SRM Sourcing vs SAP Sourcing vs EBP SUS

Hi All
Can anyone help me in differentiating SRM Sourcing vs SAP Sourcing vs EBP SUS, which one is superior is it SAP Sourcing or EBP SUS
I would want to know the difference between SRM Sourcing vs SAP Sourcing vs EBP SUS
Regards
James

Hi James,
I'm not sure what kind of differences you want to know about these 3, i.e. maybe from technical point of view.
As far as I know:
Sourcing is an important part of SRM (Supplier Relationship Management) as a procurement system. SRM could be integrated with ERP system and plays a role of sourcing system.
It provides Strategic purchasing, including strategic sourcing and contract management, as well as operational sourcing.
SAP Sourcing: It was acquired from Frictionless, and was originally called E-Sourcing, then was renamed to SAP Sourcing in 2010, which contains mainly strategic sourcing and contract lifecycle management. It could be considered as a complement of SRM.
Both SRM and SAP Sourcing, and ERP could be integrated together.
I'm not quite sure of what you mean by "EBP SUS'. We do have a scenario called EBP-SUS, which means connecting SRM system with SUS (Supplier self service system). SRM PO could be sent to SUS system, in which supplier could perform the follow-on procurement process, i.e. PO response, ASN, GR, and invoice with SRM. I would not call it a sourcing process.
And I would not say which one is superior. Basically you need to choose according to the customer's business requirement.
Best regards.
Wendy

    hi,
I am currently working on SRM EBP-SUS scenario which makes use of XI 7.0.
while reading through the posts on this scenario, prior to XI 7.0,mapping content had to be imported into XI repository.
as per XI 7.0 is it required to import the mapping content into IR or it is already shipped into IR.
    any help is appreciated.
    thanks in advance.

    Hi,
If you export the mapping content in previous version then that can be imported into IR, in MM ctrShift0 then you will get on window ther you can import the mapping .
    Is this your requirment?

  • SRM-PI Integration for Supplier and Company Replication ( EBP-SUS Scenario)

    Dear Experts,
We are doing a scenario where we are trying to replicate the Company and the Vendors from EBP to SUS via tcode-
    BBP_SP_COMP_INI and BBP_SP_SUPP_INI.
When we are doing this in EBP , at SLG1 it is showing the replication done successfully. I have also checked  in EBP - SXI_MONITOR the corresponding XML messages has been successfully generated and the respective proxies are called.
But these messages are failing in XI.
In XI the corresponding service interfaces are used -
    from EBP (outbound) - SupplierPortalTradingPartner_CreateOrChange_Out       http://sap.com/xi/EBP
    to SUS   (Inbound)-  SupplierPortalTradingPartner_CreateOrChange_In              http://sap.com/xi/SRM/SupplierEnablement

    data type used                                           TradingPartnerCreateOrChangeInternalOut    http://sap.com/xi/EBP
We are doing this scenario from  SAP  Pre-delivered  standard content -

in XI the inbound message is failing at mapping step, it is showing the below error-
Cannot produce target element /ns1:SupplierPortalTradingPartner/Method. Check xml instance is valid for source xsd and target-field mapping fulfills requirements of target xsd
I have also tried to test the mapping in test tab with the same payload but it showing the same error, even if I try it with a blank payload error remains same.

    Hi All,
    I have resolved the issue.
it was a cache problem. I have changed the map, just edited description and activated  the map. Though it was a SAP standard Map. I have made the objects as modifiable from SWCV and all the messages are processed.
    Thanks

  • Create SAP Source System Failed

    Hi all,
We are using NetWeaver 2004s BI and try to connect to ECC 5.0. I tried to create SAP source system but got error message saying "RFC user logon failed". When I check RFC destination in ECC 5.0 for BI, the test connection is ok, but the remote logon will pop up another logon screen asking for id and password. I am pretty sure that the id and password in RFC destination is correct. The RFC destination in BI is ok. Can you help me out with this? Thanks a lot in advance.

    Hi,
Check the Default Logon <b>Client</b> for ECC 5.0
and verifiy that the User is in the Same Client
Each RFC destination has a mapped user for specific Client..Check the Client and User in the same client

  • Data Reconciliation Node on SAP Source System

    Hi Gurus,
I'm working on Data Reconciliation between SAP BI and SAP R3 systems.  I've read on the forum that the reconciliation DataSource technology is available as of PI-BASIS 2005.1 / SAP NetWeaver 2004s.  I'm using
SW Comp     Release             Level     Highest Support     Desc
    PI_BASIS      2005_1_640      0017      SAPKIPYJ6H         Basis Plug-In (PI_BASIS) 2005_1_640
I wonder that I cannot see the Data Reconciliation Node in the transaction RSA6 in the SAP Source System.  Please throw some light on this whether I need to activate them.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ash.

    Hi Sunny,
Thanks for your response.  Can you suggest me what should I do to get those DataSources?  Are there any patches that SAP has released to overcome this problem for lower versions as the one which I'm using?
    Thanks,
    Ash.

  • SAP Sourcing 7.0 integration with SAP ERP - issue with SAP PI

    Hi All,
We are integrating SAP Sourcing 7.0 with SAP ERP 6.0 with SAP PI 7.1 in middle. So the Sourcing will talk to PI and this intern will talk to ERP. Sourcing is on oracle 11g where as PI and ERP are on SQL 2008. All these 3 are on windows 2003 x64.
We are following the "Configuration Guide Integration of SAP ERP and SAP Sourcing 7.0" provided by SAP.
We have successfully configured Sourcing and PI systems as pe the document. In Sourcing, by using background jobs we are able to successfully generate files in "export" folder which is part of FTP directory.
However the issue is with PI, we configured the "configuration scenerio" in Integration builder and point all channels to the FTP folder in Sourcing. But PI is not picking up these files.
Is there any way to trigger this in PI system. Or do we need to do anything in sourcing itself.
    Regards,
    Siva.

    Hello Siva,
I am thinking that you may need to deploy FTP adapter in PI to get this process work fine but not sure.
Let's see what other experts suggest.
    Thanks,
    Siva Kumar

  • Error when activate a SAP source system

    Hello Experts,
I have an issue when I try to create a new SAP source system but I cannot complete this operation because a Timeout error occurs when the system made the destiny verification, the source system can be created but not activated, I already create the RFC connection and they are OK, I add the new logical system of the source system in the configuration (SBIW) in the general settings, and the data source tree is show succesfully and sems to work OK and the data sources seems to be OK too.
In the RSA1 transaction, go to source systems tree, choose the SAP source system called: "conexion a dev 200" -> right click and choose activate and the error occurs.
I have a Myself source system already created and activated, I cannot find the source of the problems thata cause the timeout error in the new source system.
Thank you vey much in advance,
    Niurka

Yes, I try ti use the create automatically option first but it doesn't work, because says that we system already exists because here exist a myself source system with an RFC to R/# ( I don't know why), so I must use the manually creation option, I put the logical system, and all the requeriments of the screem. The system create the source system but when I try ti activate it, it is impossible to do it....!
I hope that you can give some tips or solution for this issue,
    Thanks!

  • SAP Source System showing up as BI Source System in RSA1

I have 2 BW systems and 2 CRM Systems.  In one BW system, when I create a SAP Source system in RSA1, It gets listed as a SAP Sources system along with ECC and all the rest.
The Logicial Systems and RFC Connections all appear to be the same between each pair.
In the other system, using identical procedure, it the source system gets listed as a BI Source System.  The 2 CRM systems have identical components and version levels as do the 2 BW systems.
Any idea why and if this would make any difference and how to correct.

    Hi,
To fix this, you need to do a restore (& not a delete) of the source system in BW, having deleted the RSBASIDOC entry in the source OLTP system.
This will force the BW system to interrogate the RSBASIDOC table entry in the source system again and it should then realise that it is an R/3 system (not a BW system) and move the entry to the SAP folder.

  • Message "Creation of DataSources for SAP source system is not permitted"

    Hi,
I am in DW Workbench: Modeling and I need to copy a DataSource.
It's impossible, beacause I have this Message "Creation of DataSources for SAP source system is not permitted"!
    What can I do?
    Thks

    Hii.
You can not copy the standard datasource to any other source system it will not allow you to do that.
But if you want to copy you can copy it to PC FILE source system.
It will allow you to copy there.
Right click in Datasource->Copy-> Give Target datasource name -
    > intarget Source system tab -
    >Give Source system for File.
    Thanks

    Hi!
In order to upgrade the existing SAP R/3 system (release 4.6c) to SAP ERP 2005 we need the DVD's sources of SAP R/3.

  • SAP Source system creation in BI

    Hi Gurus,
I am trying to create SAP source system in BI,  The trying to create ALE REMOTE user in both systems.
What roles and profiles i need to assign to this user id. After creating user ids what steps i need to follow. Thanks.
    Best Regards,
    Suresh.

    Hi,
To Create SAP Source System In BI:
-Click on Source System tab in RSA1.
-Then right click on the heading Source system and select Create.
-Select the first option Automatic. Create SAP System and continue filling the other details.
-This will create Source system automatically.
When you enter background user's password, sap system user name is modifiable, but the the BI user.
The background user of BI system, is defined in
    RSA1 => Settings => Global Settings
<b>BW User ALE</b> field will have the name of the background user in BI.
If you are using ALEREMOTE as background user, make sure the same is maintained as BW User ALE.

  • How to bring BO knowledge (Oracle source) to SAP BI/BW/ECC (source)

    Hi,
I currently took a BO XI R2 class but they did not have SAP BI/BW (ECC 6/ R3) and therefore, they used only Oracle DB as the relational database i.e. the source system of data.
Do you have any help for me on how to transition my acquired knowledge into the SAP environment?
I am an SAP BW/BI consultant.
    i.e.
Any info on how link BO to SAP BI Cubes/DSO since class did not discuss those?
For example, I saw a requirement, "BO experience with atleast one implementation in ECC6.0" .
I will appreciate any hints to help be bring the two together i.e. BO knowledge (Oracle source) to SAP BI/BW/ECC (source)
    Thanks
