SRM UWL: Overwrite Inbox-View property excludePreviewSections

Hi,
we are working with an UWL wich combines SRM BRF Workflows and indivdual oney as well. WEe have to use the inbox iview provided by SRM which sets the property excludePreviewSections to "Attributes, Description, Attachments, Notes, UserDecision". So we do not have Description and Attachments for all workitem.
For the non-SRM workitem we still need Description and Attachments - so we took these from the property. Now the workitem descrption appears also for SRM workitems. Is there a way to suppress the workitem text for tasks using the UWL configuration XML?

HR Tasks in SRM UWL

Hello -
We use 2 separate UWL for MSS and SRM -
In SRM we have a test id and assigned the test id SRM UWL (pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/specialist/com.sap.pct.srm.srm70/com.sap.pct.srm.com.fl_common/com.sap.pct.srm.com.fl_iviews/com.sap.pct.srm.com.iv_inbox), which uses com.sap.pct.srm.core.xml. Similarly same test id is available in ECC and corresponding MSS UWL is assigned to the Portal User. ie pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/line_manager/com.sap.pct.erp.mss.bp_folder/com.sap.pct.erp.mss.iviews/com.sap.pct.erp.mss.uwl and xml com.sap.pct.erp.mss.001.xml.
During testing, we found that HR tasks are being displayed in the "SRM UWL".
We use 2 separate UWL's, one for HR and one for SRM and assumption was the tasks for each would not cross into the other.
I verified the SRM, MSS XMLs and Item Types are unique in the respective XMLs.
Why are HR tasks shown up in SRM UWL - is it because of same user? How can we restrict HR Tasks not shown up in SRM UWL.

Yes - Since all the tasks belong to the same user, every thing will show up unless you have configured otherwise.
You could play with your XML configuration files and UWL iview properties to separate the items to two different UWL iviews.
The easiest way would be the following:
There is a parameter called "User Roles" which can be configured while creating a UWL system.
Then this UWL system will only be used for the configured roles. Set this property for your UWL systems with the roles as per your requirement and you should be good to go.

However, remember that the whole purpose of Universal Work List is to provide a unified view of all the workflow tasks for a given user (from all the backend systems).

How can I see the "attachment" icon in my inbox viewing screen?

All I want is to see which emails in my Inbox have attachments included in them. However, there is no icon in the Inbox viewing screen. I can only see it after I've opened email. Does anyone have any advice on what customization I can use for this problem?

Try going to the menu bar in Mail, click on View/Columns, make sure that Attachments is checked (click it) It should put a column with a papper clip icon at the top of your in box.

Since downloading Firefox 4, I am having problems archiving gmail conversations from my inbox view. Also, when I go to enter a new event in google calendar, I now have to click the cursor in the box to type the event (it used to let me just start typing).

Adding columns to result list in inbox view of web client

Hi,
I have a requirement to display custom columns in result list of inbox view of web client. I copied the view and controller to custom name space. In BSP_WD_WORKBENCH , for AUIITEM view, there are two context nodes . AUIITEMTREE is one of thena and has tree structure and under it tree node proxy. Tree node proxy has attributes, I can not add more attributes to Tree node proxy in work bench. Would you please any one suggest the approach to solve this problem.

With multiple inboxes, when I switch from one to another the inbox view is at the top rather than where I was when I switched to the other. This is new.

One inbox is a pop inbox with many messages in it. The other is an imap inbox. If I am working at say, message 2000, in the pop inbox, then switch to the imap inbox, and later switch back to the pop inbox, the inbox view is inconsistent. If there is a new message in the pop inbox when I switch back, the view starts with the newest messages including the new message. If I switch to the imap inbox and no more messages arrive in the pop inbox while I am working the imap inbox, when I switch back to the pop inbox the view starts at the oldest message (in my case #1 of 4900 - requiring a long scroll to get to the newest messages). This behavior is new in the version I am using (24.6.0) on a Mac (10.9.3) so apparently an update changed it. I'd like to always return to the bottom (newest) message when switching to the pop inbox, so if there is a preference setting for that, please let me know, I couldn't find one. Otherwise please fix it.

The first part of this response is regarding the volumn of emails int he Inbox folder. I'm writting about this (although it is not your query) because I would not like to think you could lose all your emails.
I would strongly recommend that you do not save all of your pop emails in the Inbox folder, as it is designed to be an Inbox for incoming mail and not a general store.
You may see a folder in the FolderPane, but in reality your emails are stored in mbox files. Emails are downloaded and stored one after the other in the order downloaded. So, at this moment, you have one single mbox text File with all of your Inbox emails written one after the other into a single document.
Recommend you create some folders and manage your emails.
After sorting them out, you could compact the Inbox to remove any 'marked as deleted' emails.
When you delete an email, from your point of view it goes from Inbox to Trash. In reality it is still in the Inbox, 'marked as deleted', so it is still using space. When you compact your Inbox it removes those 'marked as deleted' emails.
If any corruption occurs in that file eg; TB cannot detect the end of a 'marked as deleted' email, then it may end up deleting a load of emails.
So I would not compact (a task that should be done on a regular basis) until you have organised your emails into other folders:

I would advise you have the most recent at the top, then you do not need to scroll. This option works in much better way for instantly locating new mail.
Click on the 'Date' column header to reverse the order.

How do I filter Notes out of my Inbox view?

I have 4 email accounts in Apple Mail (Lion version), one of them being iCloud, and I generally look at them all at once from "Inbox." How do I keep my Notes (in iCloud) out of my Inbox view? I can see the notes under "Notes" under "Reminders" on the left-hand side, I don't need to see it again in my Inbox. It just makes it look cluttered and interferes with how I mentally and visually process my email.
Is there a way to do this that won't hose my Notes in the first place?

Go to Preferences… > Accounts > selct the account > Mailbox Behaviours and there's an option there to see Notes in your inbox or not.

Need to Hide Few Columns In BPM worklist/workspace Inbox View

We want to customize the default inbox view, we need to remove some exiting columns(priority,state, task number and expired) and need add some custom columns.
We have followed the Customizing Applications in Process Workspace and the Worklist Application - 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.6.3) but did not work.
Please help on this.

You can acheive this its pretty easy...
Step1: Login to Workspace/Worklist as Administrator
Step2: Navigate to Admin Page by clicking on Administration link from the Global Links
Step3: Click on Public Flex fields/ Protected Flex fields under the Flex Feilds.
Step 4: Once on the Public Flex Fields screen click on the green + icon to create a new label .
Step 5: Now it will be to map this labelwith the simple variable coming as part of the input to the task form.
Step 6: We can now create a custom view so that we can also see the column for the Limit Requested column in the inbox. For the same view we will also sort the tasks based on the limit amount so that the users can prioritize it. Go to the Worklist Views heading and click on the green Add icon to create a custom Inbox/View.

After the migration to Office 365 clients started noticing an issue where the displayname is replaced by the mailbox Alias in the inbox view. We attempted to remove and re-create the Exchange profile for the mailbox but that has not resolved the problem. I am seeking more information from the clients who are impacted with this issue to see if specific iOS 7 versions that have the issue. Has anyone seen this or have any suggestions on how to resolve it?

Hi Asha,
Color views do not have object handles; rather, they are modified at the color (FO_Color) object level. That is, each color has a property called FP_ColorViewCtl which defines its behavior in each of the six built-in color views. If you want to modify the makeup of a color view, you should modify the colors themselves with respect to the desired view.
The FP_SpotColorView property only sets the active view... it doesn't modify the view.
Search the FDK ref for FP_ColorViewCtl and you find an explanation, under the FO_Color object properties.

Inbox viewing configuration

I pressed, poked or clicked something the other day and my Inbox viewing format changed. I now have a list of all the messages in my Inbox and I have to click on the Unread new messages to view it in another window. How can I change my inbox back to where the message appears below the heading in the same window as the list,like it was before?

If I've understood you correctly, all you have to do is drag the bar that is now at the bottom of the window up to anywhere you wish. Alternatively, you can just double-click on it -- you probably caused this to happen precisely by double-clicking on it.

Mail: Notes visible in Inbox view, I want to turn it off!

Since switching to Lion, I've noticed that Notes are now visible in the Inbox view in Mail. Every time I create a new one (and I use Notes a lot!), it is visible in the Inbox
I want to switch this off - I only want to see Notes if I click on the Notes mailbox!
Can anyone help, please?

Go to Mail -> Preferences, select Accounts and then select whichever account you have the problem with (if you have more than one account). In Mailbox Behaviors, uncheck the box "Show notes in Inbox".
