". Also it will have a corresponding proxy in SRM side which will call a stard function module.
All you need to do here is create DT, MT, MI required for source and do the mapping.

BBPSC18 - Request for external staff - Classic Scenario in SRM 5.0 possible

Hello Community,
one of my customers wants to use "Reqest for External Staff". As far as I remember, in SRM 5.0 it is only possible in "Standalone Scenario".
Is this assumption correct? So not possible in Classic Scenario?
How about "Extended Classic"? Probably not possible either, right?

Actually I am only looking into the part "Request for External Staff" - "Acceppt Bid" - "Create PO (Classic in ERP)".
I have seen that this part works in SRM 7.01.
But currently we are not planning to upgrade. We are still on 5.0.
I tested the abovementioned process in our DEV-System. I behaves fine, no error messages. But when I want to create the PO out of the "Check Status" (yes, in SRM 5.0 this was possible), the system pretends to create a PO but it never gets created. So I just wonder if I missed some customizing, or if this also only works in Standalone or if there maybe is a smart technical workaround (some custom coding etc...).

Request For Enhancement: Add method mouseIn() to JComponent

I would like to propose that a new method be added to JComponent. This method would return boolean true if the mouse is currently over the JComponent and false if not. Method signature: public boolean mouseIn().
This method would make it easier to accomplish visual feedback for when the mouse is over any JComponent, similar to how rollover can be done for AbstractButton.
Currently, the best method I can come up with is to add a MouseListener that records the state from the mouseEntered() and mouseExited() events. I add my own method mouseIn() that returns that state. Then method paintComponent() can check this state by calling mouseIn() and paint the component accordingly.
At first I thought the MouseListener should be added in each and every constructor of each and every JComponent, but then realized actually, the place to provide this feedback is in the ComponentUI class for each JComponent, as part of a custom Look & Feel. What I have come up with is to add the MouseListener to the JComponent in the ComponentUI's createUI() method, recording the state in the ComponentUI instance. The problem with this is, it makes it impossible for the ComponentUI to be a singleton like most of the ComponentUI classes are for the standard L&F's. This requires that each JComponent instance have its own ComponentUI instance.
If JComponent had this proposed mouseIn() method, the ComponentUI methods could simply call this method, and the ComponentUI would not have to record JComponent-instance-specific state. There would not be a need for so many instances of ComponentUI and MouseListener.

imho this request for enhancement is much better than your other onces. In fact monitoring this state is more than just using mouseEntered(..) and mouseExited(...) - if there is a method, it must return a valid state - if mouse has entered and you make the component invisible, mouse does not exit before that takes place - if you open another application which covers this component, mouse does also not exit before, but the component stays visible - you see, there are much more things to control, to get a valid state at any time. And mouseIn() is an ugly name and says less - why not isMouseOver() or something like this?
Another thing is, why do you request this for JComponent?- Should java.awt.Component not get this feature in your opinion?

SRM-SUS for Service Entry Sheets - Classic Scenario

Hi SRM Gurus,
Our client wants to use SRM-SUS for the Service Entry Sheets (to being with and then later expand more in other SRM areas). The lead system will be R/3 system.
We will be going with ECC 6.0 and SRM 5.0.
Service Order will be created in R/3 and replicated into SRM (SAP have said this is new functionality in SRM 2007 and SAP will provide us with this functionality in SRM 5.0 as well)
SAP are also recommending using MDM for hosting the catalogs for service entry sheets to enable vendors to selete their items during the confirmation / filling the service entry sheets. - they say this is mandatory
SAP are also asking for XI for the data to be transferred from R/3 to SRM (and may be vice versa) - they say this is mandatory.
Few questions:
1) What kind of hardware size are we talking about to have SRM-SUS, MDM, XI and Portal (PI)
2) Are MDM and XI mandatory as said by SAP and if yes, in what scenarios. What is they way around
3) How good is the functionality provided by SRM-SUS for Services? Is it as good as in R/3 (or even better)? We will be having complex Services in our scnearios.
4) What can be a typical time to install SRM-SUS, MDM, XI and Portal in the Dev environment to get moving onto the project?
An early response shall be highly appreciated.

few answers to your questions
1) what is the release of SRM you want to work with?
2) services in SUS is not available as standard , and will be provided by SAP as consulting up on request.
3) for hardware requirements , please refer to the master guide for the srm release you will be working on -->
and also you can refer to the software component matrix in master guide --> to see if any component is mandatory..
4) XI and MDM as far as i know is mandatory for SRM 6.0 and above , But in SRM 5.0 , XI is compulsory.
5) so xi is mandatory in anyway in SUS as different systems are involved and therefore is required for routing the documents correctly.
6) time for installation again depends on your supplier base , and your level of expertise.
7) it is not always recommended to compare between two different systems , R/3 and SUS are different and so functionality will not be the same
8) but as far as i know R/3 is stronger functioanlly..

Nokia 808 Pureview feature request for Phone and C...

Where would be the best venue to make feature requests for the 808 functions? These are some nice-to-have ideas that I would like to propose, which would increase its awesomeness:
- in video mode, add a "lock exposure" setting so that the 808 doesn't continuously adjust exposure after recording starts. this would be equivalent to setting the exposure to manual on a regular videocam.
- in photo creative mode, add a voice-activated self-timer, where it would take a shot when sound reaches a certain threshold. this is similar to what the Shout 'n Snap app does for the android.
- in phone calls, add an option to use proximity sensing, so that when you take the phone away from your ear, the handset automatically switches to speaker phone, or vice versa. this would be equivalent to the Phone Speakers Switcher on the N900.

i'd like to make an addendum to my request and change it to "lock exposure and white balance".
i just found that while shooting, it does not keep the white balance setting throughout. for example, select "tungsten" and the video will start with this, but later it adjusts as if it was under "auto" white balance setting for the rest of the video.

How to create the request for change of selection text into other language.

In my object requirement is that when login through Japanese language, then on selection screen selection text should appear in Japanese language. For that I have maintained the text in Japanese language the program where we define the selection text there from translation I have maintained the text in Japanese but while maintain the text it didn't ask me for REQUEST, because of that I am not able to transport the changes to next system, so I want know how to create the request for this case.

You could goto the selection screen texts by goto-> selection texts,
Then you could again goto -> Translation
or
Other-> Translation(Not sure )
Then double click on the Program you should be able to see the Texts that need translation, now change something save and come back and try to activate, now it should propose for a new Transport Request.
Either create a new transaport request or give one that you have given for the program.
Hope the issue is resolved.

(Request for reporting available) is not coming in Cube

I have Cube & DSO.
I added fields in DSO & Cube.
Cube1 has Aggregrates built on it.i added 5 infoobjects on it, Now when i load data from DSO to Cube(Request for reporting available) is not coming up. i cant do reporting on it. can anyone help.

Since aggregates are there on that cube....until and unless you do the roll up that request will not be available for Reporting...
